Chapter 1 PLANNING HER DEATH

LUXURY POV

"Divorce," I read, looking at the paper, I couldn't help but laugh, it was the only thing I could do since I couldn't cry anymore.

"So, you two have finally decided to let me go?" I asked, laughing a bit. "Sign it and get out," he demanded, gritting his teeth.

Without hesitation, I signed it, throwing it on the floor once I was done. "Are you happy now?" I asked.

"Very," he replied, almost immediately. "Good," I muttered. "So, how did you plan on killing me?" I asked, taking him aback by my questions.

"You think I wouldn't know, if I'm dead, your grandfather had no choice but to finally allow you to marry Ava,"

"Isn't that why you locked me up the moment you found out I was pregnant, or why you paid the doctors off and why you plan to get rid of me tonight, because it's the only chance you would get," I explained, he grinned, dropping his gun and clapping his hands.

"So then, since you figure it out, I will let you choose your death, how do you intend to die?" He coldly asked after the clap.

"After everything I did," I mumbled. "I tried Michael, I really tried to make this work, I let you bring her in even when you were married to me, I tried knowing your hobbies, I tried pleasing you,"

"And what did I get in return, humiliating, torture and abuse," I listed. "You would strip me naked and flog me in front of your staff, you would let Ava pour ice water to make things worst, you would rape me, thousand of time, you would treat me, like I'm trash," I said, finally crying out

"You asked how you want to kill me, didn't you?" "Well, you can do anything you want but know this, a day would come, that would regret everything, that you would be haunted and you will seek my forgiveness, but heaven knows that you will never get it, dead or alive," I warned.

"Oh shut it, you knew how this was going to end, you deserve everything you got, the day you tried selling my companies secret out, I'm even regretting not torturing you enough, I should have left you scars, that could be marked down to your bones," he muttered, shaking his head in regret.

" Ava was the one I love, not you, " he complained. " And I let her be your mistress, I let you have fun with her on our wedding night, I let you bring her here," I snapped back.

" Yet, you only use me to get your bloody company and now you want to ditch me, but that's fine, because I know you will regret it," I mumbled, my voice cracking up at this point.

" I was already sick of this pretending to be your grandfather and I was sick of the suffering," I added, taking my phone and walking out.

I didn't bother carrying much, it was no use to drag any load when today would be my last day.

The road was quiet as I walked, not knowing where I was going. It was unusual for the street to be this quiet,no matter the time and I was guessing it was his handwork.

Finally tired, I decided to cross, seeing a chair opposite. It all happened in a flash. One minute, I was wanting to sit down and the next minute, I was slamming the floor, after rolling the car.

No headlight, no horn, it was definitely Michael. And indeed, I was correct, as the driver got out, a smirk on his face as he saw my condition as he came close.

"And to make sure the work is complete," He says, squatting in front me, his hand pulling my head and smashing it hard, blurring my vision.

"That's not how to treat a pregnant woman or at least kill the child first," Another male voice complained, making me realize he wasn't alone.

Slowly looking round, I could see they were a lot, each of them using their car to form a barricade.

The one that spoke, was already in front of me, using his legs to march my stomach.

"Now see, in that way, we know that no one will suffer," He smirk once he was done as warm flowed out, followed by a sharp pain in my stomach.

My child was gone and soon I would join him. Closing my eyes, I let the numb feelings take over, I slowly awaited death.

MICHAEL POV.

"Just in, Mrs. King was involved in a fatal accident, putting her in a coma....,".

"A coma," Ava repeated from the tv. "I thought you were going to kill her?" She muttered, biting her lips and I knew she was trying to prevent herself from crying.

"Baby," I softly called. "Don't," She snapped. "You don't love me Michael, if you do she would be dead, I thought we were supposed to be together, but now there is a high chance of her surviving,

"Relax," I calmly tell her. "Look, she has a thirty percent chance of survival, she needs to be on life support. After four days, I will send someone to cut her oxygen, so calm my dear, she will die and we will get to be together," I assured, pulling her in for a hug.

