Genre: Romance
On her wedding night, Lucilla was drugged by her mother-in-law and sent to a strange man's room. As for the bridegroom, he spent a wild night with the bridesmaid. Fuming with anger, she divorced her husband and left the country. Meanwhile, she found out herself pregnant. Five years later, she came back with the baby and ran into a man, whose features looked like her son. As a result, she was forced to get married to the man. Neither of them expected to fall in love with each other in this marriage. He gave her the privilege to reign and rule in his heart like a queen.

Chapter 1 Let's Get A Divorce.

As soon as Lucilla got a call from her husband, she ran with a cheery smile, holding the pregnancy test report in her hand. Panting, she reached the doorstep. One could tell she was overjoyed. "Honey, I'm pregna...."

Andrew cut her off. "Let's divorce!" he announced.

Pushing his suitcase, Andrew didn't even bother to enter inside. He threw the divorce agreement at Lucilla, his expression icy cold.

A woman was sitting on the suitcase, flaunting her beauty. Her curly hair fell on her cheeks, adding more beauty. Her red lips curved in a barely perceptible smile.

This woman was none other than Alina. Touching her belly, she said in a timid little voice, "Lucilla, I am having a child with Andrew."

Lucilla had just returned from the hospital. The smell of disinfectant still lingered on her body. Clenching her fists in anger, she spat out, "What! Are you kidding me?"

Andrew and Lucilla had been childhood sweethearts. Two months ago, they had decided to marry and make their relationship official. Alina was her only bridesmaid.

After their wedding night, Andrew had gone on a business trip abroad. However, it was almost like he had disappeared ever since. Nobody heard anything from him. As uneasy feeling crept on her, she decided to confide on her best friend Alina. To her surprise, Alina had disappeared too.

Now, they had returned together and was giving her the shock of her life.

They were having a child!

"Lucilla, we have been together for so many years. And you know very well I have never treated you badly. I think it would be best if we part ways in a decent manner!" Andrew handed her a check. His face was still expressionless. "Here's five million. And you can keep this house. It's all yours," he said in a slightly haughty way.

"Decent?" Lucilla repeated. She was stupefied by the news.

Andrew had asked her for a divorce!

And to make things worse, it was for Alina's sake!

They were having a child. It was too much to take.

"Andrew, what have I done to deserve this? If she is the one you love, why did you marry me?" Lucilla took a step forward and grabbed Alina's wrist. Her eyes were burning with rage. "My best friend is pregnant with my husband's child! How does it feel to spoil your best friend's life? You think this is funny? Being a mistress, a home wrecker?" she spat out angrily.

"Ah! Don't harm my baby," Alina wailed. She stumbled down from her suitcase and fell into Andrew's arms. Trembling with fear, she complained, "Andrew, my belly hurts..."

His face turned red with anger. He slapped Lucilla right across her face and asked, "Why are you so vicious?"

"Am I the vicious one here?" she retorted back and gave a little laugh. Gritting her teeth, she slapped the pregnancy test on his face. She was devastated. Her bottom lip quivered and tears started in her eyes. "Andrew, I'm pregnant, too!"

"What?"

His face was white with fury. He tore the paper into a million pieces. "Why do I care if you are pregnant or not? It's none of my business after all!" he spat out angrily.

"You!" Lucilla shouted and raised her hand in a frenzy of rage.

"I never touched you!" Andrew's eyes were brimming with coldness. "Take this bastard to your lover!" he added.

"What are you talking about?" She was in a state of shock.

"Lucilla, could you please stop pretending? Andrew and I don't want to hurt you. But you are making this difficult for us," Alina said, tears streaking down her face. She went on, "I really feel sorry for Andrew. He loves you so much, but you chose to sleep with another man on your wedding night. If Aunt Zoe hadn't managed to keep this from the public... What do you still expect from Andrew under the circumstance?"

As Lucilla heard these words, she stood frozen.

'With another man?' She turned pale and started to shiver. Wasn't it Andrew who had slept with her that night?

She hadn't drunk that day. However, she fell asleep overcome by fatigue. Although she was tired, she knew it when she was having sex with a man that night. She simply assumed it was Andrew because it was their wedding day!

