LUNA'S RETRIBUTION

"Don't worry dad, once we are through with the wedding, I will seek out my fated mate and leave Malina, while still being the alpha of the pack", I over heard, making me jump out of bed and screamed , oh it was just a dream. Damn it felt so real.

"Wake up! wake up!! ", a familiar voice called.

Opening my eyes, Sophia my best friend was standing next to me with a worried look on her face.

"Why are you sweating and looking so frightened" she asked?

"I just had a dream inside a dream, I saw Kane whispering to his father that once the wedding is over, he would leave me and seek out his fated mate, that all he wanted was to claim the alpha position". I said shakingly

"Hey, don't be nervous, its just your mind scaring you with all this crazy possibilities, don't worry it will all be okay" Sophia said for the fiftieth time.

Everything is going to be fine, i just need to calm down, I've waited for this day my whole life. Whatever I'm feeling is just my nerve working me up because of the wedding. I repeated the words in my head.

"I know Sophia, it just feels like something bad is going to happen", I said while thinking about the dream and looking at the mirror.

Sitting In front of me was an elegant lady, dressed in royal blue bridal for her wedding, her hair in shape of flowers and held with golden pin with light makeup to highlight her features.

Her Green eyes were enchanting today as they held unlimited excitement, though it was a memorable today for this young lady, why do I see terror in her eye's, I thought as I touched my face.

"Don't touch your face" Sophia said, faking being angry.

Maybe Sophia is right, I'm over thinking everything, I thought before standing up.

Retouching my lips one last time, I looked at the mirror and smiled graciously.

"Miss Malina, are you ready to go, everyone is waiting downstairs" , making Sophia to nod.

"She will be down in a moment, you can leave now"

Looking at sophia's face and smiling sheepishly so as not to incur her wrath, we both exit the dressing room.

It was a twenty minute journey to the wedding arena and I smiled thinking of how I met Kane and how far we both have come.

Kane and I aren't fated mate but chosen mate and our love is very real. We weren't in love at first but as time went by it just happened.

When Kane's pack went under attack and had little resources to survive with, they had to flee to our pack, The Crescent moon pack, to save their live, and I on the other hand was more than surprised to find out my father and Kane's father were best-friends.

As time went by, the friendship between I and Kane turned into love. We attended the same school and spent almost all time together, when we talked to our parent about it, they made sign an agreement to be each other chosen mate and not to betray each other when we found our fated mate.

It was a serious discussion and decision but everyone was okay with it.

I am the only child of my parent, Alpha and Luna McCall.

Even though the blood of an alpha runs through me, I lack the self confidence to always defend myself, which made my father decide that once I'm married, Kane gets to rule the pack so as to keep me from harms way.

It was obviously a gender based decision, I mean once I take control, I will have tons of werewolves to protect me, but I didn't mind, whatever is mine is also Kane's.

A pack under the rule of two alphas is bound to bloom and we both showed our capabilities throughout the years, Kane was the muscle and I was the brain.

We should have gotten married a long time ago but my father wanted me to finish my education and graduate before marriage.

He didn't want to burden me with Luna duties and thus even after his demise, I waited to graduate before getting married.

After years of dating, I can't help but smile to be able to see this day.

Of course, this is just the beginning of a new journey, I can't wait to see how far I and Kane would go and how big and prosperous our pack would be, damn I'm shaking with excitement.

"Hey you, Relax, I will tell you when we reach there" Sophia said with a grumpy face.

"Is Kane's father already there" I asked and sophia replied with a hummed reply.

My mom and dad died in a rogue attack at different time and since I didn't have anyone, Kane's father volunteered to walk me down the aisle.

Getting to the venue, I smiled looking at Kane's father and noticed a slight tears he was trying to hide from me.

"Dad", I whispered from behind him and he turned around to look at me.

"Oh, my dear, you look so gorgeous" he said.

"Thank you dad, but you are an alpha, it won't sit well when other member of the pack sees you crying.

