Chapter 1 Change

It could have been anyone at all why did it have to be Florencia Douglas? Why did it always have to be her? Every time she felt she had finally gotten close to Thomas, Florencia was always lurking somewhere, especially with Matilda Donovan, Thomas's mother, and the Luna of the evergreen pack

Maryanne sighed. She had left her wealth and her glorious family background to come and live and work with Thomas Donovan who had been her crush and obsession since her college days. Thomas was a bully and he was rude, yet she still managed to fall deeply in love with him. Thomas had never treated her nicely except he wanted her to teach Florencia something she was able to master about the computers in their company.

Maryanne was a true prodigy in computers, but she had somehow trained Florencia to become her rival in the same field of because of her obsession with Thomas. Maryanne was in deep pain as she sat on her bed. Reading the message that Thomas sent to her.

He had asked her to come and prepare Florencio for the presentation of the new software she, Maryanne, had made. She was more than furious. Today was the day that completed the two years she had asked her family for. They had kept their part of the deal and it was her turn to keep her part of the deal. She knew she was under strict instructions not to leave the house because of the last time she had insulted and almost fought Florencia, However, Thomas knew the kind of person she was so he sent his driver to go and pick her up.

She couldn't take it anymore. Sighing to herself, she began to pack her things into a big bag. All her clothes, shoes, bags, and everything else she had, the packed them into the bag Once she was done, she pulled the bag behind her and walked confidentially towards the gate. Two guards stood at the gate, guarding the gate. Maryanne exhaled sharply. She had hoped that old T would be the one at the gate. If he was the one, she could plead with him to allow her to leave

"Good morning" She greeted.

They stared at her ignoring her greeting but giving her their full attention.

"I need you to open the gate for me" She said again.

The two men stored at her as if she had gone nuts. Well, she didn't blame them. She heard them being given strict orders not to open the gate for her to leave except she was being driven by Thomas's driver.

"Can you at least call Old T so I can speak to him?" She asked softly. "Or do you also feel entertained by the way I'm being treated here? I hear the maids gossip about how stupid I am to leave my family and stay with a man who doesn't care a fickle about me. Don't you think leaving is worth it? You can simply say that the driver was the only one you opened the gate for. You can say whatever and no one would question you because it's what happened."

"If you feel too strongly about the punishment, you can run away as well." After all, this is not the pack house, Maryanne said. "Don't look so surprised, I have heard most of the conversations held in this house. I know that you all are a special type of people."

One looked at the other and he nodded and left. Maryanne prayed in her heart that old T would accept for her to leave.

"Maryanne," Old T called, "What is the matter? I see you with your bags, are you leaving? Thomas says he will send his driver here soon. We can't allow you to leave, at least not without letting Thomas know. I'm sorry!

Maryanne smirked at him Right then, the driver honked outside the gate. Old T shrugged and Maryanne kept her smirk on her face. The gate was opened and she walked out with her luggage, into the car. The driver was surprised to see her with a big bag behind her.

"Madam, we are going for a presentation, not a journey." The driver said

"Says who?" Maryanne smirked

The driver did not know how it happened out when he realized himself, Maryanne was gone. Shamefully, he drove back to the company, Thomas was waiting for him, impatiently in front of the company.

"Where have you bean, you fool?!" Thomas demanded restraining himself so that his voice would not be heard by the guests he had in the company.

"Sir... I can't explain what happened, sir. I found myself at the airport." He said. "I don't know what happened

"What do you mean by you just found yourself of the airport Thomas bellowed "Can you hear yourself, you idiot?!"

The driver shrunk back in fear. He prayed to his god for deliverance. Somehow, another car drove into the company and Matilda stepped out of the car.

"What's the matter, tommy?" Matilda asked. "I received Florencia's call. She said there was an emergency at the company. What happened and where is Maryanne?"

"I sent this fool to bring her and just listen to the crap he is telling me." Thomas screamed.

"Keep your damn voice down, Thomas Donovan!" Matilda ordered "Not a single sound out of your mouth

She turned to the shaking driver "What happened? Talk to me, tell me everything that happened from when you arrived at the house and mean everything."

The driver nodded shakily. "When arrived and honked, Maryanne was standing with Old T and Frank and Don, she was with a very big trunk box and wondered why she took it along she held this confident smile as thave never seen her carry.'

"When I asked her why she took the bag since we were only going to the company, she smirked and sold, says who? We aren't going to the company, we're going to the airport."

Matilda's face turned grim, "let me guess, you found yourself at the airport?"

"Exactly madam."

"Leave." She ordered and the man left hurriedly, thanking her as he ran away. Thomas glared at his retreating figure.

"Mom..."

"Just as feared." Matilda hummed. "The girl is one of our kind. She has a special ability too."

Chapter 2 Return

Maryanne sat through her flight, unable to wipe the smirk off her face. She had finally taken the first step toward freedom and she was very proud of herself It was easier than she thought. Perhaps if she trained more, she would be able to control a lot of people to do her bidding, just like Matilda.

