It must be fate that brought them together. Since that, there was no way he would let her escape now.

Chapter 1 The Man

Ding!

The door to the room opened with a click and the sound startled Louisa Jin. She quickly covered her mouth to prevent herself from making noise.

Her heart was racing. Clutching her chest, she tried to ease the rising nervousness within.

The room was dark and quiet. There was no sound except the soft crash of the waves outside. She reached for the light switch, but noticing the figure on the bed, she shivered and withdrew her hand.

Taking a deep breath, she walked towards the bed with a mix of excitement and anticipation.

She touched the person on the bed with a quivering hand, trying to draw strength from the alcohol she had consumed earlier.

"Ah!"

The moment she touched the man on the bed, all his muscles tightened. He grabbed her and pulled her underneath him. Then his body relaxed again. Louisa Jin, who was a daze, heard his low laughter.

Graham Li's voice sounded a little strange to her today. His voice was much deeper and his body seemed much stronger than what she imagined. But it didn't matter. She was too drunk. Whether it was from the wine or the man's sexy, provocative scent, she wasn't sure.

With the waves crashing outside the window, Louisa Jin felt like a ship, rising and falling with the ebb and flow of the vast sea. The person in charge of the ship was the man she had been in love for three years.

She raised her head, allowing him to kiss her. The pain of what was to follow was inevitable because her body had never experienced a man's love.

"Ouch! It hurts!" Louisa Jin cried and tried to push him away.

However, the man, who was momentarily stunned, began moving more gently.

She raised her head helplessly and fumbled with her hands as she didn't know where to put them.

"Graham!" she called out.

The man on top of her was taken aback before driving into her, giving her an earth-shattering orgasm. Louisa Jin couldn't help shouting, "Oh, Graham! I love you!"

It was the best feeling in the world to sleep with the one she loved.

Louisa Jin fell asleep with this happy thought as a smile crept on her face.

When her breath gradually stabilized, the man sat up from the bed and strolled over to the window, still naked but completely confident in his figure. Gazing out at the calm sea outside, he lit a cigarette.

"Tell Mr. Wang that I'm not satisfied with the woman he sent me!"

She was calling another man's name while they were having sex. This made him very annoyed.

If Louisa Jin were awake at this time, she would have found out that the cold, deep voice did not belong to her humorous and gentle boyfriend, Graham Li.

Who was he then?

The man's face could be seen faintly under the moonlight.

His sculpted face, straight nose, thick eyebrows, and deep, dark eyes, combined with his sculpted body made all the ladies weak on their knees.

He was Casey Wu-the heir of the powerful Wu family in S City. Half of the economic lifeline of the city was in their hands and he had stakes in almost every profitable industry.

So when he was dissatisfied some service, it meant big trouble for the service provider, who, in this case, was Mr. Wang.

"Mr. Wu, I will inform Mr. Wang."

The assistant knew that Mr. Wang was doomed. Not only did he risk becoming an enemy of Casey Wu's fiancee by sending a woman to him, but he also sent someone who didn't fit his taste. There was no hope for Mr. Wang now.

However, just before Casey Wu was about to hang up the phone, he changed his mind. "You don't have to tell Mr. Wang anything. That's it." Thus he ended the conversation. He strolled over to Louisa Jin and fell asleep beside her.

Before long, the two of them were awakened by a loud noise.

"Louisa Jin, you shameless woman! Get out!"

Casey Wu, who was annoyed at being woken from his slumber, scowled. Who dared to disturb his hard-won sleep? Realizing what had happened, he suddenly opened his eyes and sat bolt upright. How did he manage to drift off to sleep?

He was stumped to find that his incurable insomnia was cured with this woman by his side. Casey Wu looked incredulously at Louisa Jin sleeping beside him.

"Louisa Jin, I know you are in this room. Come out!"

"Sir, I'm sorry, sir. You can't do that!"

"Fuck off! It's none of your business. I am going to find my shameless girlfriend."

Louisa Jin was awakened by the sound of knocking at the door. She muttered and stretched out her arms before opening her eyes. "Graham, give me a hug!"

