The unclean epoxied wood floor was where Emily and I were dancing, quite close to one another and entirely unaware of everyone else. Whoever refused to dance with us or buy us drinks, that is.
Since this is my first time out, I have a terrible feeling that clubbing will turn into a major addiction. I found something really endearing about the carefree aspect of grinding on strangers and downing fruity cocktails whose names I can't recall. A random dark-haired man I had been dancing with recently said, "Let's get another drink," grinning at me. I hesitantly nodded as I looked at Emily, who compelled me to follow him right away. Once more, what was his name? I'm certain that it begins with a B. Brian, Brandon, and Bradley It's Owen, he said, looking at me with eyes the color of the Hulk's skin and observing my obvious bewilderment. Close enough are D and B.
"I know," I chuckled in a drunken haze, putting my pale palm in his and weakly grinning at him while staring at the sweat beads on his olive skin. My attention eventually went to the front of the room in an effort to avoid tripping over anything or anyone, but someone unexpected attracted my attention right away.
A white light appeared to be around the man who was standing a few feet in front of me. He had this distinct aura about him. His square jaw, high cheekbones, and chocolate brown hair were perfectly cut around his round face. I was now being held by his eyes, which were the most opulent shade of brown. My breathing had suddenly become erratic and heightened. I broke up my eye contact with the attractive stranger after what felt like hours. His tight shirt, which was tightly fitted to his slim, muscular frame, accentuated his well-defined abdomen as his biceps tore into the material. His brown complexion almost made me drool as it appeared to glisten in the harsh lighting. He was flawless.
I muttered "Mate" as my wolf was about to burst out to meet his.
"What?" I became aware that Owen was still there when he questioned me. He immediately lost his appeal after meeting my beautiful mate; after all, he was only a person. As he quickly inspected my body, Owen's face had a look of uncertainty.
His voice greeted me with, "Hello. Without giving Owen another glance, my blue pool eagerly swam toward my mate's. He spoke with a voice that was both delicate and deep. I inhaled his aroma, which was woodsy and manly, and it immediately caused my core to burn with yearning.
I anxiously chomped on my lower lip and mumbled, "H-hi. People sometimes talk about having butterflies in their bellies when they are frightened, but for me, this feeling was actually my agitated wolf writhing around and playfully chewing.
My knees started to wobble, making me feel like I was about to fall down, and he said, "I'm Morgan," holding out his hand. Gulping, I locked my legs to give my body much-needed support. His voice kept repeating in my thoughts, keeping my wolf and I on alert, and my entire body felt like it was made of jelly.
As our flesh connected, I shook his hand and said, "Nancy. Sparks raced through my body. Small electric shocks that zipped against my skin gave me the impression that they were warming me up before taking control of me. I focused my eyes on his again, noticing the golden flecks that I could not see from a distance and wondering if he experienced the same magnetic shocks. He did, in fact, sense the joining of our wolves, as evidenced by the little twitch of his silky lips.
Also this? As he looked over his rivals, his head nodded to Owen, where it was clear that he was jealous.
I laughed freely and honestly, saying, "I don't remember. When I heard Owen scoff and vanish from my side, Morgan immediately burst out laughing, totally drowning out the music. From inside, my wolf howled, letting me know she was enjoying the sound of Morgan's ecstasy.
"Well, Nancy, why don't you join me for a drink since you seem to be by yourself? He indicated a vacant area on the bar's side with a quiet purr. My hand was still in his when I realized it, but he didn't seem to bother as he pulled me along with him. I nodded. A straightforward act like holding hands offered the wolves such protection. The way things operated in the wolf world was amusing; everything was just different. It wasn't like dating in the human world, where you first get to know someone before developing a romantic relationship. With friends, your guard immediately drops since you know you'll end up together. You feel like you've known your chosen one forever after just five minutes together.
As he pulled me into the booth with him, I mumbled absentmindedly, "I never thought I would meet you here. As soon as we met, I could sense an alluring heat emanating from him, luring me in closer so I could feel the entrancing power he already possessed over me.
He moved toward me, seemingly reading my thoughts, and was just interested in having our bodies collide. "I didn't either. You've previously been here. My head was overwhelmed with Morgan's silky voice as I tried not to leap into his bones at this very moment.
No, I said sheepishly, this was my first time at this club or any club. The tiny gesture managed to temporarily soothe both of our wolves. My wolf, who was now enveloped in tranquility, put her head down in satisfaction, simply wanting to be near her chosen one.
