"Earth to Yelena, are you there?" Mia's voice brought her back to reality.

the reality that her life is miserable, the reality that she'll need to find a new job soon, the reality of dealing with this stupid high school.

"I'm sorry, what were you saying?" She asked as she looked at her suspiciously before she asked "What is it this time?"

Yelena let out a long sigh as people started passing by her while throwing some words like: hey, freak - how's it going scar?

Yes, you heard right, she's the school's punching bag, all that because of a goddamn accident that earned her a very long scar on her right cheek and ever since that day her name was gone and replaced by freak, Scar, hell even some of them call her a monster.

"What do you think happened? I got kicked out of another job, " she explained when she heard Helen's Voice behind her asking "Why?" so she turned around and hugged her when she saw her arms wide open.

Helen and Mia are the only people who weren't freaked out by her, they're childhood friends also they know everything about Yelena so they understand her better than anyone, even more than her idiot of a mother who she lives with.

"I don't assume anyone would like to have a freak working for them do they?" She asked sarcastically as they both shared a look then Helen said "Yel, why do you have to work when you're the daughter of a wealthy man who also is a part of the biggest 5 families here, "

"I don't want to talk about this, " she said and started to walk away but they both stood in front of her as a shield and Mia said, "Yelena, why are you choosing the miserable life over the good one?" Her words made Yelena's mind drift away to a memory she wish not to remember.

'3 Months Ago'

"Mom, Mom, where are you?" Yelena yelled as she was placing her bag on the floor, she started to check all the rooms until she found the bathroom in her Mom's room open and there was no sound inside so she went to check it out.

"Ahhh, " she let out a scream as soon as she entered it, there was blood all around Nora which was coming out from her wrist. Yelena knelt down beside her and checked her pulse, and thank God it was there... she tried to commit suicide.

She took out her phone as tears ran down her face and called 911.

"911, what's your emergency?" She heard the woman ask and then immediately answered "I need an ambulance to Nora Pattinson's house, we have a suicide attempt, " after the woman told her that the ambulance will arrive soon, she took a towel and wrapped it around her Mom's wrist in a failed attempt to stop the bleeding as she cried beside her.

After 10 minutes the ambulance arrived and Yelena went with them and right now she was sitting beside her Mom's bed as the doctor checked on her.

"she'll be okay, right?" She asked as her voice shook.

"Yes, yes she'll be fine, " he said then looked at Nora and continued "you're lucky miss Pattinson, you have a very brave daughter if it wasn't for her attempts to stop the bleeding a lot of bad things would've happened, " Nora looked at her daughter then looked back to the doctor and said "yes, I really am Lucky, "

The doctor left the room and she turned to her Mom, her eyes were burning from so much crying as she asked "why did you do this Mom?" Her voice was barely a whisper and she started crying as well.

"you were going to leave me and go live with your Dad, I can't handle living without you, " She explained with a shaky voice and she shook her head and said "Mom I would never have left you, but you know what, I'm staying with you Dad can manage on his own, "

'Present '

And guess what? she didn't try to do that for her, because she loved her, she only did it so that she won't go with her Dad so that she could hurt him and now she's stuck with her forever.

"Just let it go, now come on we have a class to attend, " Yelena said and walked ahead of them as she used her long blonde hair to cover up her scar.

She entered the classroom and went immediately to her desk at the back of the class as Mia sat in front of her and Helen on the desk beside me, it's like they're making a shielded ball so that no one would bother her.

No one such as Rina and her bimbos who hang on either side of her like medals and speak of the devil, here she comes with Caity and Cynthia on her left and right.

Great, she's coming her way and she can recognize how she looks at her which means she's going to insult Yelena in front of the whole class.

"Hey, Freak, did you enjoy your weekend?" she asked sarcastically and Yelena took a deep breath, trying to stop herself from slamming her head to the table but the bitch didn't know when to stop.

"oh right, you can't because no one would like to see a scarred freaky girl, " Rina said and Yelena stood up so I'm on the same level as she is because Enough is Enough.

"Well, at least a scarred freak is still original, not a stiff plastic manikin who is nothing but a fraud and all of that just to make the world accept her, " Yelena burst out and saw her expression which was a mix, anger, embarrassment, fear. She had no idea but she liked what she saw. Wait no... She didn't just like it, she fucking loved it.

