The morning sun painted the room in a soft glow as I heard the insistent ringing of my phone. Blinking away sleep, I opened my eyes and reached for the device. It was my dad calling. With a swift motion, I answered, the anticipation hanging in the air. "Princess," my dad's voice echoed through the line, a subtle tension underlying his words. "Daddy, are you okay?" I asked, concern lacing my voice as I sat up in bed. "Sandra, you have to return home," he said, and a wave of disbelief washed over me. "Dad, what are you saying? Why should I return home?" I replied boldly, though a current of fear hummed beneath the surface. As if on cue, William emerged from the bathroom, towel-drying his wet hair. He raised an eyebrow, silently questioning the conversation. I nodded, conveying the seriousness of the call. "So why's your face like this? Is there some bad news?" William asked, sitting beside me with genuine concern etched on his face. "My dad asked me to return home," I answered, my voice carrying the weight of unexpected news. "Wow," William murmured, absorbing the information. "So why the long face?" he continued, a supportive presence at my side. "I don't want to leave you. Who knows when I'll come back?" I replied, my gaze dropping to my intertwined fingers. William pulled me into a comforting hug, his warmth a reassuring anchor in the face of uncertainty. I couldn't fathom leaving him behind. He was more than a boyfriend; he was a piece of my soul. We had shared three years of laughter, dreams, and growing together. "Come on, babe, you know I can't leave you either. How about we go together?" William suggested his voice a soothing balm. A spark of hope ignited within me. "Are you serious, babe?" I asked, searching his eyes for confirmation. "Of course. We can go together, then we'll return after two days," William proposed, and a genuine smile graced my face. "Thank you, babe," I expressed my gratitude, sealing it with a kiss. The passionate exchange momentarily eased the weight of the unexpected journey. "Now let's go eat. I prepared your favorite," William said, redirecting our focus to the present. Williams's words pulled me out of my thoughts, and I suddenly realized how hungry I was. "That sounds amazing," I said, feeling my stomach rumble. "What did you make?" Williams's smile widened, and he held out his hand to me. "Let's go find out," he said "Aww, babe," I gushed, the affectionate nickname resonating with warmth. He piggybacked me as we strolled out of the room, the familiar gesture As we entered the kitchen, I saw the most delicious-looking meal spread out on the table. "Oh my goodness," I said, my eyes wide. "You went all out!" "I wanted to do something special for you," Williams said, his cheeks turning pink. "I know how much this trip means to you, and I wanted to make sure it started off right." I felt my heart melt, and i wrapped my arms around Williams waist, hugging him tightly. "You're the sweetest, I'm so lucky to have you." I said, my voice was full of emoticon." Williams returned the hug, squeezing me tight. "I'm the lucky one," he said. "Now, let's eat before it gets cold." William set me down at the table, revealing a spread of pancakes. He knew my favorite, a testament to the depth of our connection. The aroma filled the room, and I couldn't help but smile. "You sure know how to get me," I laughed, savoring a bite of the delicious breakfast. "So what time should we leave?" William asked, transitioning back to the practicalities of the impending journey. The prospect of facing the unknown seemed more bearable with him by my side. The question brought me back to the reality of the situation, and I took a deep breath to steady myself. "The flight leaves at 9:00 am, " I said, checking my phone for the exact time. "Which means we need to leave by 7:00 am to make sure we have plenty of time." Williams nodded, a look of determination in his eyes. "We can do this," he said, his voice full of confidence. "And we'll have each other's support along the way." I smiled, feeling reassured by his words. "We've got this," I agreed. "Now, let's eat and get some rest," Williams said, cutting into his pancakes with a fork. "We've got a big day ahead of us." I took a bite of my own pancakes, savoring the warm, fluffy goodness. "Mmmm, these are delicious," I said, a look of bliss on my face. "You're the best chef I know." Williams blushed at the compliment, and he tried to hide his smile behind his napkin. "Oh, stop," he said, his voice teasing. "I'm just a humble pancake maker."I laughed, and the sound filled the room with joy. "Humble or not, these pancakes are out of this world," I said, taking another bite. "You should open your own pancake shop." Williams laughed, shaking his head. "I think I'll stick to being an engineer," he said, taking another bite of his pancakes. "Pancakes are just a hobby." I grinned, taking another bite of my own pancakes. "Well, you're a hobbyist with a gift." Williams smiled at the compliment, his eyes shining with pride. "Thanks," he said, his voice warm. "But let's not forget the real reason we're here. Your trip. Are you nervous about it?" I swallowed a bite of pancakes and thought about the question. "A little," I admitted. "But I'm also excited. It's been a while since I've seen my family." Williams nodded, understanding my mixed emotions. "That's understandable," he said, reaching out and squeezing my hand. "But I know you'll do great." The touch of his hand was reassuring, and you felt a sense of calm wash over you and I gave him a reassuring smile In response, William's smile widened and he gave my hand a gentle squeeze. "I'm glad I could help," he said. "Now, let's finish up these pancakes so we can relax and get ready for tomorrow." I nodded in agreement, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "You're right," I said, feeling my appetite return. "Let's finish these off and then we can relax and enjoy the rest of the evening," I said and we headed to the room
The pilot's voice echoed through the plane and some passengers were making sure all that needed to be done was done. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. We are now taxiing to the runway. Please ensure your seatbelts are securely fastened, your tray tables and seatbacks are in the upright position, and all electronic devices are turned off. Thank you for your attention" Some passengers were busily making sure their seats were in the proper position, while others were pulling out their headphones or putting away their books.
