CHAPTER 01
Mia was in the company's pantry, facing the heavy start of another Monday at work. Leaning on the column next to the coffee machine, she watched the people taking their places in the office, while she drank her coffee and, distracted, looked at the cell phone that vibrated insistently, ignoring the calls from Ava, her younger sister.
Although she was aware of the importance of being attentive to the entry of CEO Oliver, responsible for almost all of the family companies, her rich, influential and attractive boss, Mia never harbored feelings for him. In fact, she didn't even have the opportunity to get close, being just one secretary among many in the vast network of companies. However, Mia enjoyed watching his daily arrival, punctual as clockwork. While the men hid and the women offered themselves, the serious Oliver passed without greeting anyone, surrounded by his security guards, and entered his office, a place restricted to a few people, only the most important and powerful in the city.
Amidst the sighs and whispers of co-workers hoping to get Oliver's attention, Mia kept to the sidelines, focused on her professional responsibilities. However, that day, something unexpected happened. As Mia fixed her gaze on the path taken by Oliver, he did something unusual: their gazes met for a brief moment. A shiver ran through Mia's body, who felt disconcerted and blushed slightly.
"It must be in my head" Mia thought, ignoring the shudder she felt with the exchange of glances as she returned to the work environment listening to the women's comments about Oliver.
Again Mia was forced to hold the cell phone, ignoring her sister's call and noting that she had left some messages. Following the work day, starting with filing some documents, having to stop after being called to the floor boss's office, waiting to receive a new task.
"Good morning dear" said Mia's boss smiling, "I have news, from today you will change sectors".
"What happened?" he asked in a soft voice believing that he had made mistakes.
"Oliver's secretary was fired, his work had to be restricted and he needed a discreet person with few friends in the company and he has to be smart and efficient, you fit that profile perfectly, we don't have another person with the structure and patience you have".
"It feels like a sacrifice and not a job."
"Oliver is a rich person like the others, demanding and eccentric, but I believe in his potential, it will work".
"Start when?"
"Now".
Mia took a large cardboard box leaving her colleagues curious, put her things and without delay went up to the roof of the building to meet her new place of work. The penthouse was different, it didn't have offices, not a lot of people, it was just the huge desk of the secretariat, inside a beautiful waiting room and behind it the door of Oliver's office closed.
Mia took a deep breath, noticing that the old secretary hadn't taken her personal effects and that the table had piles of papers, sticking the box she carried in the swivel chair while removing the old secretary's things from the table.
"There was a mistake" said Oliver to his assistant while measuring Mia with a firm look making her stop "I didn't ask to change Maria from cleaning but the secretary".
"I'll see what happened sir."
"I'm sorry" Mia said entering the conversation of the two embarrassed and with a trembling voice "I'm a secretary".
The two measured her and looked at each other, Oliver entered the room Lucas said:
"If you are a secretary, sit in that chair and work like one, leave the cleaning to Maria, there is a lot of work to be done, be focused" he took a cell phone out of his pocket and gave it to her "This is your number with us, just answer our calls and if you have an emergency call me and never Oliver."
Mia thought about asking what the urgency was at that moment, but Lucas went into Oliver's office and left her alone, quickly took the box from his chair, sitting down and picking up the stack of papers, reading and organizing by date, then creating spreadsheets On the computer and starting to get in touch with the emails that were noted in the spreadsheets, Mia also remade a new agenda, because the former secretary had angrily deleted the last one.
The cell phone that Mia had won started ringing, being answered without delay, it was Lucas informing them what they would have for lunch and which restaurant they wanted the food from, informing that she could order from the same place on the company account and passing a meal for three, to not going out to lunch with the other employees, from that day on, the time she spent at the company would have to be isolated.
Mia organized the agenda by emailing it to Lucas with a copy to Oliver, surprising her speed and organization.
When lunch arrived Mia sent a message to Lucas warning him and he was allowed to enter the place, discreetly observing the boss's beautiful room, the walls were made of glass and the view to the city, there were all the chairs were in burgundy leather, the table was rustic it had an old-fashioned look like the rest of the furniture, the smell was wonderful, but the old-fashioned appearance gave the place a sober air.
"Set it up there" Lucas pointed to a cup inside the room.
" Fit?" wondered _
"Come on" whispered Maria softly "Set the table before it gets cold".
"What do I do with the third order?" asked Mia, relieved to find the cleaning lady.
" Give me ".
The two left the room, while Oliver watched Mia's curves as she left, paying attention to how she had an attractive walk and a beautiful body, feeling a slight attraction and excitement with the movement of her ass in the clingy gray skirt she wore. Thinking that he was physically vulnerable because of the time he had not slept with a woman, with the intention of passing on a serious image to the media and his father of his respect.
