MY BILLIONAIRE LOVE

In the morning of a hot summer day on a private island owned by the King Family.

Charlotte sat on a beach chair in her bikini , designing some outfits for her winter collection , using her iPad pro , she was getting the final designing touch on the dresses, Dylan was beside her with his guitar playing her a song he wrote when he suddenly got up .

"Hey Char, I wanna to go for a swim , wanna come " Dylan said

"No ,thanks" Charlotte said

"Suit yourself, " Dylan said .

With that he took of his sun glasses and long shorts,

he was off in no time , took a deep dive into the water .

After a few minutes she decided to look up as she heard distant noises as if someone was calling unto her .

It was Dylan who seemed to be drowning and screaming for help . She looked around and wasn't able to spot the lifeguard .He must have gone for lunch.

She was wasting time if she didn't do something fast he might drown.

She just decided to look past her fears and go for the water to save her man .

Dylan was still far off and as she moved closer she could hear her heart beating faster .

She tried to swim but the tides were too strong , Charlotte finally got close to him , and he caught her in his arms and was spinning her .

He finally let go of her .

Ahhh!!! Charlotte exclaimed

He looked into her eyes .

"I just wanted to see how much you care for me" Dylan said

"You fool ,you almost gave me a scare ,I was thinking I was about to lose you " Charlotte said

"You are acting like a child "she added her heart beat sounding in her ears loudly.

"Hahahaha" Dylan laughed with a twinkle in his eyes

"You know Char , you must have gotten over your fear of water ."

Dylan said with his laughter stronger than ever.

"Are you really laughing at me , you almost gave me a scare right now " Charlotte said

"I am sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you" Dylan said

She gave him a long stare and laughed sarcastically.

"Since you are fine I am leaving this water , it is creeping me out "

Charlotte said

"Oh yeah let's get out of this water" Dylan said

"Wait Charlotte let's play a game , fastest to reach the shore " Dylan said .

"It is on , you are going down" Charlotte said with a smirk

They swam back to shore as fast as they could .

Charlotte got out of the water first.

"Yay!!!" She shouted and jumped up and down .

He got out of the water and stared at her for a minute and a smile came across his face .

"You know Char you are so cute " Dylan said

"Yeah yeah I beat you " Charlotte said and gave him a broad smile.

She picked up the towel from the chair to dry herself and threw him a towel to dry off. After drying herself she sat back to finish up with the designs.

He also took his seat and put on his glasses.

After a few minutes Dylan's phone rang .

"Hello Charles."Dylan said

"Hello Dylan " replied Charles

"Is there a problem " Dylan asked immediately

"Yes , the designer has not been notified " Charles replied in a serious tone.

" I wasn't supposed to be in today

, can't you take care of the problem" Dylan was getting irritated

"No!!! , It is beyond my control " Came a shout from Charles at the other end of the call.

"Okay ,Give me an hour or two, I will be there soon ." Dylan finally replied

"Bye sir "

"Bye Charles , see you soon " Dylan said ending the call

There was a long silence before Dylan signed out loud. He was irritated that he had to go into work when he was supposed to be on vacation.

"Is there a problem? " Charlotte asked, looking concerned and worried .

"Not really , it just that the designers have not arrived yet"

Dylan said

"Can I be of any help " Charlotte offered to help

" No don't worry about it , I will find a way " Dylan replied dryly

"Okay , but if you need anything let me know ". Charlotte said

Dylan stood up and gave her a kiss on the cheek .

"I'll call you soon , maybe we can

meet up after the day's work and chat " Dylan said

"Yeah, sure" Charlotte replied

"Bye Char " Dylan said, kissing her again .

"Bye D " Charlotte said.

It is in the evening and Charlotte is preparing a large course meal for 2 , because she knows that Dylan will be pretty exhausted and hungry when he gets here.

Her phone rings

"Hey Char, should I stop over and get pizza from Eleven Pizza hut "Dylan said.

"No , I have made dinner" Charlotte said

"Okay, I'll be home before you know it " Dylan said and ended the call

Charlotte went back to cooking the meal .

She brought out the chicken from the oven and put it on a tray and took it to the dining table.

Put up all the side dishes too and of course how can she forget the bottle of wine in ice , she places it on the table .

A few minutes later the doorbell rings .

Ding dong .

"Hey Alexa

Alexa unlock the front door " Charlotte said

"Unlocking the front door" Alexa said

Dylan enters

"Lock the front doors " Charlotte said

"Locking the front doors"Alexa said

"Hi Charlotte" he said kissing her temple "Woah, wasn't expecting this " Dylan said when he saw the huge spread on the table.

