Jade's POV
"Welcome to our new home, Jade." Mommy opened the door to our new flat and let me walk in first. I swept my eyes around while hugging my favorite picture book. "How about this? Do you like it, dear?" I forced my lips into a smile.
"I hope this is the last time," I muttered and grabbed my suitcase and went into one room. After only a few seconds of being there, I turned my head. "I chose this room, Mom." Mommy just pulled her lips together and nodded slowly. A room with a balcony overlooking the street. It was nice enough to be able to relax when I was bored.
I sat on the edge of the bed, feeling unexcited. My eyes kept watching the new room, probing. This was the umpteenth time Mommy had asked us to move. We've probably lived in every village in Alaska before and after this, it's probably New York City's turn to explore.
Tired. Of course, who likes to pack up their stuff, move it and unpack it somewhere else in just one to two weeks. Not to mention we have to adapt to a new environment, new neighbors and new rules. Fortunately, Mommy chose home schooling to fulfill my study needs, eighty percent of which were taught by herself. So that I don't have to bother adapting to the complicated school environment.
"Are you asleep, Jade?" I closed my eyes instantly when mommy opened my bedroom door. I heard her footsteps approaching. Then her delicate hand stroked my hair. "You must be very tired. Sweet dreams, sweetheart." Mommy kissed my forehead. I kept my eyes from opening. I still don't understand what mommy is thinking all this time. Hasn't she ever felt tired of her strange behavior or lonely because she has no friends other than me. Isn't it better to gather with friends or family and have fun together? Still, she suddenly decided to move for no apparent reason. After mommy left, my eyes opened again. I got out of bed for a while, observing the closed door. I never argued with her, even though it drove me crazy. However, I knew her well enough. How she took care of me and loved me more than anything.
"Alright. Maybe this is the fate I have to live with." I lay back down. Pulling the blanket up to cover my entire body, which was very tired. Before I knew it, I was asleep.
I ran very fast, passing through the tall pine trees. I stopped for a moment to catch my breath, which was already labored. However, the figure had returned. Like a gust of thick black smoke, he moved as fast as a blink of an eye. I couldn't give up, so I took another step.
"Hahaha. Run as fast as you can, I'll catch you anyway, Jade Carter!" His booming voice made my nape hair stand up. I tried to go even faster. Even though my legs were already starting to hurt and I was getting tired. Suddenly, a tall, gigantic figure dressed in all black with spread bat wings and a creepy face was already in front of me.
"Hello, Jade. You can't run anymore. Hahaha," The figure soared until it made the bright atmosphere suddenly dark, covered by its very wide wings.
I really felt scared. The figure laughed loudly. It opened its mouth wide and showed the sharp teeth lining its jaws. The scent of death wafted out along with its hot breath. When she pulled my leg into that big mouth. A man came while attacking the figure. Thwarting its attempt to devour my body whole.
"Shit! How dare you interfere!" They fought fiercely. The man suddenly transformed into a large, savage, and powerful wolf. But his strength could not match that monstrous figure. He collapsed right in front of me as the creepy figure flung his body with its spiked wings.
"No!" I couldn't see clearly who the man was. It was just that it broke my heart to see him hurt for wanting to help me. Suddenly my body became very hot. A tremendous wave felt like it was about to explode from inside me. I could no longer control my body. That great power had invaded it and in an instant I turned into a huge wolf figure as well. I fought against that monstrous figure so skillfully and almost defeated it. Suddenly, he threw my body onto the forest floor with dominant force. And just as quickly, he stood in front of me with his mouth wide open to absorb all the energy I had. I felt increasingly weak and helpless. In fact, death seemed to be right around the corner. Fortunately, there were thousands of supernatural figures who instantly stopped it. There were vampires, witches, and werewolves. My body fell back to the ground before my life was completely eaten. My body turned back into a human because my strength was gone. I vaguely saw the man crawling, approaching. Then grasped my hand as if to channel the power.
I woke up when the sun was high. My body really felt heavy and sore. Red rashes appeared on my white skin. I remembered what had happened before. But all my memories seemed to fade away. I didn't remember anything. Not even the dream I had last night. Everything seemed blurry in my brain. The more I remembered, the more I lost the memory.
When she saw me come into the kitchen. Mom immediately greeted me with the delicious pancakes she had made. For cooking. This woman is a winner. I can vouch for that.
"Morning, sweetheart. How did you sleep last night? The bed was comfortable, wasn't it?" Mommy gently kissed my forehead.
"Yeah. I think the sheets in that room made me allergic. Just look at what happened." I showed my hands that still had a red rash on them. Mommy looked surprised to see that. However, she remained calm and smiled.