You seemed to be having fun, he said, showing me two rows of pearly white teeth with a playful grin. Even if he tried to hide it with a glossy stare, the inquiring orbs' envious expression was clearly visible.
I mumbled, "Forget them," remembering all the strange boys I had been swooning over just before I met him. The thought of Morgan made my stomach churn a little. I didn't want Morgan to believe that I was a different kind of girl than I actually am.
He smirked devilishly while saying, "Forgotten," which made my heart sing with joy. He continued, sliding his palm up and down the side of my leg.
"You're very pretty, Nancy." His words made me feel as though I would melt into a puddle on the floor as honesty gushed from his soul.
He complimented me when my cheeks were blushing and getting hot. "I'm grateful, Morgan."
My skin began to feel hotter, and I noticed that my normally fair cheeks had developed an unsightly scarlet, which caused me to falter.
I averted my sight from the people in front of us, concentrating on the bartender who was pushing drinks over the counter, feeling anxious about even trusting the words to make it from my brain to my mouth without me seeming like a total fool.
"I'm beautiful?" His voice echoed throughout the little booth as he laughed once more. He grinned, grabbed my thigh, pulled me a little bit closer, and I felt my breath catch in my throat.
"Why thank you? I credit my father for my Puerto Rican ethnicity," he said. More sparks began to pulse through my body as our knees softly brushed, signaling the start of the mating process.
He studied me with a gentle gaze as his ear-to-ear smile expanded. I fake pouted, "Don't make fun of me," which made him run his palm up my side and under my chin. My eyes again connected with his as he gradually rotated my jaw, rendering both of us speechless for a brief period due to the already present intensity of the love between our wolves.
I'm sorry, but you're really simple to manipulate. I scoffed at Morgan's grin, and we both laughed simultaneously.
He suddenly murmured, leaping from his private seat, I have to go. His expression darkened as he looked around the room; his shoulders were spread and ready to fight, and his wolf was on high alert.
"Now?" He nodded slowly, and I yelled a little. Who just stands up and walks away in the middle of a conversation?
I blabbed! "Here,' taking my phone out of my bra, which causes his eyes to widen and his attention to my chest. As I handed the phone to him, I said, as a matter of fact, "Dresses don't have pockets." Don't judge.
He resisted speaking the thoughts I knew he wanted to express by rocking his head.
Hey, I wasn't going to let my friend leave without giving me a way to get in touch with him. He quickly wrote his phone number on mine before handing it back.
I apologize for cutting this short. I nodded in agreement as he explained, "Emergency pack business," in a hazy manner that only another wolf could understand. "Make sure to give me a call, " He insisted cutely" turning a faint pink tint on his face as if aware that he was sounding frantic. Tomorrow, or even tonight.
"Okay," I said as he gave me a gentle kiss on the cheek, pausing for a moment to feel my skin and inhale my aroma. My wolf and I wanted more as he withdrew, wanting to entice him back and press my lips against his. We were both caught up in the thrill of our meeting and thought we were on top of the world as we stood there, parting after getting to know one another for a while.
I stood in the corner, watching Morgan's powerful, robust back move through the club before he vanished.
I thought about running after him, but I didn't want to be seen off as an over dependent. Besides, he claimed there was an emergency, so I didn't need to bother him.
Although I knew we would soon be seeing each other, I sighed and wished I had more time to spend with him right now.
I was horrified when a male voice calling out "Hey" came from behind me. I turned around to see a gigantic figure standing in front of me.
Despite the fact that I'm 5'4 feet tall, he had at least a foot on me, if not more. His dirty blonde gave him a carefree appearance, clinging to his forehead and bringing out the color of his turquoise eyes.
You're aware of Morgan? I nodded as he asked me while ominously glancing up at the trail where Morgan had left. Simply because of the way he was built-muscles on top of muscles-and the assuredness with which he exuded, I knew he wasn't just a wolf but an Alpha.
"I'm Anderson," he said, refusing to shake hands with me and introduced himself in the same manner as Morgan. As I loo at him closely, I could see that he's had a few days worth of facial stubble, which finished his scruffy appearance and gave him a bad boy vibe.
He sighed in exasperation when I responded coldly and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Nancy," he said.
Normally, I wouldn't do this, but since Morgan is my Beta, I can be lenient with him.
I suppose I can take you to our house so you can get to know each other more. He's supposed to be working on some pack business, but because he just met his mate, I guess I may, he graciously said, a charming smile forming on his lips, which caused me to beam joyously at his offer.
