Chapter 1 Had Sex With My Husband Right After Filing For Divorce

"Trending News: Brayan Rogers Spotted with a Supermodel at Night?"

In a lively private room, Thalia Palmer's colleagues were enjoying their drinks, while she sat isolated in the corner, fixated on the trending news on her phone.

She was fed up. It felt like the umpteenth time she had stumbled upon a scandal involving Brayan.

Just then, a colleague approached Thalia to offer a toast. Catching a glimpse of the news on Thalia's phone, she leaned in, her curiosity piqued, and started to gossip. "Despite Brayan Rogers, CEO of the Rogers Group, being both handsome and wealthy, he's known for his playboy antics. He's been caught up in numerous juicy stories."

Another colleague chimed in, "I've heard rumors he's married, but his wife remains a mystery to everyone. It's unclear if the rumors are true."

As the gossip unfolded, Thalia's grip on her phone tightened. She checked her email once more, only to find no response to the divorce papers she had sent Brayan's way.

Her mood plummeted even further.

Little did anyone know, she was the mysterious wife of Brayan.

Thalia, an orphan raised by Alfonso Faust, had once saved Brayan's grandmother by chance, leading to their marriage.

Given that Alfonso and Brayan's grandmother were good friends, Thalia accepted the arrangement, hoping for a peaceful life together.

However, Brayan's detachment was evident from the beginning. He couldn't even muster the effort to go through the formalities of their marriage in person.

Despite Thalia's attempts to close the distance between them, Brayan remained distant, never answering her calls or showing any interest in their relationship.

To make matters worse, Brayan's life was continuously marred by scandals, none of which he ever tried to protect his wife from.

Feeling ignored, Thalia gradually stopped trying to connect with him until she felt it was pointless to continue.

Deciding to stop pretending, she chose freedom instead of staying in a loveless marriage.

At that moment, she was offered another glass of wine, bringing her back to the present. Thalia looked up at the person offering it.

Her coworker, Ablett Gray, smiled at her. "Thalia, everyone's having a drink. Why not join us?"

Thalia looked around at the lively scene and found it hard to say no. She reluctantly accepted Ablett's wine and drank it in one gulp.

But soon, she felt something was off. She started feeling hot, dizzy, and it was hard to breathe.

"I can't drink anymore..."

Thalia tried to cope with her discomfort and thought about leaving early, but Ablett approached her with a look of concern. "Thalia, let me help you to a room to get some rest."

While saying this, he put his hand on Thalia's shoulder.

She tried to push him away, but feeling weak, she found herself being forcefully taken to a room by Ablett. As soon as they entered, he started to make unwanted advances.

Thalia resisted with all her might and then realized there was something wrong with the wine Ablett had given her.

"Fuck off!" She tried to escape.

Ablett approached her with an obscene grin. "Thalia, you can't imagine how much I like you. Don't worry, I'll take care of everything."

Thalia fought back harder, but Ablett was determined to have his way. He pinned her down on the bed.

"Help! Someone, please help me!" Thalia's screams were desperate, and in her panic, she reached for the table lamp on the bedside table, grabbed it, and swung it hard at Ablett's head.

With a loud thud, he was knocked unconscious and collapsed onto the bed.

Terrified, Thalia didn't stop to think. She ran out, tripping over her own feet in the corridor as she sought help.

Then, suddenly, a door nearby swung open, and a firm, warm hand wrapped around her wrist.

Before she could understand what was happening, Thalia was pulled into the dark, opulent room.

"Ah!" Caught off guard, Thalia screamed, her survival instincts kicking in as she struggled to break free. But it was no use. The man picked her up with ease, and before she knew it, she was on the bed.

"Help me, and I promise to make it up to you," the man said in a deep voice, leaning over her.

Thalia could feel warmth radiating from him, an obvious sign he was under the influence of something strong.

She tried to push him away, managing to say, "I... Let me help you..."

Her attempt to suggest medical attention was interrupted as he took her words the wrong way. Letting go of all caution, he silenced her objections with a kiss, leaving her voice lost under his.

As daylight broke, Thalia woke up with her head pounding, memories of the previous night coming back to her as she noticed the man's breathing nearby.

She hugged herself, sitting up to face what had happened.

The surprise hit her hard when she saw his face clearly.

Even in sleep, his looks were remarkable, but recognizing him brought a shock.

"What? How could this be?"

It was Brayan. The same man she had sent the divorce papers to just the night before.

Chapter 2 The New CEO

Thalia found herself in a bewildering moment. The situation was dripping with irony; she had just started the process of getting a divorce, only to end up getting closer than ever to the man she wanted to leave behind.

