LOVING THE PLAYBOY

Author: : Queeniees
Genre: Romance
Gabriella Adams is a normal teenager living her life, but obviously there has to be someone who is always in her way, irritating the hell out of her. Hayden King Her mortal enemy But all that is about to change in ways she didn't expect. ****** "I hate you". He said. "Definitely not as much as I hate you," I countered back with a scoff, pissed. Who the hell does he think he is? "good ". He responded, causing my head to snap back towards him, and before I could put him in his place, I felt the softness of his lips against mine, knocking my breath away.

Chapter 1 URG, MONDAY!

Bree's Pov.

I groan as bright lights slip into the room. I pushed my face down into my pillow, going back to sleep just to be woken up again by the sound of my mom's voice.

"Bree, it's Monday. Wake up or you will be late for school!" my mom shouted from down the stairs.

Maybe if I don't respond, she'll let me skip school, and I can go back to my beautiful dream. I was this close to making out with Damon Salvatore; I just need to go back and continue where we left off.

"Gabriella Marie Adams, you better be up and ready for school; o voy a subir y golpear tu trasero" Who was I kidding, because she won't let me stay home?

Bye for now, Damon; may we meet again.

I groggily stood up from the bed, dragging my legs toward the bathroom for a quick shower.

After freshening up, I walked to my closet to take out a blue lace bra with matching pants along with my outfit for the day, which consisted of a black mid-tthigh jumpsuit with a bow by the side. I paired it with a white sneaker, a silver pendent, and earrings I got as a birthday gift from my dad last year.

Ugh, do I hate Monday? Who the hell invented school? Ugh...

I took my backpack along with my phone and walked out of my room down the stairs to the smell of pancakes.

"Good morning, mom." I walked over to where she was and placed a kiss on her cheek.

"Good morning, sweetie," my mom said. She placed a plate of pancakes with strawberry topping and orange juice. "Eat before you leave for school."

"Hi Bree, you got up late again". My younger brother Asher said as he ate his pancakes:

"Hey big guy. I know, I was having the best dream". I ruffled his hair, smiling down at him. I scarfed down my food fast when I heard the sound of a horn from outside, announcing the arrival of my best friend Maddie.

I rushed outside to where she had parked, getting into the passenger's seat. "Hey Maddie".

"Hey Bree, how did your weekend go? Sorry, I was able to hang out with you". Maddie asked, driving out of the driveway and heading towards our school.

"It's okay. Besides, I had an eventful week."

She snorted out "By eventful, you mean staying up in your room doing absolutely nothing as you binge watch the vampire diary. Right."

damn. She knows me well. I let out a sheepish smile "You know how much I love that series ".

"Yeah, tell me something I don't know". Maddie replied, pulling up into the parking space, and I tried to hold down my breakfast. East High Academy was built to torture poor innocent, sweet young souls all in the name of knowledge.

I stepped out of the car along with Maddie, my backpack strapped around my shoulder safely. I trailed behind Maddie, walking in the direction of the school entrance, when a car drove past me so fast, knocking me off my feet, and I fell flat, my buttocks landing on the ground.

"Oh my God, Bree, are you okay?" The concern in Maddie's voice could be heard. She linked her hands to mine, lifting me up from the ground.

It's a good thing I wore a black outfit. I thought to myself.

I turn to look at the culprit of my dilemma, and lo and behold, guess who stepped out of the car.

It was none other than my arch enemy, someone who does everything to irritate me to the point of murder.

Hayden KING.

With his curly black hair and light green eyes. Tall, broad. handsome, and every girl's dream. Not.

He was nothing more than a troll.

He had a victorious smirk on his face as he stood beside his car, clearly enjoining my distress. I flipped him off with a promise to have my revenge.

Muah........muah...... I'm going to get him good, and that's a promise.

******

The second the bell sounded, the hall was filled with students rushing towards their last class of the day. I pushed and shoved students out of the way, especially the ones standing there like they owned the school.

Like, come on, get your ass out of the way; I've got places to be.

I finally got to my locker, grabbing the things I needed. I was not planning on making a second trip back to my locker amidst the crowd of students. That would be so stressful.