Perhaps I was mistaken the entire time, and my fears of breaking into the club were unjustified. This night actually keeps getting better and better, and I can now thank Anderson for that.
I guess the adage "don't judge a book by its cover" holds true. "
Really?
Are you certain?
He bowed his head, moved past me, and signaled me to follow him as I jumped up and down in excitement. I did exactly that, leaping up until I was directly behind him, his unusual size protecting my body as we made our way through the crowd of people.
I'm going to my mate's pack house after we meet. Will you be okay? Through our mental connection, I asked Emily in the hopes that she would let me go.
'Yes! Go! I yelled back, "Have fun, you naughty girl; tomorrow I want details," which made me lightheartedly chuckle as I looked over to where she had been dancing before I noticed her lips pressed to a handsome human.
Anderson told me, he would do the same for me, giving me the impression that he and Morgan were good friends. He followed through a back door and said, "My car is out here," and I followed him blindly, struggling to control my enthusiasm at finally meeting Morgan. I've always heard that finding your soul mate is a wonderful experience that you'll never forget, and that once you do, you can't stop thinking about them. The love-struck stories have never made complete sense to me until today. After only briefly getting to know Morgan, I found that I yearned to spend every waking moment with him. I yearned to look into his honeyed eyes and feel the burning sensation of his skin brushing against mine. I yearned to feel his lips on mine and needed to hear him chuckle.
Although a dark alleyway was all that met me when Anderson unlocked the steel door, it snapped me out of my mental adulation of Morgan. I would not have been able to see the backstreet if not for the lone yellow light over the doorway. He turned to face me as the heavy door banged shut behind us. His once bright eyes had become black, giving him a terrifying demonic look that made me shudders.
"What are you doing Anderson? I stumbled helplessly as he inched closer since there was nothing except two brick walls around me and closing in on me. I took a step back in an effort to put some distance between us, and my bottom side landed on the chilly metal door.
He approached slowly, each second seeming to last for minutes. I was so terrified by his guttural chuckle that my entire body trembled. He huskily cocked his head sideways and said, "Paying Morgan back," making me gag as his enormous arms firmly grasped my hips. He pushed my body firmly up against the wall to close the tiny space between us. He allowed every crease of his body to interlock with mine as he rammed his lower half into mine. He suddenly attacked my neck with his lips as I pounded on his chest with all my might in an effort to get rid of him.
Leave me alone! I sobbed, but he paid no attention. I would have melted under his touch had his tongue not skillfully caressed my flesh. He took a deep breath and grabbed me tightly, relishing the experience. When I believed Anderson was going to back off, he suddenly pulled back slightly and did something unexpected. His big canine teeth were visible when he opened his mouth. "No!" I pushed against him while pleading, stabbing my fists into his shirt. When he reached the ends, his tongue flickered as it moved slowly over them. I screamed ear-piercingly in pain as soon as his teeth sank deep into my flesh, but no one came to save me. I tried to reach Emily, but the excruciating anguish tearing through my body prevented me from getting through to my wolf.
She was hiding out in dread of the demon man, who was engulfing us with every passing second. I begged him to stop, but he refused, and I could feel the hot, salty tears burning my face. I begged him pathetically, "Please," but all he did was ignore me and tighten his grasp on my sides.
As his wolf carelessly manipulated mine, I felt like my neck was on fire. He kept me up while still commanding me, even though my knees started to shake rapidly. I realized I could not stop him because he was too strong, and I felt like my life was being drained from me with each press of his teeth. My mind was overrun with tales of being marked by your mate and the lovely feeling that would accompany that. Due to him, I would never get that! With each passing second, he claimed me more and more forcefully by sucking on my skin. I was unable to object or resist any longer. I started to feel woozy, then everything went black, my body went slack, and I felt disoriented.
The moment I removed the brunette's little, limp body from my car, I inhaled her delicious, strawberry-scented smell, which combined with mine almost appeared overpowering. I positioned my stunning new Luna on my shoulders, letting my nails hold her cheeks as I did so to prevent her from falling. I sighed as I fiddled with the pack house's front door handle. We're on to phase two now.
I could tell they were mates as soon as I noticed the silly expression in Morgan's eyes when he gazed at her. I had to destroy it when I noticed how happy he was. This was the time I had been looking forward to for months. Retaliation at its best.
I was aware that I needed to act quickly to avoid Morgan smelling her and demanding information. My pack mates were staring at the unconscious stranger with doubtful expressions on their faces as I sped up the stairs, kicking the door shut as I did so.
