Mia pov
I stroll along the roadside, tears in my eyes, unsure of what to do or where I am going. I honestly don't understand why I'm so despised.
I had just been falsely accused by my step sister and was thrown out of the house with the help of her mother.
"Are they not supposed to be my family? Why did you do this to me, Mom? Why did you have to abandon me in this horrible world, alone with no one to care for me?" I ask, crying loudly. I couldn't hold back my tears. I just wanted to let it all out. My sorrows.
"Mom, I've been thrown out of my father's house."I whispered as tears flowed continuously from my eyes.
I truly did not burn that garment! I know Rukky did that on purpose! I know she's just trying to accuse me, and she succeeded in her plan.
They are always there to support her. I've always meant nothing to them, whereas she is everything to them. If it hadn't been for her mother and my father acting as bodyguards behind her, I'd have thrashed her terribly.
But I wouldn't dare; else, I'd be digging my own grave. If I do this, I'll never be able to return home. I have nowhere else to go, and there is no money to buy a new gown for Rukky.
I have no choice but to return and beg their forgiveness, hoping that they will let me in. I quickly turned and headed back home. I'm praying they don't toss me out again.
Bryan pov
I turn my back on the fool kneeling before me, pleading for more time to repay the debt he has owed me for a long time. Asking for more time after so many months? Not possible! I'm not very considerate.
"Lord please, I promise to pay back soon, please lord." He pleads, attempting to wrap his arms around my ankle. However, my boys were swift enough to keep him in place.
If you want to know more about me, no one dares to call me by my name; otherwise, he or she wishes to die.
Except for a few select ones. Also, you don't look straight into my eyes, so you may call me a handsome Devil.
Let's return to my debtor.
"Josh, you are my employee, and you came to me crying for money to assist you address some problems at home. As a nice boss, I loaned you the money without interest. You pledged to repay me five months ago, but I have not heard from you since.
"I've given you enough time, Josh. However, if you refuse to pay, you will have to pay with your life! What are your thoughts on that?" I grinned evilly. Still not looking at him.
You don't need to remind me that I am evil and heartless.
"No, Lord, I'll pay you back. "Yes, I would!" He yelled, attempting to free himself from my bodyguards' grip, but he was unable to. How can one man battle against five massive bodyguards? Isn't it unfortunate and impossible?
After some thought, I slyly said, "How about a deal between the both of us?" I enquired, smiled broadly as I looked at him and saw the anticipation in his eyes.
I knew he'd be willing to do everything to save his life.
"If it will save my life, Lord, I am willing to do anything," he murmurs, hopefully.
I grinned evilly. "You know I do have eyes everywhere, and from a reliable source I found out you've got two beautiful daughters"I persisted for a while, hoping those words would penetrate into his brain. Before going. I did not miss those wide-open eyes in shock.
Oh!. He had assumed I would know nothing about him. I chuckled inwardly before continuing.
"You're not dumb, Josh. I am sure you already know what I want. So here's the question. "Is there a deal or no deal?" I enquired, peering at him with frigid eyes that he couldn't bear to meet.
"Lord, You promised to spare my life, right?" He reiterated his prior inquiry, and I sneered violently. "I do not repeat words, Josh! "You, of all people, should know that by now!" I cried, irritated. I don't want to get furious right now; else, I won't be as merciful.
"I apologise, Lord. I didn't mean to piss you off. He apologised, saying, "I was just curious." Then he said, "I'm ready to give you my eldest daughter in exchange for my life,"
A small grin crept across my face. At least the man had made the right choice.
"Bring her to me later this evening," I commanded coldly, leaning back in my chair. "And don't even think about betraying me, or your entire family will pay the price-severely. Do you understand?"
His face turned ghostly pale, and he nodded frantically, panic etched in every line of his expression.
"I w...won't dare go back on our deal, Lord!" he stuttered, barely able to get the words out.
I raised two fingers in a silent signal to my boys, and they released their grip on him. He fell to his knees, gasping for air, before lowering his head in a show of submission.
"Thank you, Lord. Thank you!" he mumbled, bowing repeatedly like a broken man.
"Get out!" I barked, my voice sharp and unforgiving.
Without another word, he scrambled to his feet and scurried out of the room like a scared rat.
I turned my attention back to the table, where my smokes and a bottle of whiskey waited for me. I picked up a cigarette, lighting it with a practiced flick of my lighter.
Taking a deep drag, I let the smoke fill my lungs before exhaling slowly. The cloud of smoke swirled around me, and I leaned back, savoring the calm that followed. Smoking always relaxed me, clearing my mind and sharpening my focus.
As I tapped the ash into the tray, I thought about the offer. A daughter in exchange for his life? People always seemed willing to sacrifice others to save their own skin. It amused me and disgusted me at the same time.