"You know me , I always deliver the best,'' Charlotte said proudly. She was proud of her work and happy about the endorsement she just received from her boyfriend

"Okay let's eat ,I am starving " Dylan said sitting back down.

"So how were you able to sort out the designer issue? "Charlotte asked while serving the food on a plate.

"Well, there is a problem but the problem with the designer seems halfway solved " Dylan said

"What do you mean?" Charlotte asked with an inquiry look

"I mean the materials that are sourced locally are not sufficient for the production we are into now , so we have to source for materials in other countries and it has been quite demanding for us." Dylan said

"Oh wow , what could be done now ?" Charlotte asked

"I don't know now Char " Dylan replied in a sad tone .

"Can we please talk about something else , I feel stressed talking about it , and besides I am hungry" ; Dylan added

Charlotte had her seat and they said a short prayer and started eating.

Dylan was so quick , without leaving room for any talk .

Few minutes passed and Charlotte watched him in amazement .

"Slow down the pace " Charlotte said with a hint of irritation. She had been dating Dylan for six years now and she had not gotten used to him eating so much as a beast.

"Char I am starving ,I haven't eaten all day ? " Dylan replied to Charlotte's statement and continued eating .

It was not because he was hungry. He had always been a big and fast eater. He finally finished his meal in just a short time .

Thank Charlotte for taking out time to cook for me, " Dylan added.

"You welcome"Charlotte said

"Would you care for more " Charlotte asked

"Yes please " Dylan replied with a wink .

She gave him some more food. They topped everything with a chocolate cake from the fridge .

"Would you care to join me in doing the dishes?" Charlotte asked

"I am extremely full Char , I cannot even move my legs easily,

Maybe some other time . "

Dylan replied

"Okay " Charlotte said with disappointment flushed over her look which she tried to hide. She always felt like she was doing more than him in the relationship.

She had to constantly go out of her way to make sure he was doing okay and good but he barely wanted to do anything for her.

Dylan moved to Charlotte's couch and before she was done , Dylan was fast asleep .

When she was done she just went over to check on him .

She got a blanket from the closet and covered him with it .

"Goodnight," Charlotte said, kissing his forehead .

In the morning the smell of omelet , bacon and fresh pancakes woke Dylan up from his sleep .

"Good morning Char "

Dylan said, removing the blanket from his body .

"Good morning D , how was your night? " Charlotte said with a beaming smile .

"It was good and yours " Dylan replied

She set down their breakfast on the dining table .

They both ate the food

"Mom's birthday is in a few days "Charlotte said

"Oh ! That is true , I might not be available for the party because I will be going on a business trip . but I would not forget to send her a gift " Dylan said

"Well that will be appreciated"

Charlotte said

After he was done he thanked her for the food and did his dishes

"Charlotte I best be on my way now , I will call you when I get back " Dylan said kissing her

Charlotte stood up from where she was sitting and walked him all the way to the door

"Bye D " Charlotte said

He gave her another kiss and hugged her tightly before letting go .

"I will let you know when I have returned, " Dylan said .

He waved at Charlotte from the window of his car and she waved back .

She went into the house to take a shower and prepare for work .

It is Evelyn king 45th birthday . Everywhere in their magnificent garden is decorated with flowers. There is beautiful lightning from the gate of the garden .

Guests are in every corner. A 3 stair cake was mounted with other small cakes at the sides just at the left hand of the stage . Charlotte was looking at the cake .

"Hi Char "Dylan said, tapping Charlotte on her back .

"Hello D" Charlotte said jumping and hugging him

"I didn't think you would come since you said you where to go on a business trip "

Charlotte said

"Ohh!!! Char" he said holding her waist

"You know I would never miss Mom's birthday for the world ,

I actually cut my trip short .

Where is mom , I got a gift for her " Dylan said

"Awnn , that's so thoughtful , what did you get her?" Charlotte said, looking at the gift bag in his hand .

"That's a secret" he said with a wink

"Now where is the birthday girl? " Dylan said, tugging Charlotte's arm to come along .

"Over there "Charlotte said and pointed towards her mom,

"Ohh!!! " Dylan said

They both walk over to where mom was standing

"Hello Evelyn " Dylan said

"Happy birthday , I got this for you "

He said

"Oh Dylan , you didn't have to ,

Thank you" Evelyn said

"Well don't mention it , I am just doing what I have to" . Dylan said

She gave her assistant to keep the gift on the gift table .

