Iris Youngblood was the youngest of the Youngblood alpha family in the Youngblood Pack. Her father was one of the ruthless leaders that packs have seen. Ever since her mother died to the hands of the Blue Moon Pack from what her father have stated.
Her father, Daniel was six feet with dirty blonde hair that matched Iris. His blue eyes was ice cold and gotten colder over the years. Iris was only five when her mother was found dead.
Daniel had blamed Iris the reason why one of the Blue Moon Pack was able to get their claws into to her.
Iris mother went to get medicine for Iris when she was ambushed. Iris developed an ear infection that caused fevers that made her mother run to get something to help her daughter. If it weren't for Iris and her damn ear infection, Mariah would be still alive, her father kept repeating in his head.
His frustration of the lost of his mate turned him bitter and cold hearted. He ruled with a strict fist and it pushed into his home.
"Iris, I need to get you away from him." Her oldest brother held her close to him after one of her father's outburst.
He was a younger version of their father as for Iris and Jessica they was a smaller version of their mother. Except for Iris's eyes. Her matched the deep sea of blue.
She shook her head to him with her small voice, "I can't leave you and Jessica behind."
His fingers went to her curls of her dirty blonde hair after her sister placed curls into her hair. Justin moved her locks behind her ear.
He looked into her ocean deep blues as tears fell, "Iris, he only attacks you when he becomes like this. He blames you for mom and it is not your fault."
She tilted her head away from him as she sighed, "If I leave then he will start on you or Jessica." He cupped his big fingers around her small narrow jaw, "I am getting you out of here. Maybe with one of the humans can protect you."
She snorted at him, "And what, go to school with the humans and have a human life. I will turn at sixteen."
Iris was a bright ten years old that has been at her father mercy for the past five years. Her brother's finger went over the red fingerprints on her cheeks, "Please, Iris. One day someone will get tired of father's wrath and you are our hope."
Justin, her brother picked her notebook that she was scribbling in as he took a deep breath. He held it up as it showed one of her drawings of herself much older in the arms of a strong alpha.
She doesn't know where she saw him.
She would zone out when she would draw.
One of the reasons why her father believes that Iris is at fault of her mother's death. She drew her mother's death a week before it happened. She couldn't see who the killer was.
That didn't stop Iris trying to tap into it to find out. Place this abuse of her father behind her. At least that is what she hope for. The family hid the drawing that Iris drew as it could show the future.
Later that night, Justin and Jessica who are twins stood outside as Iris made her way out into the fall breeze. "Come on, Iris. Before father wakes." Jessica sniffled as she wrapped her arms around her little sister. Justin and Jessica was ten years old than Iris.
Justin and Jessica's mates waited in a SUV that was miles down the street just in case of watchers of the night. Iris never understood why her father placed watchers for only her.
The three of them walked as Jessica and Justin kept an eye on their surroundings. Justin stopped in his tracks as his hand went to his blonde hair, "Iris, when I tell you to run, Run."
The black in Iris's blues widened as she nodded, "Then what?" He shook his head as he turned to her. He placed his hands on her arms, "Iris, Marc and Brenda will get you to a family that will treat you right. Don't come back here. Not until it is time for you to take over the pack."
Iris searched her brother's eyes as he snarled, "Run. Iris." She shook her head as he growled louder, "Run, now." Iris backed away as she whispered, "Love you."
She ran down the road as she spotted the SUV when Marc stood outside keeping the door open, "Come on, Quick." Iris quickly jumped in then looked behind her as she watched Jessica and Justin split up to get the watchers to chase after them. She couldn't help to feel that something bad was going to happen if they got caught. She prayed that they wouldn't.
Iris looked out the window as she sniffled, "Do you think Justin and Jessica will be okay?" Brenda sighed as she moved her mirror to Iris face, "They will be okay, Iris. We promise you."
Why after five years of abuse that they now wanted to get her out of there?
Iris looked up into the mirror as Marc pulled over on the road as he groaned. They been talking about getting Iris out for years, but they waited until now.
