Love Takes Possession Of My Heart

Author: : Jun Wen
Genre: Romance
For the nearly five years they had been married, Cory had never stayed in their house long. He would come back once a month and ruthlessly pull Susanna into bed as if it was nothing more than routine and what was his to take! She had spent their entire marriage trying to please him and doing her best to be a good wife. And yet, he would still rather enjoy the company of photos and posters of another woman pasted all over the room. Eventually, her hopes were shattered and her stupidity stopped getting the best of her and she signed the divorce agreement. It was only once she had left that he realized he'd lost a piece of his heart when he lost her.

Chapter 1 Let My Family Go!

The villa itself was empty, but the big bedroom was occupied by a strange scene.

Susanna Su was lying on the bed in a crumpled heap. The pain of tearing had made her clench the sheets tightly with her hands, and her teeth had already bitten through her lips countless times, drawing out blood. The man's invasions on her body was like a storm, while she felt like she was just a lost boat at sea. She had lost control and could only drift with the tide.

Another storm came, and this time, it hit her head hard on the bedside.

Tears welled up in her eyes as the pain and grievance took over her system.

Cory Song's aura suddenly became even more insidious. Grabbing her throat with one hand, he forced her to get up and looked at her coldly. "You first asked someone to bully Felice, and then finally forced her to leave with the money. Even after she promised you to leave, you shamelessly climbed into my bed and let her see it. You were desperate and evil! You did all that just to force me to have sex with you, didn't you? Now that you have succeeded, why are you crying?"

Susanna Su felt like a knife was stabbed into her heart. The pain and sorrow were overwhelming and she could hardly breathe.

When Cory Song had proposed to her, she was already aware of the fact that he married her just for revenge, not for love. He hated her for forcing Felice Ling away. At the same time, she had naively believed that if she stayed by his side for long enough, the misunderstanding between them would be solved and he would see her as a good person some day!

Tears kept falling down her cheeks. "No. I didn't...... No..."

However, her words just echoed through his ears, and then turned into sobs.

They had been married for nearly five years now, and their son was almost four years old. However, the man never stayed in this house. He only came back once a month, and ruthlessly pulled her into bed, as if it was nothing more than a routine!

Finally, the invasion ended.

Cory Song was already putting on his clothes. He had a well-tailored handmade suit, which seemed incomparably expensive, especially on his physique. The carved profile of his face was facing Susanna Su, who herself was still curled up on the bed.

After buttoning up his shirt, he turned around and threw an invitation card in front of her. "You can go to the company party tonight."

Susanna Su took the invitation card and opened it suspiciously. Looking at the few words that were printed on it, she felt like a bolt from the blue had struck her head. Her body became weak once more and she knelt down on the bed.

She wanted to ask Cory Song something, but he had already left after throwing her the invitation card. She tightly grabbed it in her hand, with bean-sized tears rolling down her cheeks. She bit her lips and then raised her hand to dry it subconsciously.

Then she opened the exquisite invitation card once more. "Celebration dinner for the Song Group's centennial celebration, and its successful acquisition of the Su Group." The big golden words at the top of the card seemed to be mocking her, and the invitation card was suddenly squeezed into a little ball.

Forgetting about even her dress, she opened the bedroom door with bare feet and chased Cory Song out. She chased him all the way to the yard, only to see the exhaust gas of his car.

At that moment, Susanna Su felt that her whole body had gone completely soft and limp. If Bader hadn't arrived to help her in time, she might have fallen down.

It was her fault. She had been in love with Cory Song for so many years now. And she had never even considered the possibility that even after she married the man and brought half of the Su Family's property with her, he would still be indifferent towards her. She had even given birth to a son after that, and the poor boy had developed autism because of his indifference.

What she had never even imagined was that Cory Song would be so cruel that he wouldn't even let her family go! At that moment, she suddenly felt like she didn't even know what she had been insistent on for the past several years.

She calmed herself down and hurriedly dialed the Su mansion's number, but no one answered. She kept calling her foster parents again and again, but the phone just kept ringing.

A bad feeling rose in her heart. She hurriedly asked Bader to pick up her son Jarred Song, and then went straight to the Su mansion.

However, the giant Su mansion was dark and not a trace of life could be seen there. They all must have left or didn't want to be disturbed.

Susanna Su's heart sank inch by inch.