CHAPTER 02
"I didn't think I'd make it through the morning " Mia said to Maria "Thanks for helping."
"When you have any doubts , I'm available ," replied Maria, smiling as she arranged her meal on the table, inviting Mia to eat.
"I've never had that before," Mia said, looking down at her food.
"This is one of the benefits of being exclusive to the boss, we are hated by the rest of the company, few people even like us. We cannot have contact, but we have the best things available, Oliver allows us to provide everything he consumes, everything passes through us".
"Interesting" she said piercing the meat "I'll enjoy it while I'm here before I get fired".
" Fired?" .
"I heard that secretaries don't last".
"The last one was over a year old."
The two ate and then Mia went to the luxurious bathroom on the floor, available to her and Maria, the two being the only women on the floor, brushing her teeth observing the luxury of the place.
"How did you get here?" he asked Maria who was stopping by his side
"Like you, the cleaning lady was fired for sticking her nose in and Oliver wanted someone else, I'm a maid chosen because of my low profile and quiet personality, I've been here for over five years, I pretend I'm blind, deaf and dumb, I don't take pictures of anything and I don't even scour. I'm a middle-aged lady earning more than a doctor to clean just this floor, I'm happy quietly, if you're smart you'll be too".
Mia finished brushing her teeth and picked up her cell phone, deciding to call her sister back and find out what was so urgent that she had been calling all morning.
"Speak Ava" he said when he realized that his sister had answered.
"Mia remember that job I got where I was going to travel? Did not work.
"Why didn't it work, are you crying?" .
"Remember Maycon ".
"What about your ex boyfriend's bad character with the Ava service?" I ask bluntly, sure I wouldn't like the answer I would get.
"We had gotten back together, I didn't tell you because I know you don't like him."
"He sucks Ava."
"He was getting me the job, it was a dangerous move, I knew it before going in, the money was high, it would get us out of the suburbs, but it went wrong and I had to hide".
"Ava what did you do?" .
"I need to go to your house for a few days".
"Ava knows she can count on me, but stay away from this guy. Go alone, there's a spare key inside the potted plant by the door, under the stones, don't tell that bad character Maycon , as soon as I leave I'm going home without stopping."
Mia went back to the table and continued to finish the paperwork, she didn't want to leave anything behind, throughout the afternoon she watched Oliver and Lucas leave and enter several times and that in all of them Oliver stared at her, imagining that he did it because it was his first day. Realizing that on the last lap Oliver was alone, having stopped a little in front of the elevator and stared at her with no reaction on her face and then walked by without saying a word leaving Mia afraid of him.
It was almost five in the afternoon and Mia was getting ready to finish the last papers before leaving when she received a call from Oliver calling her to his office.
"Yes" I said embarrassed as soon as I entered his room.
"Make dinner, order whatever you want for yourself, but for me the usual, the restaurant knows what it is" he said typing without looking at her, he was different wearing glasses , on his table there were three notebooks open "Take the printouts in the other room", Oliver looked at her for a moment showing where the printer was and quickly had the opportunity to measure Mia in full, being excited by her beauty "Organize it like you did with the others and bring it to sign, scan it and send it by email " .
Oliver waited for Mia to turn her back, appreciating how beautiful she was, she had black hair with a bluish tint, straight reaching the length of her ample buttocks, as well as thick legs, her slim waist accurately modeled her body, her breasts were medium in size. , Mia had black eyes and reddish lips, she was a real beautiful and attractive woman, different from the models that Oliver was used to seeing, whose few things on their bodies were real. Having to police his thinking so as not to be sued for harassment, noting that he was not in a good financial position to deal with the worn out clothes.
Oliver disguised it when Mia returned with the pile of papers in his direction, returning to typing and said:
"Lord was about to leave but".
"Don't worry, the hours will be paid accurately now ahead of this service so you don't have to stay longer".
Mia followed the order, even against her will, she wanted to see her sister, but she also wanted to earn as a doctor, she was in debt and what she earned as a secretary was barely enough for her, she still had to rid Ava of the trouble she got into, being like her mother.
She continued working, received dinner, excused herself, entering with him, served Oliver's table as she had done at lunch, then left, and at the table herself ate dinner while typing, at eight thirty in the evening Oliver called her dismissing her. Mia left quickly, she was tired, in a hurry and hungry realizing that rich food doesn't fit, stopping at a fast food and buying two snacks counting on the salary increase that he would have believed he would have, thinking about what Maria had told him.
Mia looked around the apartment, noting that the lights were off, getting worried about her sister and going inside quickly.
"Ava" called as she opened the door " Sister?" . She turned on the light and saw Ava lying on the floor with her hand over her mouth signaled for her to be quiet, thinking that if it wasn't an awkward encounter like this, it wasn't her sister, trying to tell if she was sober.
"Don't call my name".
