Lyceon- The Dark Lord

"Happy birthday, Ali. You are such a sweet soul we are blessed to have in our pack." Meredith chimed in, the owner of the only Flower shop in Midnight Crescent moon pack.

"Thank you so much, Mary." Allison smiled. She was the generous girl of the town even though people treated her badly sometimes but she never minded. Why? Because she was not the one among them. She was the human girl in the werewolf pack.

"It's a small birthday gift from my side to you, Ali." Meredith smiled, wrapping the Jasmines into a beautiful bouquet for Allison. She grinned, thanking her.

"Any news from Mason and Elijah?" Meredith asked about her family to which Allison shook her head, sighing. She only had her father and brother in the name of a family who had gone to the big battle on the southern side to support another pack as an alliance.

"Nothing. Mason told me not to contact them for a few days. I guess they are preparing for the war in the Blue Moon pack." Allison said, thinking about her brother's words. Meredith caught the sadness in her eyes.

"Don't worry, sweety. They would be just fine. My nephew is also there. And once this war is finished, Alpha Ralph will throw the ball party for our warriors who will come back after defeating the enemies. Our warriors are the best in the all-North region." Meredith said proudly and reassuringly. It inflated Allison's spirit and she nodded before leaving the shop.

As Allison walked out, someone knocked into her, staggering her backward.

"Ali, where have you been, I was waiting for you, girl. Happy birthday." Nora jumped on her as soon as she spotted Allison walking down the street. Nora was her only sincere friend in the pack.

"Fresh flowers!" Nora commented seeing the bouquet in her hands and wiggling her brows at her. Though Allison was dressed nicely today but there was no delight in her features. She didn't want to celebrate her birthday when her family was on the edge of sacrificing their lives to fulfil their duties. Nora started rambling about how her new crush said yes to her proposal.

"Alright, it's a double celebration so let's go to celebrate it." Nora said cheekily and pulled her to the nearby cafe at the corner of the street. Nobody cared to wish her despite knowing her birthday, But they only used her for their own selfish reasons.

Yes, she was a healer, a human girl in the werewolf pack. Being a human is like black stain in the werewolf pack so they were always transferred to the other division of the mortal realm or where they served as slaves. But there are few exceptions when the Alpha decides to keep them in the pack for their extraordinary services and that's why Alpha Ralph decided to keep Allison to heal his pack members in case of injuries.

But what people didn't know was that Allison was not an ordinary healer but possessed hidden powers which she inherited from her deceased mother who was pure blood of a white witch. But she concealed her traits from others in fear of not getting used by her own pack members, especially the Alpha.

Once her grandmother told her that after turning eighteen her inherited powers will emerge. Though she already had the glimpse of them but she suppressed them.

"So tell me, you are eighteen now, how's your powers working?" Nora asked in a hushed voice not to deliver any hint to the people hanging around.

"I didn't practise anything for a few days. You know I'm worried about Dad and Mason. They didn't reply to my messages. I don't even know how they are doing?" Allison let out in distress before Nora ordered her favourite cheesecake with a cappuccino.

"Babe, today is your birthday. Don't be sad, I'm sure they will be fine." Nora replied before looking at the menu. Everyone was saying the same but Allison had a gut feeling that something big was going to happen but she didn't dare to voice it out otherwise people would criticise her badly.

"I hope they so!"Alison muttered when Nora squealed excitedly. Allison startled and followed her gaze. She sighed, rolling her eyes. Two famous bad boys from their college just entered the cafe. Sebastian and Asher who were known as playboys in the town. Nobody dares to mess with them as Sebastian was the son of Alpha and Asher was the Beta's son.

And ironically, Asher was Nora's current boyfriend who proposed to her yesterday.

"Oh my God, Ash baby." Nora couldn't hide her giddy smile seeing him. Asher winked at her before taking a seat at the corner of the table beside Sebastian who smirked at Allison but she totally ignored it.

She never liked them, even when the Alpha's son proposed to her to be his girlfriend, she politely declined knowing very well that he just wanted to get into her panties and discard her later. But after her rejection he never stopped stalking her. It should have hurt his Alpha ego but he didn't take it to heart and was determined to get her.