Yelena saw her raise her hand to hit her but she was faster and slapped her right on her face which now was on the other side as she held her cheek with her hand and looked at her with the biggest look of surprise she have ever seen on her face as she ran out out the room while the bimbos followed her as well.

"Anyone would like to say something to the freak?" She screamed so that the whole class would hear her and she saw all of them turn away and avoid her gaze and as she was sitting down she made eye contact with the one person she didn't want to look at.

Domenico Accardi, The alpha male of the school, no one dares to cross him, and even if they do, his group will be there making whoever it is, pay the price for crossing him.

Lorenzo, Alessio, and Lucio, from the beginning of her life, she only sees them around him glaring at every single person who even thinks about getting close to him.

Right now he's staring at her after what she has done to his whore but he doesn't look pissed or rather there is no expression on his face, his face is just blank.

But before she had the chance to look away her name was called by the principal "Yelena Gallo, come to my office now, your father is already there, " Great, her father is here and she's not frustrated because of him, he always understood her, the problem was always... Her Mom, she'll be mad because Yelena is destroying her public image.

Yelena looked at Mia who was trying to reassure her then went out of the classroom but she could still feel his gaze was on me.

When she arrived at the office, her father was already arguing with the Secretary but stopped as he saw his daughter step in and close the door and she's sure he could see that she reached her limit because of what happened.

"Sweetheart, what happened?" Her Dad asked as he came to her and put his hands on both of her cheeks as he made her look at him and brutal honesty... She has never felt better in her life because she can see that someone other than Mia and Helen does care about her.

Yelena looked at Rina who had her mother beside her then looked at Carlo again and said "she started saying things about me and my..." She stopped and pointed to her scar and he turned around so he's facing the principal.

And she could see the anger in her father's eyes. I guess that's the benefit of being the miracle daughter to your parents... well at least one parent.

"You called me here, making me think that my daughter is the problem while the only problem is that you can't control your students, " Carlo screamed at the principal and she could see students through the little window on the door watching them from outside but her father didn't even care as he continued "Next time, know where the problem is before blaming my daughter, understand?" and she can feel the threat and venom drip from every single word he said.

"Yes, Mr.Gallo, " The principal said and Carlo turned around to her with a wide smile on his face as he said "let's go home Princess, I'm sure you're tired, "

They went out of the room as students and teachers were watching them. The good thing is Mia grabbed her bag from the class and handed it to her. Yelena hugged her goodbye then started walking out of the school beside her Dad but before she entered their SUV. She once again made eye contact with Domenico who was eyeing her suspiciously this time and she's sure this look won't bring her any good.

Domenico

"Do you know a girl named Yelena Gallo?" His father asked as they and by they he meant him and his big brother Marco were sitting in his office.

"know her in person, No but as in heard and saw her then yes I did, " he explained without sparing him a glance as he lit up his cigarette.

"You want to take over the underworld right?" The old man asked and this time he got Dom's attention so he removed his leg from the table and looked at him then asked: "what are you getting at, old man?"

Of course, the nickname earned him a glare from him but that was the least of his problems now.

"She's her daddy's Little girl-" he was about to continue when Dom cut him off and said "yeah I already noticed that today, " and finally Adriano looked up from the papers in his hand and looked at him.

"Why? What happened today?" He asked and Dom's mind drifted to this morning at school.

'At school '

He saw Rina enter the classroom with both Caity and Cynthia on either side of her as he watched her make her way towards Yelena, and yes he knows her, I mean the whole school knows her.

They talked back and forth until a sound of a slap caught his attention as he saw Rina clutching the right side of her face with a horrific look in her eyes as she stared at Yelena who he doesn't think noticed that her scar is not covered with her hair.

Rina ran out of the room with the whores on her tail but now he was only looking at one person, Yelena Gallo, A girl who was known for her beauty but that was before she got the scar of course or at least people thought she became less beautiful but from his point of view a scar is not an ugly thing, on the contrary, it's a sign for people to know that you're a survivor and he was damned because he thought he's the only one who thinks she became more beautiful with this scar on her face that she always covers with her perfect blonde hair and a blue eyes that can cut a hole right through you if she wanted to.