"I know, sweet heart, I just miss your parent and I wish they were here to see you the kind of woman you have become, I believe and I know you would be a better Luna" Dad said and I smiled weakly.

They would have been happy if they were here, they usually talk about it.

"Alpha Ryker, I think its best if you don't make Malina sad on a day like this" Sophia chipped in.

"I'm sorry mom", dad joked around with sophia and she hoffed before walking towards me, making me laugh.

After sophia's parent died in a rogue attack, my family took her in. Although who would have thought my parent would be killed by rogue, making both of us orphans.

I grabbed Kane's father arms and sophia walked behind me and held my long dress.

Walking towards the altar, my eyes met with that of Kane's and I blushed.

Once we reached the altar, Kane's father handed my hand to Kane and he smiled.

"Don't worry dad, I will take care of her, perfectly". Kane said, making me smile.

Once on the stage, I stood face to face with Kane and we said our vows before the elder marked us as husband and wife.

"Since you both are chosen and not fated mate, you have to seal your vows by marking each other. It will be a representation of your unending love" the elder said, and I don't know if I was been paranoid or nervous but for a slight moment I noticed Kane was being hesitant.

"Hey, if you don't feel like doing something like that in public, we can do that later when we get home", I suggested so as not to rush it and make him uncomfortable.

Taking my hand, he tilted my neck making both of us in perfect angle as we both sank our teeth into each other flesh, making everyone howl for joy.

"You have such a beautiful mark and you scent really nice" Kane commented.

"Of course, it was given to me by my love", i said before taking the mirror from sophia to view my mark.

"Its beautiful right", sophia asked.

"Of course" I said but felt this weird feeling that something isn't right. It felt like his wolf wasn't there or not interested in my wolf at all.

"Hey Malina, what you thinking about", Kane called from behind while using his hands to touch my neck.

"Nothing much, just thinking of how my night would go after the wedding", I winked at him and he laughed awkwardly which made me squint my brows even more.

"Why, you're not excited" I asked.

"Don't be like that, let's attend to the guest, Kane said and not giving me a direct answer and then left me standing there alone.

"Malina", sophia called, "Let's go change this dress, its way to heavy for this evening party and we both know you need that strength for what's going to happen" she said with a nasty look on her face.

"You are such a naughty girl Sophia" I said.

"I'm naughty, well the marks on Kane tomorrow will tell us who's more naughty" she said and I blushed even more.

"Are you nervous, Don't tell me you are nervous malina", sophia asked and I glared at her.

"What!, even a nun can tell what naughty thought are going through your head".

"Sophia Hale, if you don't get out of your friends room this moment, I will make sure you won't be able to walk for a week" I heard Liam called, Sophia mate and sophia was already blushing.

"You couldn't send me off, so you called Liam". Sophia said.

"Well you left me no choice", I said with a smirk on my face.

I sighed loudly now that sophia had left and I could help but feel awfully weird now that I was alone.

Kane hasn't returned home yet and he kept quite a good distance from me the whole evening.

"Hey Ashley, what happened, you've been awfully quiet", I asked but all I got from her was a whimper.

"At least talk to me Ashley, let me know what's wrong", I asked and she just sighed.

'I felt something during the wedding, he's wolf is gone Malina, I couldn't feel his presence', she said.

"Wait, that's impossible are you saying"...

'Yes Malina, they blocked us already' Ashley chipped in.

"That's a lie Ashley, its impossible for them to block us" I argued.

'Well, hello genius Luna, need I remind you that both you and Kane are not fated but chosen, so yes its possible for them to block us'. Ashley said.

"Come in", a knock on the door brought me back to reality, it was Kane and he just stood there with this awkward look on his face making me squint my brows.

I was hoping for him to come hug me like he always does, but to my surprise he didn't and just then a young lady walked into the room.

Wait. A stranger?

"Who are you, Im sure you don't work here and even if you are new, you don't have the right to enter our room, who do you work for, I demand an answer this minute" I asked with fury in my eyes and tone.

