Iniko

"This burns me more than a BBQ!" says my friend Rebbeca under her black umbrella, just sightseeing with me for a while.

She says as she looks under her umbrella. At times I swear she is no Lycan or werewolf, constantly sleepy in the day, moody, and I have never heard her talk about her wolf or Lycan. Nobody can see her, so I always talk to her as if she is real.

I know I'm a bit older not to be, you know, talking to my imaginary friend but seeing her lonely gets to me, and I don't like making her feel bad. Rebbeca is a young blonde, skinny and pale. She is always in victorian clothes, dark clothes, and very imaginary. She is sweet in her voice, charming with her movements, and a funny girl always full of adventures nicknamed her Ree.

"Then I think it's time you go back to work, and I do too. See you tonight, Ree." I tell her as we part ways.

My name is Iniko, and I'm a slim boy of brown color, big dark brown curls, im well kept in hair cuts, I have thin hoop earrings, thick eyebrows, brown eyes, heart face with a more rounded nose, I'm fit in the body for a 17-year-old, my birthday is tomorrow, so I am almost a man with a wolf.

I am always in button tropical shirts of light colors with short button pants and sandals. I wear caps when I work out delivering things, been doing that since I was ten after school, earning my keep is not easy I never have a single dollar on me because I am saved, which is something I don't like at all, if you want a way better image of how I look like Brandon Mcguire is the best I can tell you, but I'm his better version.

I live here on an island named Aguiebana, this island that helps raise their kind of only Lycans, and werewolves help the Lycan's here, I'm an orphan that one day I guess my parents left me in the islands the main packhouse being raised by the Alpha Drake in his pack on the island, Ever Green Pack, as a payment for staying I help in the protection of the Lycans, which honestly is somewhat unfair.

They are the ones who need our protection, or so the Alpha says, but they don't even try to be grateful to us; instead, they bully us. I try not to let it get to me, seeing as I owe everything to the Alpha. He and Luna Marena are like the best parents I have ever had, and I never once tried to be on their wrong side.

I ride my bike to the big blue building in the center where I work. It's literally like a department building, and it's centered in the territory where the houses where the Lycans live are. I help distribute their meals, clothes, toys, medications, mail, and anything they ask as I walk up to the center gates where security is.

I gave them my ID to enter. I sat ahead since I was on the beach. I was a bit late, but nothing working would get me out. I park my bike in its space, but the chains, and lock it, taking the key with me. I stop as I hear the car with the meat stop.

A neighbor waves at me, " Hey Iniko, help me with this in the building, will you? I will be right behind you with more before they get their claws out at me again."

He hands me a plastic bag that has the meat's in them. I take it in and see the Luna is looking for someone. When she sees me, she calms down, other she-wolves follow her, she walks to me and takes the bag. I try to protest because a luna is not somebody who should be doing this type of job. But, she takes care of others' needs with our help.

Luna Marena looks like a cheerleader from the super bowls type, long ironed black hair, really shiny bronze tan, bright green eyes, she has a curvy body but flat on her chest and a shallow voice, all werewolves here are 6.00 up, she is 6.02 taller than me, for now, I am 6.00 now, ones I get my wolf I will change in the body.

She takes me by the shoulds, and we walk out to a BMW. I walk in with her. As we sit, she looks a bit nervous, not the first time she is looking for me and can't find me, and I put my hand on hers to help her calm down;

The Luna takes my attention with our conversation. "How have you been?"

"I have been good, been at the ocean for a while, looked like a lovely time in the morning to get some vitamin D," I replied her as I saw her shifting uncontrollably, not feeling con trouble with my situation.

"It is a very sunny day out, has any plans for tomorrow? It's something the Alpha and I kind of need to know." She adds she sounds out of this conversation like she is trying to fill in the conversation absent-mindedly.

Iniko- Well, no, only my first shift and getting to find my mate like all other werewolves, why? Is everything okay?

I feel like she is interrogating me on this, she has done it for the Alpha before, and it's always something they don't tell me till I ask. Still, as I do, we stop in the packhouse, I have a shift to do so I can earn my keep in staying here with everyone else, but I'm being moved here by my Luna during my work hours.

"Please don't make things difficult, Iniko. I have excused you from work till we have your wolf, okay? So take it as a free day." The Luna tells me with a warning tone.

"Luna Marena, what's going on?" My worried tone squeaks out.

She et's out of the BMW and in the packhouse, my two warrior friends Kealan and Chase, they look uncomfortable in how they are standing, I walk behind the Luna as my two friends walk beside me each, inside the Alpha is talking to his Beta Philip, I am very nervous they should be working but here they are talking while we walk to them.

Alpha Drake is the big strong muscled Alpha, and he works in the pack all the time. He never allows a day to be wasted, bold brown with tattoos all over him, wearing a crop top and blue basketball shorts, sandals with his sunglasses on his head one can see his brown eyes he has a slim face as he has no neck, he has his arms crossed on his chest and is 6.05.