"Iris, listen. I know you are worry about Jessica and Justin. You can't go back there. If you do then your father is going to give you to Mr. Carter." Her eyes widened.
How could her father want to give her to Mr. Carter?
He could be her grandfather.
He was sliver back wolf that would have abuse her worse than her father ever did.
Iris knew that Carter had a soft spot for her, in a creepy way. He was in his fifties and she was only ten.
Why would he want such a young mate?
She was an alpha, but still.
Why would her father do that to her?
Now, it was making sense to Iris why there was wolves watching of her twenty-four seven. It was to make sure that Iris stayed put for Carter. She felt sick at the feeling.
About three hours later, Marc pulled up to a house as he sighed, "I am sorry we had to take you away from Jessica and Justin. Trust us. This is for the best." Iris looked up at Marc and Brenda as tears fell from her face.
She walked up to the house as a woman that stood tall with red hair and green eyes with a man that was older with sliver hair and brown eyes walked out of the house. The woman walked over to Iris as she sighed, "Iris, I am Daisy, and this is my husband Derek."
Iris took a big sigh as they allowed her into the house. She didn't want to be there but what choice did she have.
The fall leaves flew behind Iris as she walked into the house as Marc and Brenda stood outside. Derek grabbed her things as he thanked the two. Daisy walked up a set of stairs. The house wasn't big, but it wasn't small either. It wasn't like the big house that she was used to where her father was the alpha.
"Iris!" Daisy called from the stairs. Iris ran to the door of her bedroom throwing on her jacket and grabbing her book bag. This was her last year in Oliver Ames High School in Easton. She wanted to make sure that she finished with a big bang.
She missed her first couple months in tenth grade because of her turning. Daisy and Derek knew that she was going to need guidance on it where they was humans. They didn't understand the process but knew that she would have go through it. It wasn't something that they could stop.
They had Marc and Brenda visit her and helped her through her transfer. Iris was disappointed that Jessica and Justin didn't come with them, but she understood. It would place them all at risk.
They would have been followed. She missed her sister and brother. Marc and Brenda updated Iris on what was going on at home. Her father is still the old bastard that he was since she was five.
Jessica became pregnant as now has a pup of her own. Iris smirked at Marc as a father. She knew he would be a good dad. Her sister would be a good mother. She was good to Iris so that was never questioned.
Her visions would still come to her in her drawings. She could see the one that she believe that is supposed to be her mate. Iris wanted to go back home. She knew she couldn't until she found her mate. The wolf from her drawings.
"I am sorry Daisy." Iris reached the bottom of the stairs when she stopped in her tracks. Marc and Brenda stood there with smiles on their faces. "Why are you two doing here?" Iris asked as she walked into the kitchen.
Marc smirked as his arms wrapped around Iris, "What? We can't say happy birthday to our sister-in-law." She completely forgot that today she turns eighteen.
She looked up at Marc as she sighed, "You think my mate will find me here?" He shrugged his shoulders, "Not sure. The whole bonding and mating thing is kind of weird."
Brenda gave Iris a hug as she smirked, "We got something for you outside." Iris teared up as she pulled from Brenda, "You didn't have to get me anything." Marc chuckled as they walked Iris to the door, "It not what we got. It who we brought with us."
Iris looked up as she jumped with joy. She ran over to Jessica and Justin when they threw their arms around Iris, "My god, we missed you so much." Iris pulled from them, "Where is Missy? I want to meet her." Jessica bowed her head, "We decided not to bring her just in case. We are taking a big risk coming here." Iris took a deep sighed, "I understand."
Jessica and Justin walked Iris to the school when Amber walked up next to Iris. Iris squealed, "Amber, I want you to meet my sister and brother. Jessica and Justin." Amber chuckled, "So they do exist." Iris waved her hand, "This is my best friend Amber."
"Happy Birthday, Iris." Amber said as she placed her arm around her shoulders. Jessica looked around when she nudged Justin as he cleared his throat, "Iris, I know that you want to spend time with us, but we need to go." Iris teared up as she as she hugged her brother and sister.
