Chapter 1 Their Betrayal

NADIA'S POV

I stood at the wedding hall entrance, my heart racing with excitement and nerves. Today is my wedding, the day I would marry the love of my life, the day I would finally become whole. But as I checked the time, my eyes scanned the crowd for one person - my fiancé. And that's when an uneasy feeling settled in me.

He wasn't there.

Panic set in as I tried calling him, but his phone went straight to voicemail. I tried again and again, my fingers trembling with each attempt. And then I tried my parents' numbers, but they weren't answering either.

A sense of unease crept over me as I realized something was terribly wrong. I excused myself and stepped out of the wedding hall, hoping to find some answers. But what I found was a crowd of mocking faces, their smirks and whispers cutting deep into my soul.

That was when I noticed her- a woman, she stared at me with an unnerving intensity and beckoned me over. I felt a sense of trepidation, as I walked over to her.

"How can I help you?" I asked, hiding the nervousness and fear in my eyes."

"You don't know, do you?" She replied with a sly smile. "Your fiance is getting married to someone else, and your parents are there celebrating with him."

I swallowed, my breath caught between my throat.

But the woman's next words cut through my facade of denial. " You're not their real daughter, you were adopted. That girl he's getting married to is their biological daughter."

My whole world came crashing down heavily around me. I stumbled backwards, trying to process the chaos in my head, but it was too much. I felt like I was drowning in the sea of endless pain and betrayal.

Under the mocking gaze of the audience, I decided to take a walk to clear my head, hoping to shake off the feeling of unease. As I strolled through the city streets, I couldn't help but notice the giant LED screen towering above the buildings. And that's when I saw it - a live broadcast of a wedding, with my fiancé standing at the altar, exchanging vows with another woman.

My world came crashing down around me. I felt like I had been punched in the gut, my breath caught in my throat as I tried to process what I was seeing. No, it couldn't be. It was a lie. A cruel joke.

But the image on the screen was unmistakable. My fiancé, the man I loved, was marrying another woman. And my parents were there, beaming with pride, as if they had been waiting for this moment all along.

I felt like I was watching a nightmare unfold before my eyes. I stumbled backward, trying to make sense of the chaos in my mind. But it was too much. I felt like I was drowning in a sea of pain and betrayal.

I turned away from the screen, trying to escape the reality of what I had just seen. But it was too late. The damage was done. My heart was shattered into a million pieces.

I wandered the streets, trying to make sense of what had happened. But every step I took felt like a betrayal. Every face I saw seemed to mock me, every smile a reminder of my own heartbreak.

I wanted to run away, run away from all these, but I had to confront my adoptive parents and demand answers. I had to know why they had lied to me, why they had betrayed me so deeply.

As night came, I stumbled my way home, with my now stained white gown, I knew that my life would never be the same again. I had been shattered, broken into a million pieces, by the same people I called my family and fiance.

I made my way back to my parents' house, my heart heavy with emotion. I knew that the confrontation ahead of me would be difficult, but I was ready. I was ready to face the truth, no matter how painful it might be.

As I opened the door, I saw my parents sitting in the living room, their expression unfazed. They knew what I had seen, and they knew that I knew the truth.

"Eddie, do we need to talk?" my mother said, her voice neutral.

But I didn't want to talk. I wanted answers. I wanted to know why they had lied to me, why they had betrayed me so deeply.

"You're not my real parents, are you?" I spat, my anger boiling over.

"No, We're not." My father said, his tone also flat.

I felt like I had been punched in the gut again. My whole life had been a lie. Everything I thought I knew about myself was a fabrication.

"Why?" I demanded. "Why did you adopt me? Why did you lie to me?"

My mother chuckled dryly before speaking. "Is this what you're supposed to ask? Shouldn't you be at least grateful that we adopted you, despite having our own child?"

I laughed, a bitter, humorless sound. "What then, was your motive for adopting me, since you had a child?"

She was about to say something when I heard footsteps coming from the staircase. I raised my head to see Logan, my supposed husband, walking hand in hand with the lady, who was said to be their biological daughter.

My chest tightened, as I saw the way he looked at her, their faces were etched with happiness, and affection for each other, as if they've been waiting so long for today to come.

Logan raised his head, and our gaze locked, hatred washed over me, as the sting of his betrayal felt fresh.

"You're still here?" The girl asked, her voice laced with hatred and resentment.