"Can't you speak, let me call the head maid, even if you are a maid, you don't have the right to enter this room"

"She's not a maid" Kane cut me off.

He didn't seem pleased that I called her a maid and the way I reacted.

"What do you mean she's not a maid, is she your distant sister that I dont know about? or someone in need of our help, Kane tan to me" I lamented, trying to understand the situation.

I walked forward towards Kane, trying to talk to him In a calm way but instead the girl hid behind him, like I was about to kill her, why is she scared of me.., I thought to my self.

"She's not a maid, neither is she a distant sister or friend, Malina". Kane spoke with hatred and hesitation in his eyes.

The look he has on him now is the same he had at the wedding, why is he behaving like this after our wedding, maybe I've offended him without knowledge of it.

"She's my mate", Kane chipped in between my thought, making my nightmare a reality.

Standing helplessly after hearing Kane uttered the words I didn't want to hear, the lady grabbed his arm, confirming he wasn't joking around.

"What do you mean, she's your mate Kane", repeating the same words he said, I felt the ground beneath my feet shake and I felt myself sinking into an endless pit.

"So you found your mate, now what" I said whilst forcing myself to control myself, my emotions and my raging wolf.

"Be calm Malina, we can talk this through as adult" Kane said, he's voice still as demure as ever but how does he expect me to be calm after what he just did to me.

For years, I waited for this day, proving to my self and Kane that I am worthy of being the luna to stay by his side and lead this pack and now he brings his mate, making me look stupid and useless and he expect me to be calm.

"Well even bringing here doesn't change any thing, we already signed the chosen mate papers and even though my parent are dead now, they witnessed it, so you can't break our marriage off". I said to Kane, with some part of me happy that I still won this little mate game.

"Well I can't reject her Malina". Kane said and gritted his teeth. I looked at him with pain in my eyes while my heart started beating so fast.

"What the hell are you talking about, we signed a contract, bot to go after our fated mate when we found them, Reject her this instant". I growled at him.

"Malina dont you dare growl at me or talk to me In that tone, I am still your husband and the rightful alpha of this pack". Kane stated and my heart dropped deep Into an endless pit.

"Oh Dear, dont be mean to her, she's just being emotional and can't handle this new change". The lady said while placing her hand on his chest to calm him down.

"Look at her Malina, this is what a fated mate can do, she can feel my pain, even calm me down when I'm raging with anger, something you would never be able to do," Kane said and every word he uttered broke me in a million pieces.

"You would never understand go I feel, you don't even have a mate of yours to begin with", he said then pulled the lady closer to him and kissed her passionately before me, bringing me down to my knees.

"Everyone should be in the pack hall in five minutes", I growled through the mind link and noticed the look in Kane eyes change.

"Malina, how dare you involve the pack, this is a matter between both of us and can be resolved between us" Kane said with his eyes widened

"Definitely everyone will be a part of this, and you are the alpha, are you scared of what the pack who'd say" I said before walking out.

Getting to the hall and seeing the commotion i gulped a bit, though I acted strong, my legs were still shaking. I didn't know this is what emotional pain felt like, it was as if my heart was been stabbed repeatedly with every passing minute's.

Wiping the tears of my face I walked to the stage of the hall to announce a sudden meeting.

"Malina, why did you call a sudden meeting by tgis time of the day, are we under attack from the rogues" A familiar voice I recognize, it was Kane's father, asking me a question with a knowing look as to why the sudden meeting is being held.

"Your Alpha, has something to say to the pack; Alpha Kane", I said and he looked at me with darkness In his eyes while protecting his mate.

"I am sorry, I know I should have informed the pack about this earlier but I didn't so as to not ruin this special day for Luna Malina but I have no intention of leaving her, this I have told her but she chose to make a fuss out of this matter" he said.

Looking at the celling, I tried to control the ugre of not killing him where he stood, but I Knew deep down that he would reap me to shreds.

"Alpha Kane, what is the matter", Liam who is my beta asked to keep the crowd from endless chitchat.

