MOM

My name's Brianna Quinn, I'm 28 years old. The proud owner of B Architecture and interior designs. I started this company at the age of 20 and here I am today. It wasn't easy though but I had support from my mum and siblings. They were there for me and I couldn't be more thankful their support. My company is everything to me and I don't take shot from anyone, my employees know best not to mess with me.

People think am a bitch and a sassy one at that but honestly am not. Am a lonely girl. I once had a best friend before college but I guess our friendship wasn't at all that important to her. All the people that I meet pretend to be "friends" when in reality it's just a way of gaining connection in the business world. I mean how can you pretend to be someone's friend for the sake of money and fame?. I just don't get it.

Am the only one left in the office and it's late so let's call it a night. I need my bed honestly. Taking my bag and stuffing my laptop in it, I grabbed my car keys. Switching off my computer, I head home.

I make my way to my private elevator into my parking lot. I was about to open my car, today I decided to ride my Maybach to work, I was startled by a voice. I looked beside me and I saw a teenager about 15 or 16 years old, dirty, skinny and he looked hungry.

Hello ma'am, he said.

"Can I get $5? I need to get something for my siblings to eat, they've been hungry for two days now.

What the actual fuck. Two days? I thought.

"Honey, where are your parents? it late and dangerous for you and your siblings.

"B-both our parents abandoned us to fend for our selves. We have no place to stay and I couldn't get a job to feed my siblings He said almost crying. He's trying not to sound vulnerable and I can see that.

"Can you take me to your siblings? I asked.

He looked reluctant. I just want to help I promise.

Ok, please come with me.

When we got to his siblings, my heart shattered into pieces, who in their right mind would leave this precious kids on the streets. I didn't know I was crying until I felt two little hands on my cheeks trying to wipe my tears, I saw that it was a boy about 2 years old making me cry even more.

"Don cway" he said in his baby voice. Wiping my tears I picked him up settling him on my hips, I look at the oldest.

"Are you from the same parents? I asked.

"yes" he replied.

"How about you kids come with me to my house?.

Ar- are you sure ma'am?

"Yes honey, I can't leave you guys here it's too dangerous. And you need to be fed, clothed and treated.

The two girls, one about 13 and the other, if am not mistaking should be 7 or 8 years old looked at their brother skeptically.

I knew I can't leave them like this, I could take care of the them. I've got the money, proper shelter and I could send them to a proper school too. its too dangerous out here for the boy, the girl and the little one.

I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't hear the boy talking.

"Oh sorry", what did you say?.

"I said we will go with you.

"Are you serious? "yes ma'am. I hugged him. I am so happy that they agreed to come with me.

The little one was already sleepy and I couldn't help but feel like a mother hen.

Let's go home guys. The little guy snuggled into my chest and I a automatically wrapped my arms around him wrapping him into my jacket to keep him warm untill we got home.

When we got to the car, they all hesitated to enter.

What's wrong ? you guys okay? I asked

The older girl answered,. "won't we dirty your car?.

"Oh come on honey, don't stress yourself over it . it's just a car.

You kids should get in it's cold out here.

The elders got in the front and the girls in the back and the little guy was already asleep and he has a dead grip on my jacket not letting go, so I guess we're driving together.

Once settled we drove to my penthouse.

When we got to my penthouse, I could hear gasps coming from the kids, they were looking on awe making me smile at their innocent reactions.

I turn of the car and we got out. I adjusted the little one in my arms and we make out way to the house getting into the elevator to the 24th floor where I live. I punched in my password and we make our way in. the kids ran in looking around the house. l laid the little guy on the couch. I saw that the oldest was standing in the balcony, you could see New York City and how beautiful it is at night from there.

I walked up to him. "it's beautiful isn't it?

"yeah it is". Why are you helping us?

"Because I can't leave you guys all alone out there. Trust I've taken a liking in you kids and I want to adopt you guys if that's okay with you?

" You want to adopt us? I didn't know the girls heard us talking. " yes I want to adopt you kids".

"you are going to be our mommy? the younger female asked. "Yes if that's okay with you".

"We would love to have you as our Mom.

I hugged all three of them.

"Thank you so much, you kids don't know how happy you've made me today.