After a passionate night, she wanted some intimacy with her boyfriend. She waited for a long time but got no reciprocation.

"Who are you?" When Louisa Jin opened her eyes, she was in for a shock.

She was wide awake and her face turned ashen.

'Where is Graham? Did he leave?

I must be dreaming. Yes, it must be a dream!'

As these thoughts crowded her mind, Louisa Jin prayed that the whole thing was a dream. However, her naked body under her quilt and the sound of knocking at the door told her that it was real.

"Who are you? Why are you in my bed?" she asked with a lump in her throat.

"Louisa Jin, right? I'd like to know how you got into my room,"

asked Casey Wu just as the door was pushed open.

The moment Graham Li stormed into the room, his gentle and humorous persona transformed into a furious lion. He marched over and barked at her, "You shameless woman! You told me that you would only sleep with me after marriage. Why did you come here to find a cheap man?"

'Cheap man?' Casey Wu smirked and glared at the intruder in front of him with a dangerous glint in his eyes.

No one had ever dared to call him that before.

"And you, who the hell are you?"

Hearing Graham Li's question, Casey Wu got up from the bed and put on his night robe coolly. "You solve your own problems." After a pause, he continued, "Graham Li, right? You will soon find out who I am."

With that, he sauntered out. Although he was wearing a night robe, he had the air of a king, making Graham Li, who was fully-clothed, look so much smaller. Graham didn't even dare to stop him.

Turning to look at Louisa Jin, Graham Li growled, "You bitch!"

"Graham! I...I really don't know why and how this happened!" she stammered.

Chapter 2 It's Over

With tears streaming down her face, Louisa looked at her boyfriend, who was fuming in front of her. She tried to explain but was ashamed of her nakedness. There was a strange pain in her lower body too. At that moment, she would not be able to elucidate no matter how hard she tried.

"I'm not mean to you. Then how could you do such a thing to me?" Graham roared, stomping over to her side of the bed.

He grabbed her and shook her with all his strength, as if trying to break all her bones.

"I'm sorry, Graham. I really don't know how this happened,"

Louisa wailed. Her lips were pale and tears stained her face. She was paralyzed with fear and it felt like all the blood had drained out of her body. When he shook her, she was like a broken doll, desperate and pitiful.

This was their graduation trip and they were planning to get married right after the trip.

Yesterday was Graham's birthday. For his gift, Louisa had hesitated for a long time and, finally, after getting drunk, she had decided to give herself to him as a gift before the wedding.

Never in her wildest dreams had she imagined that she would end up in bed with another man!

No man could bear to see his beloved woman sleeping with another man and Graham was no exception.

Looking at Louisa's pained expression, Graham clutched his hair in frustration and paced the room.

Last night, when Louisa didn't return to his room, the uneasiness in his heart and his intuition made him knock on every room door in the hotel. Every time he knocked, his heart beat faster fearing the worst.

This was the last door he knocked on and also the one that broke his heart.

"Louisa, I told you I would not sleep with you until you said yes. And what did you do? Betray me!"

Now that all his anger had poured out, only despair remained in Graham's heart. He berated Louisa for her unfaithfulness, refusing to believe her when she said that she had gone into the wrong room.

"Then let's break up!" Louisa sobbed.

Her precious first time was gone and she didn't even know who the man was. And now she had to face her boyfriend, which made her even more aggrieved.

"Okay, fine! If that's what you want!" Graham stared at Louisa with bloodshot eyes, as if he wanted to poke a hole in her face.

"Yes, let's break up," Louisa said calmly, wiping the tears off her face.

Now that it had come to this, she could not recognize her gentle and humorous boyfriend anymore. Breaking up was the best choice, as she would never forgive herself.

Although her heart was breaking into a million pieces, she had to say it.

After Louisa's ultimatum, the door slammed loudly.

When Graham left, all the strength in Louisa's body disappeared. She crumpled down on the bed and pulled the quilt over her head.