"Van, my child, come here. Don't get angry, you just got married today." Her mom smiled softly, motioning for her to come closer.

She frowned, "But mom, isn't she supposed to leave already? She might bring bad luck to our marriage, remember we're newly wed, and she reek of bad luck."

Her words didn't hurt me as I thought it would, maybe because we weren't that close, I just didn't like her. My gaze was fixed on Logan, who hasn't even spared me a glance, since he sat down, his once affectionate look had vanished completely, even when we locked eyes, it was just blank.

"What are you standing there for?, leave already, didn't you just hear what she said?!"

I flinched, as Logan's cold voice rang in my ear, my eyes stung with tears, which were threatening to fall. I clenched my fists tightly, even though I felt my nails sinking into my flesh, I felt no pain, it just felt numb.

My gaze, which was almost blurred with tears, darted from each and everyone of their faces and finally stopped at Logan, who didn't even bother to look at me, as if I was some kind of trash.

I nodded, and my tears fell, but I was quick to wipe it, and turned around and left the house.

As I walked out of the neighborhood, my heart heavy with ache and agony, I saw a figure standing in the shadows. A woman, watching me with an unnerving intensity.

I didn't bother to acknowledge her presence or pay any attention to her, until she walked towards me.

"What do you want from me?" I sobbed, quickly wiping away my tears.

"My name is Sophia," she replied. Isn't she the same woman from the church? I thought.

"And I'm here to tell you the truth about your past." She added.

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I realized that my journey was far from over. In fact, it was only just beginning.

Chapter 2 Drunk at the Club

NADIA'S POV

I followed Sophia, as we walked closer to what seemed like a club. You'd wonder why I keenly followed a stranger, that's because I didn't care anymore, the sting of their betrayal left me completely shattered and I was numb to care about whatever would happen to me.

THE SEDUCTION SUITE, that's the name of the club, as it was highlighted boldly in bright neon lights. As we stepped inside, the loud sound of blaring music, the thick air with intoxicating scents of perfumes, drinks and sex, flooded my head. The gleaming bar, stretched like a ribbon, lined with stools that shined in the light, rows of bottles arranged like Jewelries, and the bartender focused on mixing drink with flourish.

My gaze darted to the VIP area, the atmosphere was electric, a heavy mix of glamour, sophistication and raw energy. There were people there, but their faces was blurred with larges flakes of smoke, which oozed from their lips. I had a feeling, that they were people not to be trifled with.

Everything right in here enveloped me, giving me a fleeting escape from my troubles, but I knew it was just for tonight. We finally settled on one of the stools, Sophia eyeing the environment, like she was searching for someone, or should I say, not wanting to be seen by someone. I shrugged, not bothering to think about it.

"Two bottles of Vodka," Sophia said to the bartender who walked up to us. She gave me a glance, as if wanting to know if I was okay with what she ordered.

I mentally rolled my eyes, as how polite she was, wanting to know if I'm okay after she already ordered. It was her money anyway, cos I have none with me.

It wasn't long before the bartender arrived with the drinks and shots, which he placed on our table, our eyes met and he gave me a seductive wink before walking away.

Sophia looked around again, this time carefully before she faced me and began. Already I've gulped down one shot, ignoring the sharp and burning sensation I felt in my throat.

"Did your adoptive parents tell you why you were adopted?" Sophia asked, looking intently at me, although the lights were dim And I couldn't see her face properly, she was beautiful, but that was from a close view. A long and ugly scar was marred across her face, making her look less beautiful.

Her voice which seemed to be soft, yet devoid of any emotions, asked me again, when she didn't get an answer from me. I flinched, and looked away from her as I shook my head.

"Good then, I'll tell you and help you to be save, more people will come for you, once you're exposed to the city."

I frowned, "More people?"

"Yes," she nodded, and gulped down another shot. I did the same, trying to understand what she meant.

"Why would more people come after me?"

She chuckled dryly, "Hold on-" she said, and slowly took out what seemed like a paper from her pant pocket. It was a picture, a man, he looked to be in his middle age, why do we have the same features? No, I am a spitting image of him.

"Who's this?" I asked, utterly confused.

"Emperor Azura." she said, an emotion I couldn't fathom flashed in her eye, she shook her head, and her eyes was back to the normal aloof and dull look.

She glanced at me, as If contemplating to say something or not, she finally did.

