Chapter 1 Bound Between Darkness and Hope

In the depths of an enchanted, untouched forest on the outskirts of the bustling city, an extraordinary and enigmatic group of creatures resides. Shrouded in secrecy, they come alive with the setting of the sun, transforming the once ordinary landscape into a realm of mystery and danger.

As twilight descends, the symphony of crunching leaves beneath the paws of majestic four-legged beings fills the air, interwoven with haunting growls and heavy breaths. Deep within the heart of the forest, a gathering of creatures with eyes ablaze like fiery rubies and ears reminiscent of graceful wolves assembles, their anticipation tangible in the night air. They stand united, their human forms concealing their true nature, except for their distinctive, pointed ears-a mark that sets them apart from the mundane world.

These beings are not merely men or wolves; they are a sublime fusion of both, children of darkness and wilderness. In their veins courses the untamed power of the wolf, lending them unparalleled strength, speed, and savagery. Yet, their potential magnifies tenfold under the luminescence of the full moon.

Their enigmatic leader, Varel, towers above them all, his presence commanding respect and fear. With a frame sculpted for dominance and long, formidable fangs, he instills dread among his kin, even in the realm of fearsome werewolves. Varel possesses an understanding, one that sets him apart from his brethren-a realization that, while humans may lack their raw strength, they possess an intellect that could prove fatal to the survival of their species.

"We know of their cunning and intellect, but they are feeble!" Varel's voice reverberates, carrying his conviction. "We can overpower them, claim our rightful place, and secure an abundance of sustenance. What have we to fear?" His words stir the hearts of his followers, their primal instincts ignited.

Among the throng, two young werewolves, Ariel and Luna, harbor dissenting voices. Their spirits reject Varel's doctrine of exploiting humans for personal gain. They understand all too well the peril that such an audacious confrontation would invite upon their kind.

"We cannot remain silent, Luna," Ariel whispers, his voice laden with determination.

"But to defy him would mean endangering our lives," Luna responds, her fear barely concealed.

"We must gather strength and challenge him," Ariel persists, his resolve unwavering.

Luna's tone carries a warning. "Do not act rashly, lest we jeopardize our safety!"

With that, Luna leaves Ariel behind and joins the collective of werewolves, who convene, plotting an attack on a small town nestled at the edge of the forest, just within their dominion.

Ariel sits alone, a solitary figure under the shimmering tapestry of starlight. "Mother, Father, what harm would befall us if we sought peace with the humans?" A question eternally etched in his heart. Ariel yearns for a life intertwined harmoniously with humanity, but it seems an ethereal wish, an impossible dream under Varel's ironclad grip.

As the midnight hour looms and the moon casts an eerie glow upon the land, the signal from their leader resonates through the air, beckoning all werewolves to assemble. "Tonight, we shall feast!" Varel's resounding proclamation resonates through the forest, and the werewolves answer with fervent cheers, an orchestra of readiness. They descend from the woodland depths, their predatory instincts honed on a nearby town.

Without mercy or restraint, they unleash their fury upon the unsuspecting settlement, leaving naught but devastation and bloodshed in their wake. The once-thriving town now lies in ruins, its streets adorned with the lifeless

bodies of its inhabitants, bathed in a sea of crimson. The werewolves revel in their triumph, savoring their grisly conquest.

Ariel, Luna, Helena, and Marcel fall silent, their breaths heavy with the weight of their actions. "I am sickened by this!" Ariel's words escape in a hushed whisper, reaching the ears of his companions. Luna, ever the soothing presence, places a gentle hand on Ariel's shoulder. "We are powerless, Ariel. We must reconcile ourselves to the reality we were born into," she implores, her voice a balm to his anguish. Marcel and Helena join in, enveloping Ariel in their embrace, their expressions etched with sorrow.

As the other werewolves disperse into the night, retreating to their hidden lairs, Ariel, Luna, Helena, and Marcel find themselves stranded amidst the wreckage of the town. Ariel gazes upon his surroundings, his eyes lingering on the lifeless form of a young child, innocent and forsaken in the crimson-stained street.