She began to sob softly at first, but her sobs became louder and louder as all the unhappiness and grievance in her heart came gushing out. Laying under the quilt, Louisa didn't eat or drink all day. As time passed, the sun rose and fell and night came.

When everything was quiet again, Louisa emerged from her cocoon without any feeling, expression, or spirit.

She staggered back to the room where she should have been last night. It was in a mess like a storm had passed through. Fortunately, Graham had only taken his things away and not any of hers.

She washed her face, put on ironed clothes, dabbed on some makeup, wore her earrings and necklace, and left.

When she stepped outside, a chill spread to her bones making her numb. But she soldiered on gritting her teeth. She was like a mermaid, who had accidentally entered the mortal world and wanted to return to the embrace of the sea.

However, she was just a mortal and the sea was a fatal temptation to her.

Louisa continued to walk further into the sea without fear.

Thump!

A voice behind her brought her out of her thoughts. By this time, the water was up to her neck.

Suddenly, a strong force firmly restrained her. At the same time, a deep voice boomed in her ear. "Don't act stupid!"

His voice was like a bolt of thunder. It was the same man from last night!

Hearing this voice, Louisa, who was subdued until now, sprung to action. She struggled hard to get out of his grasp and continued to walk deeper into the sea.

"Stop acting rash! Do you hear me?" Louisa thought she had no more feelings left after crying her eyes out the previous day.

But when she heard the voice, all the memories came rushing back to her mind.

That awful feeling in the pit of her stomach, her angry boyfriend, and the deathly despair.

"Let go of me! You don't know anything!" Louisa yelled hysterically. Still squirming against his hold, she repeated, "You don't know anything! My first time was taken away by a stranger, my boyfriend left me, and my wedding is cancelled. It's all gone forever!"

No matter how hard Louisa fought, Casey didn't let go of her. He bound her in his powerful arms, pulling her from danger to safety bit by bit.

Once Louisa was back on the beach, her strength left her. She lay helplessly on the sand, repeating, "What do you know? You know nothing!"

"I will be responsible for you,"

Casey blurted, stunning both her as well as himself.

But Louisa didn't believe him. She kept shaking her head. They just met by chance. Maybe someone else would be okay with having a one night stand. But she couldn't.

But Casey reaffirmed his claim. "I said I will be responsible for you."

He never thought he would say such words. Perhaps he just wanted to comfort this desperate woman. Or maybe it was because of the magical power this woman had on him.

When Casey lay on the bed, tossing and turning, he couldn't fall asleep as usual. He suddenly remembered that when he was beside this woman, he had slept like a baby.

So he looked for her everywhere in the hotel but didn't find her. He never thought that she would be out here, trying to end her life. What was more, he was even more surprised at himself for blurting out the words "be responsible for her."

It must be fate that brought them together.

Chapter 3 How Dare She Run Away

Louisa was still lying on the beach. When she started coughing, Casey took off his coat and put it on her.

"Thank you." She hugged herself tightly bracing against the wind and looked at Casey sheepishly.

This was the first time that Louisa noticed Casey properly. The more she looked at him in the moonlight, the more familiar he looked. But she couldn't recall who he was and where she had seen him.

Her dazed expression surprised Casey. He didn't expect this woman, who suddenly appeared in his life, to not recognize him. After all, everybody knew who he was.

Interesting! While she was searching her memories, Casey picked her up in his arms and strode towards his room.

He was eager to test his theory about getting good sleep with her. 'Or was it just a coincidence?' he wondered.

"What are you doing?" Louisa wanted to free herself from his hold but she could not move. She stared at him wide-eyed with helplessness. She had no idea what this man was going to do.

Was he going to do what he did last night?

The mere thought of it made Louisa tremble. "I...I'm not that kind of a person. Stop messing around!" she said shakily.

All she got was a deep laughter in response. He was amused that this woman was as innocent as a baby. Casey had no intention of explaining himself, but he didn't want to scare away this woman, so he said kindly, "Don't worry. Last night was an accident. I'm sorry."

Never in his wildest dreams did Casey think that he would say sorry to this woman.