As she was sitting down they made eye contact and If he thought her eyes were beautiful before now he thinks they're fucking inhumanly beautiful, and what surprised him more is that she didn't avoid his gaze but she did when her name was called and she went out of the room.

"Well that was something, " Lorenzo, who was sitting on the desk behind him said as Alessio and Lucio hummed in agreement, he turned around to look at them and found them still looking at the door.

'Present '

After explaining what happened to the old man all Dom saw was a wide smile on his face and that's something that you don't usually see especially with him.

"I'll give you a job if you get it done then the underworld is all yours, " Did I miss hear him, or did he just say that he'll give me the underworld?

"What should I do?" Dom asked suspiciously and he answered "you will date this girl, Yelena Gallo, you'll have to make her fall in love with you, " he started laughing at him but then realized that he's dead serious about what he just said.

"you're serious?" He asked once again as he was glaring at him from across his desk and he nodded his head.

"If you break her then her father will also break because as he always says... she's his miracle, the one and the only person he cares about. If something happens to her, he's done, " his father explained as Dom looked at Marco who was just as surprised as he was.

"Vow in front of Marco that you'll give me the underworld if I do that, " Dom said, and honestly he didn't trust the old man that much but if he vows he wouldn't change his mind because a vow is as good as a bullet in their world.

"I Adriano Accardi vow to give you Domenico Accardi the underworld if you succeed at your job, " Shit, he's dead serious about this that he even vowed.

After settling things down with the old man he went out of the office to be greeted by his Mom who was eavesdropping on us and the look of disapproval on her face can not be missed.

"you won't do it, right?" she asked her so as her voice was shaking and he took a step towards her trying to calm her down but she only stepped away from him.

"Mom, " Dom said but she only shook her head and went to her room. He let out a long sigh and went to his room as well and found the guys there and guess what the room conquered tonight as well, for once in his life he wished to have his room for him.

"What do you guys know about Yelena Gallo?" He asked and they all immediately looked up at him with a surprised look and he asked again "What?"

"you're asking about a girl?" Alessio said in a questioning way and Dom let out a sigh and laid down on the bed putting both his arms behind his head as he asked again "do you know something helpful about her or not?"

"Yelena Gallo, she was born on the 29th of May, daughter of Carlo Gallo and Nora Pattinson, " Lorenzo said without looking away from the book he's reading but suddenly stopped so Don got up and sat on the sofa across him and said "continue, "

"She was known for her amazing beautifulness but that was before the car accident that earned her a long scar on her right cheek and the same exact accident was the reason why her father divorced her mother who took custody of her because she's underaged and people believe she has her because Carlo is letting her not because he can't win the case, " he stopped again but Dom figured that he's just remembering the details so he won't give him false information.

" she has two best friends who are also her childhood friends they're Mia and Helen, they also got bullied by Rina and the bimbos by the way and Yelena used to protect them but now they are the ones protecting her, " Dom nodded his head while Alessio and Lucio were simply listening but a question came up to his mind "why does her father address her as his miracle?"

"The chances for him to have kids was very, very low so when Yelena was born he was doing everything he could to protect her and that is why he calls her a miracle, " Lorenzo explained and Dom nodded his head again.

"Can someone explain what's happening here?" Alessio asked stupidly and Dom said "the old man offered me the underworld if I break Carlo's daughter, " all of them, even Lorenzo, looked at me with a stunned look on their faces.

"and you're going to do it?" Lucio asked and Dom threw him a glare as he said "of course I will, do you think I'll let this chance slip from my hand?"

"But you'll have to help me, " He clarified and they all nodded their heads in agreement.

"How are you going to make her trust you or even talk to you?" Lorenzo asked as someone knocked on the door and Dom motioned for Lucio to open it.

a minute later he came back with an envelope in his hand and he threw it at him but he caught it quickly then opened it to find photos of Yelena in it, before and after the accident.

And he swears that he has never seen someone more beautiful but now he's pretty sure her scar was no accident or at least it wasn't from normal causes and for what it's worth, she's even more beautiful with the scar on her cheek, because of the way she uses her hair to hide it, but that's also a sign that it's going to take a lot to break her.

Yelena

I don't really get the point of standing in front of the mirror in my situation, like right this moment because I'll I see is a freak, a monster nothing more nothing less.

