"Men are all pigs!"
Lily Wen staggered out of the bathroom. Although she was drunk, the scene of her fiance, Michael Cheng, hooking up with another woman filled her mind. She turned green at the thought.
A waiter came up to her, anxious that she might actually throw up.
"Miss, are you all right? Do you need help?"
"Help me what?" Lily Wen narrowed her eyes as she lazily pointed her finger at the waiter. "You think you can help me find a man?"
Her voice echoed throughout the bar. She was a beauty! Everyone would want her. In fact, everyone would want to have a taste of her.
"What?" Before the waiter could mitigate the situation at hand, Lily Wen was already approaching another man, swaying her hips to the beat.
"He seems quite handsome," she murmured to herself. Her fingers skimmed all over the man's slightly grim face as her other hand fell on the man's chest. She smelt like alcohol as she leaned in closer. "You're not so bad. I want you."
Kevin Qin's face turned cold at the sight of the woman touching his body. He held his jaw tightly.
"Get your hands off me," he snarled.
He hated these kind of women.
Just as he was about to push her away, Lily Wen stood on her toes and whispered into the man's ear.
"Isn't one million enough for you?"
The smell of perfume and alcohol filled his nostrils that he couldn't help but scrunch his nose.
Kevin Qin raised his hand and clenched it into a fist. There was a glint in his eyes as he was processing the thought over.
"One million?" His eyes twitched.
Was he just worth one million?
"Is it not enough then?" She stumbled around. "I can raise the price if you got skills."
"You're asking for it!" Kevin Qin narrowed his eyes. He extended an arm and wrapped it around Lily's waist before pulling her into the elevator. His expression was daunting like a predator in hunt for his prey.
The men around him scattered like a colony of ants.
All of his men stood in front of the elevator, guarding their entrance.
Once they were in, Kevin pressed Lily up against the wall and grabbed her chin, pushing it up till she was facing him. The drunken breath of the woman made him even more furious. "Say it again."
She gasped. As her mind pictured her ex, she forced out a smile. "One million, and hmph!"
Before she could finish her words, Kevin lowered his head to hers, kissing her hard. He bit her lips in the process, and she groaned.
It hurt!
It felt as if she was being suffocated to death. However, as she tried to push Kevin away, he grabbed her wrists and held them close to the wall. She wasn't able to move, making him do whatever he wanted with her.
The elevator door opened, and without another thought, he carried her up into his room. "Do you regret it now?" he snarled. "Well, it's too late."
Once he kicked the door open, he threw the struggling woman onto the bed. Seeing the panic on her face only made him sneer.
"You said you'll raise the money right? Keep that in mind."
The next thing she knew was that he was already on top of her, holding her down. He was everywhere, kissing her neck and biting her lips.
"Wait, wait..." she gasped out.
"Regret now? It's too late!" He pressed her under him, giving her no chance to move.
She tossed and turned all night, tears running down her cheeks as she tried to find a way out but there was no used.
He kissed her the entire night and even forced her to admit that it was good when it wasn't.
It was a nightmare!
The next day.
On the big bed in the middle of the presidential suite were two naked bodies wrapped around the white quilt. The man was handsome with a very muscled figure. In his arms was a delicate woman, sleeping soundly in his grasp.
When Lily opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the rise and fall of Kevin's chest. She was in his arms, his muscles curling around her like a cocoon.
It was a strange feeling. She furrowed her eyebrows as the pain from last night swept over her like a hurricane, stunning her immediately.
What had happened last night?
As last night's memories returned, her cheeks were turning redder and redder as her heart was already beating quickly in her chest. She got out of bed in a hurry and picked up her clothes, not even daring to look at the man in the bed.
She remembered how she'd told him that she'd give him a million dollars, when in reality, she didn't bring that much cash along.
After hesitating, she left an IOU slip on the table.
She might as well.
Half an hour after she left, the man finally woke up.
He shivered, stretching his arms to his side. It was cold. When he glanced around and didn't find her, he furrowed his eyebrows, sitting up.
The quilt dipped down, revealing the intricate v-line at the end of his abdominals.
As memories of last night entered his mind, he couldn't help but smile at himself.
However, as he glanced at his bed, there was absolutely no sign of the girl.
Even if he glanced at the bathroom, the woman was still nowhere to be seen. His face darkened.
Did she really take him for a prostitute?
Once he placed everything in order, Kevin walked out of the room. His assistant, who had just arrived, immediately reported. "Miss Wen had just left in a hurry," he stated.
"Miss Wen?"
"Lily, the eldest daughter of Wen family."
After a short pause, the assistant added, "She's also Mr. Michael's bride-to-be."
Kevin furrowed his eyebrows, deep in thought as he was trying to match her identity with the woman in his mind. "The daughter of Haber Wen?" he said gruffly, fixing the cuffs of his sleeves.
"Yes."
His eyes flashed as Kevin remembered the news regarding Haber Wen. This was going to be interesting.
Right then, Lily returned back home in a hurry. Before she could recover from last night's events, she saw a flurry of police cars parked outside their gates. Among them stood her mother who was crying her heart out.
She pushed through the crowd, trying to reach her mother. "Mom!" she said urgently. "What's going on?"
Holly Qi's eyes were already red and swollen. The moment she saw her daughter, she burst out crying, grabbing Lily's upper arms. "Your father– he's being arrested."
"Arrested? What happened?" Lily froze, feeling as if this was all a dream and that she'd wake up from this horrendous nightmare. Her father had been nothing short of honesty. "That's impossible! He was just here..."