"Madam, where are we going now?" The driver's question brought her back to reality.

"BJ Hotel!" Susanna Su had thought about the name and the place countless times, but she had never even dared to think about going there. This night, she had to go there!

The BJ Hotel was the most luxurious seven star hotel in the entire city.

Once inside, Susanna Su came to a halt outside a presidential suite, and then took a deep breath.

They had been married for five years, and most of the time, Cory Song had lived in this suite. She had been holding out all the time, hoping against hope that one day he would find finally see her good intentions.

However, all her hopes and stupidity had been finally shattered today!

The door of the suite was not closed. She pushed it open and walked in directly. At the sight of her, Cory Song, who was dealing with some documents on the sofa with a laptop in his arms, frowned and barked, "Who gave you the right to come in here without asking?"

Looking up at the countless pictures and posters of Felice Ling hanging in the room, Susanna Su felt a sharp pang of pain in her heart.

The man really loved Felice Ling!

Over the entire course of their marriage, she had spent all her time trying to please him and tried her best to be a good wife. However, he would rather accompany the photos and posters of Felice Ling all over the room than spend any time with her.

Susanna Su felt like her heart had fallen into an ice cellar. More than that, a feeling of despair and humiliation spread all over her body. She tightly grabbed the invitation card in her hand and looked at the man coldly.

Noticing her action, Cory's gaze wandered towards her hand subconsciously. The invitation card carefully made by the design department had been crumpled into a ball.

His thin lips curved into a cold arc. "What? Miss Susanna can't wait to celebrate my successful acquisition of the Su Group with me?"

Hearing that, the string of tension that was pulling on Susanna's nerves was completely broken down. Somehow, she found the courage to rush over and slap Cory on the face. "Cory, you are a monster!"

He grabbed her hand and pressed her against the wall. The smile at the corners of his mouth became colder. "You think I'm a monster? Compared to what you did to Felice just to get to marry me, I'm nothing!"

"Why do you have to do this to me, Cory? What good did it do? I told you that I didn't force Felice to leave. I never did any of that. I didn't ask anyone to bully Felice. I don't even know why I was in your bed! Why can't you just believe me?"

Susanna's heart was filled with despair. She had wanted to know why Cory had destroyed the Su Group, but now she didn't need to ask. She knew the answer. Everything he had ever done had been because he hated her.

Raising her head to look at Cory, Susanna asked, "What on earth do you want me to do? Tell me and I'll do it. Just let go of my family!"

A cruel smile appeared on the corner of his mouth. "If you want me to let go of the Su Family, there is only one way to ensure that. You'll have to die!"

When she heard those words, Susanna couldn't help but tremble. Two lines of tears rolled down her cheeks once again, and she bit her lips hard. If she really could save the Su Family by dying, she was willing to do that!

However, she didn't want to part with her child. He was so young and sick. What would Jarred Song do if he lost her?

The mockery in Cory's eyes widened. "You are such a cold-blooded person. Why are you pretending to be so self-righteous?"

In a panic, Susanna tried to hold back her tears, quickly found a fruit knife on the tea table, and rushed over without hesitation. She picked up the knife and pointed it at her snow-white neck. After swallowing, she told him in a choking voice, "Fine, I'll die. Let the Su Family go!"

Chapter 2 I Raised A Viper

The cold and sharp edge of the knife pierced slowly into her neck, and a stream of bright red blood flowed out, warm against the sizzling cold of steel touching her skin. Susanna closed her eyes. Inside, they were full of the obedient and sensible little face that Jarred had been blessed with.

She knew that no matter how much Cory disliked Jarred, the boy would still be safe. He was the only child of the Song Family. Even without her, his grandparents would treat him well.

Cory's heart stopped beating at that moment. He could see the fast trickle of blood. Biting her lips, Susanna made up her mind and began to exert more strength on the knife!

But Cory seemed to suddenly come to his senses at that moment. He grabbed the knife from her hand and threw it aside. His dark eyes were staring at her with anger and fierceness. He hadn't gone softhearted. This was more maliciousness. "Susanna, you were too cruel to Felice for you to die this easily! I am not going to let you get away like this. This is too simple. No. I will torture you slowly every day and make your life a living hell! "

Susanna raised her head and looked at him stubbornly, trying to hold back her tears. Her eyes were desperate. She didn't know what to do.