What he didn't know was that even though this was the first time that he apologized to her, it was certainly not the last. He would be apologizing to Louisa many times in the years to come.

Thinking of yesterday, Louisa couldn't help but sob softly. Before she knew it, she burst into tears, allowing all her pent-up grief to pour out.

"I will be responsible for you," Casey repeated soothingly.

However, he had another idea in his mind.

Casey was an experienced businessman. Everyone knew that he was shrewd. He appeared gentle on the surface, but nobody what schemes were brewing in his head. He had a way with women. Although he was engaged to someone, he also had a lot of lovers.

'I'm afraid I've said this to many women, ' he thought ruefully.

Louisa's crying gradually faded and he heard her breath becoming steady.

Amazingly, she cried herself to sleep in his arms. This meant that he didn't have to explain what he was going to do next.

Casey took Louisa back to his new room-a top-grade presidential suite. The bedroom and living room were fully equipped, and the wine cabinet was loaded with the finest wines.

After carefully laying her down on the bed, he removed the wet clothes from her body one by one. He was surprised to see that she didn't wake up. When the last piece of clothing was removed, Casey felt his throat dry up and something stirred in his lower abdomen.

He immediately turned off the light and drew the thick curtains. He lay down quietly beside her in the darkness with no intention of touching her again.

He felt a little uneasy when he heard Louisa purring contentedly.

But somehow her rhythmic breathing lulled him into a deep sleep. His eyelids gradually became heavy and his consciousness became blurred. He seemed to be cured of his ongoing insomnia just like that.

It felt a little unreal for Casey to be sleeping soundly all through the night. Now he was certain that Louisa was a magician who held the cure to his insomnia.

There was no way he would let her escape now.

When Casey opened his eyes the next morning, he immediately reached over to her side to touch her. But all he found was a cold, empty bed instead of her warm skin.

His drowsiness disappeared in an instant when he realized that the woman had escaped!

That morning Louisa had woken up while Casey was still asleep.

She didn't dare to open her eyes. The pressure on her chest made her aware of the fact that she had slept beside the same stranger once more.

Although it appeared that nothing had happened, she still couldn't accept it. She gently put his arm aside, quietly dressed in her dry clothes, and walked out.

However, she almost tripped over something and let out a muffled scream, which made the man in the bed turn over and grunt in his sleep.

Fearing he would wake up, Louisa quickly sneaked out of the room.

After leaving the room, she found that she didn't have any money with her to get back to S City. She didn't even have the money to take the train, let alone flying back.

Stamping her foot in annoyance, she returned to Casey's room. After fumbling around in the darkness for a while, she found his wallet and pulled out a few dollars from it. Grabbing a pen and a piece of paper, she hurriedly scribbled something on it.

"Hello, stranger. Thank you for saving me yesterday. And I have to say, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for leaving without saying goodbye and for taking your money. I'm leaving my phone number. Please send me your bank account number and I'll pay you back."

Staring at the note, Casey sneered. Thinking about how she just walked away without informing him made him laugh dryly.

Casey crumpled the note into a ball and threw it on the wall irritably.

Pulling out his mobile phone, he dialed his assistant's number. "Investigate a girl named Louisa Jin. I want all the information about her." Having issued orders, he gazed at the crumpled note with a sinister smile on his face.

It would take Louisa 50 hours to get back to S City. She only took enough money to get herself a train ticket as she didn't want to take too much money from the stranger.

After a long time, the train finally pulled into the station. Louisa sighed. She was back in the real world.

But what she had to face was, in fact, hell. And it was all thanks to Graham, who got back before her. He had destroyed her reputation beyond repair.

"You know what? That woman is so shameless."

"Do you think she's trying to become famous?"

"Yes, you are right. She is from a poor family. Of course, she has to resort to such low tactics."

"She's just crazy to have done such a thing!"

When Louisa returned to school, she found that everyone was looking down on her. Most of her classmates looked at her with incomparable disgust.

"Louisa, how dare you come back after what you did!" Graham said glaring at her.