I make it to my last class for the day. It is my last year in high school, and I have five more months to go before I'm out of this prison called school. Don't get me wrong; I do well in all my subjects, but that doesn't mean I enjoy coming here.

I went directly to the back of the room and noticed Sofie already sitting at our table. She's more of a reserved type of person, and you can tell by her dark appearance.

Her soft black hair clashes with her pale skin, her dark eye shadows, and her dark lipstick, which screams back off. Making her less approachable.

"Hey Bree, hey Sofie," Maddie greeted, taking a seat right beside me. "I hate math; how is it any of my business what the relationship is between x and y".

"I have no idea, but it seems important if they are willing to teach us." Sofie shrugged her shoulders, siding with Maddie.

"How do you do it, Bree?" Maddie asked.

"It's not like I have any other choice; I need a good grade to get into Harvard; you know how my dad is." I sighed, thinking about my dad. My dad is very strict and really takes good grades seriously, unlike my mom. He had gone on a business trip and will be back in two weeks.

"Well, it's true. I don't know what I would do if any of my parents were that strict on grades". Maddie said.

Our chatter was cut short when Mr. Anderson, the math teacher, came in. He stood at the head of the classroom and said, "Sit down, guys, I need to take the attendance." Following his order, the class went quiet.

Twenty minutes into the period, the door swung open, and just like that, every girl in the room became alert. Checking to make sure their hair and makeup were still intact.

I rolled my eyes at this, not because of the girls primping themselves. But because of the person standing at the edge of the door.

And in walked the three Musketeers: Daniel Parker, Dylan Reeves, and last but not least, Hayden King.

The three Greek gods of the school, with Hayden being the hottest-not that I will ever admit that to him.

The teacher cleared his throat. "Nice of you three to join us".

They strolled in like they had no care for the world, walking down the hall to sit in their very own seat, which happens to be the back of ours.

"Hey, babe," Dylan whispered, placing a quick peck on Maddie's cheek.

"Hey, where have you guys been". Maddie asked.

"We skipped the fourth period and just got back". Dylan replied.

It was silent for some time; we were all focused on the board, jotting down what was being taught, until someone thought it was a wise decision to kick my seat constantly to the point of frustration.

"What...?" I whisper out.

"I must say, princess, that was one hell of an iconic fall this morning." A smug smile graces his face.

I scowled at him and said, "I bet your brain feels good as new, seeing as you never use it."

"It must be difficult for you to exhaust your entire vocabulary in one sentence," he replied cockily.

The sound of the bell indicated the end of lecture for the day, and I slowly turned back to face Hayden with a sickly sweet smile on my face. "Believe me, I would really love to insult you, but I'm afraid I won't do as well as nature did".

I took my things and stood up, walking out of the class with Maddie and Sofie.

"You two just never change," Sofie says with a shake of her head.

Chapter 2 GETTING EVEN

"Honey, I'm home!". I called out to my mom, and she came rushing into the living room, having a very sweet smile on her face, with my brother trailing behind her.

"Bree... " Asher called out, running towards me, and I lifted him, spinning him around, and he let out a series of giggles.

I dropped him on the ground, still holding onto him so he wouldn't fall until he was stable. He ran back to the couch, watching his favorite SpongeBob cartoon.

I walked to where my mom stood, smiling at our sibling bond. I bent, pecking her cheek.

"How was school today". She asked.

"as it has always been, school." I answered, one of my eyebrows raised, trying to make a statement.

"Still the same then; nothing fun happened."

"No, nothing fun happened, mom."

"Well, if you say so, why don't you go freshen up while I prepare dinner? I still can't decide on what to cook yet."

"What about spaghetti sauce and meatballs?" I suggested it, and my mouth watered at the thought of it.

"That's a nice idea; I left some cupcakes for you. You can take it up now".

Thanks, mom." I walked to the kitchen and found a plate of chocolate cupcakes. I took out a tray, placing the plate on it, then opened the fridge to bring out my favorite orange juice, pouring some out in a glass cup before putting it back in the fridge.