"Don't tell me Asher proposed to you?" Allison asked calmly seeing Nora's eyes which were continuously eye raping Asher. Nora briefly looked at her friend before turning her gaze to her boyfriend.

Allison screamed in mind knowing her answer.

"How could you mingle with that boy, Nora. He just wants your body, don't you know how they are?" Allison almost hollered. Nora smiled, waving her hand.

"Who cares?" Nora shrugged.

"By the way, I can also use him in the same way in which he is experienced. Ain't I?" She grinned, whispering under her breath while staring at Asher who blew her a kiss.

Allison gaped at her friend for her cunning personality. Obviously, she is the male version of a womanizer.

"He asked me to keep our relationship private until he says so. So….I can have fun too." Nora wriggled her brows at Allison who sighed once again being fed up with her friend's careless antics.

"Allison, did your family contact you yet?" out of blue a girl in tight-fitted jeans and a crop top approached them and asked bluntly without greeting them. Allison looked up at her, startled. She grabbed Nora's attention too.

"Who Are you?" Nora asked, disliking her for hiding the view by standing in front of them. The girl took her seat beside them.

"My name is Naomi and my mate Darius also went for that big war happening in the south region." Naomi sighed.

"I wish I could stop Darius from going there!" She murmured and suddenly tears brimmed her eyes causing both girls to look at her in uncertainty. Allison had seen her on the campus many times, she was one tough girl but they never interacted in person with each other before.

"Naomi, why would you say this?" Allison asked in apprehension though she knew she wouldn't like the response. Naomi looked at both girls in perplexity and slight irritation.

"Don't you know that they are not going to win this battle when the world's most powerful creature is going to stand against them." Her answer made the adrenaline rush through Allison's body in anxiety. She exchanged a glance with Nora and gulped before looking at Naomi again.

"Wha..what are you saying?" she asked in a low voice. Naomi was on the verge to explode now but her anger was not towards them.

"Our own pack, knowing well that the Blue Moon pack will lose, still sent its best warriors to them for the upcoming war to get killed by the hands of the most feared and dreading Creature of this world whose mere presence can paralyse you to the death. I can't believe that pack agreed to stand against Him in this war. And grab our people in this bloodbath too." Naomi growled, fisting her hands. Her anger against her own pack was visible.

Allison was on the verge of losing her senses. Her body started quivering with this new information. She thought the Blue Moon pack asked for assistance from her pack, to fight the war with some rogue pack. That's why Alpha Ralph sent the best warriors including her father and brother with the other thirty members as support to the Blue Moon pack.

She looked at Nora who was frozen on her seat. She was also shocked by this revelation.

"Who..who is He?" Allison asked with a shaking voice. Naomi turned her raging eyes to her and smiled angrily.

"How could the healer know about our world properly? You sure are as dumb as they say who don't know the 'Dark Walker'. Guess what, you won't even be getting the bodies of your family after this war ends." Naomi spat at Allison and left in rage, not before glaring at Sebastian's way.

Allison swallowed the tight lump in her throat and rubbed her shaking palms to calm herself down. She was not offended by Noami's words as she was habituated to these remarks but listening to the newly found deceit by her own pack, she was agitated. That's why she had been feeling dreadful since morning.

"Nora, What she said, Is it true? Who is this Dark walker?" Allison was on the verge of crying but Nora stared at her in trance. She looked back at Sebastian and Asher who were talking to each other.

Nora grabbed her hand and rushed her out of the cafe to her home. She shushed her on the way for not speaking anything. Once they were inside the four walls of Allison's home, Nora turned around and held her head grunting.

"Nora, you are scaring me.. Please tell me. What's happening? Has our pack really deceived us for not disclosing the full information about this battle? They kept us under the shadows and who is this creature…" Allison almost begged her friend who widened her eyes.

"No.. Don't say. Ali, nobody takes his name openly. He is the Dark walker. He is the most powerful man on this earth and can create the bloodbath in seconds around you by his bare hands only." Nora voiced out, recalling the words once her father said to her.

"Who?" Allison dared to ask. She was not ready to lose her family by that damn man's hands. Nora stared at her and uttered silently.

"LYCEON, the dark walker, the last original Lycan blood from the deadly kingdom in the whole world."

