Kidnapped By The CEO

CHAPTER 1

"Next person?" The waitress yelled out after tapping the name on the batch of coffee, someone ordered as Maria walked up to her, with a smile on her face. "The usual?"

She asked as Maria gave her a firm nod. She had been buying her coffee here every day for the past ten years, it was well known, even to the owner of the establishment, as Maria's usual was. She hummed a tune underneath her breath as she tapped subconsciously to the beat on the counter when the waitress appeared again, with her coffee, all set up ready to go. "All set."

She chirped as she handed Maria the coffee who took it and paid. "Thanks Amy, you are the best." With that she stepped out of the line and walked outside eager to catch the bus to her company.

At the bus terminal, she bumped into someone and ended up spilling some of her hot coffee on him. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, I didn't mean to. Please allow me.' She said as she brought out her handkerchief and started swabbing at the man's white, trying to dampen the temperature of the spilled liquid, so it wouldn't burn his skin, that much. 'It is understandable. Accidents happen, do not beat yourself over it."

The man said as Maria bit her lips, knowing that the man was just being kind about it. She wanted to insist that she did something to compensate for her mess, the bus rolled into the stop as people started gathering to enter.

Due to commotion, the man was able to slip away, leaving Maria there, who soon gave up and got in as well. Maria strode into the 14th level, where her office was located, with just her bag and phone after tossing the coffee cup into the bin, after gulping down the last drop. She fell into her chair and exhaled, today was going to be a long day and it was just seven thirty.

She sat in her office, making sure that her things were in order, and ready to get to her boss's hands. Knowing the old man, he was already stuck in his office, working his ass off as usual. And she was proven right a moment later when the telephone on her table shrilled and she quickly picked it up and placed it on her ears. 'Raymond's office?"

"Maria, its Raymond, Come to my office now, it's important." The call was disconnected before she even replaced the phone back to the cradle. She picked up the documents that needed to be signed by him, before heading out of her office and into his own. She knocked once as courtesy demanded and stepped inside the next second not waiting for a response.

"Good morning Mr Raymond. I have three documents with me that need signatures. Two from the financial departments, to approve the new budget schematics of the new underground structure and one from the department of Research. I have gone through all of it, and have highlighted the main parts of the contracts that you should be focused on."

She said in one breath as she displayed it on the table in front of him. The 65 year old CEO, who was quite agile and strong for his age, smiled as he took the files and leaned back into his thousand dollar chair and said, "You are an asset to this team, and to me. I am not sure where I would have ended up, if not for your skills and talent. Thank you again as usual. I will sign them immediately. I trust your judgment."

He said as he appended all the signatures required and closed the documents and handed it back to her. "Thank you sir, you called me here? Do you need me for something?" She asked as Raymond nodded his head.

"Of course I do. Well I guess you should be the first to know that I am retiring this week." He confessed as Maris stumbled slightly as the news nerved her.

"Pardon me? Already? But..." She started but trailed off, as Raymond chuckled before replying. "Well you don't expect me to die here working, do you? I have made a name for myself. I think I should relax, and enjoy the rest of my life on a sunny island drinking cold margaritas, while my son takes over the company as the new CEO."

"Your son..' she mumbled as if she had been struck dumb for a moment. Of course how could she forget that the man had a son. A son she was not familiar with at all. Her job was over, the man would kick her out, terming her as old property. Maybe her boss was kind enough to give her a heads up, so that she could start packing her items.

"And that is why I want you to be the PA when he gets here. I know you are loyal to me, but there is nothing stopping you from leaving when I leave. And Adrian has a bit of a temperament, he gets angry easily and needs someone to help him. Someone who knows the inside and out, and one who can put him in his place. You fit all those roles. I know this is low and could be seen as babysitting my son, but can you do it?" He asked as Maria had to sit down as she was stunned by what she just heard.

"You want me to look after Adrian? After you go?" She asked again to make sure that it was not a cruel joke, he was about to spring on her.

"Yes." He deadpanned as Maria nodded her head slowly absorbing the information.

"Okay, I can't say no to you can I? I will try my best to be by his side and help out like I do." She said with a smile as Nathan beamed at her.