Beta Phillip is similar, but he has one heck of an afro with its metal brush stuck on the side; he wears a tree pal black button tropical shirt, and under a thin white shirt with green trunks, he's 6.04 and is accessible on tattoos with his sandals laughing at their conversation.

As soon as they see me, their faces change. What did I do that made them this angry? Was it Cayden and his anger with me? He always fights with me. I don't know why. Yes, the girl he crushes is beautiful, Anvi, even I like her a lot, but why bother to try when I know she will never want a guy like me? I'm not even a warrior that could provide her with something.

The Alpha asks me. "How are you feeling, Iniko?"

"Me? Nervous afraid, and can anyone please tell me what is going on? Luna Marena has been acting weird, and so have my friends who are by my side on duty. Alpha, what is happening?"

"Iniko, they have made it clear to me that you need to stay far away from werewolves to make sure your curse ends here." Says my Alpha, almost like a command to not defy him.

"Curse? What do you mean curse? I have never known of a curse." I'm shocked, and with fear, I can't explain.

I was livid, I had done nothing wrong, but here they are making me be a bad person when I had done nothing to them. My two friends put their hands on my shoulders to pin me still as the Luna goes to stand behind the Alpha, the Beta places his hand on the Alpha.

The Beta takes control of the conversation or tries to. "I will make sure to do Alpha as we talked about, make sure his father knows he is safe.

I don't understand what they are telling me, the words just fly out of my lips. "My father? You can."

I wake up with a massive headache. I try getting up from my bed, but I can't because I feel my body twitching on its own. I feel my bones crack, and my head is splitting itself from me to something. It hurts so much.

This pain has me screaming, "AAAaaaa!!!!"

It hurts so much, and I don't hear anyone. I have my eyes closed, no way to see my surroundings, praying to the moon goddess my pain leaves me. I finally feel my body rearranging, but it feels like it's being put together much differently. I am shifting, and it's my birthday. I can agree this is the worst feeling ever. When I see Ree again, I will ask her, what is the worst first shift or giving birth? That should be an exciting debate.

Setting aside the idea that I am being beaten with a hammer, then being put together like clashing my flesh with a taser gun and a brick of a hit that comes with it. It is so much worse than when I saw it from others.

My skin feels like someone took hot metal and poured it all over my body. It is so painful, and I feel something growing out of me, like when you sneeze and that big relief of losing that bugger after blowing your nose? That is how it feels, but it feels even worse because it's not just my nose it's my entire body. My head I can feel it as I have an inner conversation.

'Hello?' Says a voice I have never heard before in my head.

"Hello?' I answer, terrified and in pain.

'My name is David, and I'm your wolf. Sorry for the pain; you tried to make it horrible to shift. It seems we are in a good place for a run.' He says, a bit more calmed than I am, leaving me dumbfounded.

"Uh? I don't know where we are, can I see?

Before I can react to this inner conversation, it ends as I look out thru my wolf's eyes and see we are on the beach. I look behind me to see the Beta. I don't feel comfortable with him. After what I went thru, it is not okay to be doing these things.

I mean, I am technically an adult am 18 now, even though on the island, one has to be 21 to do other grown-up stuff. So I move to the side where the Beta is, and he proceeds to see me. I see my two friends looking at me; happily, they already have their wolves. They were born in the early months. My birthday is October 31. Yea, happy Halloween to me.

Philip says, "I knew it. You are no average wolf. Your wolf is an Alpha, a pure-blooded one. So it seems we have a case to deal with." Annoyed at me, and from that, he minds linking.

'You need to run?' Phill asks me.

Daniel growls at Phillip, "Why are you treating Iniko so rude?'

Phillip laughs at Daniel. 'Rude? You and Iniko are cursed, and we can't allow harm to come to our pack. So, for now, you will move with Iniko to the Lycan homes. We have a vacant home. You will be there with the Lycans' rest until your father returns here.'

"You say I am Alpha?' His cold voice asks the Beta.

As Phillip walks around Daniel, he answers him again. 'Yes, you are pure-blooded Alpha.'

My wolf is in complete control as he asks, "Where is my pack?'

'Later, you will know. Go and run. The warriors and I will follow. Tonight is your last night in the packhouse, understood?' He informs us sternly.

"Alright." Say's my wolf as he then ends the mind linking

Just like that? I am kicked out for being something I had no idea about, and I was never told about the curse either. I don't even know what the curse is about. I go back to the back of my wolf's brain, and I am conflicted with all of this. Does that mean I won't see Ree or Kealan and Chase? No, what if I never get to tell Anvi how much I like her? So many questions and I'm not allowed to know their answers.