The sound of bags shifting in the overhead bins filled the air, and the plane began to pick up speed as it headed toward the runway. I took a deep breath, preparing myself for takeoff. "Are you okay?"William asked and I gave him a reassuring smile "I'm fine," I said, my voice steady and confident. "I'm just a little nervous about takeoff. But I'll be okay." William gave me a reassuring smile in return, his eyes full of trust and understanding. "You've got this," he said. "Just relax and try to enjoy the view." I nodded, taking his advice to heart. "Okay," I said. "I'm going to try and relax and take in the view." I met William during my last year in college and we started dating since then, even though my parent didn't know about our relationship. he has been my best friend and my companion, I can remember how the ladies crushed over him in college but he isn't that type of guy and I'm so happy about it My mom is always curious about my love life and I'm sure she'll be happy when she meets William "Babe, are you hungry?" William's voice drifted me from my thoughts. I can't believe I've spent almost an hour thinking on the plane. I jumped slightly as I was pulled back to the present moment by William's voice. "I'm sorry, I was lost in thought," I say, feeling a little embarrassed. "And yes, I'm starving. I didn't have time to grab a bite before we left." I look up at him, feeling grateful for his presence. "What about you? Are you hungry?" William's face breaks into a wide grin, and he gives me a playful wink. "I could eat," he says, his voice full of enthusiasm. "I'm in the mood for some airplane food." I can't help but laugh at his enthusiasm, and I reach for the menu in the seat pocket in front of me. "Let's see what they've got," I say, flipping through the pages. "I'm sure there's something on here that will satisfy my hunger." "Oh my goodness, they have everything," Williams says, peering over my shoulder at the menu. "They've got sandwiches, salads, pasta, and even chicken fingers. And they've got a whole page of desserts. How are we ever going to choose?" I chuckle at his reaction, but I can't help but agree with him. The menu is extensive, and it's going to be hard to narrow it down. "Let's take our time and look through it carefully," I say, savoring the moment. "We've got plenty of time until the flight attendants come around." I settle in, browsing the menu and discussing the different options. It's like a little game, trying to figure out which item sounds the most appealing. After a few minutes, William points to a listing on the page. "Ooh, that sounds good," he says, a mischievous grin on his face. "What do you think of the chicken parmesan?" I read over the description and raised my eyebrows in interest. "It does sound pretty tasty," I say, looking up at him. "Do you think we should get that?" "I say we go for it," Williams says with a decisive nod. "And we should get a dessert too. They've got cheesecake, pie, cookies, and even ice cream sundaes. You can't go wrong with ice cream, right?" I'm starting to feel my mouth water at the thought of all the delicious food, and I nod in agreement. "You're right," I say, already imagining the sweet, creamy goodness of the ice cream. "An ice cream sundae sounds perfect." William called the flight attendance, and the flight attendant arrived at our seats, a friendly smile on her face. "Hello, and what can I get for you today?" She asks, pulling out her notepad. "I'll have the chicken parmesan, and he'll have the same," I said, pointing to Williams. "And we'll both have an ice cream sundae for dessert." The flight attendant nods, jotting down our order. "Would you like any drinks to go with that?" he asks. "I'll take a coke," Williams says, and I nodded in agreement. "And I'll have a sprite," I said, turning back to the flight attendant. "And we'll take some extra napkins, please," I added, thinking of the inevitable mess that will come with ice cream sundaes. "Of course," the flight attendant says, writing down our request. "I'll be back shortly with your food and drinks." Williams and I both thank her, and she gives us a polite nod before moving on to the next row of seats. An hour later, the flight attendant returned with our food and drinks, setting everything down on the tray table in front of me. "Here you go," she says, smiling brightly. "I hope you enjoy your meal." "Thank you so much," I say, and William echoes my words of gratitude. I pick up my fork and knife, eager to dig into my chicken parmesan. "This looks amazing," you say, your mouth watering. "Let's dig in." I took my first bite of the chicken parmesan, and it was even better than I could have imagined. The chicken is perfectly cooked, and the sauce is rich and flavorful. I took another bite, savoring every mouthful. I look over at Williams, who is equally enjoying his meal. "I was right," said between bites. "This is amazing." "You were right," Williams agrees, reaching for his drink. "This is some of the best airplane food I've ever had," William said and I laughed loudly After we finished eating It was getting boring, William was already asleep but I wasn't, I couldn't wait for us to arrive in Philadelphia and see Dad and Mom, and most importantly couldn't wait to know the reason Dad called me home urgently.