She never denied the fact that she's a monster by now and all of that because of them, they did this to her, they're the reason I'm like this, they did this to her.

She used the bag of makeup and threw it at the mirror as she watched it shatter into a million pieces... just like her, just like she shattered after what they did to her.

The door to her room opened as her Dad stepped inside the room and started examining her to make sure she didn't hurt herself because... well let's say she has previous experiences in trying.

'Past'

How hard could it be, it'll hurt but it'll set her free from this hell she's in, one move, a pull of a trigger, a bullet in the head, and it's all going to be over.

She wrapped her hand around the gun and lifted it to her head but at the same moment her Dad opened the door of the room with her Mom on his side and with her Dad's best friend and butler, Andres but the center of the attention was Carlo as he said: "Princess, what are you doing?"

"I found the best solution for this Dad, " she said as she pointed at the scar with her free hand, and tears started streaming down her face as she saw him take a step towards her and she took a step back and said "don't come any closer, " and with that, he stopped moving.

"my sweet girl, let's talk about this, " she heard her so-called Mom say and she started laughing hysterically at her words but still forced the words out of her mouth "my sweet girl, oh Mom you're so funny, you even tried to commit suicide so that I stay with you and not because you love me... no, it's because you wanted to hurt Dad, " her laughs turned to cries at the memory.

"she did what? or you know what? forget about her... baby, just focus on me, " Dad said and she turned her attention to him as he started talking again "we can fix this, okay, I'll get you the best surgeons from all around the world and they'll fix this, " her heart was melting for knowing that he cares about her, someone cares.

"We both know it's impossible Dad, this scar is so deep that they can't even fix it, they can't fix me, " she saw her father's eyes start to water while she continued "I'm a shame to you Dad, " he shook his head at her.

"you are no shame to me, I'm the one who should be ashamed because I couldn't protect you, " Dad said but she didn't even listen to what he said, she can't take this anymore, she closed her eyes and pulled the trigger but in a blink of an eye the gun was moved away from her head and the bullet hit the glass as Carlo held her down when she struggled to get free.

'Present'

"I'm sorry I just snapped, " she explained to her dad who was still making sure she's okay then hugged her but she couldn't bring herself to hug him back because it's been a long while since the last time she got hugged by one of her parents.

"It's okay, sweetheart, just come on, let's get you to school, " Carlo said and pulled her with him and they headed to school.

She kissed her dad on the cheek then went to the school bathroom to check on herself before the first class started and as she was checking herself in the mirror she saw Rina and her bimbos in behind giving her disgusting glares.

She turned around and said "Yes, Rina, " as she saw her fists tighten at each side of her as she said "You bitch think that you can slap me and get away with it, "

She raised her fist and was about to hit Yelena and she closed her eyes bracing herself for it but she waited and waited and waited but nothing happened.

Yelena opened her eyes and she couldn't believe what she saw in front of her, Domenico was holding Rina's arm, stopping her from hitting her and he said "Lucio, " as he motioned with his head towards her then Lucio came to her side and was about to grab her arm when she shrank away from him and saw him look Domenico for help.

But before he could say anything Lorenzo stepped in and motioned for Yelena to walk in front of him and she was grateful he didn't get close to her as she went out of the bathroom and he waited with her.

"What is he going to do?" She asked but when Lorenzo stayed silent Yelena went to open the door when he caught her hand in a very harsh grip and she let out a yelp but he didn't move.

"She's been bullying you for years and now she tried to hit you and you want to make sure she's okay?" He asked as he started to ease his hold from her hand, as he stared at her, his face was so emotionless.

"I-I, " she tried to say something, anything but couldn't because he's right, why would she care if she's okay or not but before she could think further the door was opened as Rina and the bimbos ran away while they were crying as Domenico, Alessio and Lucio stepped out of the bathroom and Lorenzo let go of her hand.

She was about to leave when someone caught her arm and surprise, surprise guess who it is?

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked as his group started to walk away, leaving the two of them alone in the empty hallway.

"Um, Class, " she played dumb because she knew that wasn't the answer he was expecting from his next words "No thank you for saving your ass there, " she pulled her hand away from his grasp and looked him right in the eye.

"I could have saved my own ass there, so no...no thank you," she said these words and started walking away or rather ran away from him and why in the freaking hell is my heart pounding that fast.
