"AHH! L-let me go!" It can hear the pleading voice of the poor woman, almost begging for her life. The man quickly grabbed the woman's cheek, where her jaw almost crashed, and his nails seemed to dig into the girl's bruised face.
"You can't escape from me. You have to remember that," said the man as if he was going crazy. The woman just stared straight at the young man's scary face. "But before I kill you, let's play first. Do you want to play hide and seek? You seem to be good at it, don't you?"
The man let go of her violently; he almost broke the lady's neck because of that.
The young man stood up properly. "Let's start, okay?" He pulled out the gun, the reason why the woman automatically swallowed. She was catching her breath as fast as her heart was beating.
"I will count to ten, and you can run or hide wherever you want. One!" Even though the woman struggled because her thigh ached from the beating and kicking she received, she insisted on standing up and running. It was not just her foot that hurt but her whole body, but she tried to ignore it all.
"Two. Three. Four." The man counted fast, so she hurried to run. "Five. Six."
She still heard the count until she quickly covered her ears and bowed a little when the man fired a gun into the sky.
Her fear didn't last long either because she continued running again. She didn't have time to stop and give in to the fear she felt at that moment. She sped up from running, and even though her leg hurt, she ignored it because the only important thing for her was to get out of that hellish place.
"This will not be the end of me. I will not die here," she said boldly to herself. She have to be strong and needs to have the courage to escape because if she doesn't do that, she might give up.
"You hooh. Where are you." She heard the man's voice behind her and quickly bent down in the tall grass.
What she's thankful for now is that the surrounding is dark, and it seems like it will rain any moment. Because for sure, the man chasing her would see her easily if it was bright in the area.
BANG!
The young woman quickly covered her ears again from that gunshot. She knew the man was close to her because the sound he made was loud.
"Where are you? Just hide well, baby girl, or else that was the last time you could hide from me," the man said.
The girl seemed to catch her breath when she saw the man standing in front of the tall grasses where she was hiding. But thankfully, he didn't caught her.
She automatically covered her mouth again tightly so she wouldn't make any noise. The only thing she could hear at that time was the pounding on her chest. It took about twenty minutes for her to hide in those grasses until the rain started to fall from the sky; that is what she was waiting for so that she could come out. She first ensured the man was far away before standing up.
The woman quickly ran in the opposite direction. She made a careful and silent escape until she saw the road not so far from where she was standing. She gathered all her strength to run towards that road until she heard a loud bang again, so she quickly bent down.
"THERE YOU ARE!"
She turned around when she heard that voice and saw the man looking at her while pointing the gun in her direction. He fired his gun once more. BANG!
She bowed again and was thankful that the bullet didn't hit her, and started walking faster to get down the road. She was running carefully, fearing that she would slip because of the mud made by the rain. The girl knows that if she falls, the man chasing her will definitely catch her, which will end her life.
She even turned behind her to see if the man was still following her, but then she noticed that the man had disappeared again, so she took that opportunity to run even faster until she could get down there on the road. She ran freely in the dark, without even noticing that the man stopped chasing her because he slipped in the mud and hit his head on a stone, causing him to lose consciousness.
Even though the woman was frail and her foot hurt more, she ignored it all. She walked on that road for a few minutes until she saw a car coming. Her body seemed to want to give up, but she tried her best to block the middle of the road to stop that car.
Zelus was driving his car quietly; he was alone inside at that time until he immediately stamp on the car's break because of the woman who suddenly blocked his path.
He would have chosen to hit that woman because he was in a hurry, but he was forced to stop. Zelus just got that new car earlier, so he can't afford to damage it. He honked at the woman repeatedly but noticed that she was just looking straight at him. He didn't know what kind of look she was throwing at him, but he knew he didn't like it. Zelus also frowned when he noticed that the woman was filthy and her face covered in bruises. She also has a crack in her mouth with blood still on it.
He was shocked when the woman quickly approached his car window near the passenger seat.
"P-please, help me. Help me!" the woman said.
"Someone wants to kill me. I'm begging you, please help me. "
Zelus couldn't help but frown.
"Did you come from inside that forest?" he asked the woman and pointed to the forest.
"Y-yes," the woman answered. Zelus secretly smirked at her answer.
"Okay, hop in."
The woman quickly got into Zelus's car. Zelus immediately turned his car around and sped off.
The woman doesn't know that Zelus is acquainted with the man who wants to kill her. Is Zelus helping her or not? What will happen to the poor girl? What if her life had gone worst with the man she was with?