"What happened to your hair?" .
"They cut it, but the hair is the least".
"Who are they?.
CHAPTER 03
Mia sat next to her sister on the floor entering what she believed to be madness, the curtains were closed and what should pass security to Ava, took the snack from the wrapping, gave Ava's and started to eat hers.
"How much do you want this time?" she asked carefree, knowing her sister's involvement in petty embezzlement crimes, always having to pay someone off or being beaten up.
"My life" he said as his eyes filled with tears.
"What did they do this time?" she asked , leaving her lunch aside while hugging her sister, worrying about the seriousness of her sister's tears, while stroking her hair that had been cut into holes, noting that her head was bruised, indicating that her sister had been beaten a lot.
Mia and Ava lost their mother to cancer when they were young, Mia was eleven and Ava seven. Mia quickly realized that no one would love and care for them like her mother had, nor her father, taking on the role of mother to Ava, fighting and protecting, gaining independence at sixteen, taking Ava with her.
"I didn't know who I was working for, the information I had was that the money was good sister, we stole the government, valuable information, I did the whole process but I didn't keep anything, Maycon is dead and the next one is me".
"Ava, I don't understand what you're saying."
"Mia I'm saying I'm condemned to death because I entered the government system, I was hired by an important man, we're talking about information and state secrets, things that can take and put people in power. I know it sounds crazy or something in my head, but it's not."
"Who hit you?"
"There were many people interested in the content, we were betrayed and as soon as I downloaded the content to the prendrive we were stolen and deceived, but they didn't believe that I did my part and it wasn't my fault that someone cheated on everyone. I was beaten to confess what I didn't do, then they beat me to revert what I did, or do it again, but it wasn't possible, they killed Maycon as a style for me. They beat me up so much that they thought they had killed me, they left me in a big house with homeless people and drug users to be found as an indigent, that's why I'm here."
"If they think you're dead, it means you're safe."
"They are the Mia government, as soon as there is no report narrating the death of another homeless person, they will look for me, this is not the type of failure that passes".
"What do I do Ava?" he asked afraid the situation was true "Leave me in the basement please, give me medicine, this is the last time I bother you".
"Let's go to the police ".
"They are the police Mia, I'm stuck".
The two continued lying on the floor, Mia cried without Ava noticing, she didn't understand how a person as smart as her sister who managed to break into the government system managed to get into so many troubles and bad things, thinking that with that digital skill Ava could work what he wanted in the company he wanted, but he chose crime, the irresponsible, suffering and painful life he led.
Mia was afraid the story was real, because if Ava was wanted by the government, she would surely be found quickly in her basement, but she had nowhere to take her.
Before reaching the basement Mia insisted that Ava take a shower and change the dirty clothes she was wearing, then accompanied her sister dragging herself there, made a bed, gave medicine and while she ate Mia examined her sister's head, then evened her hair with careful as she could with scissors, letting simple tears fall knowing that in the future, as soon as the wounds were healed, they would have to scrape them off to grow the same. It was sad for Mia to witness the bad path Ava had chosen for herself, being able to only take care of her and nothing else.
"Ava we have to go to the doctor".
"The worst is over sister, now I'm fine".
Ava didn't speak, but she wasn't well, she felt severe pain in her head and body where she preferred not to show the marks to her sister, lying down with difficulty on the makeshift bed and falling asleep.
Mia left her thinking that life had been cruel to them for having lost their loving mother early, but she didn't understand why Ava didn't do like her, getting a job and contenting herself with being responsible and happy with what she had, but Ava always wanted have more than you can. Mia was easygoing and hardworking, she believed in the law of attraction, that if she did her best honestly by going through life, she would give good things in return, or at least repayment, she was a well-regarded woman in the places where she had worked, well-regarded in his neighborhood and dear within the community where he lived, even though he had difficulties in making friends, the fact of not interfering in people's lives conveyed a good image.
Mia found out early on that going the hard way didn't bring money, but it did guarantee peace, she had to take care of Ava, give the love that her father was unable to give, as well as the aunts, needed to stand firm for her sister.
The ringing of the doorbell made Mia's heart shudder with fear, thinking how quickly the government had found her and would take Ava away from her. There was no way to escape, the only option Mia had was to open the door, it was late but she decided to watch through the living room window a luxury car parked in front of the sidewalk and two men in black in front of her door.
Mia said she was coming, removed everything that indicated that Ava was at her house out of the way, hiding it inside the washing machine . He took a photo of the car and the men, thought about sending it to someone, but he had no friends other than his sister, took a deep breath and opened the door saying:
"Good evening, how can I help you?" He asked, feeling his body trembling with fear.
"Is this Mia Mia?" asked one of the men.
Mia watched the men, both were armed and there seemed to be more people in the car, fearing that moment was the end of her.
"Yes",
