Chapter 1 Pilot

The early morning sun cast a warm, golden hue over the towering skyscrapers of Wall Street, casting long shadows on the bustling city streets below. Amidst the throngs of hurried professionals in power suits and polished shoes, there was a figure that stood out-a woman. Amelia Greyson.

She had always known that her path in life would lead her here, to this bustling epicenter of commerce and ambition. From a young age, she had been captivated by the energy of the city, and her resolve to conquer it had never wavered.

Now, dressed in a black peplum gown just above her knees with a Versace designed bag and black stilettos with a gold buckle that exuded both authority and elegance, Amelia navigated the crowded sidewalks with a purposeful stride. Her dark hair, center parted and curly, framed a face marked by determination and intelligence. Today was the day she had been working toward for years.

Hawthorne & Associates. One of the most prestigious law firms in the city, nestled on a high floor of a gleaming glass-and-steel tower. As Amelia stepped into the lobby of the imposing building, she could feel her heart racing. This was the moment she had been waiting for-a chance to prove herself in a world that had been dominated by men for far too long.

Walking in, all Amelia could see were men which validated what she heard about the firm which is that it is run by men only, thank goodness the receptionist was a female, but it didn't make Amelia feel any better because she felt the oozing smell of misogyny and patriarchy all over the office.

The receptionist, a poised woman with an air of authority, greeted her with a warm smile. "Good morning, Ms. Grayson. Mr. Hawthorn is expecting you in his office on the 20th floor." Amelia nodded, a sense of both excitement and thrill coursing through her. She stepped into the elevator, her reflection shimmering in the polished walls, and pressed the button for the 20th floor. As the elevator ascended, she took a moment to gather her thoughts.

Amelia had always been a trailblazer. Growing up in a small town, she had been the first in her family to attend college and later law school. Her journey had been marked by relentless determination, fueled by the desire to prove that a woman could excel in the male-dominated world of corporate law.

When the elevator doors opened, she stepped out into a corridor adorned with framed diplomas and awards, testaments to the firm's legacy. She couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as she walked toward the office of Charles Hawthorne, the formidable founder of the firm.

"Come in," a deep voice called from inside the office.

Amelia pushed open the heavy wooden door, revealing a spacious, meticulously organized office. Charles Hawthorn, a distinguished man in his early sixties with a shock of silver hair and white properly lined beards, sat behind an imposing mahogany desk. His steely blue eyes locked onto Alexandra as she entered.

"Ms. Grayson, please, have a seat," he said, gesturing to a plush leather chair across from him.

She took a deep breath and sat down, maintaining her composure as she met his gaze. "Thank you for seeing me, Mr. Hawthorn."

Charles Hawthorn leaned back in his chair, his fingers steepled as he studied her. "I've heard impressive things about you, Amelia. Your dedication, your intellect, your drive. But I'm a man who believes in results. Why should I hire you, especially when there are twenty-six other attorneys here?"

Amelia didn't hesitate. "Because I bring a perspective that this firm sorely needs. I have a unique ability to see the bigger picture, to think outside the box, and to connect with clients on a personal level. I want to be the advocate who can bridge the gap between this firm and the world outside." And one thing you didn't mention, the twenty-six other lawyers are all men and believe having a woman on the team will be a breath of fresh air not just for the office but also for the clients. You might have thought of hiring a woman but Sir I am Amelia Greyson and no one can play me better than me, I'm not a feminist and I believe in equity over equality so you won't have to worry about talks on women empowerment or the need for more women in the office, I don't plan on bringing such chaos to this place, all I can say is let me show you that hiring me is not just what this company needs but is something your clients need also.

Mr. Hawthorn's gaze remained unyielding, but a flicker of interest appeared in his eyes. "Bold words, Ms. Grayson. But can you deliver on your promises?"

"I intend to prove it, sir," she replied with unwavering determination.

For the next hour, Amelia and Charles Hawthorn discussed her vision for the firm, her plans for client development, and her strategies for fostering a more inclusive work environment. The conversation flowed with an intensity that left Amelia exhilarated yet exhausted.

As she left Hawthorn's office, her head was spinning with possibilities. She knew that her journey to the top of Hawthorn & Associates was far from over, but she had taken the crucial first step. The desire burning within her was not just to succeed but to change the rules of the game.

The partners of the firm, a group of seasoned lawyers who had weathered countless trials, initially underestimated Amelia. They saw her as an anomaly, an ambitious woman in a world where men often dictated the rules. But Amelia was no stranger to adversity. She had honed her skills at Columbia Law School, where she graduated at the top of her class. Her stellar track record, however, wasn't enough to win her the respect she deserved in a male-dominated profession.