She realized perhaps the tea prepared by her mother-in-law had something to do with her tiredness.

"There was something wrong with the tea sent by mom," explained Lucilla in a hurry

Before she could go on, Andrew cut her off. "Shut up!" "Lucilla, now you wish to put all the blame on my mother! If it weren't for her, your nude photos would be all over the world by now!"

Lucilla found herself in a helpless situation.

She wasn't doing anything wrong by defending herself!

Still, he wouldn't believe even a word she said.

And it seemed to be the undeniable fact that she indeed slept with another man.

"Okay, I'll sign it."

In the end, Lucilla conceded and signed the divorce agreement. She tore up the pregnancy test report and threw it on their faces. "Remember! What you did is considered marital infidelity!" she said to Andrew. Turning her attention to Alina, she said, "You are a shameless mistress! You both are terrible people."

Then she fled the scene, not once looking behind. She headed straight to the hospital. Leaning against the door of the obstetrics and gynecology department, she said, "Doctor, I want to get an abortion done."

Chapter 2 You Look A Lot Like My Son

Five years later, an incident took place at Airport Hotel in An City.

"Honey, you're driving me crazy," Myron said, his voice almost like a whisper. He reached out to hold the woman in his arms. His hands were beginning to rove over her clothes.

"Myron, you haven't divorced yet!" she reminded. Clad in a V neck dress, Lucilla's figure was accentuating all her assets. Her head cocked coquettishly on one side and she said, "I'm not the kind of woman who lets a man sleep with me so easily."

As soon as she made the statement, the elevator door opened.

A handsome man came across them. His expression was cold and a powerful aura emanated from him. He wore expensive suit. When he heard Lucilla's words, he was compelled to raise his hand. A look of disgust crept upon his face.

Myron, on the other hand, was overcome by lust. "Honey, I'm already going through the divorce procedure. That bitch has been looking for evidence to prove my infidelity. She seems determined to not let go of my property..."

At this, a cold light flashed across Lucilla's eyes. She pushed him against the door and said, "Then why are you behaving so boldly? What if they find you here with me?"

"My assistant is watching her for me. It's going to be okay!" Myron took a look around the room. It was decorated elaborately for sexual purpose. "You sly little thing! You have carefully decorated it yet you seemed hell-bent on maintaining a distance from me! Come here and allow me to kiss you."

Lucilla smiled coquettishly and whispered something in his ear. Myron immensely walked towards the bathroom and said, "You sure know how to play! Wait for me. I'll be right back."

As soon as the bathroom door was closed, the smile on Lucilla's face disappeared. "You shameless old thing!" she muttered under her breath. She dialed her client's number and said, "Ms. Doris, we have got the evidence. You can come and catch him for adultery."

Holding her bag, she walked out of the room. When she had met that stranger's cold eyes, she was struck by his outstanding looks. She also felt an inexplicable sense of familiarity between. His smile especially rang a bell.

Franklyn once again passed by her with an expressionless face.

Lucilla, who was used to getting attention, was a bit disappointed.

'What's wrong with him? Why is he putting on airs? Just because he is handsome?' she wondered. Frowning, Lucilla turned around and left. She shook her head at his arrogance. "My son is more handsome than you!" she said.

It was then when she saw Myron's assistant running towards the room while making a phone call. "That woman is a lawyer. She set a trap and he fell for it. Send someone to hold Lady Doris back. I'll go speak to Mr. Myron."

Overhearing this conversation, the expression on Lucilla's face changed. She had nowhere to go!

Upon seeing Franklyn was about to close the door of his room, an idea struck Lucilla's mind. She tried to squeeze in through the crack of the door. The assistant didn't see her face and only caught sight of her red dress disappearing behind a closed door.

Once inside, Lucilla pulled her dress in and closed the door carefully. "Help me, please!" she implored.

Franklyn's face was set in a cold expression. He grabbed her wrist and was about to throw her out. "Get out!" he spat out angrily.

Just then, Lucilla heard Myron's voice from outside. "Don't let that woman get away! I am pretty sure she has recorded everything that took place," he said in an agitated voice.