"Pathetic," I muttered under my breath, taking another long pull from the cigarette. But a deal was a deal.
Josh (Mia's father) point of view
My wife demanded that I borrow money from Bryan, my boss. Rukky needed money to deal with a serious situation she had gotten herself into, and my wife encouraged me to take out a loan.
And now he wants any one of my daughters in exchange for his money. Well, I won't mind handing him Mia in exchange for my dear life.
After all, she's doing nothing in my house except cursing issues. I'm sure my house will be wonderfully tranquil after she departs.
The cab driver stopped at my house, and I paid him before heading inside.
"Where is Mia?" I questioned as soon as my wife Linda opened the door. I didn't have much time to spare to avert Lord Bryan's wrath.
His rage is horrible and hardly worth writing about.
"Won't you get inside your house, before thinking of asking about that wretched girl?"She gritted her teeth with spite. I completely understand my wife.
She must be astonished by my sudden inquiry regarding Mia. Before today, I would never do it.
After all, I had Rukky to care for.
"Oh, Linda! Linda, you will not grasp what is happening. My life was almost destroyed."I grumbled as I sat down in the worn-out two-seater coach that serves as my living room.
"Then spill it out." "I'm very curious already," she said, peering at me.
"You know, the money I borrowed from my boss to sort out that issue Rukky had back then, you know the loan has been due for pay back for months now." I began talking to her, attempting to remind her of why we had taken out a loan from Lord Bryan in the first place.
"Yes, I understand. Of course, I wouldn't forget something so vital. So what's his issue with it? Can't he wait until his money arrives and we pay him off?"She enquired casually.
"Oh, Really? Do you honestly believe he wasn't going to ask for his money? Come on, Linda, it is impossible. After all, it was a loan, and we were expected to repay it." I muttered, trying not to get irritated at her casual demeanor.
"So? We don't have the money right now; what do you have in mind? What are we supposed to do merely to pay him off? Should we sell ourselves merely to settle with the so-called Lord Bryan?"She asked cynically, and I scoffed loudly.
What exactly is wrong with this woman? I tried to control my nerves before responding to avoid a heated argument.
"He's not interested in what I'm proposing or your foolish snarky questions. Rather, he wants one of my kids in exchange for his money," I said quietly, hoping no one would overhear us.
I observed how her jaw dropped open in wonder. "What? Whose daughter are you planning to give him? You better get this into your brain, Josh; my daughter isn't going with you!" She yelled without letting me tell her who I had already picked.
Wow, this woman is very theatrical!
"Could you please remain calm and let me tell you who I have chosen? If you must know, I will be delivering Mia to him." I spoke, and I could see a smile spread across her face.
"Really?? Then that's wonderful news," she smiled, and I gave her a quick glance before returning my attention to the floor.
"She'd be out of our lives forever, Josh," she said, and I just palmed my brow in thinking.
"I'm really worried, Linda."I couldn't help but express my worries.
"Huh, why?" She enquired, probably astonished. Because she knows I don't care for Mia.
"I am scared about Bryan, Linda. He acts like a devil, killing without hesitation. Mia is not like that. Linda, she is still an innocent child. How will she cope with him? With a heartless monster?"I poured out my concerns.
Linda's look, however, indicated that she cared less about it.
"Stop it, Josh. What's your problem? She'll deal with him! That should not be your problem. You've already committed to it, so there's no going back."
"Unless you want to lose your life just to save hers," she said sharply, and I moaned in despair, knowing I wasn't going to die just yet.
"Where is she? I have to take her to him before he gets angry," I said, scanning the house from my seated position.
"Oh, I chased her out of the house because she burned Rukky's beautiful gown. The one you purchased for her last week. But, I'm sure she'd return soon because she has nowhere else to go..." The quiet knock on the door halted her words.
"I'm sure that's her," she said before approaching the door and pulling it open.
I was also hoping that it was her.
"Mom, I apologise for burning Rukky's robe. Although I didn't do it," I heard Mia's pleas and hurriedly approached them.
"Just come in and get freshened up. I said, "You're going out with me," and she went in, smiling broadly, while Linda scoffed.
"Where are we going, dad?" She asked, and I looked at her, forcing her to shut her mouth.
Linda shouted at her, "Go get ready and stop asking stupid questions!" She scurried away.

"Dad, i'm ready" We turned on hearing her voice, and I cross-checked her clothes from head to toe, nodding in satisfaction.
Her clothing isn't particularly nice, but this one looks nicer.
"You look like someone better right now," Linda replied mockingly.
"Let's go! There's no more time to waste," I said as I went out, and she followed behind me.
"Farewell, little fellow," Linda smiled cheerfully as she watched us board a cab.
I didn't answer, focusing instead on what awaits us. What could I possibly say?