Suddenly as they were standing all together enjoying the scenery and everyone charting .Elvis Presley music can't help falling in love was being played .

Well what are you both doing here not enjoying the party , go on and dance . Evelyn said and she pushed the both of them out to the dance floor.

"Hey, may I have this dance, my lady ?"Dylan asked, kissing her hand .

She blushed very noticeably.

"Yes , you may ?" Charlotte said , taking his hand

"I am so sorry for my mom's behavior, sometimes she can get too pushy ".

Charlotte said

"Why are you apologizing? She is my mom too you know " Dylan said

Slow music started playing , she rested her head on his chest and he held her so close .

They continued dancing to the music but she raised her head to see her man. He seemed to be distracted and Charlotte doesn't seem to know why .

"How are you feeling today? " Charlotte said and no response from Dylan

Then she touched his cheeks and asked the question again .

"How are you feeling D?" Charlotte said

"Stressed," Dylan said, looking into her eyes and kissing her nose a little bit.

"You seem to be a little distracted" Charlotte said

"I am sorry" Dylan said

"I am just nervous" Dylan said

Looking into her eyes why they danced

"Why is that?" She asked

"I will soon be hearing from the investors soon and that is why I feel anxious" Dylan said, stopping the dance to clean his excess perspiration with his handkerchief.

Charlotte collects the handkerchief from him and begins to wipe his sweat from his face

"You know , I know a guy who once told me not to fear anything at all that he is here for me no matter what " Charlotte said still cleaning his forehead

"Where is that guy huh " she stopped cleaning his forehead and touched his chest with her hand

He got her hand , kissed it and put it back on his chest

"He is right here" Dylan said with a little bit of courage rising within.

Charlotte was so happy to hear that he was getting a little bit better.

"I just want you to know that I am here for you no matter what happens " Charlotte said

The song finally ended .

Charlotte gave him a courtesy , he returned it, Charlotte tugged on his arm till they left the dance floor to have their seats .

Just as Charlotte was about to have her seat , she was called out by Dave .

Dave seems to have changed a lot over the past few years . Charlotte doesn't seem to recognize him .

"Hi Charlotte , how have you been?" Dave asked with a smile

"I have been fine " Charlotte replied

"Oh wow that's nice " Dave replied

" You are "Charlotte asked

Just as Dave was about to respond .His phone rang .

"Please excuse me " Dave said

Apparently it seemed like a distress call because he left in a haste without introduction .

Which left her with the thought in her mind

'Who was that , how does he know her ,well who doesn't who me 'Charlotte thought to herself and shrugged off thinking about who he was .

Dylan didn't even seem to care ,so she just sat down .

Charlotte seems to be a little distracted , giving her fans updates on her Mom's birthday party .

While they were sitting Charlotte was taking pictures of herself and uploading them to her Instagram.

While Dylan seems to be giving Sophie a few glances here and there .He was very courteous not to allow anyone to notice.

But Khloe , Charlotte's assistant , was silently watching him .

Danielle Charlotte's 2nd cousin passed by Khloe who pulled her to the side which was hardly noticeable by others at the party

"Hi Danielle " Khloe said ecstatically

"Hi Khloe , why did you pull me like that " Danielle asked raising her eyebrow

Khloe, an underground gossip , with all the latest gist was just trying to tell people the news she knew , some people tried to avoid her , while some around her heard the latest gossip which she seemed to give at a price.

"It nothing exactly " Khloe said

"Okay then ,see you around " Danielle said .

"Wait Danielle " Khloe said

"I knew it" Danielle said loudly

"Have you seen the way Dylan has been giving glances at Sophie " , said Khloe .

"Nooo " Danielle said

Danielle looked at Dylan and he seemed to be looking at his phone .

"You know keep you assumptions to your self to avoid, unnecessary

discussion which are not true ,they are doing fine "

Danielle said and walked away angrily .

Khloe just left the party feeling embarrassed at Danielle's words and went into the walkway to leave just when she remembered Charlotte's invitation tomorrow so she went back into the party to let her know about it .

"Good evening Miss, " Khloe said, crouching to the ear level of Charlotte.

"Good evening Khloe " Charlotte returned the greetings

Khloe opened her purse and handed her the invitation

Charlotte read through the invitation.

"The Amari brand has a press conference tomorrow and you have been invited " Khloe said

"I do not wish to attend any press conference for now" Charlotte replied

"It is regarding their new clothing line " Khloe said

"Khloe we have so much work to do" Charlotte said "The designs for the winter collection are not ready yet " she added in a knowing voice.

