It was dark and Cindy and Jack were making out by the well. There was a loud thump to the back of Jack's head then he collapsed on the ground and rolled down the hill. There was a dark figure behind Cindy Von, but before she could react or turn completely around, she was hit on the side of her neck and in the back of her head with a metal
object. She screamed out, "Aaaah!" Then she was pushed inside the well, falling all the way down to the bottom, where she passed out.
It was morning and Cindy was waking up to darkness, but when she looked up, she could see the clear blue skies. She thought she was having a bad dream. There was pain all over her body and she had a terrible headache. The well was old and musty with cold concrete at the bottom. Cindy could barely move around, because of the sharp pains she was feeling. She rolled her body over the broken pieces of the branches underneath her. She was trying to remember what happened and how she got inside the well.
Branches and roots were sticking out of the walls of the well, which broke her fall but caused bruises, minor cuts, and pain to her body. But if she had hit the concrete directly, she would have suffered a few broken or fractured bones. Cindy figured she had to be with Jack before the accident happened, but something went wrong.... But what happened, and who was responsible? She wondered where was Jack and if he was the reason she was inside the well. At that moment Cindy's thoughts were a blur, she was scared and confused. She screamed as loud as she could, hoping someone was around to hear her.
"HEEELP! HEEELP! PLEASE HELP ME! SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP ME!!"
There was no answer and no one seemed to be around or near the well. Cindy knew on the weekends the park had lots of Thornsberry residents hanging out, she remembered the first time Jack took her to the park. She couldn't even remember what day it was or how she got inside the well. Her stomach was growling, because she was hungry and thirsty, but that was another problem she had no solution for. Cindy thought about rodents and bugs being inside the well with her in the darkness that would soon fill the well after the sun went down. The daylight from the outside gave some light inside the well but not enough to make her feel safe. She had to use the bathroom but she could hardly see anything so she held it in for a while, hoping someone would realize she was missing and would come looking for her. But Cindy didn't remember if she told her parents or friends of her whereabouts. She lay on her back looking up at the sky, watching as the day became night. She rolled over and closed her eyes so she wouldn't have to see the darkness but think about getting out of the well to be with her family again.
Jack and Jill lived and grew up in Thornsberry with their families. Nothing exciting ever happened in Thornsberry. The big windmill and the old well were the most historic and oldest things there. As Jack and Jill became young adults, their relationship blossomed more into a romance. On the top of the hill, by the old abandoned well, is where they had their first kiss and where they would meet every day after school. It was also where all the older teenagers would hang out and make out; enjoying the pleasures of their puppy love.
Jack's best friend Chuck was always on the lookout, standing at the bottom of the hill, ready to alert everyone of any adults passing by. Chuck was nerdy and more interested in science and video games. He liked smart girls, but he wasn't ready for a relationship.
After their high school graduation, Jill attended a local college in Thornsberry. Jack attended trade school to learn carpentry, to help his dad with the family business and he worked on the family's farm. Jill had a conversation with Jack about their relationship. She wanted to leave Thornsberry after she finished college, to explore life outside their small town. To create the life she and Jack always talked about and dreamed of. But Jack wasn't sure about leaving Thornsberry, even though he knew a stable life required more than just their love for each other. He had other obligations working on the farm his dad inherited, and helping his family maintain it daily. Jack knew his life was in Thornsberry and he wasn't open to living elsewhere.
Jill didn't want to leave without Jack, but she knew they had to make a decision. They started spending time together, discussing other options and what was best. There was no other young woman in Thornsberry who Jack loved, adored, and cared for, more than Jill. Although they were young, their love grew stronger and their desire for each other became more passionate. They sat on the hill reminiscing about their life, especially the first time they made love. They smiled as they stared into each other's eyes, and
held hands. They talked about their future, getting married, and having children. Jack hoped Jill would change her mind and stay in Thornsberry so they could have a place and save up for their wedding.
Most of all, Jack wanted Jill to stay because he didn't want to be without her, although there were better opportunities for them in another city. After numerous job offers, Jill finally accepted a job in Sumerville, a town, 2 hours outside Thornsberry. Jack insisted she stay, and then they could get married and settle down. But Jill did what she felt was best for herself, and she had no regrets. She wanted a different life, even though she still loved Jack and wanted them to be together, working on the farm was not what she wanted. Thornsberry was no longer the place to be, at least not for her. She decided to explore other options and to give herself a fresh start. Jill tried to convince Jack to come with her, but his loyalty was to helping his dad on the farm and with other work.
Jack was upset and felt betrayed by Jill when she packed up and moved away without him. He loved her, but he knew she had to live her life doing whatever made her happy. They didn't want their relationship to end, no matter how confused they were about their priorities. Jack knew he still wanted to marry Jill and spend the rest of his life with her. But it just wasn't the right time, even their parents advised them to wait a few more years before getting married. They thought Jack and Jill were too irresponsible for marriage, and not quite ready for that kind of commitment. Jill's parents encouraged her to take a break from Jack, to see if their feelings would change. After Jill moved away, Jack took an interest in dating other young ladies in Thornsberry, to keep his mind off of Jill. Although his heart yearned for her, he didn't let his sadness make him feel lonely.
