CHAPTER 01 – THE DISTURBING DREAM

Tevena's POV

I was in the same place of the deep dark wood. I don't know how I came here. Every day, the dream started from the same place. I have never seen this place, I don't know whether this kind of creepy place exists in the world. Even in dreams, I feel the spine-chilling of this place. I was peeking hiding behind a huge tree. Initially, the tree was unclear to me, but now I have identified it as a Southern Red Oak tree. The specialty of this tree is that it was symmetrically divided into two parts vertically one part of it was white and the other part of it was orange mixed with red.

Does this kind of tree exist in the world?

I was looking at the lake and as usual, a white glowing thing was lowering towards the lake bank from the sky. It was like a round unclear thing wrapped with a glowing mist. The round thing that landed on the river bank slowly started to take different shapes and it was finally standing up taking a final shape as a woman with long hair. Her back was visible to me and she was doing something from her hands towards the forest of her right side. It was like she signaled to something or someone to come out from the forest.

From the forest side suddenly, a large wolf emerged bowing its' head towards her! I heard someone whispering to me, "It's not the time yet!" I was confused about who it was and I looked here and there to find no one when I turned my head to look at the lake bank both the wolf and the woman were looking at me.

"Huh!" with a panic I jumped back and I heard the alarm ringing hard. Groaning from the bed I forward my hand to pick the alarm and shut it.

When I woke up my whole body was drenched with sweat. It was 6 in the morning. I opened my eyes and looked at the roof of my room. This vivid dream started exactly two weeks ago and I understood that within another two weeks, I'll be turning 18. In the beginning, the dream was not clear, I saw it with all the blurry pictures, but day by day it started to give me clear pictures of the dream and today it was one step ahead from yesterday.

I am confused about why am I seeing the same dream over and over again. I didn't share this with anyone else. In the beginning, I thought that it was nothing other than a crazy dream, but now I understand that there is a meaning. The alarm disturbed my thoughts again and lazily stretched myself to get down from the bed to hurry for the school.

It's a Friday, the weekend is coming and I feel so much freedom thinking about the weekend. I was planning to go for a day out with my besties Cassia and Jasper. I blushed when thinking about Jasper because I have a secret crush on him. I have known Jasper for the last three years and he is already 18, I am soon turning 18 and I hope to reveal my heart to him on my birthday.

Before the mother's alarm rang from the kitchen I rushed into the bathroom for a wash. I changed my clothes and put on a pair of cotton trousers and a tank top and on top of the tank top, I put on my sweater. The winter is coming soon and it's already the outside was chilling.

I took my backpack and walked downstairs. The aromas of mother's food made my tummy growl.

"Good morning my sweet little daughter. You are on time today, what's the reason behind this?" she showed a little surprise curving her lips and arching her eyebrow.

"Good morning to my beautiful mother and it's Friday, that's why I am so happy today and tomorrow we have planned to go for a day out" I hugged her from behind and rested my chin on her shoulder.

"What are you making Mother?" I saw that she was making pancakes for breakfast, but still I asked.

"Don't you see my child!" She turned the pancake to the other side after turning them into golden color and they were finely cooked.

"Where's the father?" I asked when I didn't see him, but I saw his used plate was still on the small round dining table gesturing that he already finished his breakfast.

"He went to see Alpha to talk about the food supply to us," Mother said keeping the pancake plate on the table.

"Mother, why did the father always want to talk to the Alpha about our issues? Why only father? I mean hundreds are living here and no one was bothering to talk on behalf of the humans" I put a pancake in my dish and took an apple to have with it.

"Someone needs to speak for us, and I am proud that dad taking the initiative, Alpha is not a bad one. We can see and meet him anytime" she smiles gently.

"Alpha means....."

"The newly appointed one, Theron Hardolf, the son of former Alpha Clifton Hardolf" I nodded silently trying to finish my breakfast quickly.

The new Alpha was appointed last week and the reign of his father was over to the Crescent Moon Pride pack. We all participated in the Alpha ceremony and what I heard was that the new Alpha was going to be paired with another pack's Luna. I was not interested in the wolf business so I didn't go to gossip about them.