As Amelia settled into her office, she cast her eyes upon the framed diploma hanging on the wall, a testament to her unwavering determination. The office was impeccably organized, reflecting her meticulous nature. She knew that to earn the respect of her colleagues, she needed to be flawless in everything she did.

Chapter 2 The journey

At the office Amelia's day was filled with meetings, court appearances, and negotiations. Amelia's courtroom prowess was unmatched, and her colleagues began to realize that her gender was irrelevant to her ability. Slowly, the skepticism faded, replaced by admiration for her legal acumen.

But not everyone was ready to accept Amelia's rise. In a pivotal scene, during a heated partner meeting, John Randall, a senior partner, openly questioned her presence in the firm. "Is Wall Street no place for a woman?" he challenged.

Amelia's response was swift and unyielding. She presented a case she had meticulously prepared, outlining how her contributions had not only equaled but surpassed those of many of her male counterparts. She spoke of the importance of diversity and how her unique perspective added value to the firm.

The partners were silenced, and Amelia's star continued to shine.

Over the following weeks, Amelia delved headfirst into her work. Early mornings and late nights became the norm as she devoured case files, analyzed legal precedents, and prepared meticulously for every meeting. She was determined to be more than just another lawyer at Hawthorn & Associates; she aimed to be the driving force behind change.

One evening, as she was engrossed in reviewing a complex merger deal, her phone buzzed with a text message from her colleague and close friend, Sarah. It read, "Happy hour tonight, Melia? You deserve a break!"

Amelia hesitated for a moment, torn between her work and the desire for some respite. But she knew that building her way to the top meant finding balance and making connections within the firm. She texted back, "Count me in, Sarah. Let's meet at The Barley & Vine at 7."

The Barley & Vine was a popular watering hole among Wall Street lawyers, a place where deals were unofficially sealed over glasses of whiskey, and alliances were forged in the dimly lit corners. It was also a place where Amelia intended to make her presence felt.

That evening, as she walked into the bar, the chatter and laughter of colleagues filled the air. She spotted Sarah at a corner table, waving enthusiastically. Sarah, a brilliant litigator with a sharp wit, had been a source of unwavering support since Amelia's arrival at the firm.

"Melia, you made it!" Sarah exclaimed, pulling Amelia into a warm hug.

They settled into their booth, and over cocktails, they began to unwind. Sarah regaled Amelia with tales of office politics and shared insights about the various partners at the firm. Amelia listened intently, taking mental notes of the dynamics at play. Sarah took a moment and stared at Amelia in awe of her outfit and exclaimed "If I knew u would be smoking hot today, I would have chosen a place with a pool" Melia laughed and wondered if there was anything exciting to see here in her words "Aren't there any hoties on wall street"

Just about that time a breath of fresh air walked in a young dashing group of men on shirts and jeans and while Melia was still staring one caught her eyes and gave her a wink and she blushed.

Sarah was shocked and surprised that Amelia would blush at a guy and even spend 10seconds looking at a guy considering how focused and serious minded she was back when they were in school studying for the bar exams Amelia stayed away from guys and even when she was asked out, she would say she's in a very serious relationship and that relationship is with her dreams, in school she was referred to as Melia the dreamer but she didn't care because her eyes were fixated on something bigger than they could imagine and that was her dream to work in one of the biggest law firms in the city and that dream has been fulfilled.

Sitted there with Melia, Sarah had her eyes on one of the gents there and he also reciprocated the vibe, then the made a weird gesture with their eyes and the next thing she excuses herself to go to the restroom, which just about that time the handsome gent also had to go to the restroom. Melia smiled because she knew how crazy and naughty Sarah was, the only thing she said was please use a condom you know what happened last time.

Rewind to law school, they went to a club after Sarah managed to emotionally blackmail Melia into going and when they get back Sarah told Melia how she hit it off with a couple of guys precisely 4 in one night and Melia was shocked because her friend is busy hitting it off with four guys and she has been a virgin for as long as she can remember. Two weeks gone and Sarah missed her period, she was so scared that she thought she was pregnant. She didn't even want to go for the test she assumed since she missed her period, she had to be pregnant.

Amelia got tired of having to convince her of taking a test and just let her believe what she wanted, but the issue now is she doesn't know who the father is because she hit it off with different guys at the party and she wasn't sure when the child was conceived. So, she mailed baby clothes to the four men she had sex with and in the box was a letter and her photo. In the letter she explained to them that she is pregnant and they are the father.

