Chapter 1 A Mistake (Part One)

Inside the Emperor Hotel, Terrell Su was a little nervous. The palms of his clasped hands under the table were already sweaty.

Sitting opposite him was Hogan Yin, the man who owned this most luxurious hotel in the city.

Terrell Su wouldn't underestimate the other man because he was so young.

He knew that behind Hogan Yin's handsome face hid his dark personality. His ability to almost control the lifeblood of the business world in Asia was far beyond his age.

But Terrell Su had been waiting for this opportunity for five years. He must convince Hogan Yin to cooperate with him for the successful transformation of his S Group.

"Go on," Hogan Yin said coldly.

"I've already presented to you everything. So, what do you think?" Terrell Su replied.

He was beginning to lose confidence because of Hogan Yin's brief words. "By the way, I prepared a gift for you. I hope you'll like it."

He then stood up and left the room.

Hogan Yin was so unpredictable that Terrell Su found it difficult to figure out what he was thinking. Even the expression on his face had never changed since they started to talk.

But Terrell Su was hoping that Hogan Yin would like the gift he prepared for him and give him a positive response later.

Without looking at him, Hogan Yin turned around and walked to the bathroom.

When he was walking along the corridor, Terrell Su saw Celia Su striding towards him. "Dad!"

she called out with an anxious look on her face. "Go to the hospital now! Mom had a car accident."

Terrell Su felt like he was struck by lightning. After a few seconds of being stupefied, he said, "Celia, go to Room 108 and get my bag."

All his cash and credit cards were in his bag. He needed them to pay for his wife's medical expenses.

Celia Su nodded and walked towards Room 108 while Terrell Su ran to his car.

Since the door was not locked, Celia Su just pushed it open and came in. When she was about to pick up Terrell Su's bag, the bathroom door opened, and she heard footsteps behind her.

She turned around, and her eyes met with a pair of cold deep-set black eyes that were staring at her as if she was prey.

Hogan Yin raised his eyebrows. He wondered if this was the gift that Terrell Su was referring to.

He just went to the bathroom, and when he came out, the woman was already in the room. He didn't expect that a person like Terrell Su would offer such a beauty.

The corners of his mouth curved up. Actually, he intended to leave after coming out of the bathroom. But now, he seemed to have changed his mind. He got interested in the woman in front of him.

Celia Su was about to leave, but a hand grabbed her arm.

She raised her head and looked at the strange man in front of her in surprise.

"What are you doing?" she shouted.

Her face turned pale with fright in an instant. She tried to push him away, but she failed. Hogan Yin held her wrist tightly, pushed her to the bed, and pressed her down.

She kicked and struggled hard to avoid his hands that started to wander around her body. But he was so strong that she couldn't get rid of him.

She began to feel pain, so she shouted in panic, "Go away! Let go of me!"

"Let go of you? Aren't you prepared by Terrell Su for me?"

Hogan Yin stopped what he was doing and looked at Celia Su coldly. "It's the reason why you're here, isn't it?"

He then tore up her blouse and pressed his body against hers.

Celia Su got more terrified as she gasped for breath.

Unfortunately, Hogan Yin found her frightened look very attractive. So, he tore up her skirt as well.

He found her naive expression amusing and she looked more appealing to him. He was about to take her in when the door opened.

"Excuse me, is this Mr. Hogan Yin's room?" A coquettish woman stood at the door and stared at the bed blankly, mouth agape.

She was sent here to entertain Hogan Yin. Why was there another woman in his room?

"Fuck off!" Hogan Yin roared. He despised the sudden interruption of his pleasure. The coquettish woman trembled with fear, so she quickly closed the door and ran away.

Celia Su got more frightened by his voice, but Hogan Yin didn't mind her. He turned back to her and continued what he was doing.

After a long time, he felt satisfied, so he finally let go of her.

Staring at her beautiful face, he took a deep breath. Her body was so soft and beautiful that he lost control just now.

Seeing that her shoulders were trembling while she was still lying on the bed, Hogan Yin reached out his hand, wanting to pull her up.