The good thing was that not everyone knew about it. Only her older brother, Michael knew about it. Speaking of which, she had texted him immediately after she arrived at the airport and she was more than certain that he would be awaiting her return. She smiled. Of course, she had been rather foolish to leave her family and visit a fool who didn't appreciate her.

The flight ended and she did her checkout. She went to the parking lot and she spotted Michael out easily. Being the Beta's son, he stood out among every man in and around England. She was happy to see him. Michael was equally excited to see his sister. He could see that she had lost a lot of weight and she didn't look as royal and pretty as she used to.

"Look at you, you have become so ugly, Michael said painfully. "And thin too Maryanne smiled guiltily. "Brother." She hugged him tightly and Michael's face broke into a soft doting smile

"Let's get you home." He said, collecting her bag from her Maryanne was happy to be back to receiving love from everyone. She was selfish to have left before, but now she was going to be selfless by doing things for her family.

Michael drove her personally to their home since she wanted her arrival to be secret. Her parents were just eating together when they heard the door open.

"Must be Michael," Sally said sipping her tea elegantly. Maryanne texted her best friend to say she was around again. The girl could not contain her excitement and promised to be there in a few minutes.

"Mom, Dad," Michael called as he entered behind Maryanne. "You won't believe what came from France."

"French fries?" Sally asked, not looking up.

"Lucky guess," Maryanne said. Both parents turned to stare at her immediately. Sally was so happy, she began to cry.

"My princess! My baby girl!" She ran to hug her tightly. "Oh you've grown so much, two years felt like hell! These men were so boring!" She cried. Maryanne laughed, hugging her mother just as tight.

"I missed you to mama."

Donald got up and moved his wife away carefully, then he pulled Maryanne into a bone-crushing hug "Don't give your mother all the hugs and tell me you're tired. Dad has also missed you."

"Yes, but I missed her way more!" Sally said, pushing Donald away from her daughter. "She's my daughter, hug your son."

Donald held a bullied expression. "How unfair." He cried. Michael laughed at his parents.

"You guys, you're too old for this. Allow her to freshen up so she can eat and rest." He said. "You know how Allison will be when she comes to see her:"

Sally and Donald laughed, nodding their heads. "We need to celebrate," Donald said. "I'm about to visit the Alpha in the pack house. My daughter missed the mating ceremony for the pack, the next one is going to be a long while. So we can throw a banquet for the return of my daughter."

Maryanne rolled her eyes. "Yeah, do what you want Daddy, I'll just go up and have my bath before Allison arrives."

"Where's that crazy woman?!" Came Allison's shrill voice from the door. "Maryanne you witch!" Maryanne rolled her eyes. "If you're going to insult me like this, I might just get missing again."

"What?! Never princess" Allison said immediately. "Hi Sally, hi Donald, hi Mike. Come on, let's go up! You haven't showered, you reek!" Allison pulled her up the stairs as she spoke.

"And girl, you're so ugly now! You even grew thinner. You fool!"

Maryanne rolled her eyes and allowed herself to be pulled by her best friend. After taking her shower and changing into a nice dress, she sat in her bed, combing her hair. Allison walked in with a tray of food and wine.

"Come and celebrate the return of a stubborn princess," Allison said as she placed the tray on Maryanne's study desk.

"Let's eat in my bed, duh," Maryanne said. "I miss eating in my bed, doing stuff that will naturally make me gag."

Allison was so happy that she couldn't hide her smile. She carried the food to meet Maryanne in the bed, sat in with her, and folded her legs beside the tray.

"Let's eat."

The two girls began to eat the food. Maryanne held a grateful expression on her face, she couldn't believe she was back at home, being fed her mother's food. She was so happy.

"How was it?

"It was very bad, very terrible! I can't say all that I went through Alli, it was so bad." Maryanne said softly. "Thomas is just a fool. But I can't help the feeling that I'm the worse fool."

"Never compare yourself to that animal! Never!" Allison warned. "Also, I think you were just stubborn."

"What does it change, Alli? My parents warned me not to go, Michael even went as far as to threaten to cut all communication with me and eventually did that... I still ventured into it, coercing my family into letting me go, and all for what?"

"You learned, didn't you?" Allison inquired. "Will you also say you didn't learn anything?"

"Well, I know learned something, yeah," Maryanne said. "But there is one thing I'm afraid of."

"What's that?' Allison asked, shoving a piece of toasted bread in her mouth. "Whatever could make the Bullyvan princess afraid?"

"I think my parents will want me to get a mate, I'm turning 24 soon. I will be required to have a mate as soon as possible."

"That's not an issue," Allison said happily. "There's this beautiful man you should meet

"Beautiful man?"

"Yes. His eyes, they're golden."

Chapter 3 Have we met before

"Maryanne! Hurry up, the banquet is starting already! You will be introduced soon!" Sally exclaimed softly. If one took a look at Sally, one would assume she is as soft as her voice was. They would never know how strict and hardened she can be, Sally always did everything with top-notch elegance.