"When can I see you again." Iris asked her siblings. Jessica hugged her tight when she whispered, "When the time is right. Stay safe."
"Your brother and sister is weird." Amber said as Iris and Amber walked into the school. Iris shrugged her shoulders, "We are a different breed." If Amber only knew how different breed they was. Iris chuckled mentally as she knew that Amber wouldn't want to be friends.
Iris stopped as her wolf was screaming at her. Her wolf has been pretty quiet throughout the years, but now, she is screaming, "I smell him, Iris. I smell him. Can't you." Amber tilted her head, "Come on, Iris. We are going to be late." Iris pushed her wolf aside, "Stop it. There is no way he is here." Her inner wolf groaned, "You idiot, he is here. Close. Very Close."
Throughout the day Iris mentally argued with her inner wolf. She distracted Iris all day which Iris wished she could mentally slap her in her wolf nose. Not just smack but flick her finger against the nose and tell her no. Down girl.
When Iris started school at the high school, her gym teacher and coach of the track team noticed that she was a fast runner. Iris would mentally joke with her wolf side, "Duh, I am a werewolf, of course I am fast."
Week after school started that year, her gym teacher came up to Iris, "Have you thought about running in track?" Iris looked up into his brown eyes as she shook her head, "No, Mr. Davis. I never thought about." He smirked at her, "Ms. Youngblood, I think it is time you do. You are a force that could bring this team to the next level."
That day she talked to Daisy and Derek about it and they agreed that track would be great for her to allow her wolf side to get her energy out. She needed an outlet. They signed Iris up the next day.
Iris has been unstoppable since. She felt bad for the other runners. Her wolf side had an advantage over the humans. She was fast. At night, Iris would allow her wolf to come out and run the tracks when no one was around.
Amber would cheer from the sideline as she couldn't run. Amber was in a car accident when she first got her license. A drunk driver ran a stop sign. She had a fake leg that she hid from the world. Unless you pay attention to the way she walked, or she told you then you would never know.
At the end of the day, it was time for gym. Iris and Amber's last class of the day then Iris had to get to track meet. Her wolf got louder, "Girl, he is here. I can taste him." Iris rolled her eyes, "Slut." Her wolf chuckled, "You know it."
Iris shook her head as she looked around while she stood into line with the other students in the gym.
Iris tilted her head when she asked, "Where is Amber?" Her wolf shook her head, "I have no clue, Iris. Right now, all I can think about is the smell of our mate."
A loud bang of the door made the class jump when the principle walked in with someone else. Mrs. Stone cleared her throat as Iris's eyes widened.
There is he was.
The man that she been drawing since she was about eight.
The man that haunt her dreams.
He was over six feet, dark hair, and blue eyes. They pierced through her.
His muscles was, her wolf chimed in, "Beautiful, toned, like he can rip us into two."
Iris shook her head, "Shut up."
"Class. Mr. Davis was in an accident. Unfortunately, he isn't doing well, and we had to find a replacement for the year. Let me introduce you all to, Mr. Logan Blue."
Iris's wolf started to howl and bark as Iris was froze when his blue eyes met hers. Mr. Blue took a step back as he narrowed his eyes at her. "That got to be him, Iris."
Her wolf is panting.
Iris rolled her eyes, "It is not him." Her wolf chuckled, "If you say so. I know you feel it, too."
How can it be?
He is like twenty-eight years old.
"Age is just a number when you turn eighteen. You know this. Your mom was ten years younger than father." Iris's wolf reminded her. Iris groaned, "Shut up. You are a slut looking to be out." Her wolf chuckled as she wanted to slap Iris, "It him. I taste him." Mr. Blue tilted his head as he was taking in the amusement. Like he could hear them.
Where is Amber?
Mr. Blue snarled as he walked up and down the line, "I except everyone to be on time every day. I want a line form such as this before the first bell rings. If you are not in your spot by the first bell, then you will have suffer the consequences." The bell went off when Iris growled to herself. Amber is considered late.
This isn't good.
Mr. Blue stopped at Iris as his eyes followed her body. His thick fingers curled into a ball. His muscles tightened as the gym doors opened. Iris's wolf is whistling to his wolf which Iris can smell that he has a wolf inside of him.
