Irresistible To My Glamorous Ex-wife

Author: : Cliff Truss
Genre: Modern
Before the divorce, everyone thought that Belinda was just a housewife who was good at nothing. Even her then-husband, Russell, believed this. However, after the divorce, it was soon revealed that she was the eldest daughter of the Lindfield family. She was proficient in not only designing, but she was also a shrewd businesswoman who knew how to turn a profit. She had several brothers who doted on her. Various handsome men chased after her, determined to win her heart. When she crossed paths with Russell again, she lifted her chin proudly and asked, "Do you regret divorcing me?" Russell replied, "Yes. How about remarrying me?"

Chapter 1 Apologize Or Divorce

"Ah!"

An ear-piercing scream shattered the peaceful atmosphere in the Kameron family villa.

It was Rena Kameron's 80th birthday party today, and the guests had gathered in the living room, chatting merrily. They now all turned alertly in the direction of the scream.

At the foot of the stairs, Cassidy Bradley was curled into a ball, writhing in pain. Her arms and legs were covered in bruises, which stood out against her flawless skin. She even had a busted lip, and blood dribbled down her chin.

Aghast and shocked, the crowd looked up the staircase, where a woman was standing at the top with an expressionless face.

Belinda Fletcher?

Immediately, the guests exchanged knowing looks. They could roughly guess what had happened.

They started to scold Belinda relentlessly. "You should've talked to Russell first instead of bullying this woman!"

"Indeed! A mature woman wouldn't resort to violence even when it comes to another woman. Rather, she should've learned to tame her husband!"

Belinda clenched her fists tightly. She was so pissed that she couldn't find any words to retort at the moment.

Those bystanders clearly had no interest in finding out the truth. They were too busy pointing fingers at Belinda with contempt and sneers.

Although Belinda and Russell Kameron were married, it was known to all in Eimbury that Belinda had practically snatched Russell away from Cassidy.

It was already gracious of Cassidy to not have taken revenge on that home-wrecker!

Belinda, on the other hand, hadn't stopped making things difficult for Cassidy since then.

At this moment, Russell quietly emerged from the crowd, frowning at the scene in front of him.

When they saw how displeased he looked, someone couldn't help but take pleasure in the spicy incident. "Russell, you're finally here. Your wife was just bullying this poor woman!"

Hearing this uncalled-for comment, Russell frowned.

He hurried to Cassidy's side, his eyes wrought with worry. "Are you okay, Cassidy? What happened?"

"I'm fine... It's not Belinda's fault... Sh-she didn't do it on purpose. It's actually me. I was just being clumsy..." Cassidy stammered in a feeble voice.

Not her fault?

Russell knew his wife very well. Belinda would do anything in her power to achieve her goal!

Russell flew into a rage and acted on impulse as soon as he heard Cassidy's side of the story. He rushed up the stairs and hissed at Belinda, "Apologize to Cassidy at once!"

His voice was so cold and indifferent, it was almost as if he was ordering a lowly slave instead of his wife. Belinda could feel her heart sinking to her stomach.

Apologize?

Her own husband didn't even bother to hear her side of the story and chose to believe Cassidy's account without question. How ironic!

With a bitter smile, Belinda raised her chin stubbornly and countered, "I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I apologize to her?"

"Is that so? Are you saying that Cassidy just rolled down from the staircase on her own?!"

"That's exactly what happened. She wants everyone to think that I pushed her down the stairs!"

Hearing this lame excuse, the guests burst into laughter and pointed at Belinda with scornful expressions.

How could anyone be stupid enough to roll down the stairs on their own accord?

Who would risk their own life just to set another person up?

No one would believe such a crazy story!

Including Russell.

Scowling, he grabbed Belinda without warning and dragged her down the stairs. Being caught off guard, Belinda lost her balance and her forehead slammed into the stair railing, which swelled up immediately.

But Russell had no pity on her at all. On the contrary, he said sarcastically, "Bravo! You deserve it! Now, apologize to Cassidy!"

"No. I didn't do anything wrong." Belinda shook her head stubbornly.

It was true! She had done nothing wrong!

How could she apologize for something she didn't do?!