"Okay Ma'am" Khloe said

"We'll speak about this at the office" Charlotte said

"I'll be on my way , it's getting late, wish your Mom a happy birthday for me " Khloe said

"Sure , goodnight "Charlotte said

Khloe left the party hastily .

A few minutes later

They sang happy birthday to Evelyn.

There was the cutting of the cake and Charlotte was being called up to take pictures with her mom.

Dylan was still seated looking at the family pictures unfold .He was called.

"Hey Dylan , come take a picture with us " Steve Charlotte's elder brother said

"Yeah why are you standing there, come take a picture with us" Maxwell Charlotte's father said, calling out to Dylan .

"Dylan, come take a picture with us" everyone echoed .

After all the pictures were completed , Evelyn thanked everyone for coming to the party .

One after the other people said their goodbyes to Evelyn and left .

Dylan also came by where Evelyn and Maxwell was standing thanking all the guest for coming and said he was leaving

"Goodnight Mr King ,Good night Mrs King " Dylan said

"Thank you for coming Dylan and good night"Evelyn said as she greeted Dylan with a huge hug.

Charlotte walked with him all the way to his car, hugged in the lighted up driveway and they kissed good night

'Wow what a night '. Charlotte thought as she walked back into the garden.

Her thought went back to the guy she saw earlier.

'Who was he? she thought.

'How did he even get in here ' Charlotte thought

'Why did he sound so familiar ? '.

Like they have known each other before.

But she couldn't remember .

'He was handsome and cute'.

Charlotte thought about wandering for a long time .

That she couldn't hear her mom calling her from a distance.

'Who ever he is she would have to find out somehow . Maybe the security would help and know who he is, there was a guest list after all ,his name and details would be on the list '.

Evelyn called out to her again.

"Charlotte !!!! " Evelyn Shouted

Charlotte was brought back to reality

"Yes mom ". Charlotte answered.

"Hey honey , what's the matter , you seem all tensed "Evelyn said

"It nothing ,I cannot handle" Charlotte said

"You called me ,is everything okay?"Charlotte asked .

"Everything is fine, I just wanted you to come in "Evelyn answered

It is a hot Saturday morning .

The King's Family ,The Sky Family , The Kingston , The Nain are all enjoying the countryside mini golf course which belongs to the King's family almost near their Mini Mansion .

Dylan and Charlotte seem to be together as Charlotte is learning a few tricks from Dylan.

The wives seem to enjoy bonding and primarily boasting about their husband's success . While the children seem to each be in their own worlds either surfing the internet or chatting amongst themselves , things seem to have changed over the years .

The guys are going over to play at the mini golf course.

"Hey Dylan , come play with us " Steve said

All the children stand up from where they are sitting to go watch their elder brothers play .

Charlotte and her younger sister Genesis both decide to go get some snacks and drinks at the snack table and soon the rest join to get something to eat too .

The older ones stand in a corner discussing their recent involvement in their parents businesses and how they hate and love it . Some complain while the others boast.

"Dylan so how are things between you and my sister going " Daniel king asked

"Yeah Dylan ,we really want to know When are you finally going to pop the question?" Steve king said

"It is going well and I would let everyone know in due time" Dylan said

"You know it has been so long since we all went out for a drink " Ben Nain said

"Yeah " Emmanuel Kingston affirms

"How about tonight? " Ben Nain asked

"Tonight fine with me " Steve king replied

"Yeah tonight good" Adam Nain replied

"Can't do tonight guys , I am taking Charlotte out on a date ,how about some other time" Dylan replied.

"Okay , then we'll tell you how things went ." Ben said

"Sure ,how about next time ?" Dylan ask

"Yeah " They all chorused

As the game continued.

As it is getting quite hot , all the children can think of is getting inside and eating .

The younger boys decide to go play Ps5 .

The elder girl tries chatting which doesn't end well because there are only 3 people that are willing to talk .

Charlotte finally drags Genesis and Michelle inside to go watch a movie in their mini theater.

"Madam lunch is served" The Butler yells .

Soon afterwards everyone comes inside to sit and eat .

"This is a fine meal , I must commend you for having a good chef and the wine is magnificent . ." Maya Sky comments

"We get only the finest chef we have and the wine is from Hong Kong. It is very rare ." Evelyn said with a smile across her face and rubbing her husband's chest

In a bid to boast Evelyn called out for more wine to be served .