But he remembered that she was a prostitute. It was her job to entertain men for money.

With this thought, he sneered and put his hand on her shoulder.

But before he could say anything, Celia Su yelled, "Fuck off!" She turned and stared at him, her eyes full of loathing. Disgust was written all over her face. "Bastard! You are so disgusting!"

Hogan Yin's face darkened at once. He was the CEO of the Yin Group.

How dare this woman scolded him so harshly!

The hatred in her beautiful eyes made him angry. He looked down and stared at her, his expression was cold and arrogant. "How much did Terrell Su pay you? Don't you know that he used you as a bargaining chip so he could win my favor to collaborate with him?"

"You..." Celia Su gritted her teeth in silent fury. She took a deep breath and was about to argue with Hogan Yin, but he already put on his clothes and walked out of the room without looking back.

He slammed the door shut. Celia Su only caught sight of his back while he was buttoning up his shirt unhurriedly.

Celia Su was left fuming on the bed. She grabbed the quilt and sobbed for a long time.

Her whole body was so weak, and she felt like her heart was cut into pieces.

Deep inside her, she kept on shouting, 'I'm not a bargaining chip. My father will never use me for business. No way!'

Chapter 2 A Mistake (Part Two)

After a long time, Celia Su appeared in the ward with Terrell Su's bag.

"What took you so long?" Terrell Su asked.

"I'm sorry, Dad. I was so anxious just now that I lost my way."

"That's alright. Just be careful next time." Terrell Su sighed. When he noticed that Celia Su's face was unusually pale, he patted her consolingly on the shoulder. "Your mother's condition is not good. But the doctor said that as long as she stays in the hospital, she will be out of danger.

Don't worry. I can afford to pay for her hospital bills."

Terrell Su suffered a huge blow in his career more than a decade ago. When the huge company he was working with went bankrupt, he and his family moved to S City. At that time, Celia Su was only six years old.

He worked hard and later on built his own small company. Since then, their living condition improved. In fact, they now belonged to the middle class.

Although they were not well-off, he was glad that his family was not suffering financially.

Celia Su nodded her head quietly. She didn't mention anything about what happened in the hotel just now.

Hogan Yin went back home with a scowl on his face.

"Mr. Yin, are you okay?" Charles Hua stood up and greeted him with a flattering smile.

Looking at Hogan Yin's wrinkled face, he knew that he waited for nothing tonight. This was not the best time to talk about the investment for the racecourse.

Eventually, he decided to ask, "How was your business meeting today?"

"Forget it. It's just a small company." A trace of disgust flashed across Hogan Yin's eyes. "That company is terrible."

Charles Hua just nodded. But deep inside him, he wondered who dared to offend Hogan Yin.

From the looks of it, Hogan Yin was really pissed off.

He sank back on the sofa angrily. After saying a few more polite words, Charles Hua left in a hurry.

As soon as he walked out of Hogan Yin's house, he called someone on the phone. "Check which company did Mr. Hogan Yin meet tonight."

He was curious about who could have angered Hogan Yin that much.

If that person was strong, he would only be contented to satisfy his curiosity. But if that person was weak, he could do something to avenge Hogan Yin.

Two days after his meeting with Hogan Yin in the Emperor Hotel, something unfortunate happened to Terrell Su.

The Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau sent a large group of people to do a surprise inspection in the S Group. The company was shut down because of some poisonous substances that were found in their products.

Terrell Su did his best to convince them that everything was just a misunderstanding. However, he was just like an ant in the eyes of the prosecutors. All he could do was watch his hard work being destroyed as he felt like a knife was slowly piercing through his heart.

Right now, Terrell Su and Celia Su were standing in front of Sophie Ren's bed, crying bitterly.

"Dad, what happened? Is there something wrong with your production?" Celia Su asked.

"No, there isn't." Terrell Su shook his head. He strictly monitored every step in production. It was impossible to have some poisonous substances in their products.

"This is all my fault. I must have offended Mr. Yin. That's why he did this on purpose." Terrell Su took a deep breath. It was the only possible reason he could think of.