An agonising cry left by her mouth as she stumbled over the sharp trunks and branches which punctured her delicate feet. But she knew she had only this chance to escape this dark kingdom and its dark lord who had created the bloodbath for her. She could only see the dead bodies around and the stinky bloody smell of them invaded her nostrils. She gagged up and forced down the urge to vomit.

Run! Run!

Her mind chanted as she ran through the unknown lane in the dark forest in dizzy form. She could feel HIM after her but she didn't see anyone around her, only the powerful and deep howls and growls could be heard which shook her soul to the core. She didn't care about her bloody feet and ran as fast as she could. Her breathing Laboured and body was exhausted to the point of giving up but she didn't give up.

Suddenly something struck hard on her back and she screamed and flew ahead, knocked into the tree roughly. Her body was in immense pain, she was assured that her head was bleeding. When she spotted the dark silhouette of a very tall figure incomparable to a normal human approaching her at unimaginable speed and stopped a three step away from her, she wailed in misery.

'Why is this happening to me? I never did anything wrong to anyone in life then why?' she wanted to scream to her goddess for putting her in this misery.

She started trembling all over in trepidation and sobbed.

"Please, please leave me."

A deep chuckle resounded the dark space of the forest all around. It seemed malicious, too malicious.

"You dared to escape my dark coop, Angel. For a fragile human like you had the guts to escape me. Didn't I tell you… You can never evade me. Not in this life, You are mine…MINE." His dark intimidating aura absorbed the lively atmosphere around them as He said those menacing words.

She felt suffocated as she recoiled in horror and dared to look into His eyes which were shining under the moonlight but then suddenly his pupils bounced back to blood red. She screamed loudly as the earth-shattering howl pierced into the tight air and HE jumped on her with the loudest growl.

Allison woke up screaming and sat upright on the bed in second. She was breathing heavily with a racing pulse and sweating profusely all over her body. She stared wide-eyed ahead at the wall and summoned up her senses before realizing that she had a nightmare.

A nightmare!

But she never had any nightmare like this before.

She rubbed her chest to calm her erratic heartbeat and grabbed the glass of water before gulping it hastily. She sighed and tried to calm herself. It was only a nightmare, which nothing has to do with reality. She consoled her mind and heart.

Allison checked her phone to see any messages from her brother or father. But nothing!

Sighing, she had her breakfast uninterestedly and got ready to go for college. Allison was in the last year of the healing practitioner course and She was the best in her field. Though others were her juniors and lacked in this field which made her the main healer in the pack.

Today Nora was on holiday because of a few guests coming into her home. Allison recalled yesterday's conversation with Nora and couldn't help but gulp her saliva.

The dark walker, Lyceon, was an original Lycan blood. She was taught in her school classes about Lycans, the most powerful creatures and more muscular than werewolves, vampires and other creatures. They are like Kings of the Alpha kings and superior to all. Everyone thought lycans had already vanished from the earth until a decade ago When His brutality and notorious presence were spotted by a few werewolves in bloodbath around the world.

He was feared among the people to the extent of not being called by anyone audibly by his name. Nobody had seen his deadly Lycan monster except the few who didn't turn alive after messing with Him. Lycans are the feral monsters who scream only death, vicious death. That's why they are called the 'Dark Walkers.'

And Lyceon Villin Whitlock was the one of the originals from pure Lycan blood. Nobody knows his existence or his ancestors as no books mentioned his breed in detail anywhere. She assumed that beginning eras were vaguely recorded so the real truth probably died with the Firsts of Lycans.

He won all the battles for the past years and took the strongest packs under his wings. Whoever tried to challenge him or stood against him for a battle, had faced death.

Rumours said that He had killed his own mate a few years ago leaving him with no weakness as He wanted.

And imagining Him killing her family, Allison felt her stomach churned. She wanted to confront Alpha and the superior associates of the pack about this but Nora stopped her from doing so. She asked her to wait until this war ended. But now only one night passed, and she became restless.

What a birthday present she got yesterday! Of course the terrible one!

She sighed before opening her locker when Sebastian approached her, making her self conscious.

"Hey Ali, looking beautiful as always sweetheart. Are you free tonight? Ah, of course you will. After all, the family had gone to the great war, right?" and unknowingly he made Allison recall the unpleasing stunt by his father to his pack members just for keeping his fake pride and fawning to the high authorities for phoney stardom.