"I have found my mate, my fated mate", he sighed and everyone gasped and turned to me, expecting some kind of reaction.

"I don't see why this should be a problem, according to the agreement, you would reject your mate, don't stress this matter to far for your self and the Luna", Sophia said and kane glared at her.

"I can't reject her" kane said and once again everyone looked at me.

"Can I know why you can't reject her, you didn't hesitate to sign the agreement before my parent, the pack and your parent and where did you meet this mate of yours, I'd like to know" I asked and kane looked away.

"Its been a week since I've found her in the southern border, beaten up almost to the point of death, she has suffered too much, if I had left her all because of a silly agreement, she would have been dead". Kane lamented, trying to justify what he did.

"She would have died, what about me, all those years of hard work and dedication, is it all a joke to you". I asked but kane looked away.

"So now what, both of you took your vows earlier today, are you planning to reject our luna" Liam asked with anger in his eyes.

"That wont be the case, Luna Malina will remain the rightful Luna to the pack and my wife but i won't reject my mate, my wolf wants her and if im to reject her now it will leave him heart broken; do you guys think a broken alpha can lead a pack well" he said and the more he spoke, the more the others reasoned with him and the more it brought tears to my face.

"Im sorry Malina, I know I've wrong you but there's nothing I can do in this matter" kane said and growled towards him as he walked closer making him move back.

"Luna Malina, I know my appearance right now has put a hindrance in your life but believe my mate, Alpha Kane, that both of us can't do without each other" Kane's mate said with a funny tone.

"Well if you won't go with the agreement, i guess everyone gets what belongs to them, the way it suppose to be" I said with determination in my eyes.

"You wouldn't dare Malina" Kane responded aggressively knowing what's at stake.

"Dont test me Kane, I've been with you for years and I know you, you may be the muscle and I the brain but I can still defeat you on any ground" I snarled back at him.

"Stop this, dont fight my mate, i thought you Luna Malina was a sensible person but it turns out you are not, it seems letting someone as weak as me be happy is not something you are capable of". she said but what troubled me was my pack members who were listening to her nonsense chatter and now supporting her.

Are they actually doing this to me, after a I've do e for them, are they blaming me for all this problem going on now.

"I can't let this happen, i don't want my mate to lose his position because of him and I dont want him to reject me and sincehe cant do both id rather die now than die as a rejected mate," Kane's mate said and before anyone could react she pulled out a dagger and slit her wrist, making every one shocked.

"Allison", Kane growled in distress before picking her in his arm and rushing her to the packs clinic.

Pain, Humiliation, Helplessness.

I felt all of this as I ran through the forest trying to ease up all this painful emotions in me, I've never been so lost and helpless in my life. It's like I've offended the moon goddess without knowing. I've lost my title as luna, my father, my mother and now the only person I long for and need right now is bot here with me.

"Malina, where are you and what are you doing, you've left us for more than two hours without saying anything anyways Allison has regained consciousness and okay" sophia spoke through the mind link sounding worried.

Without a second thought, I dashed to the hospital hoping to see Kane. Getting there I was discouraged to not see Kane there.

However I didn't have to wait too long before the devil showed her self.

"Well if it isn't Luna Malina who was rejected, oh my bad, last I checked, the alpha, my alpha chose me, making me the Luna of this pack" she said with a sneaky smirk on her face.

"Why are you doing this?, what will you gain from watching a fellow wolf suffer?" I asked as tears rolled down my cheeks.

I tried reasoning with her and it was a sick move, reasoning with the person that took my happiness away. At this point I wished my parent were still here, I would have never stoop so low to reason with the likes of her.

"Why are you behaving like this Luna Malina, I know you think I came between you and your mate, but aren't you the one in the wrong here?, I mean I'm his fated mate, I'm suppose to be with him till death do us apart. You were the one who came between us, the third person, the house wrecker" she said and crystal growled wanting to tear her apart as every word she uttered felt like a slap to my face.

"How dare you speak to me in that manner?". I growled at her.