"Okay. I'll clean it myself later. Now eat a lot. After that, we'll go for a walk. I heard there's a pretty park around here."
"Really?" I'm very excited to hear that. Instead of sitting at home all day. Isn't it better to find new experiences out there? Mommy nodded firmly.
Mommy kept her promise. We took a walk in the city park, not far from our flat. The place was quite beautiful. Although there weren't as many trees as in Alaska, the air was quite cool. I love the forest scenery. The cool air, the distinctive wet smell and the variety of wild plants never made me feel bored. Exploring the different types of plants and life there always makes me feel like myself. There seemed to be a strong and special bond between me and the forest. Although I don't know what that means.
"Dear. Stay here, I'll be right back with some refreshments for you!" said Mommy, to which I nodded slowly in reply. She knew perfectly well that I was enjoying the atmosphere.
Peaceful. Every time the wind blows across my face, it blows away some of my unbound blonde hair, and my mind wanders back to my childhood in Afognak. I was running around among the towering pine trees of the forest. Looking for a safe place to hide. Not from wild bears or other wild animals looking to pounce, but from Brad. We always played hide-and-seek there. Unfortunately, Brad always found me, no matter how far I hid.
"For the umpteenth time I found you, Jade. You'll never be able to hide from me."
That sentence is always ringing in my ears. It seemed to be a memory that was always embedded in my mind. I dug deeper into my childhood memories. Until I accidentally heard a loud enough voice. I reflexively approached when I saw a man falling from a skateboard not far from where I was sitting.
"Are you okay?" I asked anxiously while helping him up.
"I'm fine. Thank you." He looked at my face, then his forehead furrowed. "Are you new around here? I don't think I've seen you before?"
"Yes. I just moved in last night."
"Oh, how appropriate? I've been here many times and never seen you before. Oh, yes. May I know your name?" The man said matter-of-factly. I was a little confused. Honestly, this was the first time I talked to a stranger without mommy beside me. I thought back. Isn't it good that I'm starting to make new friends? At least I won't feel bored anymore while staying here.
"Sure. My name is-"
"Stop it!" Mommy suddenly came.
Jade's POV
Mommy quickly pulled my outstretched hand towards the man.
"Leave my child alone! Got it!" Mommy said in a lofty tone. After that, she pulled me away. Before I could ask why, she forbade me to be friends with that man.
"Mom. What's wrong with me being friends with him? Aren't we newcomer here? We should at least be friendly with the old residents," I kept asking along the way. However, as usual. I didn't get a single answer from her. Mommy kept pulling my hand like a horse pulling its cart, mercilessly. It wasn't until we reached our flat and locked the door from the inside that she released her grip with a panicked look on her face.
"They're coming! They already know where we are! What do we do? Now we have to get out of here, Jade! Pack your things now!" Mommy said. She went into her room. She put all her clothes into a big bag. I was still standing with tears in my eyes. This time, she couldn't hold herself back anymore. Her mom had gone completely crazy.
"Jade! What are you thinking again? Hurry up and pack all your things immediately!"
"I'm not leaving, Mom," I replied firmly.
"What?"
"I've always complied with your wishes to move around as much as you like, Mom. Without me arguing or asking what makes us have to move because I respect you. But this is crazy. We just got here last night and you want us to leave again now?" I stopped my sentence for a moment, with tears in my eyes. "You always say the same thing. They're coming! They're coming! Who the hell is coming? Even in life, we've never had anyone really close to us. Because you're busy changing places all the time." I let out my heart that I had been keeping to myself. "You think adapting to a new environment is easy. Not everyone is willing to accept my presence among them. And when that happens. They try to bully me and hurt me all the time. But when someone wants to be my friend. You push him away. You kept him away from me. I want a normal life, mom. Like other kids my age. No, Mom. I'm a big girl and I have the right to make choices. I will stay here. With or without you," I said firmly. Then went into my room and locked the door.
"Jade! You don't understand! Our lives are in danger, Jade! Don't you want anything to happen to you?" mommy shouted from behind my bedroom door. However, I completely ignored her.
"I can protect myself, Mom!" I yelled back.
"Jade," mommy murmured, which I could still hear even though it was very soft.
The next day, I was still locked up in my room even though Mommy had asked me to make up by taking me shopping at the supermarket. But she didn't come back, so I started to feel bored being left alone. I chose to take a walk outside. Sitting in the park while waiting for mommy would be more fun. The atmosphere that afternoon was quite calm. There weren't many people there because it wasn't a weekend day like yesterday.
I sat in the same place as before. Taking a deep breath and enjoying the fresh breeze was fun. I looked up while closing my eyes. Until shortly, I heard someone's steps approaching.