"I'm sorry, I overreacted," She apologizes. "You don't need to dear but never doubt my love for you," I said, while patting her hair.

Resting her head on my lap, it didn't take her long before she fell asleep. "Thomas," I called out, slowly releasing myself from her grip.

He understood what to do, carrying her up and making sure she was sleeping comfortably.

I, on the other hand, had goons to take care of. The stupid set of humans that couldn't do their job well.

Seeing them tied up and badly beating somehow comforted my soul. "You were supposed to quietly wait, till she was dead, wasn't that the plan?" I yelled, watching them nod their head.

"We thought she was dead, she has lost quiet a lot of blood, we didn't," one decided to explain. Earning him a bullet in his skull.

"Don't talk, unless I give you permission to," I warned the rest. "As you guys, I decided to wait, till you guys are dead also, meaning no food, no water and I will slowly release carbon in the room, till each on of you is actually dead,"

"I'm teaching you how to do your job," I said, leaving the room and shutting the door, ignoring their helpless cry.

"Sir," Thomas called, the moment I was out. "You need to be in the hospital," He informed me.

"Any news from the old man?" I asked, heading back in to collect my key's. "I will check on that," He replied.

"No need, I want to send you someplace else," I informed. "You will go and pick up something for me and make it fast," I instructed as we headed to my room, writing the address down and giving it to him.

It was a week's journey, but knowing him, I knew he would beat it down to four or three days, that was why I had chosen him.

"Alright sir," He said with a bow, before leaving. "Where are you going?" Ava asked, making me realize she was half awake.

"To the hospital, the old man would be coming soon, so I need to be there," I explained.

"I will be back by tomorrow at most," I assured, dropping my card for her. "Take care love," She slowly mumbled, closing her eyes.

"I will," I whispered, planting a kiss on her forehead. With this, I set off, with the determination to get this over with.

Arriving at the hospital, I was surprised to find him already at the hospital, seated close to her, while holding her hand.

"She didn't deserve this Michael," Grandfather whispered slowly. "I know it you, this could be the only doing of Michael king," He went on.

"Well, it was all your fault, I told you I didn't love her, you pushed this marriage, too bad she is the only one who gets to pay for it," I replied, sitting across.

"You are indeed your father's son," He muttered. "Please, don't bring my father into this, she wasn't all that innocent, she nearly sold out our company secret files, she was a gold digger and I did punish her," I snapped, slowly getting angry.

"So I can now marry Ava, I fulfilled the condition of the will by getting married to her and now we are divorce, with she signing everything back to me," I said, showing him the divorce papers.

"Get out," He yelled. I couldn't help but smile, knowing in the end, he lost and I won.

"Gladly, I have a girl at home that I need to propose to," with this, I left, off to celebrate my freedom.

I didn't even need to wait for him to come, I didn't need to stay at the hospital for too long, I didn't need to pretend to care about her condition.

I was happy with the way things worked out. "Now time to surprise Ava," I muttered as I thought of ways to propose to her this evening.

I was excited by the fact that she would bear my last name. I finally decided a date in a restaurant would be nice, thus I decided to park my car outside, since we would be going out.

Walking down from the gate, imagining her reaction when she knows we can finally get married.

To my surprise all the servants and guards was nowhere to be found. From the window, I could see Ava, seated on the couch, the remote in one hand and her phone in the other.

She wanted to make a call and I eagerly bought my phone out, knowing it was me she would call.

I imagine answering the call while staring through the window, to my surprised it wasn't me as a deep male phone answer.

"Her baby," She called, dropping the phone on the table, wanting to pour herself a glass of wine..

"Is he around?" The voice asked. "He won't be, till tomorrow," She replies. "He went to see his dying wife," She mocked, laughing to her sick joke.

"And don't worry, I sent the servant out," She assured, explaining why there wasn't anyone around.