When Jill arrived in Sumerville, she called Jack and her parents to let them know she had made it safely. Jack didn't answer the phone but she left him a message. Sumerville was more city life, fast-paced, and overcrowded. It didn't take long before Jill made new friends to hang out with. There were plenty of handsome single guys, but Jill turned them down because she still loved Jack and hoped he would soon change his mind and move to Sumerville with her. Jack was in his feelings, but he listened to Jill's message before he deleted it. He didn't feel the need to call her back just to have another discussion about moving out of Thornsberry. Jack spent his weekends and off days at the pub with Chuck, his best friend, and some of their other friends in the neighborhood. Jill was disturbed that Jack had not returned her call. She called his mom Leann to ask her if everything was OK with him.
"Hi, Jill. How are you? It's good to hear from you. I hope everything is going well for you in Sumerville."
"Hi, Mrs. Leann. I am doing great and everything is going well with my new job. I was calling hoping to talk to Jack if he's there. I left a message for him a couple of days ago. But I haven't heard from him since I left Thornsberry."
"Is everything OK with him? Is he there right now so I can talk to him?" Jill inquired.
"I have no idea where he is at the moment, Jill. But he usually hangs out with the guys at the pub or with his friend Chuck when he gets off work. You know how those young men are, never where you expect them to be but always somewhere you think they're not. I will make sure to let him know you called. He's been working very hard on the farm, so most times he's tired. I will leave a note for him just in case he comes in after I go to bed." she assured Jill.
"OK. Thanks, Mrs. Brennan. Enjoy your evening."
"Thank you, Jill, and same to you too. Take care."
"Yes. I will."
When Jill hung up the phone, she wondered what Jack and his friends were doing. There weren't any strip clubs in Thornsberry, but a few outside of Thornsberry, Jill didn't want to worry herself, so she showered and went to bed. Jack and his friends hung out at the pub with a few of the young ladies in Thornsberry. He had no concern for Jill, but when he thought about her, he could feel the sadness in his heart. A few young ladies tried to be with Jack, but he knew his heart still ached for Jill. He was still upset about her leaving him, but he had no interest in them. The pub was closing and it was time for everyone to leave. Chuck was Jack's designated driver for getting him home safely and for that reason, he was given a key to Jack's parents' home. When Jack got home, he was too intoxicated to see the note. Chuck had to walk him inside his room. Jack collapsed on the bed and slept until the morning. Chuck read the note on his way out but left it in the same place Jack's mom had placed it, then he locked it up and went home.
The next morning when Jack got up to get ready for work, he read the note his mom left for him. He tore it into pieces and threw it in the trash. He made himself some coffee and ate breakfast before going to the farm. When Jack heard his mom coming out of her bedroom, he pretended to be in a hurry.
"Good morning. Did you get the note I left for you? Jill had called and just wanted to check on you." his mother told him.
"Yes, mom. I got it. If she calls back tell her I have been busy and had no time to call her." Jack said. His mother looked concerned but didn't make a big deal about it.
"OK, son. I'll let her know. Enjoy your day." she said.
"I will Mom. Thanks." Jack said as he kissed her cheek and left for work. Jack was aggravated, and he hated that Jill contacted his mom. He wanted Jill to move back to Thornsberry, not call from Sumerville.
It had been nearly 2 years since Jill had left Thornsberry to live her life. After several attempts to contact Jack, she stopped calling. During her time living in Sumerville, Jack worked with his dad on the farm and hung out with his friends to keep himself occupied in the evenings. Every day Jack went straight to the pub to have a few beers with his buddies, and he would be intoxicated until the sun came up. But one morning Jill finally called Jack again, but he was out cold and never heard his phone ring.
She was returning to Thornsberry in a few more months, and she wanted to tell him the good news before she came home. It was late afternoon when Jack finally woke up and realized he had missed several calls from his dad, his friends, and a few from Jill. He immediately assumed that Jill was calling to give him bad news. But just as before, he didn't even bother to return her call or leave a message.
Jack had plenty of time to call Jill but he chose not to. He showered then went to the kitchen to make himself some coffee, before getting dressed to hang out. When the house phone rang, Jack was scared to answer it, so he let it go straight to the voicemail.
"Hey, Jack. This is Jill. I need to talk to you. I left you several messages on your phone to call me back, but I figured I'd leave one on the house phone just in case your phone was off. Please call me as soon as you get a minute. Talk to you soon, I hope." (Beep!)
Jack was glad he didn't answer the phone, then he erased the message so his mom wouldn't listen to it. As he was driving, Jack wondered if Jill was calling to tell him she wasn't returning to Thornsberry or to break up with him so she could date other men. He stopped by the pub to grab a burger and fries, and to help clear his mind. Jack was thinking hard about Jill and why she was calling. He wondered if she had already decided to leave him for another man.