It felt like a twisted joke by fate, but now wasn't the time to dwell on this.

She took a deep breath to calm herself down. It hit Thalia that Brayan had probably never truly noticed her. He might not have even realized that the woman he had slept with was the same one he was about to divorce.

Thalia quickly got dressed and slipped away before Brayan could see her.

In her haste, she didn't see someone opening the door to the room across the hallway.

Sabina Lloyd stepped out from the director's room, her body showing signs of a recent encounter.

As an up-and-comer in the showbiz world, Sabina had made a bold move. Aiming to land the lead role in a new TV series, she had decided to get involved with the director.

Thalia's swift exit and the "VIP" tag on the door caught Sabina's attention.

She wondered why someone would run away from the opulence and networking opportunities that such a room seemed to offer.

Driven by her curiosity and what she could gain from it, Sabina pushed the ajar door and sneaked a look into the room Thalia had just left.

The sight of Brayan asleep and clues of what had happened that night filled her with excitement.

"Is that... Brayan? Oh! It's him! The CEO of the Rogers Group! The most influential figure in the business world!"

Sabina spotted a golden chance to climb the ladder of success quickly.

Caught up in the excitement of potentially joining forces with Brayan, Sabina made a bold move. She took off her clothes and positioned herself next to him, dreaming of rising to power by his side.

Meanwhile, Thalia hurried out of the place. She remembered how she was drugged and considered calling the police.

But the thought of revealing her one-night stand with Brayan stopped her.

She was at a loss, especially since she had suggested they divorce and wanted nothing to do with him.

Caught between a rock and a hard place, and with work time approaching, Thalia decided to head to her job first to figure things out.

After getting ready, she arrived at the office with a heavy heart.

Right when she walked in, she was greeted with news.

"Thalia, there's been a change. Our company's been taken over. The new boss wants the company report. Could you send it over?"

Thalia nodded, got up, and headed toward the CEO's office, documents in hand, after verifying their accuracy.

But just as she rounded the corner, Ablett blocked her path. He glared at her fiercely, as if filled with murderous intent.

The bandage on his head only made him look more menacing.

"What do you plan to do?" Thalia took a cautious step back.

Yet, Ablett moved closer, his voice laced with menace. "Thalia, how do you intend to make up for injuring me last night?"

Thalia met his gaze with a frosty look. "Let's not forget you drugged me. The moment I report you to the police, you're finished. Why would you even bring up the beating?"

"Humph! You probably didn't go to the police because you lack proof, right? Empty threats won't work on me!" Ablett boasted confidently.

As he spoke, he ogled at Thalia, attempting to touch her. "I let you be with me because I thought you were so stunning. If you behave well, I will help you with the work in the future..."

But before he could touch her, Thalia forcefully pushed his hand away and yelled, "Get out of my way!"

"You bitch! Stop acting so innocent! The drug I used was potent. You definitely slept with someone else."

Ablett was livid, not even caring that they were in a company setting; he was about to hit Thalia.

Thalia's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't anticipated Ablett daring to strike her at work.

Suddenly, a tall man stepped in front of her, blocking Ablett's attempt and effortlessly pushing him away.

Looking up, Thalia was taken aback.

Was that Brayan, her soon-to-be ex-husband?

Why was he here?

Before she could piece it together, Ablett shouted angrily, "Get lost! This is none of your business!"

Brayan's expression turned cold.

He had always looked down on men who resorted to hitting women. Stumbling upon this scene on his way back to his office, he instinctively intervened. He hadn't expected Ablett to be so bold.

"You're fired. Just get out of here," Brayan said icily.

Ablett protested loudly, "And who do you think you are? What right do you have to fire me?"

Raising his eyebrows, Brayan said firmly, "I'm the new CEO, Brayan Rogers."

Thalia was taken aback again.

What? Her soon-to-be ex-husband was the new CEO!

Ablett was just as surprised, his face going pale. "I'm sorry, Mr. Rogers. I didn't hit her. She came onto me first. I was only defending myself."

"Cut the lies, Ablett. You've harassed female employees before and got warnings and penalties for it. Mr. Rogers will find out once he looks into it," Thalia retorted with a smirk.

Brayan glanced at Thalia. She was telling the truth. He had checked the employee records. Ablett was known for his poor behavior and taking advantage of his company connections.

"I'll say this just once. Go get your final paycheck," Brayan said sternly.

His voice carried such authority that Ablett started sweating profusely, his legs shaking, unable to say another word, and he stumbled away.

Brayan turned to Thalia, who looked confused and still shocked by what had just happened.