When Celia Su heard it, she frowned. She then asked Terrell Su if he was the man in his twenties who always wore an expressionless face.

Terrell Su nodded.

Anger surged up in Celia Su's heart. "Why did he have to do this? He has gone too far!"

At first, Terrell Su was surprised that Celia Su seemed to know Hogan Yin. But when he thought that she might have seen them talking in the Emperor Hotel that day, the worry in his heart dissipated. At the same time, a sense of guilt rose up from his heart. He shamelessly offered a woman to Hogan Yin just to win him over. But in the end, he only angered Hogan Yin. Now, he was in big trouble.

But he couldn't afford to let Celia Su know what he did, so he chose to keep it to himself.

"Your mother is still in bad condition now. What should we do?"

Now that the factory was shut down and under investigation, Terrell Su didn't only lose their family income, but his business partners were also demanding a refund of the money they had deposited to him.

What was more, Sophie Ren's current condition was worrying him to death.

"Don't worry, Dad," Celia Su said firmly, with tears in her eyes. "I will find a way. Even if I have to borrow money, I'll do it just for Mom to recover."

Terrell Su looked at Celia Su sadly. He also felt sorry for her. As much as possible, he didn't want his daughter to be indebted to anyone else. But this time, they really had no other choice.

The bright sky turned dark.

Then heavy rain began to fall.

Hogan Yin's sports car pulled over on the roadside.

The driver looked at the rearview mirror and asked, "Mr. Yin, are you going to go hiking later?"

"No. Cancel it." Hogan Yin pulled his tie irritably because of the stupid question. It was raining hard now. Definitely, the mountain trails were slippery. How could he go hiking?

It was not easy for him to find the time to go hiking, but his plan was ruined by the rain. He couldn't help feeling irritated.

Hogan Yin impatiently turned his head and looked out of the window, hoping that the rain would stop. All of a sudden, his eyes caught sight of a slender woman at the door of a grocery store not far away.

She was talking with someone inside. Whatever it was that she asked, it seemed that she was refused. She stood at the door, still pleading sadly. Since the woman was only wearing a thin dress, Hogan Yin saw that her body trembled slightly.

'What kind of woman would pitifully beg for mercy under such heavy rain?'

he thought inwardly. He could tell that she was already getting cold.

When the woman turned her head towards his direction, Hogan Yin felt a sense of familiarity.

She was the woman in the hotel. The frown on Hogan Yin's face deepened as he recognized Celia Su.

He wondered what could have made her lower herself to beg someone.

Chapter 3 Let Her Go (Part One)

Hogan sneered while watching Celia pleading the other woman. She looked so hopeless.

He killed time watching the scene from the car window while waiting for the rain to stop.

"Aunt Ella, please..." Celia continued to plead, but Ella Yao only pushed her out of the door.

After Celia left, Ella Yao poked her head out and sighed.

"Alas, she is really pitiful. Everything was fine before her mother had a car accident the night before yesterday. She just went out to look for her father, and when she came back, everything seemed to have changed," she said.

Hogan overheard what Ella Yao had said, and it shocked him.

Celia was in his hotel room that night.

If she came to look for his father, it meant that she was not a prostitute.

She was Terrell's daughter. That night, she went to the hotel to look for her father and not to entertain him.

Looking at Celia's receding back, Hogan realized that he had made a big mistake.

"Mr. Yin, I think we can leave now," the driver said.

But when the driver turned his head, he saw a business card between Hogan's fingers. Hogan pointed at Celia, who was a little far from them now. "Go after that woman and give this to her. Tell her to go to the finance department anytime. I will compensate for the misunderstanding that happened that night."

Celia walked aimlessly on the street. She thought inwardly, 'We need to pay my mother's medical expenses today. I have to borrow money from someone else. Where should I go this time?'

"Miss, please wait a moment." Celia stopped when she heard a voice from behind.

When she turned around, she saw a man striding towards her, panting.

"Mr. Yin asked me to give this to you. He said that everything was just a misunderstanding that night, and he would compensate you. You can go to our finance department anytime and just show this business card. Our finance department is on the..."