The frustration and the hurt he felt, he could no longer hide but even in his pain, he knew he still loved Jill. His eyes filled with tears because his heart felt so much sadness. After he paid for the food and was walking to his car, his cell phone rang again; it was Jill. Again, he avoided answering the phone, laying his head on the steering wheel.
"Damn it...how could she do this to me!" Jack shouted aloud. I can't take it. She can go ahead and choose to be with him."
Jack didn't mean what he said and would never say that to Jill. He knew he needed to talk to her, so he would know what was happening with her. Jill became more irritated because she couldn't get in touch with Jack. However, she was still excited about telling him her good news, about moving back home to Thornsberry. But Jill didn't realize Jack was preparing to break up with her and to go his own way. He was impatiently waiting for Jill to return home, dreading having to end their relationship. Jack would always call his best friend, Chuck, whenever he felt confused or stressed. He drove over to Chuck's house. Unfortunately, Chuck wasn't available, because he had left to go out of town with the science club, he was a member of.
Heading back home, Jack was distracted as he drove down the street. A family was moving in and a very pretty young lady caught his eye. With a wide grin, Jack slowed down his car and waved to the family as he was passing by to go home. Jack caught a glimpse of the young woman who appeared to be in her early 20s and she was a beautiful sight to see. Her parents were homely-looking people but seemed very friendly. And there was a teenage boy, much like the other video game-playing teen boys in the neighborhood. Jack noticed the young lady scantily dressed and how her nipples were piercing through her cropped t-shirt, with a denim cap, worn backward. She wore cut-off denim shorts almost showing the rim of her butt cheeks and Jack soon forgot about the hurt he was feeling. He drove to the house and quickly ran upstairs to his room, searching for his binoculars, so his lustful thoughts could resume. He could see the young lady bending over picking up boxes to carry into the house.
Jack was aroused watching the young lady and thinking about asking her to go on a date. He drove back down the street to welcome her and her family into the neighborhood. He wanted to be the first one she met before any of the other guys could have a chance to meet her. Jack remembered his relationship with Jill, making sure he didn't create another problem for himself. When Jack pulled into their driveway, the young lady walked towards his car, smiling and waving at Jack as her breasts bounced up and down.
"Hi, my name is Cindy and we just moved here!" she shouted as she got closer. "Your music is kind of loud!"
"Oh, I'm sorry," Jack said after he turned the music down. "My name is Jack. I was coming over to welcome you and your family to Thornsberry, our small but friendly town."
Cindy smiled, then rolled her eyes. "I'll be the judge of the friendliness, but glad to meet you anyway."
"Well with a beautiful smile like that, you're the highlight of my day," Jack replied.
Jack was sweating and feeling nervous the closer she got to his car. He could see her nipples through the sheerness of the T-shirt she had on. The curve of her breasts hung out the shirt when Cindy put her hands above her eyes to shield out the sun.
"So, what do you guys do for fun in Thornsberry?" she asked Jack.
Jack was too busy looking at her breasts as she tossed back her hair. Her breasts were like two full melons bouncing around every time she moved.
"Maybe we can hang out at the pub and I can show you around," Jack said. "And I can introduce you to some of my friends since you're new here."
"Yeah, maybe we can all hang out." said the young man. He stepped between Jack and Cindy.
"You are such a jerk!" said Cindy pushing him out of the way."
"That's my annoying teenage brother, Perry, but he won't be tagging along!"
"What's up? My name is Jack," he replied, extending his hand."
Perry shook hands with Jack and walked to the truck to get more boxes. Cindy saw Jack staring at her breast so she raised her arms higher.
"I would rather hang out with you, maybe later I can come by your place," she suggested. Jack swallowed hard watching as Cindy's nipples were almost exposed.
"I stay with my folks, but they're on vacation. It's OK if you want to come by," he said, feeling himself get hard, wiping away the beads of sweat rolling down his nose.
"OK. How about later tonight I come by your place to hang out with you? We'll have fun and I'll bring something to drink and smoke." she said with a wink.
Jack was lost for words but nodded in agreement, then he remembered the situation with him and Jill. Jack thought maybe Cindy would be the diversion he needed to take his mind off the sadness he felt in his heart, about the breakup, which he was assuming because it never really happened. Cindy took the washcloth tucked in her shorts, leaned into the car, and wiped the sweat from Jack's face. He smiled and could now see Cindy's breast fall from the t-shirt, giving him a full-eye view and an erection. Jack let his hands fall into his lap, but Cindy had caught a glimpse of his bump.
"Wow. Very impressive!" she said smiling. Maybe we can entertain each other later tonight."
She kissed her finger and touched it to Jack's lips. She picked up the box on the ground to take it into the house. Jack watched her walk away before he backed out of the driveway. When Jack returned home, he had forgotten about his phone until it started ringing again. It was Jill, and again he wouldn't answer the phone. Now he was going to be hanging out with Cindy, he didn't want to be distracted by his feelings for Jill.