I finished my breakfast and took my backpack pack giving a goodbye hug to Mother I took my foot cycle to ride towards the school. The school was not too far from our land. I don't know the boundaries of the territory of these lands what I know is the school was the last thing in this land. Acres belonged to our pack and for centuries the humans and the Crescent Moon Pride wolves were living in the same land peacefully. Alpha's first rule for the wolves is to treat the humans peacefully and equally.

But Alpha's second daughter the third of the family who was in my class was not finely treating the humans. Her ego being born into an Alpha family was too much to bear for us. but her twin brother was not like that. He is nice and helpful to everyone. I wonder sometimes how twins born at the same time can have this much of a different character. I rang the bell on the way I met to greet them.

The bicycle ride takes fifteen minutes since I have to get down from the bicycle to climb the mountain on foot. I make sure to wear the helmet and tie my hair into a bun all the time because my hair looks creepy and awkward. As a child, I was not worried about it, but now I have to because my hair looks like the body of a Zebra with white stripes. It's strange to hear I know, but it's my natural hair. I don't know how and why these white partitions came to my hair. In the beginning, it was so uncomfortable for me when others made fun of me, but now I am used to it and now I don't care about it anymore. My eye color is also different from my parents, but my mom says that my great-grandfather's eye color was this.

I reached the school parked my bicycle where the parking lots were reserved for bicycles and walked towards the lockers. The banners of the newly appointed Alpha's were hanged everywhere and they were shaking to the chilling wind of the winter. Alpha is gonna visit today to the school and I can see all the girls have come to the school with full make-up on and wearing short dresses.

How can they wear tiny shorts and skirts in this chilling outside?

"Good morning my sweetheart!" it was Cassia who jumped onto my back.

"Gosh, girl, you scared me" She looked at me from top to bottom and gave me an awkward look.

"What are you wearing?" she asked touching my pants and the jersey.

"Why? I wore this before also. what's the matter?" She huffed a breath of air.

"Don't you see why the school is decorated?"

"The new Alpha is coming to the school today, what's the big deal?" While me and Cassia was walking towards the class when I saw Jasper talking to two boys from another class. My time stopped when I saw Jasper. His smile was breathtaking.

"When are you going to express your feelings towards him?" my thoughts were disturbed by Cassia's whisper closer to my ear. I blushed and smiled lowering my head.

"Soon" I mumbled to myself and the bell rang to start the school.

We were concentrating on our lessons when the principal announced through the PA system that the Alpha was presented in the school. The class started to cloud with whispers and gestures of hearts from girls.

Why are they all lusting towards him? He is our Alpha and we know that his fate was sealed with another Luna. Silly girls! I was mentally feeling sad about their hopes when someone knocked on my back.

I turned to see that it was Hattie! Hattie Hardolf is the second sister of Alpha.

She smiled at me and then she showed me the middle finger. I haven't done anything to her, but she has issues with me. I know that every day she blows the air off my bicycle tires.

"What is wrong with you?"

"Hey Tevena, would you mind sharing why are you bothering to turn back from time to time?" the teacher pointed at me. She is a wolf and the school is mixed with both wolves and humans as are the teachers, but the wolves are getting a little special treatment other than the humans.

"She poked my back and showed her middle finger," I said at once.

"Don't lie! I saw you were in another world and now you put your mistake on someone else's back?"

"Ma'am, I didn't do anything, she is the one..."

"Detention!" She commanded.

"What? What did I do for a detention? She was the one..."

"The Alpha will be dealing with today's detention and you can speak with him!" She declared. I sighed and I was so angry that I got the detention for no reason.

On the other hand, I was glad that I could meet the Alpha face to face, so I could remove the mask of his sister and bring the truth in front of him!

Chapter 02 – The detention girl!

Theron's POV

Today I had to go to the pack school to meet the students and teachers and discuss the issues they are having in the school. Dad used to go to the school twice a month and it was my first day going to the school after I left the school. I studied there, so I know every corner of the school.

Though I could go alone to the school Dad asked me to go with the Zeta werewolves. I called my Beta Remus who was younger than me for just six months to visit the school. The school was decorated by hanging huge banners of me and the Principal was there at the gate to welcome me with a few senior teachers and the school captains.

"Alpha, seeing you in the school is an honor!" The principal welcomes me by offering a large colorful bouquet.