"Russell, don't worry about me. I'm fine. I don't want you to fight with your wife over me."

At this time, Cassidy, who was sitting on the ground, rubbing her bruises with a pained expression, tried to mediate the situation.

However, her approach only served to make Russell even angrier. He glared at Belinda with unmasked rage, wondering how a woman could be so vicious.

He grabbed Belinda's chin roughly and snarled through gritted teeth, "Apologize or divorce. Make your choice!"

Belinda was taken aback by his resolute attitude. The crowd immediately broke into hushed whispers, gossiping about the couple in front of them heatedly. She, on the other hand, just stood there in silence.

Chapter 2 Completely Disappointed

"I told you before that a woman like her doesn't deserve to marry into our family!" Russell's mother, Lydia Kameron, said loudly.

Teresa Kameron, Russell's sister, had been watching this situation unfold quietly. Finally, she chimed in, saying, "Mom's right, Russell. Just divorce her already!"

Hearing their hateful comments, Belinda couldn't help but laugh at herself bitterly.

She and Russell had been married for three years.

And throughout those years, she always did whatever the Kameron family asked of her. In the end, she got nothing but disdain and harsh criticism in return!

They didn't even bother to listen to her side of the story.

How ironic!

Just then, someone reached for Belinda's hand and held it tightly. She looked up in surprise and found that it was Rena. The Kameron matriarch had come to her aid, glaring at everyone angrily.

"Bella would never do such a thing!"

Her firm words showed whose side she was on.

All of a sudden, Belinda felt a lump form in her throat.

Rena was the only person in this wretched family who had treated her well.

After saying that, Rena was about to lead Belinda away when Teresa suddenly stopped them.

"Grandma, you can't just say that! Belinda clearly pushed Cassidy down the stairs. Everyone saw it!"

Teresa jabbed her thumb at Cassidy, who was still sitting on the ground helplessly. "Look at how badly injured Cassidy is! If she wasn't so kind, we would've called the police by now! Grandma, you can't just take Belinda's word for it!"

"Get out of my way!" Rena snapped angrily. As she spoke, she glanced at Cassidy, who was watching her reaction intently.

She never liked this woman, and she refused to believe that Bella would do such a thing as hurting others.

But Teresa turned a deaf ear to her grandmother's orders and continued to criticize Belinda harshly. "Russell just wants an apology. Belinda hurt Cassidy, yet she refuses to say sorry. It's outrageous! You can't just protect her like this!"

Bypassing Rena, Teresa shoved Belinda violently. "Are you even listening to me? Apologize to Cassidy right now, or I won't let you go!"

Caught off guard, Belinda immediately lost her balance upon being shoved.

Rena stretched out her hand trying to catch her, but then she suddenly felt an overwhelming wave of dizziness. Soon, she blacked out and collapsed to the ground in a heap.

"Grandma!"

"Mom!"

"Mrs. Kameron!"

Chaos broke loose. In a state of panic, everyone hovered around the Kameron matriarch in an effort to lend a hand.

Meanwhile, Belinda, who was tossed aside like trash, helplessly struggled to stand up as blood oozed from the gash on her forehead. She felt so dizzy and exhausted that even after several attempts, she failed to stand up.

At last, she could do nothing but watch as Rena was carried away on a stretcher. The deafening sound of an ambulance's siren wailed until it faded in the distance.

The next second, a pair of leather shoes appeared in her sight out of a blue.

Before Belinda could even raise her head, she heard the man's indifferent voice. "You'll never be as good as Cassidy!"

What? She would never be on Cassidy's level?

After saying that, Russell left without giving her a chance to respond.

Belinda's heart ached.

It was true that she was no match for Cassidy.

She was neither vicious nor cunning, unlike Cassidy.

That was precisely how she ended up in this position.

Everyone pitied Cassidy and despised her thanks to Cassidy's schemes.

Blood kept trickling down from the gash on Belinda's forehead, mixing with the tears that rolled down her cheeks.

She lay on the floor helplessly and looked around in a daze. Why on earth had she insisted on staying in this marriage?!

"Move it and let us do our job!"

"We need to mop the floor. Hurry and get out of the way!"