"Thank you for this. I guess I'll let you submit these documents then." He said as Maria stood up and took them again and left.

Closing the door behind her, Marie quickly stepped into her office and closed the door before jumping in the air to celebrate her new position. She was going to be his son's new PA.

This was one of the greatest news that she ever heard. but she quickly calmed down and decided to get to work. And made sure that these files were dispatched to their respective departments in the company.

As Marie made her way back to the main department to submit the files that her boss had given her, she was accosted by her fellow employee Aurora who was unbearable to say the least.

Aurora had a 'I am better than you attitude' which seemed to corrode with almost all the employees in the department. She wasn't really liked so people avoided her as much as they could. Maria had it worse as Aurora had been eyeing the position of the CEO personal assistant before Raymond handed it to Maria.

Let's just say, Marie became her number one target she hated. She had barely submitted it for dispatch when Aurora came to her, and said. "What are you doing here, Marie? Shouldn't you be in the CEO office helping him as usual?" She said as Marie resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

She knew that Aurora could be nasty when she wanted so she wasn't going to give her the chance to insult her. "I was just coming from there, I thought you had grown over your Little jealousy about me taking the position that you wanted so badly." She replied and she was pleased with the red flush she saw on her face which she knew was embarrassment.

"I am not jealous of your position. Besides with the way you do your things, it won't take long for the boss to notice that you are incompetent and then he will find a better replacement aka me. But till then I will leave you be and do my duties." she said and walked away while Marie heaved a sigh of relief.

Hopefully if she was lucky, she wasn't going to see her today again. Aurora was what you would call a pain in the ass.

He watched the traffic signs turn red, as all the cars paused while the pedestrians started crossing the road. Holding his cup of black coffee, he walked as well, enjoying the early morning breeze and chatter sounds of the city.

He made his way to his street, walking the short distance to his mansion where his guards opened the door for him and he stepped in.

He handed over the coat that had spilled coffee to the guard and said, "Send this to the drycleaners. I need it by tonight so make sure you inform them that they should be quick with it" He said as the guard took the coat and nodded his head before taking off leaving his accomplices behind who stayed for further information.

He took a sip of his coffee as he checked his time..It was after 10am. He was expecting a report by then and wondered if Kelvin had arrived. "Boss, there is a man waiting for you in your lounge. He calls himself Kelvin and has been here since 9:50am." One of the guards said as Adrian nodded his head.

"Right on time as always. Make sure that we are not disturbed until I am done with the meeting." he said to the guard who bowed his head again and he left. Opening the doors he saw Kelvin seated already on the couch who immediately stood up and stretched his hand in a greeting.

"Good morning, Adrian." He said as they shook hands before they both sat down.

"Kelvin, I hope that you have something good for me." he said as Kelvin nodded his head before bringing out the file and handed it to him. Adrian took it and peered through his contents as Kelvin gave him a summary of the report.

"I was able to confirm the presence of the jewelry and also confirmed that it was indeed the original. He has them and takes great joy in them. Simon wears them all the time." he said as Adrian tightened his hand into a fist.

How dare Simon, that lowly church rat steal his mother's belongings and desecrate them. Adrian looked through all the pictures. He could see the Blood Tear Necklace that was worth 45M in his hands, his Mother's most prized possession.

His filthy hands were contaminating it. He flipped through the rest. He saw the earrings he had gifted his mum from Egypt from the best jewelers.

The De Costa Hairpiece that his dad had given her when they were dating, which made up for a lot of stories his mum told him growing up. Each picture only made him more angry and new ways to revenge.

Simon wasn't going to know what hit him until he was done with him. He was going to make sure that he suffers for what he has done.

"Any visuals on his location at the moment?" he asked as Kelvin replied, "Yes Adrian. We have eyes and ears on him 24/7. We are waiting for your orders. What should we do next? Should I go ahead and take it from him? Killing him in the process or do I turn him to the cops" He asked as Adrian shook his head.

"Not this time around. I want to be the one who gets to see him. Just make sure he is in the company after work hours..I do not want any disturbance."He said as Kelvin nodded his head. "That will be all for now." He said dismissing him as Kelvin took a bow and left the study as Adrian pulled open his drawers and took a pack of cigarettes before lighting one of them.