Holly Qi choked. "Please, Lily, save him.."
However, before she could respond, her mother had already fainted into her arms.
"Mom!"
The people around them called the ambulance as Lily screamed for help.
"This is what he deserves! Broke the law and implicate his wife and daughter. They might as well just take the house!" one yelled out.
"Yeah! Stealing taxes like that, the nerve!"
Hearing their shouts of agreement took a toll on Lily. She squatted on the ground, letting her tears fall onto the pavement helplessly.
As they brought her mother to the hospital, her mind was still a mess.
Why did everything change overnight?
"Why are you still sitting here? Go find someone to save your father!"
The familiar voice made Lily lift her head. She saw that it was Michael Cheng with a sneer in his face.
"Guess you're also looking for a sleep-in then? Pretending to be so innocent, when in reality, you're just a bitch!" He snorted, motioning at her marks.
"Shut up!" Lily roared.
"How funny! Do you think you're a lady? Your father's already in jail. I'll give you a chance. I mean, if you kneel down and beg, I'll consider taking your mother in–"
Slap!
His head swung to the side as his cheek reddened. He snarled. "Bitch! Do you want to die?"
Lily raised her hand, about to slap him again only to be grabbed roughly by Michael Cheng. His eyes were already clouded with unknowable fury. "You want to slap me again? You want to be a prostitute right? I think I can make that happen."
All she was seeing was red as she snarled at him to release her.
"Don't pretend to be so innocent." He raised one of his hand, about to bring it down to her face.
She closed her eyes, waiting for the pain to come. After a few seconds, she furrowed her eyebrows when it didn't.
Lily opened her eyes to see someone else standing beside her, a man dressed in a tailored suit. There was something about him that screamed power and money.
His slender hand grasped around Michael's wrist as he said coldly, "Let go of her."
"Mind your own business, man!"
Michael snorted as the figure appeared right in front of him.
However, just as he realized who the man was, he stuttered, suddenly taking interest in his shoes. "Kevin..."
"Fuck off!"
Kevin interrupted coldly, his eyes glaring daggers at Michael.
However, Michael stayed, still not willing to give up on Lily. He stared at her as if he hadn't heard the warning.
Kevin's eyes darkened when Michael didn't move an inch. He then gripped the man's wrist harder, hearing him groan in disbelief. "I asked you to get away," he said snidely. "Didn't you hear me?"
If looks could kill, Michael would be ten feet under, that was for sure.
As he looked back at Kevin and calculated his own chances, he gritted his teeth and left.
Lily frowned, rubbing her aching wrist. She gave a polite smile at the man beside her, bowing her head. "Thank you," she murmured.
Although her smile was strained from all the recent events that had happened to her, her eyes were bright with relief as she stared at him, not being able to recognize the man in front of her.
Kevin raised an eyebrow. "You slept with me and you don't even recognize me?" "What?"
Lily felt her body shrinking at the accusation. Suddenly, her memory started coming back and her cheeks had already turned ten times redder.
He was the man from last night! Her nails dug into the palms of her hands.
"I... Is it..."
She struggled to speak, but found herself failing under the man's intimidating stare.
The man only kept silent as he stared, rendering her whole body numb.
After a few seconds, she finally was able to regain her composure. "Are you– are you here for the money then?"
The one million she had promised was gone now, gone with all the money had been confiscated from them.
Kevin burst into laughter. The coldness drifted off from his face as an amused expression took over. He really had no idea what she was thinking.
However, she was interesting.
He bent over till his breath fanned the tip of her nose. They were already at eye-level.
"If I am, do you have the money now?"
Lily took a step back subconsciously, uncomfortable at how close the man was to her.
However, he only seemed to be even more encouraged to move closer to her till she found herself back up against the wall with no way out.
They were so close with each other that their lips were just a few centimeters apart. Thinking back to what had happened, she found that it was no use to lie.
"No, I don't.
But whatever,
it's not like it's official. The IOU I've given you isn't officially signed so..."
Lily trailed off with a shrug. She was fearless. However, he could trace the guiltiness and nervousness in her gaze, which hooked him even more.
This was definitely fun.
Kevin shrugged. Besides, it wasn't as if he was in a hurry.
"I can help you solve all your problems."
A ray of hope lit up in her heart. She gaped at him. Given how he treated Michael just earlier, he must be somebody important then.
However, she knew that everything came with a price. She wasn't a fool.
"What do you want?"
A smile curved his lips. He had to admit, he liked how the woman thought.
"Marry me."
"Are you crazy?"
Lily blinked, trying to register what he had just said. 'Is he serious?'
Hearing her say that, his eyes darkened at the blatant refusal.
"I don't think you understand your current situation well, Miss Wen."
She sneered. "I could be down in the ditches and I still won't marry a stranger."
"Stranger?" Kevin snorted.
He bent over once again.
She felt the coldness enveloped her, making her step backwards further subconsciously.
"Do you normally sleep with strangers?" he said lightly. Even then, there was something sinister in his words.
She stiffened. "Don't act like you didn't like it. We're all grown-ups here!" She took a deep breath. "Look, just give me your card number and I'll transfer it to you later, okay?"
Kevin pressed his lips together.
The tension was just too real. As she looked up at his gloomy gaze, panic spread across her.
She was already finding it difficult to breathe.
Just when Lily thought he was about to lose it, he straightened his back, and the gloomy expression was gone. She sagged her shoulders in relief.
Kevin then wrote something on a piece of paper before stuffing it into her hands.