"Hi. Aren't you the girl from yesterday?" the man greeted as he approached me. I gave a small nod with a smile.
"Yes." I replied softly. Honestly, I was starting to feel bad for Mommy's arrogant actions yesterday. Silence. We were silent while enjoying the atmosphere there.
"Do you like this place?" I nodded quickly.
"Not bad. How about you?"
"It's a pretty good place to escape from my rather complicated life tasks." I laughed amusedly.
"You're quite open to it."
"Want to take a tour with me. This place quite beautiful from all sides, you know!" I paused for a moment, feeling hesitant. Of course, it was because I was waiting for my mom to return. She wouldn't like seeing me go out with someone I didn't know. "My name is Jimmy. I know you must be scared of your mom, right? Don't worry. We'll just go around the neighborhood. It won't be far." Jimmy seemed to know what I was thinking.
"Alright. But, I hope we don't stay long. Because my mom should be back soon."
"Sure. Let's go!"
Time passed. It was already getting late in the afternoon. Jimmy turned out to be quite a fun person. I lost track of time because he knew beautiful places with cool and calm air. I'm sure mom must have come home by now. I blurted goodbye and chose to leave. With a disappointed look on his face, Jimmy let me go. I still wanted to be with him. But I didn't want to argue with mommy like last night.
I stepped into my flat in a hurry. I hoped mommy wouldn't nag me again. For finding me not at home when she left. I slowly opened the door to the flat and entered without making any noise. When I turned around, I was stunned by the messy condition of the house.
"What has happened? Why does it look like an earthquake just hit here?" I muttered with a furrowed brow. I walked carefully inside. "Mom!" I screamed when I saw mommy lying on the floor. "Mom, what happened?" I felt very worried. Moreover, Mommy could not reply. Her eyes were wide open and her lips seemed to move. But her voice disappeared. She couldn't speak. Her hands and feet kept rebelling as if she wanted to get rid of something I couldn't see. "Mom. What has happened to you?" I was getting more and more frightened. I could feel my tears falling.
I immediately called an ambulance to take mommy to the hospital. Unfortunately, the examining doctor also looked confused with mommy's condition.
"From all the examinations I have done. Your mother was not detected to have any disease. Everything is normal, like a healthy person in general."
"But why is my mom's condition like this now?" I was getting worried after listening to the doctor's explanation. I glanced at mommy who was now tied to the patient's bed. She looked calmer because she had just received a sedative injection by the doctor.
"I once had a patient like this. But she cannot be diagnosed with medical science." I gasped.
"What does that mean, Doc?"
"I used to live in Alaska. Life there is quite different. There was a woman who came in the same condition. But we believe it was for a magical reason."
"What?"
"You don't have to believe this ridiculous story. I'm just remembering the experiences of my youth."
"But we're from Alaska too," I blurted.
"Really?"
"Yes. So, what did that woman do?"
"Magic hit her. Some sort of curse for keeping the Fladerhood amulet."
"What? A curse? Amulet? What amulet?"
"The Fladerhood Amulet. This amulet is a magic item that belonged to a Great King of Caballeron. He is in the middle of the Alaskan forest bordering a small town called Vlanistone." The doctor explained while showing a picture of a semicircular object with strange symbols written on it on his cell phone screen. When I noticed the picture, Mommy thrashed again. Her mouth twitched again, as if she wanted to say something.
"Mom," I was getting worried. The doctor immediately examined her again.
"The curse is getting stronger. You must immediately find the amulet and return it!"
"Alright. I think I've seen this thing kept by Mommy. But, Vlanistone? As long as I've been to Alaska. I've never heard of that place."
"Yes. It's a place that's pretty isolated from other towns. In fact, they have almost no contact with the outside world."
"How can I get there?"
"Don't worry. I will help you."
Lewis POV
I smiled a little. Glade looked so beautiful and sexy tonight. Her body soaking in a bathtub full of bubble foam. My eyes couldn't stop looking at her. I slowly walked over. Hugging her from behind and showering her with kisses on her bare neck and shoulders. I inhaled the scent of her body strongly. Although it always felt strange, I still liked it.
As a male werewolf, I had yet to find my fated mate at the appropriate age. I often felt disappointed and lonely. Although many women came to flirt with me, I was never interested in them. Until one day, Glade's presence changed everything. I was attracted to the girl the first time I met her. Her beauty, thoughtfulness and mature demeanor made me fall in love instantly. I didn't know whether the Moon Goddess would approve of our relationship and make her my mate or not. Even if not, I would still make her my chosen mate. She's the girl I've wanted all my life.
"You're naughty, Lewis," Glade said softly as I ran my hand down his sizable chest.