Hearing that, she felt a shiver of apprehension. She threw herself into Franklyn's arms and said, "If I go out now, all my efforts will be in vain!"

Blue veins stood out on his forehead. He was so ready to throw her out. Before he could do so, someone knocked on the door.

"Bitch, you must be in here! You can't run away. Open the door!" Myron said in a threatening voice.

Franklyn opened a crack of the door and said to Lucilla, "Just get out of here."

Lucilla's eyes filmed over with tears. "No, he is a very dangerous man. Why would you throw a woman into a lion's den? Don't you have an ounce of humanity in you? Please help me!" she pleaded again.

She spoke in a choked voice. It was obvious she was trying to gain his sympathy. For a brief second, her watery eyes had put Franklyn into a trance.

Taking advantage of this, she turned over and pressed him against the door. She held him in her arms and wouldn't let go of him.

When Myron was about to push the door open, his fingers almost got into the door. "Bitch, do you think you can hide from me forever? I will get you and I'll kill you!" he warned.

A fierce look had crept on Franklyn's face. He pressed her waist and was about to throw her out. "You're courting death!"

"Ouch! You are hurting me," Lucilla said, making a whimpering sound.

This further annoyed him and he widened his eyes. "Shut up!" he ordered.

That instantly shut her up. She pressed herself on him and tightly clasped the door frame, not giving him a chance to throw her out. "I won't hurt you. I will leave very soon," she assured him.

Why couldn't he help her?

She eyed him but he gave no response.

As she gazed at him and took in their current posture, a weird thought struck her mind. She wanted to dismiss it but it insisted on remaining.

In the corridor, Myron could see the door suddenly began to shake, and there was sound of both the woman and man panting. Myron, who was certain Lucilla was inside, began to have some doubts. He grabbed his assistant's collar and demanded, "This floor contains nothing but VIP suites. How could that woman enter without a card? Are you sure you aren't mistaken?"

A doubtful look crossed the assistant's face. "I am not sure, but I did spot her dress."

Myron shook his head and said, "You useless thing. I hear people making love inside this room! There's no way she's inside. That woman must have run away." Myron dragged his assistant away while he spat curses. "We must catch her or else we will be done for!"

Once Lucilla heard their footsteps fade, she let out a sigh of relief. Smiling awkwardly, she said, "They have gone. Thank you for your help." She stared at him for a few seconds and it dawned on her why his face seemed so familiar. "To be honest, you look a lot like my son. But your temper is really bad."

There was a murderous light in his eyes. Opening the door, he said, "Get out!"

With a bang, the door was shut. He had almost knocked her head in his fury. Outraged by his reaction, she kicked on the door and said, "Your terrible temper goes to show you will never have a girlfriend!"

Chapter 3 Indeed Intimidating

In the expansive hotel lobby, there was a child around four years old dressed in a hoodie, denim suspenders, and he was wearing his cap backwards. Everything about him was cool and fashionable.

"That kid is so handsome! He could have a future as a movie star!" a receptionist crooned. All the female employees were overwhelmed with his cuteness. They all went forward to take photos with him.

In spite of being a child, a cold light flashed through his eyes. His round and charming eyes were upon them. His presence exuded an aura that compelled people to give him all their attention.

A female employee whispered as a realization struck her, "This kid looks like our CEO."

As soon as she finished her words, the child flashed a smile. He jumped off the table and ran forward. Lucilla had arrived and he threw himself into her arms.

When his face broke into a smile, it made thousands of girls' hearts melt!

The female employee covered her heart and said, "I have to admit our boss lost! This child is even more charming!"

Lucilla was sending the evidence to the client when her thigh was held by the little boy.

Looking up, he exclaimed excitedly, "Mom, you're divorced again!"

His loud and cheery voice reverberated in the air.

The mother and son instantly became the focus of everyone's attention in the lobby.

'Divorced again?

What does this mean?' Everybody began to wonder.

Lucilla found herself in a very embarrassing position.

Smiling awkwardly, she lightly pinched her son's face. "How many times should I tell you I am not divorced? I am merely helping my clients get divorced," she corrected.