"Can you not see? Are you blind?" Ariel's voice trembles, his finger pointing towards the child's lifeless shell.

Silence befalls them, and with a resigned shrug, they concede their helplessness. "Forgive us, Ariel. If only there were a wiser path to fulfill your desires, we would stand by your side," Luna reasons, her words laced with a tinge of regret. And so, with a heavy heart, they retreat to the shelter of the forest, their spirits cloaked in sorrow.

When Ariel returns to their humble abode, Helena and Marcel beckon Luna aside for a private conversation. "Luna, your connection with Ariel runs deeper than any of us," Marcel begins, his voice tinged with earnestness. "You possess a beauty unrivaled among our kind. With your gentle words, you may sway Ariel's heart, and perhaps he will find solace in the truth we bear," he adds, urging Luna to soothe Ariel's troubled soul.

The following day, as night veils the world in darkness once more, the werewolves conspire to unleash their fury upon a grander city, teeming with humanity in even greater abundance.

Before the stroke of midnight, they gather, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. Ariel, Luna, Helena, and Marcel stand among them. Varel issues the command, his voice resonating with a chilling authority. "Leave no one standing, eradicate them all!"

Ariel, weary of the unyielding repetition, finds himself detached from the echoes of Varel's command. He yearns for peace, for an existence intertwined with humanity. Standing amidst the collective, he remains motionless. Luna, seizing the moment, reaches out, clasping Ariel's hand. "Do not be foolish, my love. Let us flee!" she whispers, a smile lighting up her face, and with that, she pulls Ariel along, their bodies morphing into shadows as they sprint into the night.

Chaos descends upon the city as the werewolves surge forward, tearing through every edifice that houses humanity, their relentless assault leaving naught but ruin in their wake. Amidst the cacophony of destruction, Ariel's fangs find purchase on the flesh of a towering man, his massive frame crumbling to the ground. Panic grips Ariel's heart as he gazes upwards, his face captured by the unblinking eye of a surveillance camera. In that moment, he flees, disappearing into the labyrinthine depths of the city, a fugitive haunted by the specter of recognition.

Luna, her heart filled with apprehension, scours the cityscape in search of Ariel. She races through the frenzied streets, her eyes scanning every shadow, every alcove. And there, beneath the sheltering arms of a majestic tree in the city park, she finds him. Ariel sits, his visage etched with terror.

"What afflicts you, my love?" Luna's voice carries a tremor of concern as she approaches him.

"The camera, Luna. My face, captured for all to see. Humanity will loathe me now," Ariel's voice quivers, his hopes of a peaceful coexistence hanging by a fragile thread.

Chapter 2 Dire Confrontation

That night, the atmosphere was tense, the wind blowing scattered dry leaves on the ground, with fine dust particles floating in the air, indicating the silence of the city. The dim streetlights added to the eerie ambiance.

In one corner of the city, there was a different kind of activity-a commotion and loud noises of objects colliding. Chelsea, a specialist surgeon, was busy taking care of her parents who had just been attacked by a rampage of werewolf soldiers.

With tears streaming down her cheeks, Chelsea desperately tried to save her parents. "Father, Mother, hold on! I will try to stem the bleeding," Chelsea exclaimed, attempting to stem her parents' blood flow as they were losing a significant amount of blood from their gaping wounds.

Shortly after, a loud scream echoed from Chelsea's house. "Monsters!" Chelsea screamed at the top of her lungs, realizing that her parents' lives were beyond saving.

Chelsea cried and blamed herself. "What good am I as a doctor if I can't save my own parents?" she lamented internally.

Amidst her sorrow, the sound of roaring military vehicles grew louder. Chelsea turned her gaze towards the window, becoming wary of the situation outside. She saw dozens of fully armed soldiers stepping out of the vehicles. The last person to emerge caught her attention-a tall and imposing figure. Despite his apparent age, the man remained strong and formidable.