" No, you've made us happy by giving us the love of a mother even though you just met us, that just shows that humanity still exists.

Ok kids am so happy today. You guys sit down while I get you some hot chocolates to warm you up. Then we can introduce ourselves and get to know each other ok?. They nodded smiling making my own smile widen.

Five minutes later, I came back with three cups of hot choco and handed it to them.

"So I'll go first. My name's Brianna Quinn and am the CEO of B Architecture and interior designs. It feels like high school where we have to introduce ourselves.

I'm Damien, am 16years old and I want to be an architect in future he said. He's name is Luca and he's 2 years old will be turning 3 in two weeks, Damien said pointing at a sleeping Luca.

"Awwwwn, my baby is turning three. I gushed.

"I'm Lisa and am 14 years old, I love fashion and I want to be a fashion designer in future. Lisa said.

And she's Emma, she's six years old. Lisa said pointing to a shy Emma.

"I love to play dress up, Emma said cutely.

Now that we've introduced each other, I'll just call my assistant to get you guys clothes for tonight then we can go shopping tomorrow morning. How does That sound?

"Sounds like a plan mom. Damien said.

I could help but get emotional, these kids mean a lot to me. I called my assistant and gave the orders of what to get the kids according to their ages.

It was 8:30pm, I was still getting to know the kids, their likes and dislikes. Emma was snuggled to me on my lap getting sleepy, Lisa was on my right and Damien was on my left when we heard the door bell. I was about toge the door when I was stopped by Damien.

"I got it mom, and he went to get the door. He came back with some shopping bags and my assistant Joana was behind him.

" Good evening ma'am. She greeted.

"Evening Joana, thanks for coming on short notice.

"it's alright ma'am. I guess they the kids you told me to get clothes for? " Yes they are.

" please drop the bags on the couch and clear my schedule for the next two weeks, I won't be coming in to work. Can you handle the office while am away? "Sure ma'am.

"Ok thanks. If anything comes up, you can email me the details. I'll be working from home.

"ok ma'am. Have a good night.

Let's head upstairs so you can each choose your rooms. Dame help me with Luca, I said picking Emma who was asleep already. Damien chose the room opposite mine, Lisa chose the on my left and I went to the room opposite Damien's to get a sleeping Emma ready for bed while the oldest each went to get ready for bed. I asked Damien to place Luca on my bed with his bag.

Once Emma was settled in bed and sleeping, I make my way to my room to change into my night wear. I changed Luca and place him properly on the bed and I slid in beside him and went to sleep.

I woke up as early as 5:30am in the morning. I was always a morning person. I decided to call my mom to tell her everything and she was very happy and couldn't wait to meet the kids. I decided to take my bath and get dressed for the day, we have a long day ahead of us today with so much to do. Once it was 6:30 am I headed down stairs to get started on breakfast. I decided to make pancakes, omelette, bacon with fruit juice for the kids, coffee for me and milk for Luca. I headed upstairs. I went into Damien's room first.

Slightly patting his cheeks " Good morning my boy, it's time to get up. He opened his eyes, Good morning mom.

" morning, I chirped. Get Ready and come down for breakfast. Am going to wake the girls up.

I woke Lisa up and she's getting ready. I helped Emma get dressed and went to wake up the little guy.

Once in my room I found him awake already."Good morning sunshine. I beamed at him.

"Mamma was the first thing he said and I couldn't help but feel a sudden burst of affection. He made grabby hands for me to pick him up.

"Did you sleep well?. he nodded . Then let's get ready. I got Luca ready and we went down stairs. I found the kids already at the dining table.

After breakfast, we were sitting in the living room.

" Kids we have a lot to do today. We have to go shopping, then the hospital so that you can get checked up, then I have to call my lawyer so that I can get custody of the four of you.

"Wait Mom, Dame interrupted. "You want to get custody of us?. Like you're willing to give us your last name?.

"Yes dear, the moment I said I wanted to adopt you guys I meant giving you my last name too. I may not be the one that gave birth to you kids but you're my kids and I would anything to keep you safe. You're my responsibility now, I was lonely before I met you but now I look forward to better days with my kids. That's how much I love. You guys mean the whole world to me.