"The honor is mine, Sir, I studied here and now I am gonna visit the school as the new Alpha. I hope you all will support me during my reign" I said with a smile.

I was going from class to class and the female students were more attracted to me. It's not a new thing and I don't believe that it's my fault. I know that I am handsome, but I have kept in mind that I need to deal with females carefully.

I didn't find my mate yet. Since it's late Dad decided that I may be mated less, so he brought a proposal from another pack Alpha's daughter. I have met her a few times when we were schooling and in different functions, but I haven't shown any interest in her. My wolf Conry growled when at the first time we saw her. I had to make him understand that to continue the pack the future of the pack would be in our hands. He had the gut feeling that our mate could be somewhere.

Usually, the wolves find their mate as soon as they turn 18. I am 21 and still, I haven't found my mate. Our pack was blessed to find our mate when they were in trouble, then only we start to hear their cry and smell them. Until they fall into trouble, we don't feel our mate. I don't know how this happened, but this is how our pack has found their mate for centuries.

"Alpha, you have to address the students who got detention today. They will be in their respective classes" the principal said at the end of the tour.

"Do I have to do it? Because I have some other work to do back in the pack" I said.

"Yes Alpha, it's a must. Whenever the day Alpha is present in the school, you need to speak to the students who got detention" The principal said.

"We need to leave the place immediately; the female humans and the she-wolves are attaching too much to us" Conry mind linked me.

"Yes, I know, but as the Alpha, this is our duty Conry and we can't run away from it. It is our responsibility not to cross the line with the females" I made him understand. Conry is a great wolf, he understood his duties as the Alpha the day we got crowned.

The lunch and the evening snack were provided by the school and as soon as the bell rang to end the school I started to speak to the students by visiting their classes one by one. They all got detained due to some misbehavior in the class. I talked to them, encouraged them, and advised them to behave properly in the future. Dealing with male students was easy and fine, but the female students were greedily gazing at me and Conry lightly growled at them to bring them back to the earth.

"Finally, we are in the last class!" I mentally thought with a breath of relief. I was walking towards the class I started to feel that the surroundings were changing. The wind started to blow a little heavily shaking my long overcoat and my body covered with goosebumps. The sunny sky was turning into a cloudy one.

What's happening and why am I having goosebumps? We are wolves, and we have warm bodies. We never feel cold even when we are na*ed and in our human form.

"Do you feel any difference in the surroundings?" Conry mind-linked me.

"Of course, I am feeling it, this is strange!" I replied to his question.

I reached the last class according to the list given by the admin office. Nature was taking a new face as I was reaching the class. The wind started to get rough little by little according to the rhythm of my footsteps. As soon as I stood in front of the class door a thunder hit harder from the sky making me and the girl in the class shake a little.

What are you doing? You are the Alpha. Did you get scared of lightning? I felt ashamed and blamed myself mentally.

She looked at the door and our eyes met. She quickly stood up and lowered her head ignoring my gaze on her.

Another human girl!

Before I walked towards her I looked at her from top to bottom. She was fighting with her fingernails lowering her head.

"Hmm, this one is different" Conry mind linked me.

"What do you mean by that?" Conry felt what I felt in the same way.

"All the women and she-wolves were wearing tiny pieces of clothes and giving us lusty looks, but this one is not. Can you hear her heartbeat?" I heard the slow rhythm of her heartbeat. She does not feel any special in my presence.

I cleared my throat and entered the class. Suddenly a heavy rain started to fall with a rough wind blowing and thundering and lightning started to illuminate the gloomy classroom. She looked at the window but made sure not to look at me.

"So, you are...." I cleared my throat and started the conversation.

"I didn't do anything" Before I continue she speaks. This made me pause for a while and felt a little irritated by her feisty nature. She was still lowering her head and I walked a few feet closer to her.

"You don't get a detention for nothing. Your penalty says...." I folded my arms to my chest and looked at the paper to find her penalty.

"I didn't do anything. Whatever is in the paper, is not true. Alpha, with all due respect, it's because of Hattie I am here" I was a little surprised to hear that.

"Hattie means..."

"Yes, your sister. The twin of Timothy" She replied maintaining her straight voice.