"He's the Patriarch of the Azura's underworld activities."

"Underworld?!" I blurted out. Dose this still exist? Stories I've heard about the underground activities isn't close to nice, they are dangerous and cruel. I quickly poured myself another shot and gulped it down.

She immediately looked around ourselves again, to make sure no one was hearing us,

She looked at me again and I swear, I felt a sudden wave of adrenaline cursing through me.

She seemed to notice and smiled sweetly, the scar on her face making it look devious and evil like. "I mean no harm to you, if not, I would have hurt you before now" she said, putting back the picture into her pocket.

She might be right, I poured another drink and gulped it down, the drink seeme to have a small effect on me, as I felt the place spin for a while, but stopped immediately.

Sophia continued, "I'm sure you noticed the striking resemblance between you and the emperor, that's quite good, but extremely dangerous for you, especially if you're seen by the emperor's enemies."

I swallowed hard, my mind racing wildly as her words sank into me, oh my God, she isn't done talking.

"Emperor Azura died, leaving no clue about his death or what killed him, even the ring which his successor will have is nowhere to be found. He died, along with his wife and child, that's what everyone believes, but your appearance is hinting at something else." she glanced down, not moving or ready to say another word, I was dieing with anxiousness and curiosity, my fear was escalating.

I slowly turned around to observe the area, feeling like I was being watched, that's when our gaze met, he was in the VIP area, his face blurred with smoke, but his gaze was cold, dark and piercing, sending chills down my body. I quickly averted his gaze and focused on my table, I can still feel his gaze on me, it's was too piercing as if wanting to pry into my soul.

My hands were now shaking, so was mine feet, my mind racing wildly. Is he one of the emperor's enemy? Does he want me dead?

'No, he won't dare to do anything to me in here' I partially assured myself, gulping down another shot of Vodka, this time, I gulped down two shots at a go.

"I need to leave." Sophia suddenly said, her head still lowered.

"Why? We're not done yet, and what about me? Y.. you said you'll help me-" I said, my lips quivering as i found myself stuttering amidst my words.

"There might be an enemy of the emperor here, they might do something to me." I said, looking at the direction I saw the man earlier, but he wasn't there, he was gone. I swallowed, trying to calm my panicking and fear stricken mind, that's close to impossible.

Sophia gave me an apologetic look, and smiled, "How can I leave you? I need to use the restroom, I'll be back. If you don't believe me, hold this." She said, giving me a pendant, which was carved into a dragon, the tiny stones on it, shimmering under light. This might be expensive, with that i nodded and she left.

I emptied my bottle of Vodka, and yet Sophia hasn't arrived, i was tipsy now, "Did she really leave me?" I mumbled in my half drunken state, my heart stinging with pain, as I remembered Logan and my adoptive family, how they betrayed me, I sighed cursing my existence.

I slowly reached for her bottle which was across me, I gulped down each shot, still waiting for her, but she never returned till I was wasted, useless to even move my own body. I felt the whole place spinning, as my vision got blurred. I couldn't see a thing, so I slumped, resting my head on the desk, still hoping Sophia would arrive. My little extravagant wish.

"Hey sweetie, what are you doing here?" A male croacky voice came, I felt a slight tap on my shoulder, as the stranger's retching cologne wafted into my nose.

I was silent, unsure of what was happening around me. "Come with me," he said, trying to lift me up. I couldn't fight against him, as my whole body was numb and useless.

Chapter 3 Please Save me

NADIA'S POV

The man brought me into a dimly lit room, making it impossible for me to know where I was. He placed me on a bed, his fingers tracing the lines of my face.

"Such a cutie." He moaned, leaning to sniffle my neck, I instinctively shook him off me, awareness shooting through me, as I tried to be clear headed, but still felt dizzy and weak to my knees.

He seemed to frown for a while, which was quickly replaced with a chuckle, "I like that you're playing hard to get, it will make this night longer." He said, getting up to unbutton his shirt.

My throat was so dry that I had to cough, drawing his attention, "My sweetheart needs water," he smiled, and went to get a glass of water. I looked around the room, it was so dark that I couldn't find anything I could use to defend myself. Like I could defend myself in this state, I screamed internally, wishing I didn't come here with Sophia.

It wasn't long before he returned with a glass of water, which I gulped down quickly, purposely dropping the cup beside me.