The cab ride was long and silent. As we neared Bryan's Mansion, I heard Mia say beside me.
"Dad, the drive is so long. Where are we going?" she whispered, probably scared I'd yell at her.
Mia Point of View
This is the first time I haven't been beaten after being sent out of the house. Other days, I'd be beaten before being allowed to enter the home.
Maybe this was my lucky day; this was also the first time I'll be going out with my father. It appears that my day has been both pleasant and unpleasant.
I'm thrilled and intrigued about where my father is leading me. He paid the cab driver who had driven us to our destination, and we got off.
"Dad, where's this?"I enquired when he rang the bell outside the huge structure. I was excessively curious and couldn't keep my lips quiet.
"Why can't you just be quiet for once? "Just keep it shut!"He ordered, and I kept my mouth shut to avoid infuriating him.
He has never been courteous to me, so why would I expect him to answer my questions? The gate opened, and two big men stepped out, their expressions menacing.
They're so large and tall that I look like an ant beneath them.
"Josh, are you finally here? Lord Bryan has been awaiting your arrival." One of them spoke up while cross-checking me from head to toe, making me cringe.
"Is she your daughter?" he questioned, sweeping his gaze about me. "Yes she's my daughter, Mia."
"Well, no doubt she looks really beautiful." He suddenly muttered something, and I couldn't tell what the look in his eyes was.
"I'm truly sorry for the delay," Dad said, completely ignoring the big guy's final statement, and I was astonished.
*Where the hell is this place? I couldn't help but become more inquisitive with each passing minute.
"Come with me," the other enormous guy, who hadn't said anything before, ordered, and dad followed him after beckoning for me to follow suit, which I grudgingly did.
After a while of walking around the magnificent edifice, we came to a halt before a door. I couldn't wait to see who we were meeting. Dad's casual demeanour piques my interest while simultaneously making me nervous.
"Wait here, I'd go inform him you're here," he said, and my father muttered an "okay" as the guy entered through the door and shut it before I could look inside.
I was disappointed, but I resolved to remain cool because I knew we were going in soon. I kept stealing looks at my surroundings.
The residence is immaculately designed and exudes luxury. If given the opportunity, I would not want to leave this area. I giggled as my thoughts were still buried in the splendour of the interiors.
"You can go in now," the guy's voice snapped me out of my stupor. I grimaced a bit for shaking me out of my reverie in such a way.
"Mia, come on, let's go in." Dad urged me in, and I followed him closely. This is exactly what I've been waiting for.
I went literally blind the instant I stepped into the room. I couldn't see much since the blue light was so weak, and I had to avert my gaze before I could acclimatise to the ambiance of the room.
"Wow.." It escaped my lips before I could contain it. The chamber was glistening with gold, and I immediately wanted to know who was in there.
The chamber is enough to make any lady get down on her knees and worship the feet of the room inhabitant. No doubt, the room is dripping with billions of money.
Money I doubt I will ever be able to earn in my lifetime.
"Dad, whose room is this?"I asked my father, whose mouth was wide open as he looked around the room. He probably hasn't been in this room before.
I didn't get a response from him, so I decided to remain silent and enjoy the view while it lasted.
"Boss!" When I heard Dad call, I turned to face him, my dark blue eyes meeting his hazel ones, and my mouth opened on its own. What the hell- is he actually human?
Rukky Point of View
I stared at my mother as if I could swallow her at any minute. What crap did she just spew out of her mouth?
"Mom, you can't tell me that! I need her back here now!" I yelled, angry, as I stood behind her in the kitchen.
"It is for the best, sweetie. At least we're free of her problems," Mom said, without looking at me.
"I don't need those chitchats, Mom. Who'll be doing the house chores, huh? Don't ever expect me to touch those disgusting items with my hands!"I scoffed bitterly, and she eventually gave me her whole attention.
"Of course, you are not going to do the chores; I am here for you. All you need to know is that she's leaving this house for the best baby." She grinned, and I scoffed before storming away angrily to my room, not believing her statements.
I need Mia to do the ficking chores, not her! She's only fit to serve us, specifically me! And I am alone! How could they do this to me? How can they conspire against me by delivering Mia to a wealthy man while I am here? What are they trying to accomplish? Are they biased towards me? I can't believe my own parents aren't wishing me well! Gosh!
I needed her out of the home, but not like this. Not this easy!
I am going mad right now.
I cannot let this happen! This is a massive slap in my gorgeous face. I'd have to do something about it; all I needed was a good strategy, and I'd be in control.
Laughs...
"Enjoy while it lasts, Mia Donald." I smirked as I looked at the sole picture we had taken together when we were kids.
We were both smiling brightly in that picture and now, I know this is the exact smile that would be on Mia's face.
It is my duty to wipe it off!