"Poor Luxury, I would have left her, but she threatened to expose me and I only had to rush the plan," She continued, putting the phone right back.

"Relax babe, Michael loves me to a fault, he is obsessed with me, I have the powerful Mafia at the tip of my fingers," She boasted, her words coming as a blow.

"How about I come see you tomorrow, it's been so long, I miss you, I love you so much, I can't wait till everything is over," She confessed, her voice going low.

Taking aback by her words, I didn't notice when my phone fell from my hands, alerting her as she looked at the window, her face pale as she saw me.

"Ava," I muttered in disbelief.

Chapter 2 A PLEA TO BRING HER BACK

MICHAEL POV

"Ava," I called out, not wanting to believe what I had just witnessed. "You are back," She muttered.

"Why you were standing outside love?" She asked, smiling as if nothing had happened.

"How long has it been?" I slowly ask. "What's wrong baby, did anything go wrong?" She questions.

"Ava," I yelled. "Don't put up with that fake act, how long has this been going on?" I question loudly.

She went from being shocked to smiling. "Since we met," She replied with a grin. "I don't understand, you saved me then, was it all planned?" I asked in disbelief.

"That's the thing, I didn't save you then, the slave did, Luxury right, but then she was too shy to admit it and it only gave me an opportunity," she explained, with no emotions attached to her voice.

No regret, no remorse. "You owed me so much and slowly it turned into an obsession, making the plan easy, marry you, then kill you later to claim your wealth," She exposes.

"But then, your grandfather, he sensed something tricky, he knew I didn't save you, he knew I was using you and thus demanded you marry Luxury before you could claim the wealth,"

"I wasn't happy with that but since you assure me of finding a way, I couldn't complained,"

"But then again, you were nice to her, since she was okay with me staying, you praised her food, you talked about her, I didn't want things to turn to love, the only option here was to frame her,"

"So when you claimed Luxury nearly sold the company secret files and the evidence you showed me, they were all fake," I cut in.

"Aww, are you not a smart fellow," She mocked. "How can you be this cruel?" I questioned.

"Cruel, am I the cruel one?" She asked. "I didn't rape her, I didn't strip her naked and flog her with belt till she bleed, although I did added water and continue push you to hate her but you did most of the humiliation, so tell me, how am I the cruel one," She asked back, coming close to me.

"You are indeed your father's son, or even worse," She whispered. "I thought the way you watch your mother being torture by your dad mistress would change you but love really make men do stupid things," She muttered.

"You were worse than your father,'' she whispered, earning her a slap. She laughed, as she touched her cheek and while she laughed, I slowly brought out my gun.

"You can kill me now, I will gladly die, knowing two things," she said.

"One, our plan is already far from set and I know my boyfriend will avenge me and Two, I get to watch you kill the only girl who ever loved a demon like you and you killed your child too, now that was fun," she mocked.

Before she could make any more statements, I finished her, using a bullet straight to the heart.

Leaving her body laying lifeless, I decided to have my bath, hoping to cool my body down with the cold water and after the bath, I decided to sleep, hoping by tomorrow, it would be a dream.

However, it was almost impossible to sleep as the recent event kept playing in my head.

"Michael, please believe me," a particular voice in my head replayed. Taking me back to the day Luxury was framed.

"Please, I would never do anything like that," She pleaded. Maybe back then I should have noticed how innocent her eyes were, how sincere she looked at me, and how her voice was broken by the betrayal. Yet, I ignore it to please Ava.

"I hate you, I regret loving a scumbag like you," I heard her voice, I remember it was my first sexual assault on her, her body shaken in fear.

Even when she said that, she still made breakfast the next day. Instantly, my head was filled with images from her, her constant tears, her constant plea and finally ending at yesterday's event.

Seeing it would be impossible to sleep, I got up, picking up the keys and heading out, driving to the hospital.

Arriving to see her alone in the dark room. I turned on the light, remembering how she hated staying in the dark.