Iris didn't think that there was a wolf in these parts. She thought she was the only one here. From the way it looks Mr. Blue is also shocked to see her there.
Mr. Blue snarled as Amber slowly made her way to the line, "Ms. Amber Watson, you are late which means I want fifteen laps around the gym."
Iris lifted her finger when his eyes snapped back at her.
Iris's eyes widened as Mr. Blue stormed up to her as he sniffed her scent into him. He couldn't believe that she is a wolf amongst the humans. How is this possible?
All he could do is smell her wolf as it whistled at him, "Hey there, big boy." His wolf chuckled as he growled, "Hey there." Logan mentally smacked his wolf as Iris stood frozen on his closeness to her.
"You got something to say?" Mr. Blue asked Iris as he snarled his words harshly. She nodded shyly, "Amber can't run fifteen laps."
He looked back at Amber as she stood in fear. Iris could smell her best friend shaking inside. Mr. Blue tilted his head, "Oh, is that so. Please explain to me why not?"
Iris bowed her eyes as she looked through her lids when she whispered know he would hear her, "She has a fake leg."
His eyes widened then he smirked as he backed away, "Then you will do her laps for her. Every time she is late then you will run for her."
Iris walked by Amber when she placed her hand on Amber's shoulder, "I got you." Amber turned to Iris, "It not right." Iris shrugged her shoulders, "I can, handle it."
Iris ran as she fought with her wolf, "He our mate." Iris shook her head, "How can you be sure?" Her wolf chuckled as she threw her claws out, "Hello, I can I smell it. He is ours. Him and all his wildness wolf."
Iris stopped in her tracks when she heard Logan's voice in her head, "I can hear you both. Now, stop it and run." She looked at him as his arms are folded around his chest as she snorted at him.
She went back to running as her wolf chuckled, "Come punish us." Iris snarled, "Christ, Stop it." Iris looked as she jogged passed Logan when he shook his head as he smirked in amusement of her inner wolf.
Logan watched Iris run as he is also fighting with his wolf, "You heard her. Go punish her." He shook his head, "Are you crazy? She can't be my mate. She too young." Logan lifted his eyebrow when he heard Iris's voice in his head, "I am eighteen, jerk." Logan groaned at her, "Run."
She picked her pace when she didn't pay attention to Brittany foot being in the way. Brittany has been a throne in Iris side since freshmen year.
Brittany's boyfriend at the time got caught saying that he would love fuck Iris and that she was most beautiful creature he had seen.
Since then, Brittany has been nothing but a bitch to Iris. Iris tried to tell Brittany that she had nothing to worry about. Iris had no interest in Michael. That still didn't stop the torture over the years.
Iris tripped over her foot when Logan snarled, "Brittany, Get out of my gym now." Brittany smirked as she walked away, "It was getting a bit smelly in here any ways with that dog."
Logan stormed over to Brittany when he got into her face, "Back off, Brittany or you will fail gym and from my understanding you need this credit to graduate in June." His inner wolf growled, "Get her. She doesn't talk about our mate like that. Who does this human thinks she is?" Logan growled mentally, "Shut up."
Brittany rolled her eyes as Iris lifted off the ground when Iris shook her head, "I am fine, Mr. Blue." He snapped his head to Iris, "My office, now. Youngblood."
Iris groaned as her wolf is roaring, "Yes, Yes, Mark me. Mark me." Iris rolled her eyes as she walked to his office, "Shut up, you slut."
The door slammed as Iris jumped without looking knowing that Logan is in the office with her.
He walked up behind her as he took a deep breath in as he was taking in her scent when he snarled, "How is there a wolf with the humans?" Iris tilted her head as his hands went to her hips, "I could ask you the same thing." He shook his head as he turned her towards him, "Is there more of you?"
She shook her head then looked down avoiding eye connect as she wanted to run her hands through his dark thick hair, "I have no clue. As far as I knew, I was the only wolf in the area."