ZELUS's POV
I quickly stopped my car in front of the house of Yukiro Tanaka, one of my close friends. There is a clinic inside his house because he is a Japanese-Filipino Doctor, and he owns that clinic.
This house is also the first house I pass in the village before I get to my house.
I removed the seat belt I was wearing and then quickly glanced at the woman riding in the passenger seat of my car, where she was now sleeping soundly. I roughly slapped her face to wake her up; I'm not a gentleman; she must know it first. She immediately opened his eyes, and our eyes met.
"Get out of the car," I said to her in a cold tone. I didn't even wait for her to speak more, so I got out of my car first.
All the lights in Yukiro's house are already off because it's past midnight, but I know he's still inside, so I ring the doorbell several times. I felt from behind that the woman approached my side, so I gave her a gaze. Her bruises welcomed my sight.
Damn! That's pretty hurtful. It looks like she did a lousy job with the man who wanted to kill her- I mean, Enrique. I know Enrique because I was about to go to his place when this girl blocked my car. I really had no intention of going to him today, but he just forced me, luckily- I had a reason not to go anymore. He's not my friend; he's my enemy, but we were acquainted. Her clothes are wet, muddy, and dirty. The hem was damaged, and there were blood stains on her white clothes. Her lips cracked, and some parts of her face were almost black because it was starting to bruise badly.
Tsk! This is what I hate about Enrique.
If he wanted to kill this lady, he should have shot her in the head so there would be no more trouble, right? One shot would have done it all, but look what happened. This girl escaped. So stupid!
After a while, the door opened, and Yukiro came out. He quickly stared at me before looking at the woman next to me.
"Treat her," I commanded and didn't wait for Yukiro to answer. I completely entered his house and left them outside. I went to his kitchen, got some wine, and quickly drank it.
"S-sit down. Do you want to drink? I'll get you some water." I heard Yukiro softly say to the woman. I just shook my head.
How can he be that kind? DAMN! Being kind is equal to being a loser, right? I heard Yukiro's footsteps approaching the kitchen until he finally entered, and our eyes immediately met. He quickly came to my side.
"What's that trouble you got in now, Zelus?" He whispered, maybe fearing that the woman heard him. He was getting water from his fridge while I still drank my wine.
"She's just lucky that she saw me earlier and called for help because if not, the worms on the ground would have feasted on her," I answered Yukiro without emotion as I sat on the stool.
"You mean, you're not the one who did that to her?" He asked again, but I didn't answer him.
"Well, is she really lucky you are the one she asked for help? Or maybe you're even worse."I knew what he was pointing out, so I couldn't help but grin.
"When I can get benefit from her, she is lucky. But if I can't get anything out of her, I'll return her to Enrique, or worst, I can be the one to kill her," I answered him and just drank again. Yukiro just shook his head at what I said, and without a word, he left the kitchen to go to the girl outside carrying a glass of water.
I continued drinking until I got fed up and decided to go out. They were not in the living room now; that's why I went straight to the second floor where the clinic was. I was so familiar with his place that I had no trouble finding them.
The door of his clinic is open, so I don't need to knock. I went inside and saw the woman sitting on the solo bed while Yukiro sat on the bench facing the woman and cleaning her wounded lips. I leaned against the door while watching them.
"What is your name?" I asked the girl nonchalantly. She threw a gaze and stared at me for a few seconds before shaking her head, and I couldn't help but frown at that."I- I don't have a name," she said weakly.
I couldn't help but smirk in annoyance and asked her a threatening question, "Are you kidding me or fooling me?" I don't have fucking time for such jokes. I have too little patience, especially with weak women like her.
"I-I'm not. I'm telling the truth. I don't have a name. B-because, I don't remember anything. I just woke up in the club, and they called me Sandrine. I don't remember anything, my name, age, where I live, and who my family is, nothing at all," she explained.
"Do you know that you are facing a doctor now? He can tell if you're telling the truth or just lying," I said, referring to Yukiro.Yukiro glanced at the girl before looking at me.
"Maybe she was in a state of shock, so she almost lost her memories, Zelus. Right now, it's better if you don't ask her any questions first so that her mind can rest and she won't get confused," Yukiro explained.
I didn't say a word anymore and straightened up from standing.
"I'll just wait in the car. If you're done treating her, then prescribe her some medicines too. I'll take her home," I said to Yukiro.