Seeing her condition in a clear state of mind, the guilt I felt increases. And slowly, I walked towards her, sitting close to her and holding her hand's, just as the door opened.

"Why are you here?" Grandfather asked, getting agitated. "Will she be able to make it?" I asked, ignoring his question.

"Why do you care?" He mumbled. "Didn't you leave here, happy about her death or is it something you want from her?" He questions.

"Just answer me," I yelled. "No, it's a low chance, too low to risk the surgery," He replied.

"Can I risk that thirty percent, if she had the surgery, would she survive?" I calmly asked.

"Michael, what's wrong?" He inquired, coming close to me. "Grandfather, I have been so stupid, I thought she loved me, I thought I have found my forever but Ava,"

"You finally caught her didn't you?" He cuts in. "You knew," I mumbled. "You wouldn't have believe me if I had told you, you loved Ava so much, you were not in your right sense anymore,"

"That's why I force you to marry Luxury, hoping with time, if you get to know how sweet and beautiful she was, how good a human she can be, you will have feelings for her, finally being able to see the difference and maybe see her betrayal," he explained.

"You should have warned me, you should have shown me proof, I just hurt an innocent human being. I have never in my life felt guilty for killing anyone but I feel that if she dies, I would remain hunted,"

"I owe her a lot, I don't care if she would forgive me, I just want her alive first, grandfather please, you need to make her do the surgery, I would do anything I swear, anything just to have her back," I begged.

"If only you had realized this sooner," He mumbled, his hands stroking my back. "But you need to understand son, Luxury don't want to live,"

"She bare have any brain activities, she is reluctant to fight, the surgery would be useless, if there is no effort from her," he explained.

"I thought you love you, I thought she looks up to you," I pointed out. "Yes she did, but it's only me in the world who loved her, her father hated her the minute she was born and if I hadn't brought her then and you her husband, was even worse, I even heard she lost the child, tell me, which woman would want to fight when all hope is lost?" He asked, making me shift my attention to her.

"Luxury, if you can hear me, I promise to be a better husband, I promise to put you first, I will make sure no one lays their hands on you, please Luxury, come back to me," I pleaded, holding her hand..

"Let her have the surgery grandfather, I know she will make it. "Fine, I will arrange for it to be done tonight," he finally agreed, making me sigh in relief.

He left, coming back soon with a lot of doctors and nurses. Together, they helped roll her out, as I followed them, making sure they were careful with her.

And stopping at the entrance, watching her get rolled in. My heart began to race as I became restless, from walking about to sitting down and then getting up.

After what seemed like forever, the light finally turned off, signifying the end of the surgery and soon the door opened up.

"Mr. King," He called, bowing in respect. "Skip the formality, will she survive or not?" I demanded, not wanting to wait anymore.

"She would survive but," He said, and I didn't want to hear anything else as I rushed to her. Following them closely as they returned her to another room.

Grandfather handled the rest, leaving with the doctor and returning back. "I thought they said the surgery was successful, why isn't she up yet?" I asked, still looking at her.

"Michael, give her time, she will wake up," He mumbled, which I nodded to. "Michael, there is something you need to know," He said, coming close to me.

"What?" I impatiently asked. "Although the surgery was a success, Luxury will lose the ability to use her legs," He informed..

"I don't know if it was the way she landed or she got hit again in her head, but it's cause a lot of damage, including her losing her legs," He announced, a sense of guilt hitting me.

I was the one who asked them to make sure she was killed. Now she will hate me. I made her unable to walk, would it be possible for me to get her forgiveness.

"Would I still be able to repay my debt," I asked

"What have I done?" I muttered. "She warned me, she told me I would ask for her forgiveness but I won't get it, I thought I still had a chance, but once she found out she can't walk," I choked up, unable to complete my words.

"Once she sees how sincere you are, she would forgive you, that I promise," Grandfather tried assuring.