The man walked towards Chelsea's house. Chelsea grew increasingly apprehensive, her mind bracing for any possible outcome. The man began knocking on the door. "Who are you?" Chelsea shouted, holding a wooden beam and her surgical knife.

"We are from the Intelligence Security and Surveillance Agency for Mutants (ISSAM). We need to talk to you, Chelsea," the man declared firmly.

Chelsea was surprised that the man knew her name. "How do you know my name?" she asked, becoming even more curious.

"It's better if you open the door first. Let's have a civilized conversation. We know you will need protection, and we are here to provide it," the man suggested, asking Chelsea to open the door.

"Go away, I don't need protection!" Chelsea replied firmly.

"Don't be narrow-minded. We know you are intelligent. Control your emotions and open the door before the werewolves return with greater numbers," the man advised once again.

Chelsea pondered, "He's right. I do need to seek refuge in the safest place," she said to herself.

Slowly, Chelsea opened the door, revealing the tall figure of the man, approximately 55 years old but still robust. Dozens of soldiers with their weapons at the ready stood behind him.

"Good evening, Miss Chelsea. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Captain Murdock, the leader of this military operation. We have reviewed your background, and we need your assistance in eradicating the werewolves," Captain Murdock introduced himself to Chelsea.

After approximately 30 minutes of conversation, Chelsea finally decided to join Captain Murdock and entered the military vehicle. They headed towards their secret headquarters.

In another location, Evan, Captain Murdock's subordinate, was a highly skilled soldier known for his exceptional abilities that made him an effective killing machine in every mission. Evan's task was to pick up Arva, a young and brilliant scientist living in a remote house quite far from the city. Arva was interested in joining the mission as he wanted to further develop his new invention-a balancing formula that was speculated to calm down or even humanize werewolves.

As they walked towards their secret headquarters, passing through a small, seemingly uninhabited countryside, Arva accidentally caught sight of a small cottage where a teenage girl, approximately 17 years old, sat crying while clutching her knees. "Evan, can you stop the vehicle? I see a girl crying over there," Arva said.

"Are you crazy? We don't want to take the risk of bringing a stranger outside of our mission with us," Evan replied firmly. Arva was shocked to hear Evan's response. "Are you human? Where is your humanity?" Arva spoke in a raised tone.

"We are only assigned to pick you up; we have no business with anyone else outside of our mission," Evan reaffirmed his task.

"My task is to protect the community. That's why I conducted research and experiments on this new formula. If you don't want to bring that girl, I'm canceling my participation as well," Arva tried to threaten them. However, unexpectedly, Evan hit Arva's face and said, "Sit down and don't make our mission any more difficult!" Evan spoke in a raised tone.

Arva, who fell to the ground, became emotional. He got up and retaliated against Evan. A fight broke out inside the vehicle. Evan's subordinates swiftly subdued Arva and tied him tightly. Arva was now immobilized. Seeing Arva's determination to bring the girl, Evan felt impressed and suddenly said, "Driver, turn back; we'll take the girl and leave." Arva felt relieved upon hearing Evan's command and thanked him.

Finally, the vehicle turned around and quickly approached the crying girl. Evan then got out very cautiously. He assessed the situation before proceeding to approach the girl.

With great care, Evan approached and pointed his weapon towards the girl. "What is your name? And why are you here alone?" Evan tried to gather information about the girl.

The girl stopped crying and stared sharply at Evan. She then turned her gaze to the open door of her house, where two corpses lay. "My name is Livie. Both of my parents were killed in an attack by werewolves," Livie replied softly. Evan extended his hand to the girl. "Alright, come with us. You'll be safe under our protection," Evan said. Finally, the girl joined Evan and Arva on their way to the secret headquarters.

Flashback to when everything was fine. Initially, life was normal, and the situation was safe and peaceful. However, everything drastically changed when a pack of werewolves began attacking the city for no apparent reason. The cause of these attacks remained a question for the central government. The city quickly turned into a ghost town. The local government coordinated with the central authorities to close off access to other cities to prevent further invasion.