"Why are you acting like this Luna Malina, you are scaring me, I'm sure my mate, the alpha won't like this and you might be humiliated In front of the pack". she said in a sneaky tone and before I knew what was happening she pulled off the bandages on her wrist, making me and the others who were watching surprised.

"Luna Malina why did you do this to me, I know you are angry but i wanted to die but it failed. Please for the sake of the alpha don't do this, killing me is better than this torture", Allison fell to her knees and hit her head on a chair before going down to the ground, making me look at her in horror.

Why is she doing all this, is the wound that deep to make her go mad--

My thought were Interrupted when Kane opened the door with a loud bang.

"Allison". Kane shouted aloud.

"She did it" Allison accused me.

Before I could defend my self before kane...

"Malina McCall, you have crossed the line", Kane growled out.

"Kane listen to me, I swear I didn't do it, I didnt touch her, she's clearly framing me and she's not who she proves to be, she acts like an omega but her aura is clearly different, just lis-

"Oh stop with your story, I knew you were planning something but I didn't know you would stop so low as to try to kill her Malina" Kane said with anger In his eyes.

Grabbing my hands and dragging me to the hall where everyone has been for a while and throwing me in the middle, making me snarl and everyone moving away.

"Your lowly Luna crossed the line today and attacked a fellow pack member" Kane announced to the pack members, "I'm sure you all know the punishment for attacking a fellow pack member". Kane said and I froze remembering the law.

"GUARDS, surround her, so she doesn't escape and let this be a lesson to everyone, especially those who are close to me that you can't escape punishment when you cross the line". Kane said with his voice void of emotion.

Punishment, what did I ever do to kane to make his heart this cold all of a sudden.

"I just refuse to reject my mate and I don't see why she's making a fuss out of it. Luna Malina tried to kill the alpha's mate today and according to the law you should be beheaded but since you are my wife, I will let you off with thirty strokes of whip, so you don't forget this day" Kane said with his eyes cold.

This was my pack and everyone just accepted all the trash he was saying like they were under some kind of compulsion.

"What do you mean by all you just said, 'she's making a fuss', she's clearly the rightful leader of this pack and you decided to go against the agreement like it was nothing, how are we sure it wasn't you and your family that conspired to steal that position". It was a familiar voice, it was Liam, Sophia's mate.

"Liam, I don't care if you are very close to the McCall family but you talk to me in that tone again, I won't hesitate before I snap your neck and we both know you don't want to leave your pregnant wife without a mate". Kane threatened.

"Liam that's enough from you". I said to Liam.

This man is someone I truly love and would have forgiven despite everything but he has crossed the line the moment he threatened Liam.

Everyone looked at me expecting an answer to all that has been happening.

"What do you think". I asked ashley.

'You know me and you know we have never bowed to anyone, especially one who just betrayed our trust' Ashley spoke with pride.

"I, Malina McCall, daughter of Alpha and Luna McCall has never bowed to anyone and will never bow to anyone especially when I never wronged them, make the strokes sixty". I said preparing myself for what is to come.

"Malina dont be too hard on your self, please" Sophia said through the mind link.

"Don't worry about me Sophie, I promise to come out fine". I said, which was a lie, sixty strokes isn't something light even for my wolf.

"It seems you dont know the gravity of what you have done today" Kane growled out, "Guards lace the whip with silver, so she will remember for eternity not to mess with me again" Kane said.

Even my wolf won't heal easily from sixty strokes and now kane is lacing it with silver, if it doesn't kill me, it will definitely leave scars.

"Start" Kane growled out.

"One", the guard shouted, I growled, I never knew silver hurt this much.

The countdown continued and I felt myself getting weaker and weaker, I could hear Sophia screaming in Liam's arm's and I wished I had a mate who would save me at this point.

"Sixty", the guard announced and I just dropped to the ground, acting tough was never my strong suit but I had to prove that I was a worthy Luna.

"Its about to rain, go throw her In the forest of doom by the time she gains consciousness, I'm pretty sure she would have learned her lesson". Kane said.