"It's best you go and change, so you don't appear rugged, I will keep you updated and once she wakes up, I will call you,"

"You can't face her, looking deranged," he advised, guarding my step to the door. I knew there was no way I could say no, quietly, so I agreed to be taken away.

The only thing was to rush to have my bath. Driving back home with speed, I immediately headed home, seeing Thomas waiting for me and noticing Ava's body gone.

I know he had helped me take care of it, he was explaining how he was informed of Ava's death and how he rushed back, but I didn't want to hear anything.

I immediately entered the shower, coming out once the soap was rushed down and changing to another suit.

"Please clean the house before I come and put on some decorations," I instructed, before leaving.

Arriving back to find Luxury all alone again in the room. "Why send me back when he would leave her," I complained, closing the door.

The sound of the door slowly drew her attention to me. "You are awake," I announced with excitement, but then kept quiet.

Her eyes were fixed on me, as she stared at me for a long while. "Look, Luxury," I began, going to her.

"Is that my name?" She asked, her words puzzling me. "Is this a joke?" I muttered and just as I was about saying something, her next word shocked me.

"Luxury," I called in disbelief.

Chapter 3 GUILT

LUXURY POV.

I woke up, from a nightmare that I couldn't remember but I found myself crying, a sad feeling grip me and I couldn't tell why a part of me didn't want to be alive.

Since I was awake, I will ask questions but the only thing was, there was no around, not until I heard the door shut close. Slowly turning my neck to find a handsome young man staring at me.

"Luxury," He called. Was that my name, it was weird, why did I feel my name was Amy and not Luxury. Why did he look relieved to see me, are we related and what was my business with him.

He frowns when I ask a question, looking disappointed. Maybe he hadn't heard me well, so I requested he remove the mask, rather he left, coming back with an old man who looked oddly familiar.

I felt happy when I saw the old man, almost like I wanted to hug him and cry. This strange feeling all confused me.

And when I asked who he was, he looked shocked, not disappointed, just surprised as he turned to the doctor.

"Do I need to ask you to explain or do you plan to be mute?" He harshly asked the doctor.

"Sorry Sir, no Sir, She might have post traumatic amnesia, an effect from the accident, we will run some tests on her, to check" The doctor explained.

At least I got a piece of information of why I was here. "What are you waiting for, why is she still here?" The old man barks. Even in his harsh voice, there was a bit of concern, he held his hand tightly to the back and his eyes were full with care as he looked at me again.

"Don't worry love, you will be better soon," He assured. He wanted to pat me, but I was covered in bandages. Thus, he withdrew his hands.

"Excuse me," I called out, when the doctor had left. "You still haven't told me who you are?" I reminded, the old man playfully hitting his head.

"I'm Mateo King and over here, is your husband, Michael King," He introduced. "Husband," I muttered, wondering how I ever got married to a man so handsome.

Before they could say anything else, the doctor returned and I was soon rolled away, leaving them in the room.

The environment suddenly becoming hostile with everyone shows how irritated and angry they are to treat me.

"This might hurt a..," she pauses. "Why am I even telling you this," She grumbled, proceeding to inject me with some liquid.

"Jay," the doctor called out. "What, isn't it true, why should I have told her, just when we finally thought she would die, she comes back alive," She snaps.

"Now King would have to bear till she died," She ranted. "Why didn't you just die?" She asked, directing the question to me. "Jay, get out," the doctor yelled, causing her to storm off.

"And I'm not supporting you, we all hate you, but she was being unprofessional about it," He explained, before continuing on with the test.

I don't remember much, I only woke up, finding myself back in the room, with Michael and the old man Mateo, standing at the window, keenly listening to what the doctor had to say.

As I stared, I wondered how bad I had treated him, to be hated, why were we still married.

"Was it the case of a one sided love, did he only love me and I treated him badly for that," I thought.

Soon, he had looked at me, our eyes catching for a blink second before I turned away, not wanting to see him.