"I told you, she is different. Neither she isn't afraid to us, nor she is luring on us!" Conry mind linked after listening to our conversation.

"I am not clear about what you are saying, girl!" I said raising my head a little.

"My name is Tevena and I am in your sister's class. Every day she blows air off of my bicycle tires and always looks for something to distract me from the class lessons. Today happened the same and when I turned to reply to her, the teacher saw me" She said her name like I did an insult to her by calling her Girl.

"So" I raised an eyebrow and asked.

"I tried my best to explain to the teacher, but...." She scoffed a smile and huffed.

"But, what? Go ahead, I am listening" I kept another two feet closer to her and stood right in front of her. I noticed her hair was different. It had a particular size of white stripes starting from the top of her head.

"Teachers are not listening to human students here. They always give priority to wolves. The former Alpha always said that there should be peace and equality among both parties, but I doubt it" She said.

"You are making a serious accusation girl! Do you know how far this matter could go if this goes out from this classroom?" my tone was a little tough and straight.

"My name is Tevena and I doubt it too Alpha. I told you that because I am so sure that this matter will stay between the two of us and it won't go further, because you are a wolf too!" She said at once curving her lips into a mocking smile and a thunder hit outside making a huge tree fall to the ground, but I was suspicious that her accusation hit a thunder to my ego and my heart.

"Mind your language. You are speaking to your Alpha!" My tone was raised more than the last time.

"Did you notice something Alpha during the detention today? Did you find a single wolf student was being detained?" Her question made me rewind the time. Yes, there were only human students.

"What's your point?" I asked with a cold shoulder and clenched my teeth.

"My point is Alpha, though the school was for both parties and the rules were for both parties, wolves were getting a better treat than the humans. Whatever they do, the rules do not apply to them, but for humans, for us, even though we do nothing, we get the punishment"

"She got an aggressive tongue. I like her!" Conry softly smiles from inside.

"Shut up. Let me deal with her. She is too much" I said strictly to him.

"I can't accept what you are saying, girl! My father never told me something like this. If there is racism, then he should know" Though she gave solid examples for me, I was not ready to accept it.

"Could be the same thing happened with him also" She mockingly smiled looking down. She was so sure not to meet my eyes.

"Mind your language girl!" I lightly growled at her.

"I have told you my name many times, but still you call me girl. If there was a wolf here instead of me you could call them by their name" The topic was leading towards something else. I came here to have a friendly chat with the detained students and this is pissing me off little by little.

"You can't call me by my name and how are you going to listen to what I have to say? Could be same thing happen with your father also. He also had issues in front of him, but he may also ignore them and walk in the dark" She was crossing her limits and my fists clenched and gritted teeth annoyingly.

"That's enough. You are talking to your Alpha, you tiny human. You disrespect your Alpha and his family. You will be punished for this!" I roared and hit on the teacher's desk and it clashed into pieces.

"Aaaahhh" She shut her ears and lowered herself with fear.

"I will not tolerate this. As a punishment, you will be there with me for the entire day tomorrow assisting me during my duties!" I slammed the door behind me and left the classroom leaving her in shock.

Same day at night

I went to sleep with a heavy mind. Her words were still echoing in my ears. I tried my best to forget it and rolled on the bed until I caught some good night's sleep.

"What's the matter? Still thinking about the girl?" Conry mind-linked me.

I didn't reply and soon I fell asleep. I saw that I was on a heavy run and at the end of the run I came to the end of the forest and there it was a peaceful and calm environment with a lake. I knew that I was dreaming. I hardly dream, but this dream was a little blurry. I saw a white light coming towards me, but it was not clear.

"She was watching us!" suddenly I heard a voice which made me wake up with goosebumps on my body!

CHAPTER 03 – Weekend chaos

Tevena's POV

I paddled the bicycle faster I was afraid the chain of it would dislocate at any time. As soon as he left the thundering and heavy shower vanished. It was like he brought the gloomy environment. His words are as dark as his aura. I have seen him since childhood and we attended his Alpha ceremony also, but he never looked at us. Such an arrogant and egoistic person.

I came home passing everyone I met on the way without speaking to them or looking at them. I was shaking in anger. What I was most angry about was he destroyed my weekend plans and I couldn't reject or speak against it.