"I need a wine to celebrate tonight, I must have saved an angel in my past life to get such a beauty for free tonight." He whined happily, moving away a bit.

He returned again, dropping the wine beside me. As he brought the wine to my lips, I slowly pushed it away, making the liquid pour on the bed.

Before I could think, his rough and hard palm landed on my cheek, leaving a painful impact on my cheek, I winced in pain, as my tooth ached. The raw metallic scent of blood filled my nostrils as I tasted them on my lips, I was bleeding, my lips were bleeding.

My eyes stung with pain, as I became a bit awake, conscious of where I was. I glanced at him, my vision blurred with tears. He was smiling, like that of a psychopath.

"Oh my God, my sweetheart, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you, I'm sorry-" he said, raising his thumb to wipe the blood away.

I quickly brushed his hands off me, slowly eyeing the bottle besides me, if he should come any closer.

"Don't be so stubborn, else I won't mind beating you up before fucking you. Be gentle and I'll make sure you enjoy it, now come here, come drink it up, don't spill it again." He warned, before bringing the wine to my lips again.

His eyes shimmered with intense warning and lust, I complied and gulped down the glass content. I'm not sure what he'll do this time if I were to spill the drink, so I drank it.

"Good girl" he smiled, "Now let's get to it." With this he leaned in, trying to kiss me, I dodged his advance, making him kiss the air. I can tell he was angry again, because he paused and glared at me - a warning glare.

"Undress" he suddenly said, moving away from me to down a glass which he poured himself.

I can't do that, "Pl..please.." I squeezed out pleadingly.

"Do you think I'm a joke?" He flared, smashing the glass on the wall, I flinched, as some particles slit my face, causing blood to gush out. One time he's normal, the next, he's like a deranged man.

As fast as I could blink, he was on me, like a mad man, his eyes red with anger and his veins popping out, he quickly ripped the dress on my upper body leaving my half naked breast on display for him. He swallowed, his eyes widening in lust, as his hands went straight to his groin.

I instantly hugged myself, covering my breast, as my tears fell, he lunged at me, giving me another hard, yet painful slap. I sobbed, quickly wiping my tears. "Spare me please, I..I.." I sobbed, hating my vulnerable self.

His scornful and wicked laughter echoed in the room, he paused and glanced at me, "How do you expect me to let go of such a gift the heavens has given me? Look at such smooth and succulent boobs, I can't wait to know how you'll taste, when I'm finally able to fuck you."

He pulled off his pants, leaving him in his underwear and bare upper body, he crawled slowly towards me, his hands trying to reach for my breast. No I couldn't let him, I quickly grabbed the bottle beside me and smashed it on his head, he screamed in pain, blood oozing from his head, the sight alone was frightening. I could hear him cursing me, as he clutched his head, wincing in pain.

Helplessly, I slowly got up from the bed, staggered my way to the door, just as I was about to unlock it, I felt my hair being forcefully dragged and pulled back.

"You think you can get away from me? No, you can't, no one can even hear your voice!" he smirked, his blood smeared face making him appear more ghastly, he hit me again, kicking me hard as I fell to the floor. I cried in pain, hugging myself, as I felt immense pain.

"I've been lenient with you, I'll just go straight to what I want!" With that, he ripped my clothes, leaving me half naked in my lingerie. He proceeded to rip off my bra, when there was a loud knock on the door.

I suddenly prayed that, whoever it was, would come save me, else I'll really die in the hands of this deranged man.

He paused, bringing his finger to his lips, signaling me not to make a sound, as if that would move me.

"Help someone!! Anyone there!!" I used all my might to scream, hoping the person would hear my voice. At least my voice wasn't totally lost.

He threw me a warning glare, meanwhile the knock on the door Intensified. Suddenly everywhere fell silent, the knock wasn't heard again, 'Did the person leave?' Fear engulfed me.

The man smiled wickedly and made to have his way on me again, but then, the door was suddenly kicked open from the outside. He flinched, as a group of three men walked into the room, dressed in black, their aura was cold and dangerous, simply speaking of danger. Just then, another man walked in, he seemed to be their boss, his followers aura was nothing compared to him, infact, he was the actual meaning of dangerous, and coldness. The dark lens covering his eyes, made him more unapproachable.

I felt my head spinning again, my vision suddenly turning blank, "Please Save me." I slowly muttered, before I blacked out.