I effortlessly slung her back over my shoulder once she was in my room, making her the sole woman to ever sleep in my bed. Her chest was gently moving up and down, but I could tell she was still in pain since her eyebrows were drawn together. I really didn't imagine her wolf would freak out that much and go into total shock over my claim to her. Other wolves than their mates have reportedly been marked, but those people were typically cooperative.
As soon as I covered her slightly curved figure with a blanket, I heard a loud banging on my door, which caused a grin to appear on my face. Start having fun now. I took my time approaching the door because I wanted Morgan to pass out from excitement.
I placed my new Luna's shoes carefully at the door in an effort to enrage him by letting him see them. I pulled my shirt up to reveal my stomach just before turning the handle in an effort to fool him into thinking his body had raised it.
I pushed my body in front of the crack in the door to prevent him from peering in and muttered, "Oh hey," in a casual tone. He focused his dark eyes hatefully on mine, and I yawned a little. I could tell that it took all of his strength for him to refrain from hitting me because his hands were locked firmly at his side.
The question, "Where is she? Morgan tried to glance over my shoulder while urging aggressively and baring his teeth. I knew he saw her shoes because I shifted just enough for him to do so, and then his eyes blazed even darker for a split second before coming back to me. He was getting angry fast, and I was relishing every second of it.
I acted confused by scratching the back of my head. "Who?" As his chest started to drastically rise and fall, his wolf started to move around inside of him, and I could see he was trying to get out. I cocked my head a little and questioned incomprehensibly.
Oh yes, Nancy is her name, he screamed.
I shook my head heartlessly and pushed my hair to the side, acting as if his concern was meaningless. Oh, she's asleep, I see. I responded in a lighthearted manner, as if I didn't understand why he was upset.
"You just couldn't help yourself, could you, Anderson?" He screamed loudly, and my hallway could hear his voice.
Despite the fact that I was his Alpha, he raised his hands, put his palms against my chest, and gave me a hard shove. I was not only at a higher level than him, but I was also stronger. He could throw me around as much as he wanted, but I could easily destroy him.
While trying not to chuckle, I kept manipulating his emotions. I teasedly commanded, "Don't start a fight you can't win, Morgan," but it did not calm his wrath as he sought to push me once more. I quickly exited my room and closed the door behind us to prevent waking up my new roommate.
His nails sank into his palms as he grunted, and his hands balled into tight fists. How did you convince her to spend the night with you? He pried while making pitiful noises. What a snob.
At this moment, I lost control of my laughter, and he shoved my body once more, provoking my wolf to get quite agitated. I didn't enjoy being put to the test, and if he continues in this direction, he won't like the results.
The sweet, innocent voice of "Morgan" greeted me, and we both turned to face the door as Nancy stood there, looking bewildered and afraid. Her blue pools were full of tears, and the terrible grief they contained almost caused me to feel a bit guilty-a feeling I did not frequently experience.
Nancy's POV
My entire body ached and throbbed when I woke up. I started going over my most recent recollections in an effort to put the puzzle together. My wolf's brain and my brain both quickly recognized what had happened.
The aroma of Anderson's masculinity filled the room and the bed I was in at the time, stinging my nose. I let out a low shriek out of panic.
Hoping to get up quickly, I was glad to discover that I was fully dressed, though my shoes were missing. I had assumed the worst had happened. My lips quivered as my fingers whirled up to my neck, and I felt the swelling area where I had been bitten. I pleaded with the Moon Goddess, holding the sensitive area, to assist me in getting rid of this assertion.
My eyes started to well up with tears; this can't be happening! Why did I allow this to happen? I would have been secure if I had never gone outdoors with Anderson, but I blindly trusted him instead. I couldn't stop thinking about seeing Morgan, and because of that desire, I relaxed my guard. revenge, he said. That one word kept repeating in my head, frightening me as I thought back to his disapproving tone. What could Morgan possibly have done wrong for Anderson to mark me as his mate? Could something really be so awful?
How did you convince her to spend the night with you? The moment Morgan's enraged voice reached my ears, it was beautiful. My wolf, who had been moping, perked up as I heard this, and my heart rate shot up. He could be useful.
She urged me to move, and I complied. I cautiously made my way across the spacious apartment-like room before opening the door carefully out of concern for what or who might be waiting there. I gasped as I saw Morgan violently push Anderson's chest. Despite having a good physique, Morgan was no match for his leader.
Surprisingly, Anderson was larger than any Alpha I had ever come across. He had an immediate advantage because he was an Alpha, but he also had another quality. He was enormous.