**In the Secret Headquarters**

Captain Murdock's vehicle was seen entering the garage, followed by dozens of escort vehicles. Captain Murdock and Chelsea began to disembark from their vehicles and walked towards a special room to monitor the city's activities. "What place is this, Captain?" Chelsea asked with curiosity.

Captain Murdock explained, "This is a secret place we created to seek shelter from the attacks of those savage creatures and where we devise plans to fight against them."

"But do you already know the meaning and purpose behind the werewolves' attacks on the city?" Chelsea asked again, filled with curiosity.

"Not yet, we still don't know why they're attacking the city indiscriminately," the captain answered wisely.

Chelsea and the captain walked along the corridor towards the central room, where all the city's activities could be monitored.

Shortly after, Evan's combat vehicle appeared, followed by dozens of escort vehicles. When Chelsea saw them arrive, she asked again, "Who are they?"

"They are my subordinates assigned to pick up one of the most brilliant young scientists in the country," the captain replied.

Chelsea became curious, "Wow, the best young scientist in the country?" Chelsea thought to herself, feeling amazed. However, the captain was surprised to see an extra person when Livie got off the vehicle. Captain Murdock quickly went out to approach Evan.

"Who gave you the order to bring someone else besides what I instructed?" Captain Murdock looked angry at Evan. Evan fell silent and felt guilty for breaking his superior's rules. Livie cowered in fear as she saw the captain's anger.

"What if she's also part of the werewolf group?" The captain started explaining his reasons and fears.

"I take full responsibility, Captain!" Suddenly, Chelsea stepped forward and hugged the frightened Livie. The captain fell silent for a moment and then said, "Make sure your words can be trusted!" the captain replied.

Livie felt grateful to Chelsea, then she hugged Chelsea tightly with tears streaming down her cheeks. As this emotional moment unfolded, suddenly the city alarm sounded, indicating that danger was occurring there. Everyone rushed to the central room to see what was happening.

They witnessed the horrors on the large TV monitor. They were completely focused on observing the savage actions of the werewolves attacking the remaining inhabitants. As Livie focused on one of the monitors, she saw a werewolf suddenly shift its gaze towards the camera, and Livie screamed loudly, capturing the attention of everyone in the room.

Chapter 3 A Tale of Werewolves and Desires

Chelsea immediately approached the frightened Livie. "What did you see, dear?" Chelsea tried to find out the cause of Livie's terrified scream.

"He was staring at me, sis," Livie replied with a trembling voice.

Chelsea rewound the video that had just scared Livie. She clearly saw Ariel's face, covered in blood.

"They're so cruel, killing brutally and without reason," Evan commented after watching the video.

"Not all of them necessarily are cruel," Chelsea tried to explain based on what she had seen.

"How do you know that not all werewolves are cruel?" Evan asked Chelsea.

"Their gaze!" Chelsea replied briefly.

Captain Murdock walked towards his room, leaving everyone in the central room. Evan followed him from behind along with the guards.

In the control room, there were only Chelsea, Arva, and Livie, accompanied by the camera surveillance crew. They chatted and got to know each other. "Hi, I'm Arva, and who are you?" Arva greeted Chelsea warmly.

"Chelsea, a surgeon," Chelsea replied briefly. "By the way, who are you?" Chelsea asked in return.

"I'm Arva, an amateur researcher," Arva answered with a playful tone, laughing. Chelsea turned and asked again, "Are you the one who created that formula?" with great curiosity.

"Yeah, that's right," Arva casually replied.

They engaged in an exciting conversation, sharing stories about their professions and how they ended up there. Livie, being the youngest, could only stare in astonishment as she listened to their conversation.

"So, you really discovered the right formula to control werewolf emotions?" Chelsea was interested in Arva's recent discovery.

"Yes, although its success hasn't been tested yet. But during the laboratory trials, everything went smoothly," Arva tried to provide details about her discovery.