I didn't wait for him to answer and turned around to go downstairs.
I was just leaning on the car and didn't wait long because I saw the woman and Yukiro leaving the house a few minutes later. Yukiro was guiding the woman carefully. I quickly threw my cigarette on the ground, stepped on it, and approached them.
"Get inside the car," I ordered the girl, but I wasn't looking at her but at Yukiro. The woman followed without a word and turned her back on us.
"Is it true that she doesn't remember anything?" I asked Yukiro right away.
"It could be true. Because of too much fear or trauma, it's possible, Zelus. But I can't say that I'm certain a hundred percent because I'm not a psychologist," he answered.
I just nodded to him in agreement. "Okay, thanks."
"I have already prescribed medicine for her. As soon as possible, I hope you can give it to her right away. She needs to take those medicine, especially the pain reliever," he said, but I didn't answer him and turned around to go to my car. I finally got on it and started the engine without a word.
After 5 minutes, I arrived at my house since it was close to Yukiro's. I took out the house key and went inside, where the woman was following me from behind.
"Follow me," she said to her and went straight up the stairs. She was silent as she followed me to the 3rd floor. I stopped in front of a black door and opened it, then went inside.
"You will sleep here tonight," I said, turning on the light and glancing at her.
"T-thank you," she said softly, and I grinned because of that.
"Don't be thankful because you might regret it in the end. You don't know me yet. You never know; I might be worse than the person who wants to kill you," I spoke, and slowly approached her. I heard her gulping. "But don't worry, as long as you are useful to me, you are safe. I also want to let you know that I know the person who wants to kill you. I know him, and he knows me." I immediately noticed the shock in her facial expression. "I can bring you back to him whenever I want."
I grabbed her chin and violently lifted it so that our eyes met.
"But that won't happen if you just obey everything I want. Because if you're Enrique's slave, I can use you so that you're useful to me." I also violently let go of her chin, the reason why her head immediately turned to the side. The corner of my lips lifted again before I left the room. Right! I can use him against Enrique. I know that guy, and he won't stop until he finds his slave.
He will go crazy if he doesn't kill that girl, so this is an excellent opportunity for me to enter the scene.
ZELUS' POV
I was half awake when my phone rang. I reached for my phone at my bedside table and answered it.
"What?" I hissed. I don't care who is on the other end of the line.
[Did you go to hide out last night?] I immediately recognized the owner of that voice, so I opened my eyes and got up from lying down to pay attention to Enrique.
"Why?" I asked. I expected him to call me today.
[I'm just asking.]
"Is there any problem?"
[I just lost my slave.]
I knew he would say that, so I wasn't shocked anymore.
[You might have met her if you visited my place last night.]
"I don't know because I didn't go there," I lied. "But, you mean, your slave escaped? How did that happen?" I asked.
I'm not protecting that girl. She's only useful that's why I keep her. As I said, I know I can use her.
[Just come to me now here at the hospital. I will wait for you.]
"Okay," I answered and hung up the phone call. And now he's in the hospital? I wonder what really happened last night. Tsk.
I finally got up without any shirts on. I was only wearing my silk pajamas when I went to the living room. I didn't find anyone in the kitchen or the living room, so I went upstairs again to see that girl. I didn't bother to knock on the door because why would I do that if it was my own house? Right? When I finally entered her room, I found her still sleeping.
The fuck! What did she think of my house? Hotel? I approached her and noticed that she was still wearing her dirty clothes.
"Hey," I said, but she didn't move even a bit. I violently pulled the blanket around her, so she woke up quickly. She immediately got up and looked at me.
"Aren't you going to get up?" I asked her without emotion.
"I-I'm sorry, it's just m-my body hurts," she answered as she bent down and couldn't look directly at me.
I ignored it and started to speak again, "I'm leaving now; I'll just send one of my friends here to treat you at the hospital. I can't use you with that condition," I smirked at her before I turned my head back and left her. She's Enrique's slave, so it's good to play with her, too, sometimes, right? Haha! I don't have anything else to benefit from her besides fucking her, but I'm sure that she has used to me one day. I didn't even go down to the kitchen to have breakfast; I just went straight back to my room and took a shower to leave.
I went downstairs and caught up with her in the living room while looking at the transparent wall of the house. I think she was looking at those men outside guarding the entire area. It seems like this girl is planning to run away.
"Hey," I called her. She quickly faced me and quickly bowed. I took three steps towards her, but still, there was a gap in between.