I gently walked up to my room with my backpack strapped safely to my back and the tray secure in my arms. Once I got to my room, I dropped the tray on the table and my bag on the floor before racing to the bathroom for a shower. I came out later, fresh and clean, wearing just an oversize t-shirt that stopped above my knees.

After scuffing down my snacks, I plopped on my bed with my phone out as I scrolled through Instagram, watching funny videos for some minutes, and didn't realize when I fell asleep.

I felt something vibrate under me; my eyes were half closed while I used my hand to find the source of the vibration. Finding my phone, I peeled my eyes open, looking at the caller ID, and I answered.

"I know I'm amazing and fun, but we saw each other like an hour ago." I answered groggily, feeling sleep-deprived.

"Hi Maddie, how are you? I'm fine. Thank you, Bree. Thank you for this wonderful greeting. How are you too?" I got a sarcastic reply.

I rolled my eyes at this. Drama queen "Hey Maddie".

"Hey Bree, now that we have said our pleasantries, I wanted to ask you something in school today, but it slipped my mind.".

Her word caught my attention, and I quipped, wanting to know more.

"What..."

"Daniel is throwing a party on Friday; let's go together."

"No, you know I don't do parties, and you usually go with Sofie. So why didn't you ask her?"

Maddie let out a sigh before replying, "I did, but she has an important family dinner on Friday. Chris is coming home." I smacked my forehead with my hand, recalling Sofie telling me about her elder brother Chris coming home this week after being away for a year due to school.

"My answer still remains no, and you know my mom won't allow me since she doesn't go against my dad," I told her.

After what happened to my dad's sister when they were young, my dad hates the idea of any of us going out late at night, especially to parties.

"You can tell your mom we are having a sleepover at my place, please, Bree," Maddie pleaded.

"Fine, but on one condition". I let out a devilish smirk, knowing she had no option but to do as I said if she wanted me to go with her on Friday.

"What is it". She asked sceptical, like I was going to ask her to do something drastic and crazy.

Maybe I was.

"Help me get even with Hayden for this morning." Maddie groaned, wanting nothing to do between Hayden and I.

"Must I.."

"Yeah, I plan on getting back at him, and I know just the way. I just need a little bit of your help."

" fine... See you tomorrow," she said, hanging up the call.

When the call ended, I couldn't stop the wide smile that grazed my face, waiting for tomorrow so that I could execute my plan.

"Bree dinner is ready," my mom shouted. I walked down the stairs to the dining room, humming to myself.

My mom looked at me weirdly, saying, "What's got you humming?"

"Nothing, just excited for tomorrow."

I had just finished applying mascara to my lashes when I heard the sound of a honk and knew Maddie was waiting. I ran down the stairs with my backpack.

"Bye mom, bye Asher. See you after school." and walked out the door. I hopped in the back seat of the car because Sofie was on the passenger side.

"hey angels". I greeted them. I know it's cheesy, but that's how I refer to them. Sometimes.

"So I heard from Maddie about your plan to get back to Hayden for yesterday," Sofie said.

"Yeah, I plan on getting even ". A smirk graced my face.

"Don't you think the rift between the two of you has gone on for far too long". Maddie quipped.

"As much as I know how right Maddie is, count me in on your plan.". Sofie spoke again.

Maddie rolled her eyes at this, causing both Sofie and I to burst out laughing.

I knew I could always count on Sofie; she had always been my partner in crime, while Maddie was the only one out of us three. She is always trying to talk us out of anything she deems bad. She is like the mother hen.

Chapter 3 OH! HIS PISSED

"Hey, Bree, I'm here!". Sofie joins me and Maddie in the bathroom as I study myself in the mirror. Sofie and I smiled at each other, knowing what we were about to do, while Maddie had a big scowl on her face, but she knew she had no way of escaping this.

I stuck my head out of the bathroom, making sure the coast was clear. There were no students roaming the halls.

"Come on, let's move."

For the plan to work, we needed to go out to the parking lot, and Maddie agreed to be our lookout while Sofie and I handled the rest.