He rolled his eyes as he left go of her then walked over to his desk. His fist hit the desk as he breathed heavily as Iris jumped, "Looks like you are supposed to be my mate on top of that." Iris's wolf howls, "Finally. Take me. Take her." Iris shook her head as Logan lifted his eyebrow, "Ignore her."
Logan shook his head as he sat down and ran his hands down his face, "Fuck. I can't have a student as a mate." Iris shrugged her shoulders as she sat down in front of his desk, "Looks like we don't have a choice."
He snorted as his wolf screams at Iris's wolf, "We will come and get you then claim you as ours." Iris rolled her eyes as her wolf howled, "Please do. Please come and get me, big boy."
Logan sighed as he gripped the pencil on the desk as it cracked into two, "I need you to leave right now Iris." Iris looked up at him as her eyes widened, "You asked me into your office."
He leaned forward as he shook his head, "I know but my wolf is getting dangerously close to being release then he wants to take you and your wolf."
Iris's wolf chuckled, "No complaints here."
Logan groaned as Iris tells her wolf to shut the hell up before it is too late. Iris lifted as she walked to the door when she sighed, "Please, tell me that you are not the coach for track."
Logan sat back in his chair when he groaned, "Why?" Iris shook her head as she opened the door, "You find out in about ten minutes why."
She walked out as Logan tilted his head then looked at the sheet for his track team when he groaned.
His wolf is celebrating, "We get to see that fine ass run again. Woof." Logan rolled his eyes, "Shut up."
Iris got into her stance as she bowed her head down then looked up when she smelled Logan walked up behind her. Her wolf is celebrating, "Yes, he is here. Hey big boy." Iris felt that she needed to get home and talk with Daisy and Derek about this.
What is he doing here?
She heard Logan's voice in her head, "Run, now." She took off fast as he watched her when Brittany walked up to him, "So the hottie teacher is not only my gym teacher but my couch."
Logan rolled his eyes then snapped back to Iris, "What do you want, Brittany?" Brittany fingers slid down his arm, "If you want a real woman, you know where to find me." He snorted at her, "Not going to happen."
She tilted her head to her as Iris stopped in her track when she snapped her head to Logan as he smirked in amusement, "Why not? Come on Logan. You know you want to."
Iris started to storm as Logan cleared his throat. He knew he couldn't allow this go on anymore. Logan knew that this human couldn't know that Iris is his mate. She can't know that they are not human. He knew that Iris could rip her into sheared without a problem. He felt her power just being close to her.
What the hell is he thinking?
Is he sure that she is his mate?
A knock in his head by his wolf, "Yes, stupid. She is your mate. Now protect her."
Logan walked towards Iris as he snarled, "Brittany, you are late, Laps now." Brittany groaned as she went to do the laps when Logan took Iris by her wrist.
He pulled her behind the blenchers, "Are you stupid? You can't let your wolf take over like that."
Iris crossed her arms, "Like what?" He shook his head, "Like you was about to bite off Brittany's head." Iris blushed as her eyes went to the ground as he groaned, "Listen, you need to learn how to control your wolf. Has anyone teach you how do that?"
Iris looked at the ground as a tear fell, "No, I am the only wolf in town that I was aware of." She looked up at him, "My sister-in-law and brother-in-law had tried to help me through the process of shifting. That was all."
Logan groaned as he looked out to the track, "Meet me here at ten tonight." She looked up at him, "Why?"
He shook his head as he snarled, "For training." Iris followed his out from behind the blenchers, "Training?" He nodded his head, "Yes, Youngblood, training. You are going to learn how to control your wolf."
She tilted her head at him, "I will let Daisy and Derek know." Logan tilted his head, "Who are they?" She sighed as they watched Brittany make a fool out of herself tripping over her own feet, "They took care of me since I was ten. They are humans." His hand went through his hair as he sighed, "Don't tell them anything. Don't tell anyone. Just be here at ten."
He walked away from Iris as he growled, "No wonder why she can't control her wolf." His wolf chuckled, "Oh, like you know how to control me." Logan rolled his eyes, "Shut the fuck up, asshole."