"What's your name again?" I asked.
"S-Sandrine," she answered.
"Do you know me?" I asked as I was wearing my silver Rolex on my wrist.
"I heard you are Zelus. That's what Yukiro told me." She was still bowing while talking.
I took one step between us, quickly grabbed her chin, and lifted it. Now, she was looking into my eyes.
"First rule, look at my eyes. I hate those people who don't look into my eyes the most. I find it so betraying. Remember that- Sandrine," I said in my most serious voice. I let go of her violently, causing her head to turn to the side. "I have to go." That's all I said; then I left the house completely.
I rode in the Lamborghini Veneno, one of the most expensive cars in the world. I got it from a bet in Casino. I started the engine while looking at her in the transparent wall. She's looking at my car but doesn't know I'm also looking at her since the windshield was tinted.
'You can't escape, so don't waste your energy.' I said to myself and drove away.
WHILE I was driving, I called Cezar-my pure Italian friend. We became friends a long time ago. In fact, he is a Casino owner- I got this car from him when I defeated him in a game.[Ciao Amico.] He said when he answered the phone call.
"Are you busy?" I asked right away.
[Not really; why? But wait, have you heard what happened to Enrique? He's in the hospital right now.]
"Yeah. That's where I'm going now."
[Really? I also heard from Lim that he is looking for a girl.] So, the news spread immediately, huh?But I know Cezar, and he's on my side like Yukiro.
"I have the girl he was looking for," I told him nonchalantly.
He was silent for a few seconds, and I'm sure he was shocked by that.
[Is that true? Are you with her now? Are you going to return her to Enrique?]
"No, I'll keep her."
[W-what? Sei fuori di testa?! You can't do that.] he said. (Are you out of your mind?!)
"I can. I'm Zelus, remember."
[I know, but Enrique owns that girl. Whatever he wants to do to her, it's up to him. Are you going to get into trouble just because of that girl?] he said as if he was correcting my decision. [Just bring her back, Zelus, that's not a good idea at all.] I know what he is talking about, but my decision is final.
"From what you're saying, it looks like you have no intention of helping me when I ask you for a favor," I said.
[What do you mean?]
"I want you to take that girl to Michiko's hospital."
[To Michiko? Why don't you take her to Yukiro's?] he asked further. Michiko Tanaka is the sister of Yukiro; she owns a not-so-popular hospital. It would be better to send that Sandrine there because there aren't many people at that hospital.
"I already took her to Yukiro last night. But I think she needs to undergo some tests," I answered seriously.
[Are you worried?]
"Nope. She's my slave now. I must ensure she's in good condition before I use and play with her." I smirk.
[Fine. Where is she now?]
"She's at my house; just go see her there. I will send some of my guards for security."
[Okay.]
"Make sure she doesn't run away from you, or you'll die." And I ended the call.I drove faster so I could go to the hospital.
A few minutes later, I arrived there. I asked the receptionist for the number of Enrique's room, which he quickly gave me. He was in a private room, and even before I could get close to his room, I immediately saw his staff standing guard outside the door.
"Sir Zelus, Sir Enrique was waiting for you; come in." One of the guards said and opened the door for me, and I went inside. I immediately saw Enrique with a bandage on his head. It seems that he also immediately noticed my arrival, which is why he looked at me. I just looked at him without emotion until I got close to him.
"I can't imagine you got admitted here in the hospital and fell into that situation because of a woman," I said nonchalantly.
"Shut the fuck up, Zelus!" he said furiously.
"Tell me what happened?" I asked and sat down on the solo couch while looking at him. I also took out my cigarette and customized an expensive lighter from my pocket. It's gold with the engraved letter 'Z.'
"I got her in the club," Enrique initially said. "When we were supposed to meet, I waited for you at the club, but you never came. I saw her because Leo recommended her to me; he said she was new to the club. So I bought her in cash. When I took her to the hideout, she didn't obey what I wanted. She said she wasn't a prostitute and didn't remember anything, so I beat her up. And that's what happened; she escaped."
I lit my cigarette first while nodding to what he said. It looks like that woman is telling the truth about not remembering anything.
"She was just lucky that night because I slipped, but once I see her again, I will make sure that is the end of her," he said furiously. I just blew out my cigarette smoke while listening to what he was saying and didn't make it obvious that I got her slave. I'm just doing this because this is the opportunity I've been waiting for so that I can take revenge on him for what he did before, and I will use that girl.
