Chapter 1 Mated To The Wrong wolf

CARA'S POV

"Let's give us a second shot at this!" Kyle, my fiancee's relaxing voice, pierced through my ears at the end of the phone.

"Please, Kyle, let's do this for our unborn child!" I responded swiftly, with my trembling voice.

While I put my left hand on my protruding belly, trying to feel the movement of the baby inside me.

"Come to Delux Hotel, 4th floor, room 205," he uttered sternly, his voice mixed with slight calmness and concern, leaving my face more glued with excitement than usual.

"I'll be on my way right now!" I responded, my voice low yet firm.

Without hesitation I stood up from the sofa of my room, took my small Gucci bag, matching it with my cream-colored short gown, and my black shoes, ready to step on the road.

"Baby, I need to make this day work out for us!" I whispered inwardly to myself. "I need to bring Daddy back home." I said in a low voice to the unborn child inside me; it was as if she could hear me. My face was etched with worries as I walked out through the door of my house.

As I sat down at the back of the cab, my mind never stopped reeling on the things that have been happening since I got pregnant. Kyle and I have been feeding on daily arguments, arguments I couldn't even explain to myself or inform Lord Max, my father, about. I've been trying to reach him, and now he called me by himself.

"Go easy, driver!" I snapped. "Don't harm my baby." I growled at the aged driver for unknowingly driving through a bump, having seen that I held on my big belly a pregnancy. Now 7 months this month.

"Sorry, ma'am!" The driver pleaded, his voice barely audible yet firm. Then he headed straight to the destination.

After a few minutes, he stepped on the car brake very fast, and the screeching sound of the car sent a shiver down my spine.

"We are here, ma'am!" He spoke confidently.

I never liked his driving, though, but he got me to the hotel faster than I expected. As I turned, my eyes glanced at the big design of the Delux Hotel flashing back at me.

"Great!" I muttered softly and stepped on the marbled floor of the luxurious hotel, walking slowly towards an elevator. Room 205 is ringing continuously in my head.

As I stood in the elevator, I couldn't lift up the excitement that had gripped my heart like a plague. The old Kyle has finally returned back to me.

When the whole pack rejected my existence as a wolfless girl, the only thing saving me was my father's power as the head of the pack. Kyle accepted me with my stigma, and everything changed. He turned my life around; he made me see that I have a purpose even if I'm wolfless among my being.

"Dong!" The elevator stopped at the 4th floor, and I stepped out, taking a slow walk through the corridor with shoes clinging to the tiled floor, scanning each door's number for room 205.

"Yes, this is it!"

I stopped on my first glance at room 205, but my leg stiffened and my eyes widened in shock as I listened to the loud playing of music coming from his room, the smoke from cigarettes piercing my nose, and the familiar sensitive sound of a female.

"Hmm! Hmm! The moaning continues, "Dig that dick deeper in me!" The familiar voice groans loudly.

At first I amused myself with a quick joke. "I never knew Kyle was a farmer!" I said while I patiently held on to the door handle tightly. But the sound didn't stop.

"I'll fuck you till dawn!" Kyle uttered, his voice audible to my ears; it made my eyes blurry as if I'd faint. Confirming my suspicion that he's definitely inside with a lady or probably watching his usual porn movies. I caught him several times watching.

But my eyes flashed with anger when I heard the next person speak. "Are you sure your bitch will come?" The same familiar voice questioned Kyle.

"Who could she be? Who is she referring to?" My questions hung in the air as my curiosity heightened.

"She'll definitely come; she's as dumb as an animal." Kyle asserted firmly, his voice laced with malice.

My heart skipped a beat, my hand grabbed the handle harder, and I tried to control my rage and listen to those discussions.

"She isn't worth your attention, I told you!" That voice is coming to life in my ears. "She's useless. I hated her so much ever since Dad made her the best daughter!"

"Yes, I never loved..." Kyle's words were cut through by my sudden entrance, jolting the two on top of each other.

"Layla!" I screamed at the top of my voice as I stormed into the dimly lit room filled with smoke from cigarettes.

"Talk of the devil!" Layla mumbled, and Kyle quickly pushed her to the side of the bed.

"You are fucking fucking my husband!" I growled at her, my eye blazing fury at the horrible nakedness before me.

The scene before me is uncalled for; Layla and Kyle seemed not startled by my unexpected entrance, their eyes fixed on themselves like a shameless duo.

"Get a hold of yourself, bitch!" Layla's words struck me in the heart.

"Layla, how could you do this to me, your sister? I confided in you," I asked, as if there could be any humanity left in her.