Allison pinched her eyes before closing her locker and turning to face him.

"Sebastian, I don't have any wish to hang out with you as I clearly mentioned before. And about my family¦" Suddenly her face turned grim as she neared Alpha's son and sneered,

"... If something happens to them then I will personally retaliate against the person who caused all of this."

She couldn't realize how she gathered the audacity to speak to the future Alpha like this. She was infuriated at this whole scenario. The spitting fire was oozing out of her which Sebastnian couldn't avoid, he was shocked. This shy human girl dared to utter like this. Didn't she know the consequences of this?

But instead of being furious at her, he was intrigued and fascinated. He wondered What made her behave like this?

"Okay! But I was going to ask you to accompany me to the Alpha ball, Ali." He stated, ignoring her flaming soul.

Stupid Alpha ball! There their warriors are fighting to the death and here they are going to celebrate the yearly Alpha ball.

"Not interested!" She gritted her teeth and left before he could say further.

On the way, she happened to cross the path of college bimbo Scarlett who gave her signature glare for attracting Sebastian's attention among all the she- wolves. But Allison ignored her and dodged her attack when Scarlett was going to trip her ahead like last time but Allison was fast forward to save herself. She stormed to her class room not before hearing Scarlett's high pitch tone,

"Bitch!"

Allison couldn't concentrate on the lecture, Her mind was on her brother and father who didn't even wish her on her birthday.

The bell rang and she sighed in relief. She was in distress so She thought to bunk the next class when she heard the commotion outside the college while walking out of the hall. She headed there to see the Beta of the pack summoned for an emergency meeting with the students whose families went to the war. Her heart accelerated imagining the worst scenario.

After an hour, all of them gathered at the big clearance, behind the forest lake. The Alpha Ralph, his beta and other members were presented with gloomy faces. And Allison's heart dropped as her intuition predicted the bad news rushing out from her Alpha when she saw the two warriors from her pack in injured form standing behind their Alpha.

"I believe everyone is here." Alpha Ralph let out, looking into the gathering. Allison already called and requested Nora to come with her so ditching her guests Nora accompanied her. She squeezed her friend's hand and waited for the announcement by their Alpha.

"This immediate meeting call was needed as we received the news about our warriors who were sent to our ally Blue moon pack in the South for the battle against their enemy. I am unfortunate to break this news to you that we lost the war." Alpha Ralph inhaled a sorrowful breath as the confusing murmuring started among the people.

Allison gripped Nora's hand with a racing heart and staggered back. Nora held her tightly before hugging her from the side. Tears were already gathering up in her emerald eyes. She was praying for their safety even though she had an idea about the Dangerous consequences.

"Now The blue moon pack has ceased to exist with the other three packs who came for their support. Our few warriors lost their precious lives and two ran back to evade death by the hands of the lethal enemy." Alpha sounded sad and the two warriors walked ahead with injured bodies. Their eyes were dull and their faces seemed in fright. They had escaped death! It sounded weird.

Allison's breath hitched listening to Alpha. It means her father and brother are no more. And suddenly the gamma of the pack started naming the people who lost their lives.

A loud scream resounded among the people and Allison realised it was from her when she heard the first name taken was her fathers. Nora hugged her while consoling her. After her, few more people cried for the loss of their loved one.

"No..no..Nora. They are lying. My father can't die. He was the best warrior among others. No..How could they?" She cried in her friend's arms.

"We were informed that the rest of the warriors were nowhere to be found nor their dead bodies, the chances are that they were taken as prisoners by the enemy.." Allison pulled herself out of Nora's arms when she didn't hear her brother's name in the list. A small hope aroused in her heart. Perhaps Mason was still alive. But the loss of her father still crushed her soul.

"Who is the enemy, my son is not in the list, Alpha. Who took them?" the middle aged man sobbed asking that. Allison remembered him as her father's friend, Mathew Whose son was trained with Mason and used to patrol the pack territory with Mason.