With a slight frown, Brayan remembered something he had overheard and asked quietly, "What was that about drugging?"

At his question, Thalia became anxious, her breath getting stuck in her throat.

Did Brayan notice something?

Was he going to find out she was the woman who had sex with him last night?

Chapter 3 You're Coming To The Dinner With Me Tonight

Seeing that Brayan looked nonchalant, Thalia managed to calm herself down.

"It's nothing. Thanks for asking, Mr. Rogers."

"Alright." Brayan didn't probe further. His question was just a casual one, coming from a place of concern for those he oversaw. "If you ever feel unsafe, the company is here to help."

Thalia let out a sigh of relief. "Alright, thank you."

Brayan nodded, and then noticed the papers she was holding. "Are you the secretary who's here to drop off the documents? Please, come to my office and give me a rundown."

With that, he walked past Thalia toward the CEO's office.

Following him, Thalia couldn't help but think how absurd the situation was.

It never crossed her mind that her soon-to-be ex-husband, with whom she'd unexpectedly spent a night, would turn out to be her new boss.

Lost in her thoughts, she entered the office after Brayan.

As soon as they were inside, Thalia got down to business. "Mr. Rogers, here's the latest quarterly report. There are a few issues I need to discuss with you directly."

She cleared her throat, ready to start, but Brayan cut her off, saying, "Hold on a second."

"Do you need something?" Thalia felt puzzled.

"You've got a scratch." Brayan gestured for her to put the documents on the desk, and then dialed his assistant Jasper Hoffman. "Please bring a first-aid kit to my office."

Thalia tensed up for a moment, only then noticing that during her scuffle with Ablett, she had accidentally caught her right hand on a sharp edge of a cabinet.

Now, the cut was still bleeding, and some blood had stained the back of the report.

Shortly after, Jasper departed, having delivered the first-aid kit.

Sitting on the couch, Thalia tried to apply the ointment herself, but it was proving to be a challenge. While she was struggling to open the ointment, suddenly, a larger hand took over the task, holding the ointment and a cotton swab.

"Let me do that for you." Brayan took a seat beside her. His face was expressionless, yet his actions were tender.

As Thalia gazed at his attractive profile and felt his touch, her heart fluttered, leaving her bewildered.

She hadn't expected Brayan to be anything but distant.

Nervously, Thalia shifted backward.

"Stay still," Brayan urged her with a firm grip on her hand.

Thalia's heart raced. She felt the warmth of his hand and caught the distinct scent of his cologne, embodying the same intense and commanding presence he always had.

Just like the night before, he was relentless, strong, and assertive. He made love to her repeatedly, indifferent to her tears and protests, yet his touch softened eventually.

Suddenly, Thalia felt her ears heat up. Memories of the previous night flooded her mind, making her squirm with discomfort.

Brayan experienced a similar turmoil.

They sat close enough for him to breathe in Thalia's fresh and appealing scent, making his body warm slightly.

This fragrance was strangely familiar.

It brought back vivid memories of the previous night's wild encounter.

The woman beneath him was tender, and her pleas ignited his desire.

What struck him most was how her scent closely matched Thalia's.

Could this be her perfume?

Watching Thalia silently receive treatment, Brayan was engulfed by an odd sensation.

But his daydream was soon overshadowed by the awkwardness he felt this morning with Sabina.

Earlier this morning, he woke up to find Sabina looking at him with sad eyes, her tears streaming down her face as she revealed that the previous night had been her first experience. She pleaded with Brayan to take responsibility.

Yet, Sabina's presence didn't have the charm it had the night before. Instead, it made Brayan feel uneasy.

Even though he didn't feel emotionally connected, Brayan felt obliged to make things right.

He quickly started looking into what had happened the previous night, finding out that he had been drugged by an unfamiliar model, sent by a business partner, for personal gain. He promptly had someone get back at the model.

But dealing with Sabina was more complicated.

This thought frustrated Brayan.

He let go of these thoughts and continued to tend to Thalia's wound with a band-aid. Just then, Jasper knocked and entered.

Noticing the sound, Thalia quickly withdrew her hand and her face turned red.

After a brief silence, Brayan casually looked at Jasper and said, "Go on."

Jasper remained expressionless, acting as if he hadn't noticed the office's earlier tension. "Mr. Rogers, there's a dinner party tonight."

Upon hearing this, Brayan glanced at Thalia and pondered for a moment.

He had caught up on the latest company news, acknowledging Thalia's contributions and her recent promotion to secretary general. With this realization, Brayan decided to involve her in his evening plans.

He turned to Thalia and announced, "You're coming with me to the dinner tonight."