By the time I was done, they had tears in their eyes and soon I was engulfed in a group hug. I felt complete. After our little emotional Breakdown, we got started with our activities for the day.

I called my lawyer and he assured me that he would help me the job done as fast as he could so that the kids Will be officially mine and would be able to carry my surname. With that being done we went to the hospital, I was able to get an appointment with my doctor who happens to be a pediatrician too.

We got to the hospital and series of test were done on the kids to see if they have any issues or allergies. Damien, Lisa and Emma were given the green signal but the doctor found out that Luca has serious peanut allergy so we were warned to be careful of what he eats.

Now we are at the front of the shopping mall when Lisa spoke up.

"Mom? yes ?

" Why don't we start with Damien's shopping the mine and Emma's and lastly Luca?.

"Sure honey, that's a great idea. what do you think. I asked looking at Emma and Damien. "Yes mom.

am in. Yayyy.

Mommy will I get many toys? Emma asked.

" Yes love, anything for you.

We went to shop for Damien first, then the girls. It was fun with Damien and Lisa bickering at each other. Damien being the over protective brother saying the clothes Lisa is choosing are too small or exposing too much skin. I allowed her choose what she wants and refused the inappropriate ones. She a teenager so it's best to let her explore the clothing that suits her personality. Now we are at the baby section, we all picked out what was suitable for Luca letting him decide on some on his own and he was having so much and I couldn't stop smiling. we were done finally.

We bought clothes, bags, shoes,toys, head bands and jewelry for the girls and all other necessities. We still have to go electronic shopping but we decide to have lunch at the restaurant close to the mall. After placing our orders and waiting for it. I asked the kids the color they want their room to be decorated in.

"Damien, what color do you want your room to be?

" uhmm... I want it to be grey and ash.

What about you girls. " I want mine to be two shades of purple,light and dark purple to be precise. Lisa said.

"And I want mine to be pink just like a princess. Emma said happily and we all laughed. I looked down at Luca on my lap who was busy Playing with hair.

"Baby? I called. He looked at me. "What color do you want your room to be?

"No he said. Why baby, you don't want your room to be painted?.

"No, he said again. I sweep with mamma.

Awwwwn that's okay baby. You will be sleeping with me then we can paint your room later okay?.

Our food arrived and we dug in.

Next we went to the phone store. Damien and Lisa both got the latest iphone 13 pro max, two sketching notepad, ipads etc.

Third Person Pov

When they were done with the purchase of the gadgets, they decided to go back home as it was getting close to Luca and Emma's nap time. The rest of the purchase would be done online.

While Emma and Luca were napping, Brie, Damien and Lisa decided to purchase the remaining items . They bought TVs, stuffs. they would need to decorate each room with, a car sit, paints and much more which was going to be delivered the following day.

"Mom? Lisa called, why don't we paint the rooms ourselves? itt will be more fun. " That's a great idea, that way we can spend time together". "Am in, Damien agreed. " Since we're done with our purchase, am going to look up for schools so I can enroll you guys and a daycare for Luca, Brie said.

"ughh" they both groaned. You guys need to go school so you can make momma proud, said a smiling Brie.

It was late in the afternoon, Brie and the kids were in the sitting room. Brie was bonding with them when the door bell rang. "I'll get it " said Lisa getting up to open the door for the visitor. At the door stood a man in suit holding a briefcase in his hands, he looked to be in his late thirties or so.

"May I come in? "Sure Lisa answered opening the door wide for him to get in. They made their way to the living.

"Lisa honey, who's at the door?. Brie's asked while getting up and letting Luca play with his new toy cars. "Oh Mr Matin, pleasure to see you soon, I thought we would be meeting a little later. Were you able to get the files of the children?. Mr Matin is a competent lawyer and one of the best, he has been Brie's lawyer since she started Brie's Architecture and interior designs. There's possibly no one she could trust who could handle the task at hand. "Yes Miss Quinn, I was able to get their files and the adoption papers. I came here to get your signature and the kids are your officially and they can carry your last name. All the while the kids and were listening to the lawyer with tears in their eyes. The kids rushed to hug their new Mom.