"Mom, what makes you think I heard you?" Maryanne said, walking down the stairs to find her mother, dressed just like royalty should. Her mother was beautiful, and she was happy to have inherited the beauty.

Sally grabbed her cheeks softly, patting them. "Just two days at home and you have grown so beautifully! I can't wait to see what happens when he shows up today."

"Who?" Maryanne asked

Sally giggled softly, shying away from the question. "Hurry now, we can't be late."

Maryanne rolled her eyes. Her mother was just so pretty and petty too. "Okay, Mom.

She walked out of the house in her fairy dress, She didn't know whose idea it was to make such a dress for her but she loved it. The dress had different colors but they were all related to pink and purple. Some rose pink seemed to transition to a deep royal purple and kept on switching between the two colors as it went every which way. The dress was not exactly body hugging but it fit right, perfectly even. It had a slit in the front that was slightly below her middle thigh. Off the shoulder and had a low back

Her brother helped her into the car while her mother helped herself. She shook her head. That was her family. If her father were to be around, he would drive his wife in his car while Michael would always drive her.

When Maryanne arrived at the venue of the banquet which was the ground floor of a big hotel in the state. She loved the decorations and the vibe they gave. Her brother led her backstage where she sat until she was introduced by her father. Then she walked out majestically, giving off the royal vibe she was accustomed to.

Thomas, Florencia, and Matilda were extremely shocked to see the person who walked out from behind the stage. Thomas's shock was even worse because he couldn't believe that he had treated her like crap when she could have changed his entire life.

"Is she truly a Bullyvan?" Matilda asked, sneering visibly at her.

Thomas scowled at her expression. "Wipe that sneer off your face, Mom."

"Or what?" Matilda refuted. "Forget about family background or anything, once a fool, always a fool."

Thomas thought about his mother's words. Perhaps she was right. Even if Maryanne did come from a nice and wealthy family, if she was a fool, her family's wealth couldn't change that. Gradually, his scowling expression also turned to a sneer. He could just embarrass her right in front of her guests to show everyone what kind of a person she was.

He stood up from his seat. Florencia's eyes followed him wherever he went. For her, it was alright since the girl was out of their lives. Honestly, the only issue she ever had with Maryanne was the fact that she was after Thomas, and she was prettier and better than she was. Seeing Thomas going to speak to her made her uncomfortable.

"Where are you headed?" Matilda inquired. "Sit down my boy. It's not the time yet." Thomas sat back down. He might hate what his mother asked him to do, but he could never refute her. Nobody could refute her, not even his father, and he was the Alpha.

Maryanne could see how Thomas stood up, only to sit bock down She smirked. Thomas Donovan is and will always be a fool.

"If you keep smirking like that, people will assume you are scheming something evil," Michael said behind her.

Maryanne turned to smile at him. "But of course, am scheming something wicked right now. Worse than evil, Michael."

"Oh, you," Michael said, shaking his head. He loved his sister so much, he would support her even if she went into the street to break someone's car.

She shrugged. "Who invited the Donovans?

"Uh, Dad I guess. Morn would have never wanted to invite anyone she felt was beneath her class and you know she feels everyone is beneath her class," Michael explained

Maryanne giggled softly, "But of course. It's not like it's entirely a bad thing that they're here too. I am quite happy for them."

"Them?"

"The Donovans and then there is Florencia Douglas," Maryanne said, staring at the lady, straight in the eye "The one who never learns a lesson."

"And I mean it literally, cause she's so dumb, I'd teach her something and ask her what said and she's stutter and fumble then get angry and begin to yell."

Michael frowned. "Yell at you? Who the hell does she think she is to yell at you? And she dares to show her ugly face here? I'm throwing her out!"

"No brother," Maryanne held his arm to stop him. "I like the fact that she is here. It should teach her a thing or two by the end of the banquet"

"Also, I have plans for them." She said, smiling wickedly. "Great plans to welcome them to England."

Michael shivered at the sight of his sister's wicked face. Was she a brute? He couldn't begin to think about what she had planned. It was time for the meet and greet session.

"If my calculations are correct, Thomas will come to me to try and embarrass me because he thinks I'm in love with him.

Michael scoffed. "As if."

"That's what I'm expecting I'm counting on him to do that if he fails to do it, my entire plans will not be put in place." She said. "I will then have to plan on the spot. But knowing Thomas, he's not that smart, he will do just as predicted. can bet on it."

"Whatever happens, don't get too close to people like him, they tend to rub off their stupidity on the rest of the world."

Maryanne nodded. Michael touched her head affectionately and offered her a sweet smile before he left.

Maryanne smiled throughout her way down into the crowd. She knew that people would want to meet her. Someone tapped her from behind, she turned quickly to find a man there. He was somewhat masked but she caught a glimpse of his eyes, they were golden. He looked familiar too.

"Have we met before?" She murmured. Right then, Thomas showed up, obstructing her view of the man. Maryanne's soft expression turned into a terrible scowl instantly, she glared at Thomas.