"You are late Tevena what...." I heard what the mother was saying from the kitchen, but I ignored her and rushed into the room. I was fuming with rage. I threw my school bag threw my shoes in the air and fell on the bed.

How could he punish me like that? I was complaining about the system of the school and he wasn't even ready to listen to it. I started to regret expressing my feelings about how the humans were treated in the school by the wolves. I got detained because of a wolf, and no one was even bothered to see the truth.

My heart was beating fast because of the anger and a lone tear escaped from my eye thinking about how many plans I had for tomorrow. I had planned to spend the day with Jasper, looking at his mesmerizing smile and listening to his deep sexy voice. I have to do something, I can't sit and just obey his crazy punishment. I will talk to Dad and hopefully, he will talk to former Alpha. There's no place for truth in this world. Sometimes I think of running away from this place and seeing the outer world.

The rule was not to cross the territory, because of the danger standing outside. The predators were waiting until a prey crossed the territory border. Mom knocked on the door and I stayed still.

"Tevena, are you, all right? Why were you late from school?" Mom asked sitting on the bed.

"I got a detention mom!" I sat on the bed hugging a pillow.

"What for?" She showed a confused mixed surprise look.

"What should I say, Mom? Every day only human students get the detention, not the wolves" I started the story.

"That's not the answer to what I asked Tevena. I asked why you were detained?"

"I was distracted by Hattie, Alpha's sister and when I was gonna reply to her, the teacher caught me and detained me," I said.

"Why did you go to react on her?" I surprisingly looked at Mom.

"Seriously mom? Is this the way you are reacting to my detention? It was her who did the wrong and I got the punishment." I was irritated that my mom was being unreasonable towards my issue.

"What happened then?" She moved forward with the conversation.

"Today Alpha visited the school, and all the detained students were supposed to meet him. He came to class one by one and we had a little argument" I lowered the voice when I said about the argument.

"What did you say? An argument with the Alpha?" she stood from her place with a shocked wide-open mouth.

"Yes, I told him that this was not fair and wolves and humans are not treated equally in the school and I accused him and the former Alpha of not addressing the issue"

"Are you this much of a fool to argue with Alpha? I don't know what is gonna happen now?" She was walking here and there in the room.

"Nothing Mom, he punished me"

"What? What's the punishment he gave you?" She walked close to me and asked.

"I have to assist him with tomorrow's duties. He ruined my weekend Mom" I yelled in the room.

"Shhhh. You should thank Alpha for not severely punishing you. Tevena, why do you want to fall into trouble every time? We cannot fight with the Alpha family. Don't go to change anything, just say calm for god sake."

"Really Mom? I can't believe that this is you. Hattie was the reason for my detention and.... Forget it, why should I waste my time? No one was ready to listen to me" I stood up from the bed and turned to go to the bathroom for a bath.

"Tevena, listen to me. As soon as the father comes home, you need to tell him exactly what happened in the school today, and tomorrow morning you will go to see the Alpha and his sister and ask for an apology!" Mom pulled from my hand and said pointing her index finger at me.

"Are you joking, mom? Why don't you understand that I didn't do anything? I will talk to Dad, but not an apology for the Alpha. What's the point of living here if we can't speak for what is right and what is wrong" I knew that debating about this matter with her was useless, so I slammed the bathroom door when I still heard her explanations and opened the shower to mute her voice from outside.

I removed my clothes and put them into the washing bin and then the bra and the underwear. After releasing the bra, I felt a little good. I don't like to keep my breasts in the prison of the bra. I was hungry and had a quick bath and changed my clothes into a comfortable sweater and a pair of jogging pants. I don't mind about the fashion, I do care about my comfort.

The night came and I spilled what happened in the school day to Dad during dinner time. Dad is calm, not like mom. Mom was getting panicky and irritated by things easily, but Dad was not like that. He listened to me calmly and promised to take me to the Alpha's home tomorrow. Before I went to sleep, I sent a message to both Jasper and Cassia about what happened and that we needed to cancel the program for tomorrow.

Next day morning

"Dad, one thing, I won't make an apology for the Alpha nor to his brat sister" I determined from home.