"But you like it, right?" I retorted in front of his ear. Glade didn't answer. Instead, she turned to me. Staring at me with her beautiful eyes. Then, nodding slowly, I smiled in satisfaction. I immediately grabbed her lips. I sucked deeply to channel my feelings that I couldn't contain anymore. our game was getting hotter. Glade let out a long moan when my hand managed to squeeze her chest. That set my body on fire. As a normal man who has long craved the pleasure of a woman. I wasn't going to waste this opportunity.
I immediately got into the bathtub. Being face to face with her beautiful body made my male soul even more excited. My two hands work together. Twisting and squeezing her breasts wrapped in beautiful white skin. I lowered my kisses to the same place. In the blink of an eye, I filled her with very tempting red splotches. Meanwhile, my hand was already playing in her pussy. Shaking it with a rhythm that made Glade unable to contain her desire.
"Lewis. Do it now! I can't take it anymore," Glade pleaded in a guttural voice. I chuckled. I ignored her request and continued my activities on her body.
Glade was starting to get annoyed. She pushed my body to the other side. Then immediately climbed on top of my naked body. Her eyes lit up at the sight of my hardening penis.
"Now it's your turn, Alpha," Glade's words were threatening, but I smiled at them. Especially when her hand skillfully played with my cock. Then she passionately sucked it. My desire peaked. I felt what he felt earlier.
"This could really make me crazy. Do it now, Glade!"
"Hahaha. Why didn't you obey me earlier." Glade also ignored my order. She played me even better. I couldn't keep quiet. I stood up and lifted her body out of the bathtub.
"You're cheating, Lewis," Glade protested. I just smiled and kissed her lips again. The shower water automatically poured out when we were underneath it. I lowered Glade's body without breaking our kiss. There the actual game began.
Glade and I made love passionately. We were like lovers in love. There was no style we didn't try. We did everything with a burning passion. I don't remember how long we made out. But my energy was drained after that.
"You're amazing, Lewis," Glade complimented me once we were on the bed. I wrapped my arms around her with a smile and we closed our eyes.
I woke up and didn't find Glade's body next to mine. I quickly stood up and put my pajamas back on. I looked for her in every corner of my room. But I couldn't find her. Just as I was about to look outside. Suddenly, my eyes saw that my personal closet was open. I quickly checked it. No one had ever dared to open that thing without my permission.
"Shit! The secret room key disappeared!" I quickly went outside. I called all the bodyguards and Beta Peter in a panic. It didn't take long for them to gather in front of me.
"What's wrong, Alpha?" Peter asked me.
"The secret room key is missing. Quickly block all exits to the castle and don't let anyone out!"
"Yes, sir." the guards immediately carried out their duties. While Peter and I went straight to the secret room to check.
"What happened, Brad?" asked Peter.
"Glade disappeared with the key. I hope she didn't do what I'm thinking now!"
"What? Glade did it?" Peter looked surprised. I stopped my steps for a moment.
"It's just a guess. I'm sure she won't betray me." I snapped at Peter slightly before resuming my steps.
Peter and I passed through a long hallway of stairs that led us to the basement. My heart didn't stop beating fast. My heart kept denying my logical mind, that kept accusing Glade of being the culprit. Right in front of the room's door, the two guards who were guarding it were lying unconscious. Peter immediately woke them up. Meanwhile, I quickly checked the royal amulet that was safely stored there. My heart broke when I didn't find that important object in its place. Especially after they woke up, they testified that Glade had previously come to bring them drinks on my orders. However, after drinking the water, they suddenly fainted and didn't remember anything anymore.
"That's impossible. You must have misremembered that person," I still tried to deny it.
"We're telling the truth, sir. In fact, we saw Miss Glade use the demon symbol to escape from here," said the bodyguard.
"What?"
"She must not have gotten far. We can definitely catch up to her!" Without being asked twice, I immediately followed Peter's plan.
We rushed outside. It turned out that the guards were holding back Glade, who was about to leave. It was obvious that Glade was seducing the guards, as if she didn't know anything about the important amulet.
"Hold her back! Don't let her go!" Peter shouted loudly, giving instructions to the guards. Glade turned around. Our eyes met. She looked quite calm when she saw me approaching. Even the look in her eyes showed no remorse. Before I could get close to her, she pulled out the demon symbol from her jacket pocket. In one fell swoop, she dispatched the bodyguards. Then disappeared like smoke with that symbol.
"Damn it! She got away." Peter looked very annoyed. "Guards, catch her and bring her here immediately!"
"Yes, sir." As ordered, they rushed off to catch up with Glade. I was still pensive. I couldn't accept what had happened.
