The War God's Tribulation
The War God had to endure ten lifetimes of reincarnation.
In each lifetime, it was always with me.
He was on good terms with the Fate Immortal and reincarnated with his memories intact.
But I, in every lifetime, died at his hands, enduring the agony of a cursed love.
In the final lifetime, he slaughtered my entire family, saving me for last.
Though there was guilt in his eyes, his words were chilling to the bone:
"Mortals are just pawns in our trials. You should feel honored to be chosen by me."
Later, my soul drifted to the Nine Realms, where I encountered a man in black robes.
He was sealed by an enchanted sword. When he saw me, his eyes lit up:
"If you can pull it out, I can help you be reborn and seek revenge."
I grasped the hilt, saying icily:
"I don't want to be reborn. I want him to perish in this lifetime!"
The Sealed Demon
The sealed demon was named Kellan.
The sword embedded in his body was incredibly difficult to pull out.
He told me that only someone who died with resentment and was filled with obsession, like me, could draw the sword.
He waited a thousand years and finally found me.
The moment my hand touched the hilt, the icy aura of the sword felt like it was tearing me apart.
But I held the sword tightly, not backing down at all.
Kellan's face was covered in terrifying runes, making his features unclear. Only a pair of dark phoenix eyes could be seen:
"Yes, just like that, use more strength!"
I pressed my lips together, recalling the tragic deaths I've suffered over ten lifetimes. I didn't know where the strength came from, but I managed to pull the sword out a little.
This sword had sealed Kellan for a thousand years.
As the blade moved slightly, black demonic energy began to flow from Kellan's body.
The demonic energy flowed out like a mortal's blood, but he showed no pain. Instead, he spoke with satisfaction:
"Natalie, is that all the hatred you have?"
"It seems you still have feelings for Matthew."
I knew he was trying to provoke me, but I still furrowed my brows and darkened my expression:
"Don't mention him to me!"
With a loud shout, the sword was finally pulled out from Kellan's body with a sharp 'screech'!
At that moment, the world changed drastically.
Dark clouds gathered above our heads, and thunder and lightning struck down.
Kellan's chest continued to emit demonic energy, but with the sword removed, his seal was broken, and his previously unclear face was revealed.
He was even more strikingly handsome than Matthew.
His features were exquisite, his complexion fair, and his dark eyes sparkled with brilliance.
However, I had no time to appreciate these.
The lightning from the sky was about to hit me!
I dropped the sword and tried to fly away.
Unexpectedly, Kellan suddenly pulled me into his embrace.
"Do you want to know how to deal with these gods?"
He looked down at me, casually flicking his middle finger towards the sky.
A burst of blue light suddenly appeared.
The thunder and dark clouds in the sky instantly dissipated with his gesture.
A gentle breeze from the Nine Realms lifted his hair as he curled his lips and spoke in a deep voice:
"Only strength is the ultimate truth."
"Stay with me, and I'll lead you to the Nine Heavens to slay Matthew."
Originally, I was not qualified to draw that sword.
But when Matthew completed his trial of love and believed I was doomed to die, he mercifully restored my memories.
It turned out he was an immortal from the heavens, and being with me was merely a part of his trial.
For ten lifetimes, every time I loved him the most, he killed me.
In this lifetime, even my family did not escape.
He killed my parents and my sister right in front of me.
In the end, that sharp Skyrend Lance was pressed to my chest.
As the sharp divine weapon pierced my body, I hadn't even had the chance to tell him that I was pregnant with his child.
His white robes were stained with the blood of my entire family, like crimson blossoms in the snow.
With a hoarse voice, I barely opened my mouth, and blood spurted:
"Why... why?"
"Natalie, don't hate me. This is your fate."
Matthew flicked his fingers, and a beam of white light entered my forehead.
All the memories of ten lifetimes flooded into my mind.
His eyes were dark and deep, and if one looked closely, a trace of guilt could be seen.
But I was in too much pain, my eyes blurred with tears, and I couldn't see anything clearly.
His voice was cold, colder than the lance that pierced my chest:
"A mere mortal like you should feel honored to aid in my trial of love."
With that, he mercilessly withdrew the Skyrend Lance.
Blood spurted, and once again, I died at the moment I loved him the most.
But as he turned away, a single clear tear fell onto my chest.
The trial of love is not something everyone can pass.
Even Matthew, moved by emotion, shed a single tear.
No one would have thought that because of this heart-wrenching divine tear, my soul managed to evade the pursuit of the underworld messengers.
Thus, harboring such deep hatred, with the hatred of ten lifetimes, my obsession grew deeper and I wandered to the Nine Realms.
There, I met the sealed Kellan.
When our eyes met, his previously dim gaze instantly brightened.
"Do you wish to kill a god?"
Chapter 3
Kellan and I lingered in the Nine Realms for a while longer.
He reconstructed my physical body.
Initially, he mentioned assisting me in reincarnation and defying fate.
However, I did not wish to start anew. I desired to personally end Matthew's life in this lifetime.
The Immortal Aura of the Nine Realms nurtured me, and Kellan awakened my demonic consciousness. I became the lowest rank demon.
He inquired, "Becoming a demon, scorned by society, are you willing?"
I opened my eyes. The divine sword lay beside me. I grasped it, and the blade hummed.
As the lowest rank demon, I was unworthy of wielding this divine sword. Yet, due to my profound obsession, the divine sword still acknowledged me as its master.
I stated coldly, "What difference does it make, demon or god?"
"Everyone aspires to be a god, but gods regard us as mere ants, insignificant beings."
I gazed up at the sky. "I want to see what gives those gods in the Nine Heavens their arrogance."
Kellan's eyes were pure black, bottomless, and carried an intense gravitational pull.
"Natalie, gods are naturally arrogant."
With a wave of his sleeve, the scene rewound, transforming into a battle between Kellan and Matthew.
"A thousand years ago, just because I was a demon, he sought to kill me."
"Regrettably, his skills were inferior, resorting to treacherous tactics."
Before us, Matthew was thoroughly subdued by Kellan. Even the Skyrend Lance was bent, and he was on the brink of death.
At a critical juncture, a woman in white suddenly emerged, thrusting her sword at Kellan.
The sword emitted a white glow, unmistakably the same divine sword I held.
Kellan was besieged by the two of them, falling into a disadvantage. Ultimately, Matthew sealed him, driving the sword into his chest.
"Unfortunately, even employing such despicable means, they could not kill me, only seal me."
Kellan waved his sleeve once more, and the three figures vanished, reality returning.
He spoke slowly, "That divine sword is called Falling Moon, a sword of the Demon Realm."
"The woman wielding the sword is Rebecca, Matthew's lover in the Divine Realm."
He chuckled softly, the sound resonating from his chest.
"She considers herself noble, looks down on the Demon Realm, yet she stole its sword and claimed it as her own."
"The Falling Moon sword can only be used by someone with deep resentment. All these years, the divine sword has never recognized a master."
He touched my hair. "It seems you are the chosen one."
I raised an eyebrow, caressing the blade of Falling Moon, growing increasingly fond of it.
"In that case, I must train hard to be worthy of this divine sword."