"Hmmm " the others let out as they had a taste of the wine .

Charlotte seems not to be eating so as to make space for the food Dylan promised her at Marietta Diner .

I just wasn't working because she stuffed herself in seconds as she savored the chicken that passed by her .

The meal seemed to be rather

quiet .

Afterwards , the Children stood one after the other and thanked Mr and Mrs King for the meal . They each went into the living room . The parents in no time were done and they joined in .

Afterwards everyone was saying their goodbyes and leaving the house.

Charlotte and Dylan also went to the front porch .

"I come pick you up by 7 Char " Dylan said

Charlotte waved at him as he entered his car .

He entered his car and waved back .

He was off .

Charlotte went and said her goodbye and was off again to her own world .

Inside her car . She started thinking of Dylan.

'Dylan seemed a little bit unusual , possibly stressed for some reason , that I cannot figure out ' Charlotte thought .

'He seemed rather distant '. Charlotte thought.

These days she cannot seem to keep her mind off him .

He was not kissing her like he used to .

The thought seemed to bother her.

He was giving a lot of excuses about why they cannot meet.

'He either has a meeting or he has to prepare for something , it was just one thing or another .'Charlotte thought

'Maybe I'll make him his favorite and pack up lunch one of these days ,maybe that will cheer him up ' Charlotte thought.

She continued driving.

In Charlotte home .

She is putting on makeup .

Charlotte is putting on a beautiful

strapless red dress .

With a fantasy heel and putting on her favorite Allure perfume and body mist .

It was going to be a special night.

Dylan had postponed all their dates because he was busy at work .It was their anniversary in weeks time and Charlotte insisted they go on a date before then .

Dylan seemed adamant but after pleading with him it finally paid off .

It was exactly 7:00 o'clock Dylan arrived on time as usual

Dylan rang her up to come downstairs.

She put cherries in her indoor dog house and put some food for her in her dog bowl .

She was done with everything and came out the door . She waited beside the door waiting for Dylan to open the doors , but he just stayed in the car .

Dylan did not even understand what was in Charlotte's head and why she stood beside the car instead of getting in and he knocked on the window for her to stop wasting time . .

She finally got into the car after a few minutes of waiting for him to show courtesy .

She sat down and strapped her seat belt in .

"Hey Char" Dylan said

She shrugged .

"What's the problem Char , why were you standing out there instead of getting into the car ?" Dylan asked

She wanted to lash out for the first time in a long time , but stopped herself and just gave a one sided smile .

"I am good D " Charlotte said

"But you don't sound too good Char , you sure you are okay " Dylan said

"Yeah , I am D " Charlotte said

"If you say so " Dylan said

Charlotte being hurt by his actions , not wanting to further any argument , just sat by herself , looking out the window .

‚In their 6 years of dating , Dylan has always opened the doors , what was the sudden change 'Charlotte wondered .

She enjoyed the attention she got from it and strived to get it every time .

The vibe in the car was totally off as Charlotte was silent and not being all cuddly and talkative as she used to be . Dylan wanted to lighten the mood .

He first tried to rack his brain to see what the problem was , he couldn't find any , Really .

He just decided to play music instead of further trying to get her to talk.

They were soon at Marietta diner .

They got out of the car .

As he checked in with their reservations .

Charlotte wondered why he had become so indifferent to her feelings .

There were a million and one things going on in Charlotte's mind .

Dylan held Charlotte's waist and led her to the chair where they were to sit .

She expected the same princess treatment but was still put down .

They ordered their meals .

The meals came .

Charlotte was expecting Dylan to make a move on her .

Instead he used his phone almost throughout the meal .

They said a few words to each other . Just like 2 strangers having a meal together .

The meal was finally over and she didn't even want to eat dessert .

Dylan wanted to eat the dessert so she just went to wait in the car for him.

Charlotte plugged in her airpods , to let go of the intrusive thoughts plaguing her mind .

Dylan finally arrived from afar. He seemed to be on a call with someone but approaching her , he just stopped the call and got in .

"Who were you talking to ? '' Charlotte asked

"Charles, " Dylan replied casually .

"Why does it matter " he asked

"No reason, " she said .

After everything , they arrived at her home and he kissed her good night .

Charlotte went inside and removed her shoes and took a shower .

'What could be on Dylan's mind , Charlotte wondered , he seems so distant and distracted lately ' Charlotte thought as she layed on her bed .

She just dismissed the thought and tried to go to sleep .