It dawned on everyone that she was a divorce lawyer. Still, they felt she was almost too pretty to be a lawyer.

"I was almost correct! Mom, even if you want a divorce, you cannot divorce," he added with a smile. Talbot blinked and held her hand. "Mom, when will you take me to my father? We haven't visit him in years, and the grass around his tomb must be growing wild. I have to be a dutiful son and hoe the grass." His voice had assumed a serious tone.

Lucilla hadn't expected her son to actually believe in the story she made up. She quickly changed the topic and said, "Let's find a place to stay first."

With a sly smile on his face, Talbot said, "We no longer need to worry about it. Aunt Loretta has had it covered. It's actually quite close to the kindergarten."

The truth was, Lucilla had divorced, and she fed her child the lie that his father was dead! However, the little boy actually knew everything.

He had made it his mission to get back at the scumbag who had hurt his mother.

When he went to that kindergarten, he would have a chance to avenge the cruelty of his father.

With a surprised look on her face, Lucilla picked up her son and placed a tender kiss on his forehead. "Talbot, you are a very capable boy. I am your mother but you have already taken up all the responsibility. I feel like there isn't much use of me."

"No, how could you say that?" Talbot shook his head, looking offended. "You are responsible for making me love you," he added with a smile.

She continued to stare at her lovely child and rub his curly hairs.

She had been in bad health when she asked for an abortion back then. They told her she wasn't suitable for one. Thanks to that, she was now forever grateful for giving birth to this little angel.

There was nothing more beautiful in her life.

The mother and son then walked out, talking and laughing. The female employee glanced at the photo she had clicked. With a contemplative look, she asserted, "This child doesn't look much like his mother.

I think he looks like our CEO very much. Perhaps he is Mr. Franklyn's illegitimate child."

As soon as she finished her words, the elevator door opened. Everyone held their breath and gave up talking. Their gaze was fixed upon the man who had walked out of the elevator.

He was clad in well-tailored suit that perfectly set off his broad shoulder and bee waist. The buttons of the shirt were slightly crinkled. And the suit jacket still gave off the smell of Lucilla's womanly perfume.

Franklyn's face was contorted with anger. The lobby manager and a group of senior executives of the company followed him respectfully and wanted to introduce the general situation of the hotel to him. "Mr. Franklyn, this quarter..."

"This quarter's profit was dropped by three percentage points and all budgets were severely overspent." Franklyn stopped and looked at the senior executives with a cold expression. "The headquarters asked you to manage the hotel! Do you think you are dealing with a nursing home here?"

"Mr. Franklyn, it isn't just us. The whole industry is in a downturn this year," the leader explained patiently. Before he could give further explanation, Franklyn threw the documents on his face. With a sneer, he said, "Do you think that will excuse your mistakes?"

Sweat began to dribble down the manager's forehead. None of them dared to utter a word.

The female employees could feel their hearts pounding. They gazed at the photos in their mobile phones. The more they looked at it, the more certain they became that the CEO bore an uncanny resemblance to the little child. Their voices sank into a confidential whisper. "They are both exactly alike!" one of them said.

As this discussion ensued, a shadow fell over one woman's head and the phone was snatched away, The female employee was startled. When she saw it was Franklyn who had taken her phone away, her fear magnified. "Mr. Franklyn, I'm sorry," she stammered.

Everyone looked at her with pitiful yet reproachful eyes. 'She should have been careful! She has gotten herself into trouble!' they thought.

Overcome by fear, she was on the verge of tears.

Franklyn's eyes fell on the phones the employee took. He felt a strange emotion. 'Was this the son of that woman?' he wondered.

He parted his lips slightly and said, "We look alike?"

The lady who was being questioned trembled with fear. "I won't repeat this mistake," she promised.

"Your phone will be confiscated," said Franklyn, his cold expression turning colder.

Having said that, he left.

Everyone else stood with their mouth agape. 'So he has just left like this!'

The female employee felt lucky to get away with it as she thought to herself, 'Mr. Franklyn is indeed very intimidating.'