"Is that true that the enemy you are talking about is the Dark Lord from the dark walkers kingdom?" among the crowd, Noami dared to question her Alpha with bloodshed eyes. She was the strongest female warrior and was a leader. Losing a mate is worse than death and Noami could feel it. She had gone through various painful concussions for the past week. One could tell if your mate is dead or not, as You feel that unbearable pain.

Alpha Ralph stared at her and then his pack members in deep thought before breaking to them.

"Yes, He is."

The crowd burst into mourning and a painful cry with the fear and pain of losing their family members to the deadly creatures.

"So…so He will come after us, Alpha? He will also attack us." one of the pack members asked, he was shaking visibly with the mere thought of facing The deadly creature. Others gasped loudly listening to him like he was telling the ultimate facts.

"He might have. The Lycan king from the Dark Walkers kingdom sent this message through our two warriors and showed his distaste for supporting the Blue moon pack." He gestured to the two warriors who came back alive. It means they didn't run back but were spared by the Lycan king to send the message to their Alpha.

"He showed mercy by sending them back. If we had known that the Blue moon pack were going against the Lycan King, I would have denied sending my warriors to support them." Alpha Ralph said with dismay.

Lies! Lies!

Allison wanted to scream at him. This good for nothing Alpha knew but why he did that, she wanted him to spill that.

"So the only thing we can do is ask for an official apology and give our submission to the lycan king. I know, as an Alpha I may look like a coward but I am keeping my pack's safety and survival first by putting my pride aside. We are nothing in front of the Dark walkers and every strong pack around knows that. I can only do this and save my people from the wrath of the Dark lord." Alpha Ralph announced.

"We are with you Alpha, we can't lose more people and our lives. We will ask for mercy. Whatever seems good, we follow our Alpha." Someone said from the crowd and others agreed and said yes In unison.

Allison was bewildered by the scene. That bloody dark lord killed her father and there were no traces of her brother. And here her pack members were acting like chicken-hearted monkeys.

Her own pack, Alpha and people were deceiving then how could she blame that Lycan?

"So as we decided this Alpha ball will take place on the due date and all the Alphas from northern and southern sides will be invited. I decided to invite the Lycan king to bestow his presence and I will personally ask for forgiveness from Him. We don't want any war declaration by the Lycans so I want everyone of you to be on your best behavior. Rest will be in the hands of fate." Alpha Ralph sighed and earned mixed signals from everyone. Astonishment, fear, apprehension, outrage and all. But nobody has any say in this.

Their destiny would be decided by the Dark Lord Himself.

After the Alpha dismissed everyone, Nora took Allison to her home but she denied staying home. She knew one of the warriors who came back alive was her brother's friend. So she went straight to his home.

Naomi was already there with rage emitting all over her body. She was glaring at the man who declined telling her anything. She was on the verge of shifting but Allison stopped her.

Allison moved near the man, Noah and took his bloody hand. With closed eyes, she chanted something and sudden relief washed over Noah's face. Obviously the healer was healing him.

"Noah, we won't cause you trouble but please can you tell us where my brother and Naomi's mate possibly could be?" Allison asked softly, controlling her tears. She had mourned over her father's death for hours but only the news about her brother could put her at little ease.

Noah seemed lost, he didn't want to lie to them.

"Ali, I.. I really don't know. I can't say that they have died already or escaped because I didn't see them after the war end.."

"Then why the fuck you came back leaving your warriors there alone. Is this how you show your loyalty?" Naomi burst at him taking menacing steps towards him but Nora stopped her and pulled her back. Noah seemed to be taken back by her statement.

"I.. I didn't. I didn't escape. Nobody can escape Him. He release us." He started trembling, like recalling the deadly sight he had witnessed of the Dark Lord, astonishing the girls. Allison immediately pulled him on the couch and passed him water to drink. The strong warrior was being weak in front of them was something they couldn't digest.

"Noah, calm down. Please tell us clearly who left you."

"He..The dark walker. Ali, I swear,He is not a mere wolf. He is a giant monster.. Looking lethally feral you can never imagine. He annihilated the four packs in his human form only." Noah choked on his words recalling the moments of how He ripped and slashed those wolves with his only claws. The girls were stunned to the core. Allison was speechless.

In his human form! He killed thousands of people in his human form.

Her heartbeat slowed down and suddenly everything around her blurred.

So the saying was right.

He is the Death Himself!