"You are awake," He says as the door is locked. "I went to get you food but the hospital said you are already eating some rice porridge," He explained his absence.

I bite my lips, knowing the last part was a lie, I wasn't fed anything, at least not while I was awake and there is no way they wouldn't have fed me that I wouldn't have known.

The only conclusion here was they chose to starve me. "They said you ate a lot, it made me glad," He went, grabbing his chair and sitting close to me, forcing me to turn my face the other way, increasing the pressure on my lips to prevent crying in front of him.

"Is anything wrong?" He asked, now appearing in front, his hand firmly held my face, preventing me from changing direction.

"Luxury," He called out, his voice filled with authority. I couldn't keep it anymore, I found myself crying. "I hate it,' I cried out.

"I hate not remembering anything, I hate how I'm treated now, I can't tell why I'm being punished when I don't even know my crime,"

"Why does everyone hate me, why did they say I don't deserve to live and why, just why did you save me," I busted out, crying even more.

"Who hates you?" He softly questioned and I could sense the anger in his voice as he questioned me.

"If you don't answer, then I will bring every single person in this hospital and shoot them one by one, till either you or them talk," He threatened, his eyes darkened a bit.

"You can't do that now, can you?" I asked, a devilish grin played on his face when he heard that.

"Oh dear, he can and I will join him," The old man returned, looking pissed too. Sighing, I could only close my eyes, not wanting to say anything else.

I wanted to know what kind of person I was, I needed an answer not a threat. They should do whatever they like, I wasn't in the mood to feel threatened.

I heard him sighed afterwards and then his lips brushed against my forehead. "If it helps, you were and still are a good person and I was the asshole," He whispered, before I heard footsteps..

It didn't take less than an hour before I returned, with the nurses and the doctor attending to me. The only thing is, they were badly beating up, their face swollen badly and their body covered in their own blood.

"Go on," He growls at them. "We are really sorry, we won't do it again," They chorused.

I stared in awe, looking at them and then at Michael. "What, you dared me," He groaned, taking his seat.

"Oh and don't worry, they don't work here anymore," He added with a smirk, mumbling something to himself.

"Get out," He yelled at them, forcing them to rush out even though I could see the pain in their eyes as they struggled.

The room suddenly became awkwardly silent, as he proceeded to dish out my food on the plate..

I slowly inhaled the sweet aroma, smiling to myself as I finally got to eat. When I tried using my hands, he firmly held it down.

"Let's me," He offered. "Now listen to me because I will only say it once, it doesn't matter what they do or what they say, you should know these," he paused, looking intensely at me.

"One, I am your husband and two I would do anything and everything to protect you," He says, his eyes never leaving me one bit.

He was incredibly handsome, and the only imperfection he had was a scar, yet it completed his beauty.

How did I ever meet such a perfectly, gentle and loving husband?. "Now eat up," He commanded, shoving the food in my mouth once I opened up but then whipping the excess from my lips.

"What did I do to deserve such a caring husband?" I asked.

CHAPTER FOUR.

"I can't believe she is still her old self," Michael muttered, watching her from the other side of the glass.

For a while, their eyes met and to his surprise she smiled and waved at him. "Don't be deceived, if she is her old self, then she is definitely hiding her pain with her smile," Mr. Mateo muttered, hitting his grandson in his back.

"The doctor wants to see you," he informed Michael. "I thought you were to handle any doctor visit," He grumbled.

"It's important, besides you will just be leaving her for a while," He teased. Dragging Michael with him.

"Enough, I'm not your little grandson anymore," Michael breaks free, arranging himself, just before they get to the office.

Arranging his dress, his cold look immediately came back on as he barged in. He let his grandfather exchange greetings, however when he got too long, he cut them short.

"What was so important you needed me here?" His irritated tone was enough to break their conversation.

"We ran some tests and to which we discovered her being crippled is only for temporary while," he began.

His words excited Michael that he barely could keep his composure. "Do whatever it takes?" He agreed almost immediately.