"Look at her. How could the daughter-in-law of the Kameron family let herself go like this? Ha-ha-ha..."

The servants' mockery buzzed in her ears, making her nauseous.

Belinda struggled to raise her head and looked at them. Her vision was blurred, and she spoke in a hoarse voice. "Help... Help me call an ambulance..."

Chapter 3 Let's Get Divorced

The next time Belinda awoke, it was already in the morning.

She found herself still deserted on the living room floor.

She smiled and shook her head bitterly.

In this family, her status was so low that even the servants looked down upon her.

What was the point of staying here?

Just to return that person's favor?

Suddenly, Belinda heard footsteps approaching. Even before she looked up, she knew who it was. She endured the discomfort and struggled to sit up, trying to make one last effort.

"Russell, you-"

"Come with me and apologize to Cassidy right this instant!"

As soon as Russell started speaking, Belinda's last shred of hope dissipated.

It turned out that Russell had come not to help her, but to force her to apologize.

How pathetic she was for having even hoped he was here for her, not for Cassidy!

This was the man she had loved for over eight years!

But this whole time, only one woman occupied Russell's heart-and it was never Belinda.

At this very moment, Belinda finally made up her mind to give up on the man who didn't care about her at all.

She gritted her teeth and stood up, wincing in pain. When the two locked eyes, there wasn't a trace of affection in her gaze, but rather a cold and detached feeling.

It was said that once a woman decided to give up on her man, she'd be more resolute than a general in battle.

Belinda looked straight into Russell's eyes and spoke carefully, enunciating each word precisely. "It was Cassidy who threw herself down the stairs. I didn't push her. If you don't believe me, talk to the guests. Did any one of them see me push her down the stairs?"

Belinda's voice was calm and even alienating, as though she wasn't the one being accused.

Russell was so pissed off that he glared at her indignantly. Seeing this, Belinda smiled wryly and said out of the blue, "Russell, let's get a divorce."

Russell's face instantly changed.

He had thought that his wife would finally realize the error in her ways and apologize to Cassidy. On the contrary, this woman had decided to divorce him!

Wasn't she the one who had begged him to marry her in the first place?

Yet now she wanted to divorce?

Who gave her the right to leave him?

Russell's heart was full of anger as he saw her walking away. In a dangerously low voice, he threatened, "Step out that door and you can never come back again."

Belinda's smile widened.

She had expected this.

Since the moment she decided to divorce Russell, she had never thought of coming back! She refused to come back to this wretched place!

After leaving the living room, Belinda staggered and fell to the ground, exhausted.

She rubbed her aching temples and took out her phone to make a call.

After putting the phone down, she printed out two copies of the divorce agreements, packed up her personal belongings, and then waited quietly on the porch.

While waiting, she couldn't help but think of her old life. When she was a senior back in high school, the Lindfield family hadn't found her and taken her back yet. Her adoptive father was a useless gambler who often came to the school to make trouble for her, so she was always bullied by her classmates.

She had been miserable until the moment Russell came into her life.

In her last year of high school, Russell had always stood up for her and protected her. If it wasn't for him, Belinda doubted she would've pulled it off on her own.

Thinking about the past, Belinda couldn't help but laugh at herself bitterly. How could she have been so stupid to fall in love with such a coldhearted man?

She was out of her goddamned mind!

Just then, a bright red Maserati convertible pulled to a stop right in front of Belinda. The man behind the wheel was wearing a casual suit, and he whistled to her from the driver's seat.

"Belinda, why are you- Woah! What the hell?! What happened to you? You're hurt! Did you ram into a tree by accident or something?"

All of a sudden, the playful look on the man's face disappeared as he, Calvin Merrick, hurried out of the vehicle to check on her injury. Belinda thought fast and dodged his advances cleverly.

"It's no big deal. Come on. Take me to the hospital and let the nurses treat my wound."

"How could you be so careless?" Calvin scolded.

However, he considerately trotted over to the passenger side and opened the door for Belinda.

Belinda couldn't help but compare his kindness with Russell's indifference. Even an ordinary friend was so worried about her injury, whereas her own husband...

Whatever.

Russell simply just didn't care about her!