"Yes, you," she spoke nonchalantly. "Who the hell are you in my life?" She felt no remorse for what she did; she walks around the room with only her red pants. I observed the way she moves confidently from the giant bed to the couch.

"Kyle, you having an intercourse with my sister?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Tell me this isn't happening, please, Kyle." At that moment there were tears already gathering in my eyes; I find it difficult to breathe in and out because of my pregnancy.

"Why couldn't you call me when you got here?" Kyle's question hung in the smoky air of the room: "Courtesy demands it, you know!" He growled at me. "Anyways, you've seen it all; I never loved you; it was all to get your father's recognition!" He dropped the bombshell.

His words rendered me powerless and useless before the duo. "No, no, no, it can't be!" I said, my voice laced with fear.

"She doesn't have all it takes to understand privacy." Layla's words cut through. "Daddy's pet, he loves me, not you. All good things weren't made for only you!"

I ignored her words and turned my pale face to Kyle standing by the window. "Kyle, think of our baby," I tried emotional pinning down on him. "Think of the marriage that's happening tomorrow!" I added it to make it relatable.

"What child? What marriage?" Layla asked rhetorically. "That thing in your stomach isn't his to cater for, and if there were to be a wedding, it would be ours and not yours."

My eyes widened in shock; tears began to stream down my face. "You are so shameless, Layla. Wait till I tell Dad!" I summoned my courage.

"Oh, that? My mother is taking care of that as we speak, and by tomorrow, everything will be a brand new world without you in it." Layla declared sharply and walked awkwardly towards Kyle by the window.

"Kisses, Kyle!" She landed a kiss on his lips. This awakened my rage, not my wolf.

As the only daughter of Lord Max, I couldn't accept defeat even if I'm wolfless. I cleaned my eyes, summoned my courage, and charged at her. "How dare you speak ill about me?" I held her long hair tightly and did not let go, not minding my big belly.

"Let go of her filth!" Kyle jumped in between us, separated me from her, and then she reached for the bottle, broke it on my soft-skinned head, and both of them pushed me out of the window.

The wind pierced through both my ears, blowing away my tears as I fell down very fast. "If there is any moon goddess around, please save me, and I'll serve you till I die!" I uttered sharply. But there was no moon goddess, no firefighter below me.

As I kept on falling very fast from the hotel building, my mind reeled on the good moments I had with Kyle before he betrayed me, the promises, and the plans to welcome my baby to this cruel world. The clothes I've bought for her at the Maybach stores-I kept a special one beside my bed shelf.

But now I lost all hope even though I don't want to die, and I don't want my baby to die. I was left with no choice but to accept my fate as I closed my eyes and allowed darkness to envelop me, and then everything went blank.

Chapter 2 Reborn

CARA'S POV

"Rise up, child!"

The soft voice was everywhere, like a whisper carried on the wind. I didn't know where I was floating to; it's as if floating somewhere between deep sleep and death.

My body felt weightless, as if I no longer belonged to the earth. For a moment, I thought I had died.

"Where am I?" I asked as my eyes fluttered open, the world around me bathed in silver light. A gentle breeze brushed against my skin, and I lay on something soft, cool grass beneath me, damp with morning dew. I looked around, dazed.

"You are saved, child!" A woman stood before me, cloaked in moonlight. Her eyes shimmered like stars, and her presence calmed my raving heart.

"Who... who are you?" I croaked, my voice barely a breath.

She stepped closer, her long silvery hair flowing like a river of light behind her. "I am Melissa, the Moon goddess," she said, leaning in beside me. "You pleaded to be saved, and that's what I did."

Tears welled in my eyes. "But I felt it... I felt my life slipping away as I fell, but it suddenly stopped."

"You were close to dying, but I guess you weren't meant to die today." She said gently. "Too close. Your spirit was torn, your body broken." I cut through her words.

My eyes widened in shock as I touched my supposed big belly, now flat, and a sob escaped my lips. "My baby... Where's my baby?" I questioned, my voice laced with anger.

Melissa's gaze faltered for the first time, and I knew the answer before she spoke. "I'm sorry, child, the damage was too great. Even I couldn't save the little soul within you."

Pain surged through me, more powerful than any wound. I clutched my stomach over and over again, now hollow, and let the tears flow freely.

"I'm so sorry, Cara; I was able to pull you back and not your baby!"

"Why save me?" I asked in a whisper angrily. "My being alive is useless without my child; kill me right now or bring back my baby!"

She placed a hand over my heart. "Cara, your story is not yet finished. You are needed still. The child's soul rests in the stars now, watched over by the moon."