" Thanks Mom you're the best thing that's ever happened to us, yesterday we had no mother or father figure in our lives and today we have a mother, you are really a blessing sent to us" Lisa cried. "Yes mom and we promise to make you proud" Damien said. After a few more tears of joy, Brie signed the adoption papers. Now the kids name are Damien Quinn,Lisa Quinn,Emma Quinn and Luca Quinn. It was such a happy day for them and their mom.

It was 9:00pm and the kids have gone to bed. Brie tucked Emma to sleep after reading her a book. While Luca has been put to bed an hour ago. kissing Emma on her forehead "Goodnight baby"

"Good night mommy, I love you. "Love you too honey. She exited the room to check on Lisa.

She knocked on Lisa's door. "Come in". She entered the room. Lisa was already in bed with on of the many books she ordered online. "Mom". " Hey honey, you okay?

"Yes? Mom. Why don't we have some girls time. "Sure Mom. Lisa replied giving Brie more space on her bed. They talked for a while when she noticed Lisa was already sleepy comfortably on her chest hugging her tight. She kissed her forehead and slowly got out bed and tucked her properly. "Good night honey" She said quietly and exited the room.

She made her way to Damien's room to check on him too. knocking on the door she heard a faint response" come in". She found him by his reading table, his sketch book in front of him with a pencil, busy sketching god knows what. Brie made her way to the desk. "Damien? Hey mom, you're still up, yes mom, am just trying to finish this. He said showed her what he was doing. it was a flower. Brie couldn't help but be more proud. He wants to be an architect but he also could be an artist if he wants to. Kissing his forehead, She bade him good night and told him not to stay up late and exited the room to hers. She changed into her night ware which consisted of shorts and matching top. She got into bed pulling Luca close to her who immediately snuggled into her chest.

Brie thought of how her life changed in the span of four days. It was a feeling of deja Vu and she looks forward to every bit of it. Tomorrow is going to be another day, she decided to get some sleep making a mental note to look for schools to enroll the kids. Good thing,it was the beginning of a fresh term to they won't have worry about catching up much. She later succumbed to darkness falling into a dreamless sleep.

The next morning, Brie woke up around 6:30

am. She went to the bathroom to carry out her daily business, once done, she glanced at Luca who. was sleeping soundly, leaving him to sleep a little more she made her way out of the bed room the wake the older ones. She knocked on Damien's door first. "Damien wake up and come down for breakfast." "Almost done Mom".

"Wake up Lisa and Emma then come down for breakfast. You have 30 minutes."

"Ok" he replied. She woke up Luca, after bathing him, she dressed him a cute jeans and bat man shirt finishing his look with White Gucci baby sneakers. She couldn't help but gush about how cute he looked. Together they went downstairs to. the kitchen to gett breakfast.

Placing Luca in his high chair, she prepared pancakes with honey and jam. Cutting Luca's into tiny chunks she fed him first while waiting for the rest to come down.

5 minutes later, she heard footsteps coming into the kitchen.

"Good morning Mom. Damien said kissing her cheeks, Lisa did the same.

"Good morning Mommy " Emma greeted. Brie got down to her height and kissed her forehead.

Breakfast was good filled with laughter and the banter between Dame and Lisa. Brie smiled at their antics.

After breakfast, Dame was doing the dishes when the door bell rang. The things they purchased were being delivered. After the delivery, Brie tipped the delivery boys well, they thanked her and left.

it took them two days to finally finish the painting of each room and arranging it. It turned out perfect and. they proud of their work.

Damien's room was more calming and suits his calm personality while Lisa's was more girly and sparkly and Emma was also girly and more princess like. Luca's was more of a baby room but boyish.

They were having dinner when their mom announced that she has enrolled them in a school 30 minutes away from her company and Luca in kindergarten 5minutes from her work place so she can easily drop them off and pick them up and they can come visit her in the office after school hours.

"Luca's third birthday is next week, Brie announced." we have to start planning.

" I love parties, Emma beamed.

"since spider man is Luca's favorite character, we should make it a spiderman themed party and a spiderman cake. Lisa suggested.

"That's a great idea Lis.

"So it's settled. Damien said. Spiderman cake and themed party.

I'll call the cake bakery and the decorators so that we can get everything set.

Brie also wanted to use that opportunity so that her mum and siblings can meet the kids.