"That's all right my sweetheart, but promise me that you won't go further argument with the Alpha or anyone there. You just spend the day helping Alpha and then come home safely in the evening" Dad said in a calm tone while walking towards Alpha's home.

It was located in the middle of the territory which everyone could reach at the same time. It was the biggest building in the territory other than the school. I have never gone there except one time with Dad when I was younger. No one was allowed to visit the Alpha house except without proper permission or time reservation with the Alpha. The tall white building was standing tall alone in the middle of a greeny garden.

"Stop" A warrior wolf stopped me and dad blocking our path.

"We are here to see the Alpha" Dad said humbly.

"Do you have any appointment?" He asked.

"We..."

"Let them come. They are here for me" I heard his deep voice inside the mansion and I covered myself with Dad's figure.

Was he waiting to punish me?

"Alpha. I beg your pardon if we are wasting your time, but my daughter...."

"What happened to her? She speaks very well. Why can't she speak for herself? Yesterday she had a feisty mouth" He was waiting to taunt me in every minute he gets. This is the gift I get from speaking the truth.

"Alpha, I know you are angry with her. Please ignore her silly talks and forgive her. On behalf of her, I beg your pardon!" Dad suddenly bowed to him and I didn't expect this.

"You don't need to ask for an apology. You may leave now, but she needs to stay!" I was lowering my head.

"I thought...."

"You heard me, you may leave now and she will stay with me as a punishment for being disrespectful to the Alpha" Before Dad say anything he cut in the middle and said. I only saw his shoes; the shoes were polished like a mirror. There was not a single dust to be seen.

"Alpha, please be easy on her. She does mindless things sometimes" Dad was lowering my dignity which I don't like.

"Behave well" Dad patted my shoulder and I heard him leaving the mansion. I gulp feeling the awkward silence.

"Are you gonna stay there for the entire day or shall we start?" I didn't know what to say I just nodded.

"What happened to the brave girl who talked unstoppably yesterday? Did you leave your mouth at home or are you scared that you are not in your safe zone?" He was trying to push my buttons, but I kept in my mind not to reply to anything. I want to finish this today, not to drag and see him every day.

"Very well, I don't have the entire day to stay with you. Come with me!" I saw his shoes turned to the other side and I started to walk behind him.

He was walking so fast that sometimes I had to run a little to catch his speed. He was walking through a hallway where the walls were hung with different large pictures and the dim lights were illuminated. As far as I saw most of the interiors were white.

But his heart is dark! I mentally cursed him while walking behind. At the end of the hallway, he turned left to a large wooden door took the keys out from his overcoat pocket, and opened it.

It was a huge library!

He entered first and then I entered after him.

"Listen" He turned quickly while I was looking around the tall cupboard with an awe feeling. I didn't know that my mouth was wide open and I was so lost among the books that I didn't hear him.

"Shut your mouth girl!" When he spoke with the word girl, it was irritating me.

"I have a name, Tevena," I said lowering my head. Why I lowered my head because I didn't want to see his rude face.

"Show some respect to your Alpha!" I heard him saying with his gritted teeth.

"What I learned was, that you give respect to others and then expect respect from others!" He was silent and I was expecting another growl from him, but he surprised me.

"Tevena. Am I correct?" when I heard my name in his mouth, I didn't know what happened to me. It was like a tiny thundering shower started and all the sparks gave my nervous system to raise my head and look at him.

It happened! I can't explain it. His dark brown eyes were looking at me sharply. My breath got hitched in my throat and my lips parted slightly making me numb and dumb at the same time. My words were frozen, though my mind wanted to speak, but physically my mouth was not ready.

"Tevena. Is that your name?" He repeated my name making my body shake with his deep voice. I couldn't take my eyes off him. I just nodded without knowing why am I nodding. His eyes and my eyes were locked for a few seconds.

He was wearing a long overcoat up to his knees and beneath that a high-neck black T-shirt. His curly shoulder-length black hair was tied into a ponytail and looking at me without blinking.

Wake up Tevena. He is the Alpha! Finally, my brain brought me back to my senses and I shook my head.

"Do you see these messy racks?" He turned and pointed towards the dusty and messy racks.

"Yes," I said.

"You need to clean them within the day and arrange the books accordingly!"