The moon goddess began to sound different, like one with a mission yet to fulfill.

"I don't care about that; I only care about my baby!" I asserted confidently, my voice audible enough to comprehend the pain and anguish of a mother.

"Like I said earlier on, your body and your child were too damaged from the tragic fall; I only saved your soul."

Her words pierced through me like a dagger. I wrapped my arms around myself, rocking slightly as I wept, each sob tearing from a place deeper than my soul.

"I should've just died." I whispered.

Then moved a bit nearer to me. "You died unjustly before your time, child, betrayed. Broken. I cannot bring your child back, but I can offer you something else."

I stared at her, numb and lost. "What could possibly matter now?" I asked, my curiosity heightened.

"A second chance for revenge." Moon goddess Melissa, she said softly. "You'll be reborn, but there are conditions."

My eyes narrowed in anticipation. Of course I lost my child, but I was ready to make Kyle and Layla pay for what they did to me.

"I accept any conditions that come with it, but why?" I asked, blinking through tears.

"You'll be reborn into another body, but you own your soul. This will be for only 180 days in another body. A life borrowed, not stolen."

"Sorry I'm bothering you with my problems, but if I'm reborn, would I be powerless and wolfless like I was in my previous life?" I asked, and her gaze says it all.

"To avenge your death and that of your unborn child. You need to find the one who was meant for you, your true mate."

"You are confusing things, Moon goddess!" I uttered sternly, as I felt she hadn't replied to my question.

"Your soul chooses its own host, then you need to find someone who'd love you, Mark you."

"Thank you, I'll do whatever it takes to have my revenge!" I muttered with my eyes growing wider in anger.

The wind shifted. The moonlight pulses around her, and the stars above swirl into a glowing sigil. As the light overshadowed me, the warnings of the moon goddess never left my mind.

"Listen closely, if you fail to find your true mate and earn his mark within 180 days, your soul will fade. You will return to the void. No more second chances."

I swallowed, my heart pounding. "And if I succeed?"

"You'll reclaim your life. Not the old one, but a new beginning... With love, strength, and purpose."

My hands trembled as I looked down at them; already they were beginning to glow faintly, as if shedding their shape. The moon flared one last time, and then the world shattered into light.

My body jolted awake-no, not awake, alive. Every nerve was on fire, every breath caught in a rhythm that wasn't mine.

"Uhn... Fuck you, Maya." A deep voice groaned into my ear, husky and thick with desire. I froze.

Strong hands gripped my waist. My legs were wrapped around someone, someone I didn't know. My body moved on its own, grinding against his with fierce, heated hunger. It wasn't just passion; it was primal, hot, wild, and raw.

I looked down at myself and nearly choked to see my body naked. "This wasn't my body!" I whispered inwardly to myself.

The curves were different, the skin tone slightly darker, my breasts not as big as this, and the scent unfamiliar. My heart pounded in my chest, not from fear, but from the sheer intensity of what I was feeling. And still, he moved against me, worshipping every inch like he belonged there.

"Who is this man?" My question hung up in the air of the room. "Ahn! Ahn!" I moaned softly, feeling every bit of his touch on the strange body.

"Maya," he groaned again, kissing down my neck, "you're different tonight. Gods, you feel so good." I couldn't speak. Couldn't breathe.

My mind screamed confusion, but my new busy burned for more, caught in the storm of pleasure. My soul tried to separate from it, but the connection was too deep. Too fused.

Then, in a flash. Melissa's voice echoed in my mind: "You'll be reborn, but the body you enter has a life of its own, secrets, desires, and scars."

A sharp burst from my lips, not mine, hers. This woman's body. Maya's. Who's she? Whoever she was, she'd just been in the middle of making love to this strange man, and I was now part of it.

"Get away from me!" I pushed him away from me, to the side of the bed, with strength I had never harnessed before now.

"What's wrong with you, Maya?" he growled back at me. "It's me, Alpha Dane. How dare you push me while performing your duty!" He grumbled deeply.

Who is he to order me around?

Chapter 3 A STRANGER IN HER EYES

DANE'S POV

I sat on the edge of the bed, my eyes flashed in shock, still tangled from the storm we'd created hours ago, but my mind wasn't only on the 100% rated sex she gave me; no, I was still in shock from what Maya pulled last night.

"Oh my, oh my... My humble dick felt her wet pussy!"

Maya was no longer the quiet, submissive girl I thought I knew; she straddles me now, her thighs pressed firm around my waist, her fingers dragging slowly down my chest, nails grazing, claiming. Her touch was no longer hesitant or shy. It was possessive.