They all individually reached out to her and then she found out that two were married with kids and didn't want anything jeopardizing their family so they asked her to get rid of the baby, the other one reached out and said he is impotent which means he couldn't be the father so the final one actually paid a visit and told her that he also is married but he doesn't have kids, for 12 years of being married to his wife no kids and he would love it if she could give birth to the child and hand over his custody to him and his wife.

Melia laughed and just couldn't help but say 'You don't know if you are the father' he was puzzled so Sarah had to explain better and he immediately requested a DNA be done with him now. They got in his car and drove to the hospital after which the test result showed she wasn't even pregnant in the first place. He stared at her with tears in his eyes because for the first time in his life ever since he got married, he knew what it felt like to be a father, even if it was a false alarm, it felt really good for him. Sarah scarred she was going to get an earful got a hug and a thank you and he said to her;

'Thank you for making me experience what other fathers feel when told they are going to be

fathers'

Sarah apologized for the false alarm and they parted ways, ever since that day Sarah promised never to be in that situation again instead, she was going to carry condoms in her bag to make sure nothing like this ever happens again. Melia laughed they both hugged and went home.

Fast forward to today while Melia was waiting on Sarah her phone rang and it was a butt dial from Sarah and all she could hear were moans filled with ecstasy and she shouted Sarah!! Sarah shocked because she heard Melia's voice stopped her activity and asked if he heard anything, he said no, so she continued.

As the night progressed, more colleagues joined their gathering. Amelia made sure to engage in every conversation, demonstrating her legal acumen and ability to hold her own in discussions ranging from high-profile cases to the latest stock market trends. She could feel the respect of her peers growing with each exchange.

At the center of the room, the firm's senior partners held court. Charles Hawthorn's booming laughter echoed through the bar as he clinked glasses with his inner circle. Amelia watched them closely, her mind racing with ambition. She knew that to reach the top, she would need allies among the most influential figures in the firm.

Melia got carried away mingling with like minds that she didn't notice Sarah had been gone for thirty minutes, Sarah came back and she gasped for air saying "Thirty minutes of sheer pleasure" Melia exclaimed thirty minutes! All Sarah could do was smile because at that point the only thing in her mind was the long-lasting pleasure, she feels from the sex she had just experienced.

The hours slipped away, and the gathering at The Barley & Vine began to thin out. Amelia, determined to make an impression, approached Charles Hawthorn, who was finishing his last drink.

"Mr. Hawthorn," she began, "I wanted to express my gratitude for the opportunity you've given me. I'm fully committed to making a difference at this firm."

Charles Hawthorn turned to her, his eyes appraising. "Actions speak louder than words, Ms. Grayson."

"I understand that, sir," Amelia replied with unwavering resolve. "And I plan to prove myself through results."

Charles Hawthorn gave her a nod of acknowledgment before excusing himself. Amelia knew that the road ahead was still long and filled with challenges, but she also knew that she had taken a significant step in solidifying her presence in the firm's hierarchy.

Melia also decided to call it a night and asked Sarah that they leave since she had to be at the office in the morning. They got up and while they were leaving Sarah kept on blowing kisses at her prince charming and he did the same, Melia dragged her away and they exited the club.

Just about that time the tall dark handsome gent who gave Melia a stare earlier turned around and didn't see her, filled with disappointment he rushed out to she if he can get her but she has already left then as ever focused as Melia she forgot about him just like that while he hoped for an opportunity to see her again, impossible yes! but he hoped.

As the days turned into weeks, Amelia's dedication and drive were evident to all. She tackled cases with a fervor that left her colleagues in awe and continued to build relationships that would become her foundation. But she was also acutely aware of the obstacles she faced, not just as a young lawyer but as a woman in a male-dominated world.

In the quiet moments of reflection, Amelia often found herself thinking about the journey that had brought her to this point. She remembered the sacrifices, the late nights spent studying, and the countless hours honing her legal skills. She remembered the voices of doubt and skepticism that had only fueled her determination further.

The desire that had burned within her on that first day at Hawthorn.

Chapter 3 The invite

It's another beautiful morning, the sun is out, shinning as bright and visible for all to see just like Amelia's dreams are. She gets dressed and puts on a pink trouser suit with a black tube camisole, make-up on fleek and her hair straight down commanding the elegance and respect that she eludes. She goes down to the garage of her apartment and gets into the official car that was given to her, one of the perks of working at Hawthorn & Associates and she goes off to the office.

The days at Hawthorn & Associates blurred together for Amelia Grayson as she threw herself into her work with unrelenting determination. Early mornings and late nights became her norm as she delved into legal intricacies, strategized, and relentlessly pursued excellence. She was determined to be not just another attorney but a force of change within the firm.

