Chapter 1 A Gamer's Frustration

Xi'an Liu slumped in his gaming chair, his eyes fixed on the screen as his character, "Liu_Xi'an_88," fell to the ground for the umpteenth time. The words "Game Over" taunted him in bold, red letters. His frustration was palpable, the tension in his shoulders and clenched fists a testament to his growing anger.

"Why can't I beat this guy?" Xi'an muttered to himself, his mind racing with strategies and tactics. He had tried everything - different weapons, different skills, different tactics - but nothing seemed to work. Eternal Arena, the game he had been playing nonstop for weeks, was driving him crazy.

Just then, his phone buzzed. It was his mom. "Hey, sweetie, your dad and I are coming over to visit. We'll bring dinner."

Xi'an groaned, not wanting to be interrupted from his gaming session. "Mom, can't it wait? I'm in the middle of something."

"What's more important than spending time with your family?" his mom asked, her voice firm but gentle.

Xi'an sighed, knowing he couldn't avoid her. "Fine, mom. Come on over."

As he waited for his parents to arrive, Xi'an tried to focus on the game again. But his mind kept wandering, thinking about how much he didn't want to have this conversation with his parents. They just didn't understand his passion for gaming.

And to make matters worse, the new game he had ordered, "Demon Apocalypse," was still on its way. He had been waiting for weeks, and he was starting to get anxious. He had heard great things about the game, and he was expecting it to be a major improvement over the first one.

As he waited for his parents to arrive, Xi'an couldn't help but think about the new game. He had high expectations for it, and he was hoping it would be the key to finally beating his nemesis, the pesky mage.

But for now, he was stuck in this frustrating cycle of defeat and disappointment. And to make matters worse, his parents were about to arrive, and he knew they would only add to his frustration.

Xi'an's parents walked in, carrying a big bowl of his favorite pasta and a concerned expression. "Hey, sweetie, how are you doing?" his mom asked, giving him a hug.

"I'm fine, mom," Xi'an replied, trying to sound convincing.

His dad set the pasta down on the table. "We brought your favorite dinner. Thought we could catch up and talk about what's going on in your life."

Xi'an sighed, knowing this was going to be a long night. "Dad, mom, I'm really busy with this game right now. Can we talk later?"

His mom frowned. "Xi'an, you've been playing that game for weeks. When are you going to take a break and focus on your real life?"

Xi'an felt a surge of frustration. "My real life is this game, mom. It's what I love, and it's what I'm good at."

His dad put a hand on his shoulder. "We understand that you're passionate about gaming, son. But there's more to life than just a game. You need to think about your future, your career, your relationships..."

Xi'an shook his head, feeling like they just didn't get it. "You don't understand, dad. This game is my future. It's what I want to do with my life."

Just then, the doorbell rang. Xi'an's heart skipped a beat as he jumped up from his chair. "That must be the delivery guy with my new game!"

He rushed to the door, his parents following close behind. Xi'an tore open the package, his eyes widening as he saw the box art for "Demon Apocalypse

His parents exchanged a worried glance, but Xi'an didn't care. He was too busy tearing open the box and inserting the disc into his console.

As the game booted up, Xi'an felt a sense of excitement wash over him. This was it – all he needed was to refresh himself with this then return to Eternal Arena and becoming the champion he knew he was meant to be. Then it happened the game began to warp and images became distorted, while a cold shiver ran down his spine.

Chapter 2 The First Steps

Xi'an stumbled forward, his eyes scanning the horizon for any signs of danger. The void was eerily quiet, with only the sound of his own ragged breathing breaking the silence. He felt like he was walking through a dream, the ground beneath him soft and spongy.

As he walked, the ground began to take shape, forming into a rough, rocky terrain. The air grew thick with an otherworldly energy, and Xi'an's skin prickled with goosebumps. He could feel the weight of the game world settling around him, the gravity of his situation sinking in.

Suddenly, a figure materialized in front of him - a tall, imposing NPC with glowing blue eyes. Gorvoth's armor gleamed in the faint light, his presence commanding attention.

"Greetings, traveler," Gorvoth boomed, his voice like thunder. "I am Gorvoth, your guide in this world. But first, I must know your name. Please enter your name in the virtual bar below."

A virtual keyboard and bar appeared in front of Xi'an, glowing with a soft blue light. He hesitated for a moment, then began to type.

"Xi'an_Liu_88"

As he finished typing, the keyboard and bar vanished, leaving only Gorvoth's imposing figure.

"Well met, Xi'an_Liu_88," Gorvoth said, his eyes gleaming with approval. "You have entered Demon Apocalypse, a realm of untold dangers and wonders. I will be your guide, for now."

And with that, Gorvoth handed Xi'an a beautifully crafted bow and quiver full of arrows. "This is your starter weapon, a gift from the game developers. Use it well, for the road ahead will be treacherous."