At that moment, her phone suddenly rang. The name on the screen surprised her and she answered it in a hurry, "Dad!"

Her voice began to choke and her sobbing began once again. She somehow managed to croak, "Okay, okay. I'm coming to the hospital right now. I'll be there as soon as possible!" Whatever the news was, it made Susanna lose all senses. She immediately stumbled out the door without paying attention to anything.

When she reached the door, she tripped over the edge of the carpet and fell down. Her head hit the wall and it sounded painful.

Subconsciously, Cory got up to help her up, but before he could even get close to her, she was already up and about to rush outside. Although the wound on her neck was not deep, it was not shallow either. Blood kept on flowing from it, but she did not notice it at all. She was way too worried.

Seeing her figure disappear from his sight, Cory pulled at his collar irritably and undid the top two buttons.

He then leaned back in his chair and started to deal with business matters once again. However, he couldn't help keep thinking of Susanna's pale face, desperate eyes, and her bleeding snow-white neck.

A few years ago, there had been a major accident in a project, which had been worked on by both Abbas Su, and Cory's father. Several people had died. Although Abbas Su was the one who had been responsible for the safety standards, he had managed to guide public opinion and fed them a tale saying that Cory's father was responsible. Faced with public anger and backlash, the latter had been forced to commit suicide.

The reason why Cory had taken back the Su Group just now was a punishment for Abbas Su! Susanna had not been innocent when she had treated Felice so poorly, and he felt inexplicably irritable!

Maybe it was because when the Song Family had been in the most difficult of their times, it was Abbas Su who had asked Susanna to marry the Song Family. With her, she had brought half of the Su Family's property, which had allowed the Song Group make it through!

"Damn it!" Cory snapped the lid of the laptop shut, stood up and strode out of the room with a furious pace!

Susanna got in her car and drove straight to the hospital.

When she arrived there, her adoptive father was already in the emergency room. Her foster mother, Mandy Chen, was waiting in the corridor, alone and anxious.

Seeing Susanna, Mandy Chen rushed towards her instantly and slapped her in the face. "What are you doing here? Don't you think you have hurt the Su Family enough? You want to kill every single member of our family, just so you can be reconciled, right? Get out!"

Mandy Chen roared madly at her. Her anger was beyond her control and she couldn't stop trembling. The fury even brought tears that flowed down her cheeks.

It had been just a few days since the video call. Mandy Chen had been remarkably well maintained in it. But right now, her face was full of wrinkles, and her hair was messy. She no longer looked as elegant as before and one could have sworn she and the person in the video were no the same.

"Mom, I..." Susanna tried to explain, but Mandy Chen cried and roared once more, "Go away!"

Seeing the hysterical look on her foster mother's face, Susanna felt like her heart had been rent apart into a million tiny pieces.

At that moment, the door of the operating room was pushed open and a team of doctors walked out. Susanna and Mandy Chen rushed over.

The doctor looked at them and took off his mask wearily. He shook his head and told them in a soft and apologetic voice, "I'm sorry, ma'am. We've tried our best but..."

"No...... That's impossible. Abbas has always been in good health. Doctor, please, please, save him! He won't leave like this. He can't..." Mandy Chen held the doctor's arm and began shaking it continuously, as if she were in a trance.

"Mom..." Susanna came up and tried to hold her.

Mandy Chen turned around and stared at her with a pair of scarlet eyes. Before she could say anything, the doctor told them, "Mr. Su still has some time left. He wants to say goodbye to you. You can go in!"

Subconsciously, Susanna wanted to rush in, but Mandy Chen pushed her away.

Staggering due to the force, Susanna almost fell to the ground. She raised her head and saw Mandy shout at her in disgust and despair, "Get out!"

Seeing her enter the operating room, Susanna couldn't move at all.

A soft 'hmm' came from behind her. She turned around mechanically. When she saw the cold, tall, and thin figure standing behind her, her eyes turned sour. But there were no tears. Instead, a stiff sneer appeared at the corners of her mouth. "Cory, are you satisfied now?"

The man's face was still as cold as ever. His dark eyes reflected the tottering body standing in front of him, and the dried blood on her snow-white neck. His heart ached for no reason. Such a fragile girl. Her fragility made him want to hold her in his arms.