The announcement of the pilot's voice breaks through my reverie, that was when I realized I have been staring for a long time jotted me out of my completed gaze and I looked up to the window to see the familiar light "We're in our final approach to the airport, so please remain seated and keep your seat belts fastened" My eyes drifted open when I heard the pilot's voice telling us that we were about to land. The announcement from the pilot jolts me out of my contented daze, and i look out the window to see the familiar sight of the airport below.
The wheels of the plane touch down with a gentle thump, and i feel the familiar lurch as the plane slows to a stop. "Well, here we are," I said , my voice tinged with a mix of excitement and trepidation. My heart was pounding in my chest, the adrenaline of the moment coursing through my veins. I could feel a mix of emotions running through me - excitement, nervousness, and a sense of adventure. I unbuckle my seat belt, suddenly feeling restless. I turn to Williams, my eyes wide. "I can't believe we're finally here," i said, unable to contain my emotions. "I'm so nervous, but also so excited." The plane landed, the staircase rolled down for the passengers to come down and we did. My phone rung out loudly and I pulled out my phone from my pocket, the screen lighting up with the name of the caller. My mom's name flashed across the screen, and i quickly answered the call. "Hi, Mom!" you said, your voice full of excitement. "Oh, honey, I'm so happy to hear your voice!" your mom replied, her voice full of emotion. "We can't wait to see you!" "My driver is waiting already,it shouldn't be hard for you to see him" dad said and just immediately I looked around, trying to spot the person my dad was talking about. My eyes landed on an older man holding a piece of paper with my childhood photo on it. As I made my way towards him, i realized that he was the driver your dad had arranged to pick me up. "Hi," I said, approaching the man with a smile. "I'm assuming you're the driver?" The man returned my smile, and his eyes lit up as he recognized na. "Yes, I am," he said. "It's nice to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you." "And meet my boyfriend,Williams"I added and he bowed to Williams "Nice meeting you"he said to William "Thank you for coming to pick me up," I said, my voice was warm. "I really appreciate it." The man gave me a small bow, his face beaming with pride. "It is my pleasure, Miss," he said. "I'm honored to be able to help you. Shall we head to the car?" I nodded, and the man led us to a sleek black sedan parked nearby. He opened the door for me, and I slid into the backseat. As I settled in, I noticed a small vase of fresh flowers on the seat next to me. I reached out and gently touched the vase, admiring the delicate flowers within. "These are beautiful," I said, turning to the driver. "Did you get these?" The driver nodded, his face flushed with pride. "I did, Miss," he said. "I wanted to make sure you had a warm welcome when you arrived. I hope you like them." I couldn't help but smile at his thoughtfulness, touched by his gesture. "I love them," I said sincerely. "Thank you so much." "I will love if I could lodge at a hotel,it wouldn't be nice of me to follow you home like this"William suggested I nodded in agreement, my mind racing with the thought of imposing William on my family. "I think that's a good idea," I said. "I wouldn't want to intrude on your family time." Williams said . "It's no intrusion at all," I said. "I understand if you'd prefer to have your own space. I know how important it is to feel comfortable at home when you're away from home." I let out a sigh of relief, grateful for his understanding. "Thank you for being so considerate," I said. "Please find us a nice and suitable hotel"I said to the driver The driver nodded, already typing away at his phone. "Absolutely, Miss," he said. We headed home after dropping William at the hotel and I could feel my heart The drive home was silent, the weight of my impending visit hanging heavy in the air. As the familiar streets of my hometown came into view, I felt a mixture of emotions - excitement, nervousness, and a tinge of sadness. I looked out the window, memories flooding my mind as I took in the sights of my childhood. The neighborhood I grew up in, the park where I played, the school I attended. It all felt so familiar, and yet so different. Everything looked the same, but it also felt like a million years had passed. The houses that once seemed so huge now looked small and quaint, and the kids I once knew were now grown adults with children of their own. It was as if time had frozen in my absence, but had continued to march forward without me. I felt a pang of sadness at the realization that I had missed so much. "We're here," the driver said, pulling up to my childhood home. You took a deep breath, gathering your courage before getting out of the car. As I stood on the sidewalk, I felt like a child again, my small hand clutching my mother's as I walked up to the front door. I reached out and rang the doorbell, my heart pounding in my chest. I heard footsteps inside, and then the door swung open, revealing my mother's smiling face. "Hello, dear," she said, her voice warm and welcoming. "It's so good to see you." I felt a wave of emotion wash over me as I hugged my mother tight. "I've missed you so much," I said, my voice thick with emotion. My mother held me close, her arms wrapping around me like a warm blanket. "I've missed you too, sweetheart," she said. "It's been far too long." I stood there, soaking up the feeling of being home again. After a moment,I pulled away, looking into my mother's eyes. "I'm so happy to be here," I said, my voice sincere. "I can't wait to catch up and tell you all about my life." My mother smiled, her eyes twinkling. "I can't wait to hear all about it," she said. "But first, let's get...settled in and have some tea." She stepped aside, inviting me into the house. I walked through the door, feeling like I was stepping back in time. The entryway was exactly as I remembered, with the same pictures on the wall and the same familiar smell. It was as if I had never left. My mother led me to the living room, where she has set out a tray of tea and cookies. "Make yourself at home," she said. "I'll be right back."