Amelia's office, a sleek and modern space on the 17th floor, was a testament to her meticulous nature. Law books lined the shelves, and neatly organized files occupied her desk. Every inch of her office exuded an air of professionalism and dedication.

One evening, as she was engrossed in reviewing a particularly complex merger agreement, a soft knock on her office door disrupted her concentration. It swung open to reveal Sarah, her friend and confidante.

"Melia, I thought I might find you here," Sarah said with a wry smile. "Still burning the midnight oil, I see."

Amelia looked up, her eyes briefly flickering with exhaustion before she managed a tired grin. "You know me, Sarah. The grind never stops."

Sarah shook her head in amusement. "You're relentless, Melia. But I worry that you're pushing yourself too hard."

Amelia leaned back in her chair her expression more serious now. "I appreciate your concern, but this is what it takes to make it in this world, especially for someone like me. I have to work twice as hard to prove myself."

Sarah sighed, understanding the weight of Amelia's words. As women in a male-dominated industry, they were all too aware of the expectations placed upon them.

"I get it, Melia," Sarah replied. "But remember, you're not alone in this. We're here to support each other."

Amelia nodded, appreciative of the camaraderie. "Thank you, Sarah. Your friendship means the world to me."

Sarah gets a text and is super excited smiling from chin to chin, Melia closed her file and focused on Sarah, once she was done with the text Melia cleared her throat and Sarah smiled and said 'Okay, fine I know what comes after that look' Melia patiently waiting for the gist walks to the fridge in her office and gets a bottle of juice and cookies to serve on a tray so they can be entertained while talking.

Sarah went on about how she's been getting lovely text messages from the gentleman from last night, she said his name is Derek and he's an investment banker working with some of the biggest players in the business of which Hawthorn & Associate is a part of.

She went on and on talking about so much that Melia fell asleep in the middle of the conversation, Sarah smiled looking at Melia sleep because she knows she works harder than anyone so she deserves a break.

She woke her up and they both packed up and left Melia's office the hugged at the entrance, bid each other fell well, got into their cars and went to their respective homes.

Over the following weeks, the same old routine for Amelia, lots and lots of paper work, cases won and each day she keeps climbing the ladder one step at a time, but as always there will be people who can't stand to see her succeed because of their misogynistic mentality, they feel bringing a female lawyer into the sacred company of males was just not right, in the end all they can do is lament while Amelia keeps on closing deals for the firm, She continued to excel in her work, earning the respect and admiration some of her colleagues.

She was often the first to arrive at the office and the last to leave, tirelessly taking on challenging cases and offering innovative solutions. Her dedication was undeniable, and it didn't go unnoticed.

One crisp autumn evening, as the sun dipped below the New York skyline, Amelia received an email notification. It was an invitation to a gala event hosted by Hawthorn & Associates, an exclusive affair that would be attended by influential figures in the legal and financial world. Amelia knew that this was an opportunity she couldn't afford to miss.

So, she called her lifeline Sarah and, in a jiffy, Sarah came to Amelia's house with a designer who brought five of his best designs and a make-up artist to add the finishing touches with her look. After trying on all the outfits Amelia finally found the one, the outfit with a statement and she said yes!! this is it she did her make-up accordingly and her gorgeously glittering silver accessories.

The night of the gala arrived, and Amelia donned a stunning emerald-green long gown with a front slit with a buckle strap silver glittering stiletto that accentuated her elegance, sexiness and confidence.

She had spent hours perfecting her appearance, wanting to make a lasting impression on the firm's partners and clients who would be in attendance.

As she entered the lavish ballroom of a prestigious hotel, the opulence of the event took her breath away. Chandeliers cast a warm glow over the room, and the soft strains of a string quartet filled the air.

The guests, dressed in their finest attire, mingled and exchanged business cards, their conversations a delicate dance of ambition and opportunity.

Amelia navigated the room with grace, introducing herself to partners and clients alike. She spoke passionately about her work and her vision for the firm, leaving a trail of intrigued and impressed individuals in her wake.

At the center of the room, Charles Hawthorn held court, surrounded by a circle of influential figures. Amelia watched him closely, her determination to make her mark intensifying. She knew that catching his attention at this event could be a turning point in her career.

As the evening progressed, Amelia found herself engaged in a conversation with Daniel Reynolds, a charismatic hedge fund manager and one of Hawthorn & Associates' high-profile clients. He was tall and impeccably dressed, exuding a confidence that matched hers.

Their conversation flowed effortlessly from mergers and acquisitions to personal interests and shared ambitions. Amelia was captivated by Daniel's intellect and charm, and he, in turn, was intrigued by her passion and determination.