"Enough!" Before the driver could finish his words, Celia interrupted him angrily. "I don't need any compensation from him. You can leave now."

She didn't want to have anything to do with Hogan.

"But..." The driver took another two steps forward and put the business card into Celia's hand. "If you don't accept this, he will get angry at me for not fulfilling my task. Please just take this."

Since Celia didn't want to waste time more time arguing with the man, she grabbed the business card and walked away without saying anything.

"How was it?" Hogan asked as soon as the driver got back in the car. He had been waiting for a while.

The driver nodded his head.

"Good." Hogan nodded. He was not surprised at all.

No one had ever refused compensation from the Yin Group.

Celia stared at the name "Hogan Yin" in the card in her hand. 'Everything was just a misunderstanding?' she thought furiously.

Hogan's casual misunderstanding destroyed her life. He was nothing but a bastard.

Without second thoughts, Celia threw the business card to the ground. It soaked in the dirt and rainwater on the road.

She would rather borrow money from other people than accept any compensation from him.

After such a busy day, Hogan sat at his desk, crossed his legs, and rubbed his temples.

The financial manager came in and put some documents on his desk.

Hogan remembered Celia, so he asked, "Has someone come to the finance department to get money using my business card recently?"

The finance manager was stunned for a moment before he shook his head. "No, sir."

Hogan didn't expect to hear such an answer. "Are you sure?"

The director thought for a while and then nodded.

People went to his department to get money, and it wasn't a big deal at all. But if someone used the president's business card to get money, he must know it.

After all, Hogan rarely gave his business cards to outsiders.

Hogan frowned and fell silent. It was as if he was deep in thought.

He expected that Celia would happily take the compensation using his business card.

But it had been three days, and she hadn't shown out yet.

Celia certainly aroused his interest.

"Jasper," Hogan called his driver. "Tell that woman that if she comes here with my business card tomorrow, she can have a chance to work in the Yin Group."

He thought that if money was not enough to lure her, perhaps the reputation of the Yin Group could attract her.

The driver and the finance manager were both shocked. Celia was indeed lucky.

A lot of people had been dying to enter the Yin Group. But Celia was even personally invited by the president. It was such a great honor, wasn't it?

"Yes, Mr. Yin." Jasper tried his best not to show the astonishment on his face.

In the late afternoon that day, Hogan called Jasper to his office again.

"Have you told that woman named Celia Su to come here today?" Since it was already late in the afternoon and Celia hadn't arrived yet, Hogan doubted his driver.

The driver must have forgotten to do the task he assigned to him.

Jasper answered, "Yes, Mr. Yin. I have invited her to come here."

Hogan frowned and asked, "What did she say to you?"

"She... she said..." Jasper stammered.

But when Hogan gave him a sharp glare, he continued, "She said she threw your business card away."

"What?" Hogan straightened up.

Jasper was shocked by Hogan's reaction. Fortunately, he didn't tell Hogan everything that Celia said.

The truth was, Celia told him to tell Hogan not to bother her again.

Jasper had never met a woman who was bold enough to refuse Hogan.

Hogan's eyes narrowed. His lips then curved into a smile as he said in a powerful voice, "Continue to invite her then. Don't stop until she agrees.

I must see her in my company by hook or by crook." Jasper understood that he should pay special attention to this task. There was no room for failure.

"Miss Su, please come to the Yin Group with me." Jasper was so anxious now.

These past few days, he had come to see Celia several times to convince her. He hadn't gone to the company these days. Instead, he stayed outside her house all day long.

"Please, stop bothering me." Celia was getting distressed. "I have already told you many times, I won't accept anything from him."

She didn't want to waste her time anymore. She had been busy looking for a part-time job these days.

Jasper was frightened.

He could never say such a thing in front of Hogan.

"Is she here now?" Hogan turned around from the window and faced Jasper. He looked so confident and calm.

"Mr. Yin, I think we should leave her alone. That woman seems to misunderstand you." Jasper plucked up all his courage to say those words to Hogan.