But the thought only lasted for a moment. There was no need for him to be softhearted. If this woman hadn't driven Felice away so viciously and climbed into his bed to get pregnant, he wouldn't have had such a disgusting marriage.

Thinking about that, a cruel smile appeared on Cory's face. "I'm very satisfied. I'll be even more satisfied very soon!"

Then he strode away.

Susanna felt like the last bit of her strength had been sucked out of her and then she fell to the ground.

At that time, Mandy dragged her body out of the operating room step by step, as if she had lost her soul. She looked down blankly at the girl lying on the ground and waved her hand with quite a lot of difficulty. "Go in!"

As if Susanna had gotten an amnesty, she rushed in at once.

Inside, on the operating table, among a jungle of various kinds of tubes laid over his body, Abbas Su was lying down helplessly, as thin as a piece of wood.

Susanna couldn't help but kneel down in front of the operating table and burst into tears. "Dad!"

Abbas raised his hand with as much strength as he could muster and held her hand lovingly. "Susanna, don't cry!"

Hearing his weak voice calling out her name, Susanna wiped her tears with the back of her hand, but she couldn't stop crying.

With much difficulty, Abbas raised his hand and reached out a thin thumb to wipe away a drop of tear from her cheek. "Susanna, I'm dying. Your mother has never seen much in the way of life. She doesn't know the world like you do, and she won't be able to deal with the world. Your brother is too young to do that as well. The family relies on you for its future..."

As Abbas Su spoke, he was already out of breath. Wiping her tears, Susanna shook her head crazily. "Dad, it won't happen. You're going to be fine. I'll go ask the doctors now. I'll ask them to do whatever is necessary. They will definitely cure you."

Susanna almost lost her mind and was about to go out to call the doctors, but she was stopped by Abbas Su gently. "Susanna, you silly girl. Everyone has to die one day. I'm just worried about your mother and brother. It's so lucky I got to see you grow up. From now on, you'll have to support the family for me..."

Chapter 3 She Has No Home

Susanna bit her lips. Tears were rolling down her face but she never felt them. Subconsciously, she shook her head. All she could do right now was watch helplessly, hopelessly, as Abbas' aura became weaker and weaker.

"Susanna, promise me!" The man heaved his last words with extreme difficulty.

Susanna nodded in a hurry. "Yes Dad, I promise you. I promise everything. But please don't leave your Susanna alone. Dad... DAD!"

Her heart-wrenching scream spread throughout the whole operating room, as Abbas's hand, which was resting weakly on Susanna's, finally fell down, cold and lifeless.

Hearing her voice, Mandy rushed in and pushed away Susanna to look at Abbas. She threw herself on Abbas and almost passed out crying.

When she was pushed away by Mandy in a hurry, Susanna didn't even have the sense to pick herself up and collapsed on the ground. Her eyes were already red and swollen from her tears. Lying down in a heap, she kept on biting her lips and crying silently, as tears fell down her face like broken beads.

Mandy was unable to contain herself and stopped responding. It was not until the doctor came in with a nurse, gave her an injection and sent her to the ward that things began to recover bit by bit.

The doctor turned towards Susanna and said in a benevolent voice, "Miss Su, I'm so sorry for your loss."

Susanna wiped her tears and forced a smile. "Thank you, doctor. That's okay. I'm fine."

She couldn't lose herself, not now. She had promised her father that she would protect the family for him, and she also had a child of her own. For her mother, her brother and for Jarred, she couldn't allow herself to be lost.

Despite her immense resolve, seeing her father's corpse being pushed into the morgue, made her struggle once again to maintain control. It was going to be hard to take care of things without her father. Firstly, she had to inform her relatives. She called her aunt in the Su mansion and asked her to take good care of her brother, Keith Su. Then she called Bader, enquiring about how Jarred was doing, and also asked for him to be sent to the kindergarten.

By that time, it was already dawn.

She dragged her tired body into Mandy's ward.

"Mom..." Mandy had woken up now. As soon as Susanna walked in and called her, she suddenly sat up and slapped Susanna on the face the first chance she got. "Get out!"

Her little pale face became red and her cheek swelled up. However, Susanna didn't feel any pain, because the pain of that slap was nothing compared to that in her heart.

Mandy continued her assault. Pointing a trembling finger at her, she said, "Twenty years. We have been raising you, and taking care of you for twenty years, and this is what we get in response. Our entire family is done for because of you. How was blind enough to adopt a viper like you?"