Xi'an took the bow, feeling its weight and balance in his hands. It felt natural, like an extension of his own body. He drew back the string, feeling the tension build in his arms and shoulders.

Gorvoth nodded in approval. "You have a good feel for it. Now, let us begin your journey. Follow me."

Gorvoth led Xi'an through the rocky terrain, pointing out landmarks and warning him about potential dangers. They walked for what felt like hours, the sun beating down on them like a relentless drum. The air was thick with the scent of ozone and smoke, and Xi'an's ears rang with the distant sound of thunder.

As they walked, Xi'an noticed something strange - the landscape seemed to be shifting, like it was alive. Rocks and trees seemed to move of their own accord, and the air was filled with a faint, pulsating energy. The ground beneath their feet seemed to tremble, as if the earth itself was trembling with fear.

"What's going on?" Xi'an asked Gorvoth, his voice barely above a whisper.

Gorvoth's expression turned serious. "This is the game world's way of adapting to your presence. It is a dynamic, ever-changing environment, and you must be prepared to adapt accordingly."

Xi'an's mind raced as he tried to process this information. He had never played a game like this before, and he wasn't sure if he was ready for what lay ahead. The thought sent a shiver down his spine, and he felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead.

As they crested a small hill, Gorvoth stopped and pointed to a valley below. "That is your destination - the town of Dream Haven. It is a safe haven, of sorts, but do not be fooled. Danger lurks in every corner of this world."

Xi'an's heart raced as he looked down at the town, his mind filled with anticipation and fear. The town was surrounded by a high wall, with guard towers at regular intervals. The buildings inside were a mix of wooden and stone structures, with smoke drifting lazily from the chimneys.

But something felt off. The town seemed too quiet, too still. As if it was waiting for something to happen.

Chapter 3 The Avatar Skin

Xi'an met with Gorvath in a virtual realm, seeking guidance on his next move. Gorvath's avatar appeared before him, its eyes gleaming with wisdom.

"Xi'an, you have reached a critical juncture in your journey," Gorvath said. "You must now create an avatar skin, a virtual representation of yourself that will aid you in your quest."

"A virtual representation?" Xi'an repeated, intrigued. "What do you mean?"

"Your avatar skin will be a powerful tool in the virtual world," Gorvath explained. "It will reflect your skills, abilities, and personality. But choose wisely, Xi'an, for your avatar skin will shape your destiny."

A virtual window materialized before Xi'an, displaying various avatar options. Gorvath gestured to the window.

"Choose from these options, Xi'an. But remember, each avatar skin has its strengths and weaknesses. Choose wisely."

Xi'an scanned the options, his eyes widening as he took in the diverse array of avatars. There were warriors, mages, archers, and more. But one avatar caught his eye - the fallen angel.

"Ah, the fallen angel," Gorvath said, noticing Xi'an's interest. "A powerful choice, but also a risky one. That avatar skin is still in development, Xi'an. I advise you to choose another."

But Xi'an was drawn to the fallen angel's power and beauty. He refused to listen to Gorvath's warnings.

"I want the fallen angel," Xi'an said, his voice firm.

Gorvath's expression darkened. "Xi'an, I warned you-"

"I know, but I want it," Xi'an interrupted, his jaw set.

Gorvath's eyes flashed with anger. "Fine, have it your way. But don't say I didn't warn you."

With that, Gorvath vanished, leaving Xi'an alone in the virtual realm. The virtual window remained, awaiting Xi'an's confirmation.

Xi'an hesitated for a moment, feeling a pang of doubt. But his desire for the fallen angel's power overrode his fear. He confirmed his choice, and the virtual world around him began to blur.

When his vision cleared, he found himself back in his darkened room, sitting in front of his computer. He looked down at his hands, still feeling the virtual world's energy coursing through him.

He knew he had made a risky choice, and Gorvath's anger still lingered in his mind. But he was ready to face the consequences. For better or worse, he was now a fallen angel in the virtual world.

Xi'an's heart raced as he realized the magnitude of his decision. He had defied Gorvath's advice and chosen the fallen angel avatar skin. Now, he had to play with the consequences.

He opened his eyes and stood up from his chair, his eyes scanning the darkened room. The silence was oppressive, and he felt a sense of unease creeping over him.

Suddenly, his computer beeped, signaling an incoming message. Xi'an's heart skipped a beat as he saw Gorvath's name on the screen.

"Gorvath, what do you want?" Xi'an asked, his voice hesitant.

"I told you, Xi'an, you made a grave mistake," Gorvath's message read. "Your fallen angel avatar skin is unstable and dangerous. You must delete it before it's too late."

Xi'an's eyes narrowed. "No way, Gorvath. I'll make it work."

"Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you," Gorvath's message ended abruptly.

Xi'an's heart raced as he realized the gravity of his situation. He was alone now, with no one to guide him. But he was determined to make it work, no matter the cost. He named his Avatar Khaos...