"Soon Simon. In less than twelve hours I will have my revenge on you. And in your next world. You will know better than to steal from me" He said to the empty room as he exhaled the smoke.

Maria yawned as she glanced at the clock. It was after 4pm. She was done for the day and by the moves in the boss offices, she knew that Raymond was rounding up as well to leave.

As a rule, she could not leave before the boss unless the boss explicitly told her to, in case he needed her help for anything. She had gone through her timetable again and was relieved to find out that she had carried out the plans she had for the day.

All the appointments that was supposed to be for the next days had been written down in red pen so that she would not forget it. "......will be leaving now."

Maria jerked up when she realized that she had been lost in going through her calendar, she didn't hear Raymond open her door and speak. "I am sorry sire. Did you say something?"

She said standing up as Raymond replied, "You have worked hard today Maria. Head home. I will be leaving now as well." He said as Maria nodded her head with a smile.

"Of course, I was just leaving as well." she said as Raymond smiled and said, "See you tomorrow." With that he was gone as Maria sat back on her chair.

Immediately she decided to leave as well, as she packed her own bag hurriedly and shoved everything back into her cabinet and closed it. She stood up and closes the door behind her before heading for the elevator.

Due to the transparent elevator, she could see Raymond's car driving away from the premises. She sighed as she watched the car leave her sight. She was very protective of that man, always seeing him as sort of a father figure.

He had been the one who believed in her all this while and helped her to her current status. If not for him and his persistence to save her, from that rebellious late teenage phase, she wasn't sure that she would be proud of where she was now.

Which was one of the reasons why she always helped and did things for him, just to make sure that he was comfortable. And now that he was soon leaving the company to go on his retirement.

She knew that she was going to miss his presence around but that won't stop her from paying a weekly visit to him. She walked out of the company. It was already deserted and there was only a guard left at the gate where they used to be two.

She didn't recognize this face but assumed this was the guards on the second shift that stayed from late afternoon till night. She greeted them and stood in the curb waiting for a cab. As her eyes wandered across the street, she saw a man who was leaning on his expensive Lamborghini Aventador LP. She was in awe although something tugged at her mind that she had seen that man somewhere before.

The cab arrived in front of her as she got in and told the man her address. The cab driver nodded his head before he drove off. *** Adrian was leaning on his Lamborghini Aventador LP waiting for the all clear message from his trusted bodyguard Kelvin when he saw that woman, walk out of his father's company.

He frowned at this but removed his gaze and stared at his phone. What are the odds that he would see her again. Maybe one day he would ask around and find out her identity but for now, he had to focus on Simon and him alone.

The message came less than two months later and Adrian crossed the empty road striding into his father's company to meet the thief who had stolen from him. He entered the company and made his way to the base level where Kelvin was waiting for him.

"He is in there." Kelvin said as he led him towards and empty office that was used as storage as he opened the door and they both walked in. The man was tied up in a chair and looked fairly beaten up by his guards. Seeing this, set his heart up in flutters.

He was happy that Simon was already in this state. Maria was at her door trying to magically open it out of frustration when she realized that she had left her house key back in the office, and the spare was with her friend who wasn't in town.

She sighed, the only thing left was to head back to the company and take her keys. Luckily the company wants locked at this time so she could slip in and out in less than thirty minutes.

She wasnt happy about it but there was nothing that she could do. Sighing, she picked up her bag again and made her way back to the front gate where she was lucky enough to see a Cab.

Another thing was that the company was about fifteen minutes ride so she knew that she was going to be there very soon. And once she is in, she will get her keys and make her way out.

She made her way up the elevator, as she hummed underneath her breath and once the door opened, she walked to where her office was. She unlocked it and made her way inside before she started looking for her keys on the table.

Feeling frustrated, when she didn't find it, she checked the CEO office before making her way back and then she saw it hanging on the cabinet that she had locked and had forgotten to remove it from the lock.

Cursing underneath her breath, she took the keys and shoved it down her bag and made sure she replaced all the previously scattered items back to their normal position and then flattened the crease in her skirt.

She took her bag and left her office locking the door behind and made her way to the elevator when she heard someone scream out in pain. She jerked and turned around wondering if she had imagined that noise.