"Wait boy, what type of treatment?" Mateo stepped in. "Returning to her memories, we noticed her legs moving just as she received flashes of her accident, " the doctor explained.

"So you are saying If she remembers now, then she can walk," Mateo quickly summarize.

"Doctor, she can't remember, she shouldn't be made to remember, not now, can we delay the process?" Mateo inquired, confusing both Michael and the doctor.

"But she would be able to walk," Michael slowly reminded his grandfather. "Doc, be a good lad and excuse me and my grandson," he instructed, waiting till the doctor was gone before glaring at the son.

"What good will her walking do for you or for us?" He snap. "If she remembers, everything, then the plans you have would be shattered. She told you didn't she?"

"You will ask for her forgiveness but she won't give you, do why stress?" He question.

"Listen to me," Mateo calms himself. "If she doesn't remember then you can rekindle that spark, she is going to leave you, she is going to hate you, for heaven sake, do you know the hell she pass through with you,"

"And I have watched the clip, the night of her accident, you killed her child, the only thing she held unto, we can't have her remember that," he explained.

"But her legs, she will desperately want to walk," Micheal brought up. "she won't want to, if you like her the way she is, beside I can find other means or better still, you will make her fall deeply in love with you, before we let her remember," Mateo listed.

"Now you can go and meet her, I will finish up with the doctor here," he urge, but pauses when he saw guilt rewritten all over Michael face.

"Come on boy, if you can heartlessly torture her, then you can heartlessly lie to her," he teased, pushing Michael out the door and ushering the doctor back in.

Michael step were heavy and he returns to the Luxury room. Her smile even shattered him and he could only keep a straight face while sitting close to her, noticing how happy she was, he calmly tap her head, directing it to his way.

"You seem happy today, care to share," he requested hoping to get a sense of relief from her.

"I heard from the doctor, that's there is a way I can walk," She brought, his face turning pale instantly.

"Yes, there is," he murmured. "You don't seem happy about it," she noticed. "Look, Luxury, I nearly lost you once and only then did I realized how important you are to me, however this procedure, I might lose you forever," He explained.

"So it's too dangerous to risk," she completed and he could only nod..

"I'm really sorry, it's all my fault, I place you in this mess, I was so," he paused, unable to complete his world.

"But I promise you, that I will find other methods, money won't be a barrier," he assured, his eyes staring into hers.

Why didn't he ever noticed her big blue eyes that looks just like the peaceful sky.

She was beautiful, effortlessly beautiful even without make up, although bruise, her skin was still milky and smooth. Her face so soft to touch, he felt tempted to pull her cheek.

"Huh," she pauses, her words got his to divert from her looks and now at her words.

He could tell she was sad about this and yet was hiding it from him, her pain hurts him.

He wanted to fulfil all she wanted but now, what she wanted wasn't impossible. "Can at least know why I got into an accident?" She asked.

"You two had an argument," Mateo step in. "You were always right about his secretary wanting to seduce him and that night you got feed up and was heading to my place," He began, gaining Luxury attention.

"You left his territory not fully guarded and his rival decided to hurt what he loved most," he concluded.

"He was a fool to let you go, to let his anger get the best of him," he went on as Michael stood up for his grandfather to seat.

Michael stood amaze by his father acting skills but couldn't utter anything. "He doesn't look like one, in fact I feel lucky to be giving a second chance with him," Luxury finally spoke out, defending Michael.

"Michael is sweet, warm and kind and extra bonus, handsome," she chuckled, causing Mateo to laugh too.

"I'm sure there was other ways I could have told him, my past self seemed reckless,"

"Enough," Michael chipped in, her words only choked him the more. "But it's true, I feel safe with you and I feel lucky to have you, if you don't want me to go through this procedure, then I promise, I won't," she assured, getting both of them to look at her.

Mateo smile, predicting her words already, while to Michael, he carried a heavy burden he is tasked with. By keeping the truth alway from her.