Susanna lowered her head, unable to utter any words, not even a "sorry".

It was her fault. The Su Family had treated her wholeheartedly, but she had caused them much pain and misery. It was all her fault.

Perhaps her misery caused Mandy to feel a pang of pain in her heart. After all, she had been raising Susanna for twenty years. She said in a slightly lower voice this time, "You can leave now. I don't want to see you ever again. Any relationship you had with the Su Family ends right now."

Almost instinctively, Susanna knelt down in front of Mandy and begged her, "Mom, I'm so sorry. It's all my fault. You can beat me or scold me. But please don't abandon me!"

Mandy had felt a slight pang of pity but she became even angrier when she saw Susanna's expressions now. "Get out of here. Abbas is gone. The Su Family is gone. What else do you want?"

As Mandy spoke, she pushed Susanna far away from her. She was so angry that she didn't know the strength of her hands at all. Susanna was thrown directly at the wall, and her skull cracked open. The wound on her neck also burst open and blood began to flow down along the curves of her body, soaking her clothes in a deep shade of crimson.

Susanna felt dizzy. Even though she tried her best not to faint, but she couldn't help falling down and blacking out.

Mandy had lived under the care of Abbas all her life and had never experienced anything violent. Seeing this scene shook her. She was frightened and stunned, gazing at her trembling hands with a stunned look and at a loss for what to do.

Luckily, Cory came in at that moment and all he saw was a bright red splotch of blood on the snow-white wall, and the little woman lying on beneath it at her last gasp. He felt suffocated at the sight.

Without hesitation, he picked up the woman in his arms and rushed out of the ward to look for the doctor.

Susanna felt cold in his arms, and her body felt so light. It was as if she had no weight at all. He felt like she would leave him any time even as he held her and the though pressed down on his chest.

Luckily though, the impact was not serious, and the wound on her neck was not deep either. Susanna had merely fainted because she was already too tired to make any effort.

Once the doctor had bandaged and dressed her wound, Cory carried her directly back to the villa.

As soon as Bader saw Cory, she came up to him and began making a fuss. "Sir, you're finally back. The young master hasn't seen his mother yet and he refused to go to the kindergarten without doing so first. Nothing I did could persuade him...

What's wrong with madam?" Bader finished her words in a single breath, and then uttered in shock upon seeing that that Cory was still holding Susanna in his arms.

Jarred, who was playing with a toy plane on the sofa and immersed in his own world, looked up as soon as he heard their conversation.

Seeing Cory, he shrank his neck instinctively. He then saw his mother in the man's arms. After hesitating for a while, he climbed down the sofa, straightened his chest, clenched his fists, and ran towards them as fast as his short legs could carry him. He looked up at Cory and said one word, "Mom..."

Cory frowned and carried Susanna upstairs, ignoring Jarred.

Jarred followed him instinctively.

Inside the bedroom, seeing that Cory had laid Susanna down on the bed, Jarred immediately moved his stool and sat down near the edge of the bed. He took one of Susanna's fingers into his little hand.

Cory took a look at the mother and son, and a strange light flashed through his dark eyes. He then walked out of the bedroom directly.

Bader was also standing near the bedroom door. As Cory walked out, she cautiously asked, "Will the young master go to kindergarten today?"

"No. Ask them to grant him a day's leave!" After leaving this small instruction, Cory left away.

When he finally walked out of the villa, Cory was so annoyed that he slapped the steering wheel in his car with an exasperated look on his face. He had planned on going to the hospital to inform Susanna that the villa which the Su Family was living in at the moment was now his property. He was going to take it back and intended to ask her to find alternative lodgings for the Su Family as soon as possible. But when he had seen Susanna lying down so hopelessly in the hospital, he couldn't help it and had taken her to the doctor, and then taken her back home.

Back at the villa, when Susanna woke up, it was already afternoon. As soon as she felt awake, she sat up reflexively.

Jarred had been sitting by her side this whole time. He was startled, but he held her hand firmly. "Mom, don't be afraid!"

Hearing his voice, Susanna turned her head and saw her son's white and tender face and his big, bright eyes staring at her. She couldn't help smiling at this sight. She held him closer in her arms and told him, "Jarred, my boy. I'm not afraid of anything as long as you are here!"