Chelsea looked at Livie, who seemed confused. "How did you end up here?" Chelsea asked kindly but with a look of surprise.

"My parents were killed by wolves... um... human-like creatures that resemble wolves. Then this sister," Livie pointed towards Arva, "and a soldier brought me here," Livie answered with a trembling and nervous voice.

"Don't worry, as long as you're with me, you'll be safe," Chelsea tried to reassure Livie.

Shortly after, Captain Murdock emerged from his room. Evan signaled to Chelsea and Arva to take Livie to a special room for her safety. After Livie entered and felt secure, they gathered in the central room.

"We will recruit people and train them to become hunters. We're short on personnel to fight against the large number of werewolves, and we'll try using our new weapons," Captain Murdock issued his orders.

"You mean the weapons with ammunition mixed with Arva's formula?" Chelsea asked with a serious expression.

"Yes, we'll give it a try. If it succeeds, it will be a significant victory, and you will become heroes," the captain motivated them.

The troops, under Captain Murdock's leadership, prepared themselves with their new weapons. Evan appeared to be the most meticulous and serious in his preparations. Chelsea admired Evan's dedication. Suddenly, the captain, who had been observing Chelsea all this time, approached and patted her shoulder. "He's our most reliable member, like a killing machine for us," the captain exclaimed. Chelsea, taken aback, responded with a sweet smile.

"So, our goal in hunting werewolves is to disable and control them?" Chelsea continued with a few questions.

"Yes, if we can control them, there would be no need to kill them," the captain calmly replied.

"But I want to kill them!" Chelsea began to show her anger, as she still sought revenge for the deaths of her parents.

Captain Murdock looked at Chelsea's face. "Are you sure? You need to equip yourself before going into battle," the captain advised.

"I will do anything to seek revenge," Chelsea spoke passionately.

"Then, all of you will train with volunteers who want to become werewolf hunters," the captain replied and left Arva and Chelsea.

In the Forest

Luna was seen sitting alone, gazing at the sky in the middle of the grassy field. Ariel appeared from behind and sat next to her.

"What are you thinking?" Ariel initiated the conversation.

"I feel like life is stagnant, no changes. Every day is just about killing, with no satisfaction," Luna expressed her restlessness.

"That's been bothering me too, it feels the same as what you just asked," Ariel commented on Luna's opinion.

"Ariel, do you truly want a change in your life?" Luna asked curiously.

"Yes, Luna. I hope we can live side by side with humans, and we can learn from them about their way of life, and vice versa," Ariel was so obsessed with his desire to live in peace without any warfare.

"I feel the same way, I want life to be colorful, not monotonous like this," Luna replied in a flat tone.

Ariel was surprised by Luna's answer and looked at her beautiful face. "Is there something else that made you change your mind?" Ariel asked.

Luna remained silent, then she stood up and smiled as she said, "I don't know, but I want to marry a human." Luna ran off after expressing her desire.

Ariel fell silent, then he smiled and chased after Luna. While running, Ariel asked Luna again, "What made you think about marrying a human?"

"I don't want to have a child who becomes a killer like me!" Luna answered while speeding up her run. Ariel leaped and caught Luna, who was running fast, and they tumbled on the grass.

"Am I not handsome enough to captivate you and become your husband?" Ariel teased Luna.

"You're handsome, Ariel. But I don't feel anything more than just being true friends," Luna replied softly.

Ariel smiled, "In that case, let's make our dreams come true, Luna. Let's escape from here and try to integrate with humans." Ariel presented an absurd idea to Luna.

Luna fell silent. "It's not that easy, Ariel. Humans won't easily believe in creatures like us, especially when we're currently sounding the war drums." Luna lowered her head.

Ariel remained silent, agreeing with Luna's opinion. Perhaps humans would kill him the moment they first met, Ariel thought to himself.

Finally, Ariel and Luna were at the edge of a high valley, with a breathtaking view of the moon. They spent time together there.