I stared up at her, wide-eyed, lips parted in shock and arousal. "Maya...?" I said in a whisper, more of a question than a statement.

But she didn't answer; instead, she leaned down, her breath hot against me, and wrapped the bedsheet to cover her body. I could still feel the imprint of her fingernails on my back, the echo of her breathless moans in my ear.

She wasn't just making love; she was taking control, and I couldn't lie to myself-I liked it. Hell, I wanted more.

"This isn't Maya; it was a sex machine or whatever version one decides to call her." I mused thoughtfully to myself.

I think I witnessed a new Maya; the Maya I knew, soft, obedient, and always melting at my touch, was gone. All she ever does is follow my command, more like a sex doll only. But every glance screamed something new.

"If you want me, you earn me. Not command me." The words didn't just sting me; they ignited something primal in me.

I had always had my way with Maya. She never fought me. Even when she should've. I could take her with a whisper, a kiss to her neck, and a hand around her waist. But now. "Why are you covering your body? But you love to seduce me while wearing your cloth."

This new Maya would claw her way out of hell before she let me dominate her.

I turned my head slowly towards where she stood now by the open window, wrapped in only a silk robe, the moonlight kissing her skin. Her hair swayed in the night breeze, and for a moment, she looked like a goddess carved from shadow and flame.

I rose, slowly, unsure of whether I wanted to confront her or worship her. "You've changed," I said quietly.

She didn't look at me. "No," she replied, her voice low but laced with steel. "I remembered who I am."

I took a step forward. "Maya would never talk to me like that." She turned, finally, her blue eyes meeting mine. But it wasn't anger I saw in them. It was something deeper: power, pain, and fire.

"Who are you?" A question she never ceases to ask me.

"Do I have the power to fuck someone to make her lose her memory or what? Is my wolf too powerful as an Alpha?"

"Maya, can you stop pretending as if you don't know!" I growled at her. But it kept on getting worse, as her blue eyes began to glow deeper, like she was about to attack me.

"I don't know you; I haven't seen you before in my entire life?" She said, her soft voice so audible.

It's becoming too serious. How could I even comprehend that I fucked her, and she lost her memory? How is that even possible? Is this a lucid interval? The pack mustn't know about her new attitude.

"I am Alpha Dane, king of Moonshine kingdom!" I said, with my gaze fixed directly on her and hers on mine.

I was left with no choice but to fill in the vacuum, but she never flinched on hearing my name; she doesn't seem familiar with it.

"King?" She asked,

"Yes, and I got married to you, Maya; you are my queen." I continue explaining to her, especially when I noticed her strange daze at me.

Just as Maya began to rise in the storm between them, her body arched and her breath trembled on the edge of something deep, but a knock shattered everything.

"Knock-knock!" It was firm, repeated, and urgent.

We both froze in place; she's breathing heavily, hearts racing for entirely different reasons now. Her robe slid down slightly from her shoulder as she blinked. Chest heaving from the intensity that had just been broken.

I growled low, frustration bubbling under my skin as I grabbed my pants from the floor. "Who the hell is that...?"

I flung the door open to find Amelia, Maya's maid, her head bowed respectfully but her voice sharp with urgency.

"Forgive me, Alpha Dane. But it's the Cubs!" She uttered, her voice barely above a whisper.

The silence behind me suddenly became loud. "What happened to them?"

"Loki and Aria are awake. They're crying, asking for their mother."

"Alright, calm them down; she'll be there soon." I said in relief that nothing happened to them.

As I watched Amelia leave the room, I turned back to see Maya standing still in the center of the room, her robe clutched tightly around her, but it was her face, her expression, that caught my attention. Her eyes were wide, confused, and terrified.

"Children?" Maya whispered. "You said... Cubs?"

"Yes, Maya. Loki and Aria. Your 5-year-old twins. They've been asking to see you." I stated. "Wait, don't tell me you don't remember your children either?"

"I... I don't know them!" Her tone changed, her voice etched with confusion. She pressed her hands against her temples, her breath growing shallow. "Do you mean I gave birth? But I lost my child!"

She sounded seriously pitiful, like a mother who lost her child in cold blood. I felt like a different man to her for the first time since I got married to her.

"Maya, we've been the king and queen of the moonshine kingdom for five years, blessed with two cubs." I explained in detail. "I'll try to fill in your memories, but I need you to act accordingly!" I asserted sharply, I have enough enemies that would love to hear that my mate has lost her memory and doesn't remember anything.