A smug look grazed my face as I walked out with a can of paint, and the same goes for Sofie. I have always wanted to practice my artistic skills, and I know just how. I have been told that I was an art protégée, at least by my mom.

I went towards Hayden's car and dropped the can of paint on the floor, opening the lid. I painted the right side of his Lamborghini Huracán Spyder pink and purple. Sofie painted the left side of the car green and blue. I took out a piece of paper that says, ' Payback is a Bitch, with a smiling emoji by the side.

I can't wait to see how he reacts.

"Oh, he's going to be so pissed". Sofie laughed. " it's his favourite car, you know..."

"Yeah, that's exactly why I like this plan better". We both gave each other high fives, smiling like maniacs.

"Come on guys, hurry up before the bell rings ". Maddie whispered. We ran back inside, back to the bathroom, to get rid of the paint on our hands.

The bell rang immediately after we stepped out of the bathroom, signalling the beginning of lunch.

This will be gold!

Students start walking out of class, and we merge with the crowd walking to the cafeteria. I bought some fries and juice, and Sofie and Maddie both bought sandwiches and Coke. We walked to our table, taking our seats with our tray of food placed on the table.

"Don't you think you guys went too far?" Maddie asked, concerned.

" please! He should have thought of that before running me over". I answered sassily.

"Do you think he has seen it yet ". Sofie questioned.

"I don't know..."

"He wouldn't be quiet if he did see it."

"Maybe he hasn't seen it yet".

"So tell me, Sofie, what time is your brother coming on Friday". I asked.

"I'm not sure yet, but I think he said something about being here by noon."

"It looks like someone is still nursing a crush". Maddie teased.

"What can I say? I've got a thing for handsome boys," I replied cheekily.

"Yeah, we can clearly see it," Sofie said before stuffing her face with a sandwich.

"What do you mean by that". My eyebrows raised as I stared at Sofie.

"The sexual tension between you and Hayden is just too much". She replied, and I choked on my drink. I stared at her while coughing repeatedly as Maddie petted my back.

Why the hell do we think that? Hayden and I know that's never going to happen.

"I don't think you know what you are saying, Sofie. Hayden and Bree have been at each other's necks for as long as I can remember. Trust me, there is no sexual tension".

"I agree with Maddie on that, Sofie. There is no sexual tension between Hayden and I, ewww." I made a throw-up face, making my point.

"If you say so, but love sometimes starts from hate." Sofie counters back.

"It's never going to happen, never," I retort back.

The sound of the lunch door being banged open caught everyone's attention, and the entire cafeteria went silent.

Hayden walked in with hot smoke coming out of his ear, if you get what I mean. His face was red in anger, and his fingers clenched tight into a fist.

"Who did that to my car". He asked, his voice very calm but deadly.

No one responded, and Sofie and I struggled to control our laughter.

"Who in the hell did that to my car". He roared out, not able to control his anger.

I won't lie; it scared the snot out of me, but I still don't plan on backing down.

His eyes scanned the hall before settling on me. I shivered inwardly at the intensity of his eyes as my gaze met his without wavering.

"This isn't over," Hayden said, barging out of the cafeteria.

"Oops, he is beyond pissed". I said, chuckling nervously.

"Yeah, what do we do?" Sofie asked worriedly, and we both turned to look at Maddie to see her giving us the 'I told you' look.

The rest of the day carried on till the bell rang, signifying the end of the day. I let out a happy sigh.

Finally, I'm free.

Maddie had to stay thirty minutes after school for some club she joined, but Sofie had already left; she was tutoring some kids. Since Maddie was my ride back, I decided to waste my time in the bathroom, scrolling through Instagram. When I walked out, the hallway was already empty.

I still had five minutes to spare. Ugh.

I walked out of the school, deciding to wait for Maddie in her car, but before I got there, I heard my name being screamed out.

"GABRIELLA! What the hell? What did you do to my car".

Ambush!. I repeat, I'm being ambushed. Help me.

I knew there was no way for me to escape, so I leaned onto the car with Hayden standing right in front of me.

Jeez.... Did I mention he was freaking tall?

What have I gotten myself into?