Daniel must have run a marathon and rolled on the sand like a dog instead of a wolf, but before we leave. I can feel him getting to where I am, so I am close to him. I am in no mood for more of the Beta; clearly, my friends would rather have me submit than making a big deal. I never answer violence with more violence unless I am left with no choice.

'Look at your wolf thru my eye Iniko, for you to see what I look like.' So says Daniel in my head.

I take control of my new body only to see a white wolf. It's an odd dog because I only have a rose on the middle of my forehead, my eyes are like my own, brown, and I look big, like an Alpha. I see that this is the only time I will see myself in the water. I move to the side of my body to see black swirls around me.

I turn my body and grab my tail to see it clearly, but the water shows nothing. I look straight to see the swirls going up, and there's a line with dots going up on my tail. I let go of my bottom and moved to my other side to see the same thing.

I look down, trying to see my belly, but thankfully I see no lines. I hear running, so I look on my side to see Kealan and Chase. They shift to their wolves, and I look up. I am not interested in what the girls are. I move back to looking in the water. Someone whistles, so I look behind me to see them fully dressed.

'Guess it's time to go, furry pal.' I tell Daniel.

We walk back to behind a palm tree. I put my old clothes on, so I see that the Beta has arrived. I walk back to the ocean. I won't be able to come back here. The Lycans hate the water but love the heat, so we have them in the center of the island, far from water, but in the middle to where the sun is.

Rebbeca speaks to me, "Ou my! You finally shifted!!! I saw you looking at the water but never thought you would be so different, never saw a wolf with your marks."

"I think that's the curse. Don't ask about the curse, please. That is all I know. Ugh, what a horrible birthday. So much for enjoying it. Before you leave now, I can't ever come back here, Ree." I tell her.

"Why not? I don't let anyone see me when I am here, and neither do you?" She asks, concerned.

"The Beta, apparently the Alpha with Luna, agrees to have me move in with them." My broken voice comes out.

"I can't get there undetected..... Mmmm, will you have a house? If you do, I can pop there, my friend Marving can take me there, but I will be there with two more friends." She says, hopeful and thinking of ways that smile at me, a sad one.

"Okay? Well, I will see you later. Meet me in my room the usual." I tell her, a bit confused.

"Okay! " She says with a joyful tone.

I get back to walk back and see the Beta waiting. I wanted my first shift to be this good celebration because I have worked so hard for it, but no. I ended up being monitored as if I did anything to deserve this. I walk back to them, and we walk to a Jeep. I got on the back in between Chase and Kealan. The drive was in awkward silence, so we arrived at the front of the house.

When I walk in, there's a man with long white-colored french braided hair. He has earrings on his pointy ears with makeup on like liner on his eyes, black lipstick, in an all-black suit, including his fancy shoes. A woman with almost white, really light pink-colored hair, wearing a tight magenta sparkling dress, turns around, and I see her overdone makeup with long magenta-colored nails that have a rose tattoo in her chest just like the one David has in his front head.

I don't feel good about this. I walk to my room, there I get in what was supposed to be my room, but I see my posters, my bed, and even what was my desk is all gone, as if someone came in and took everything off. I didn't think much of it, so I hit the bed like a rock. I am so tired from the run that I sleep with a nightmare. It was only that lady, but she was dancing in a white gown with a man in a white tux.

When I hear a knocking on the door, that wakes me up since I don't have my clock so I don't have a single idea what time is it, so I get up stretching my limbs, I open the door and it's the Luna, I groan of annoyance. I open the door for her, I still have to be respectful. She goes in and turns really fast to look at me as I just closed the door.

"I know this is not the best way to celebrate your birthday, we have asked the leader of the Lycans to allow your friends to have a small party in your house. I came to escort you there myself but I wanted to give you this small present, hope you like it." I hear Luna say from the other side of the door, feeling like my dau will not get any better I follow to answer her awkwardly.

"Thanks, I appreciate the thought and will you be there with the Alpha or will you both be too busy?" I ask in a hopeful but tired tone.

"I'm afraid we won't be there when your father arrives this evening and we need to be ready to talk with him on really important matters. I apologize for us both." She quickly ads.

"It's okay, hope things get solved. Will I be able to meet my dad?" I keep asking, maybe soon she can say something good.

"Yes, you will, by law, you are old enough to make certain choices like meeting your dad and mom, but your mom won't be coming here, please try to understand it is rules we need to follow for your own good." Hearing her dictate me and saying it with annoyance, I decide it's best to get up and get things done.

"I respect your decisions, I would like to go to the house now, I have many things to do too." After making sure everything is good to go, I open the door to see her.

She has her hands folded on her chest, "Okay, follow me." She turns.

She walks out and I can feel tears roll down my face. My face was really soft while holding back my tears. I cleaned them up, I walked to her as my tears cleared, I put the small box in the back pocket, I got in a BMW. There are many types of cars the Alpha and Luna use, the Luna usually is in a BMW so this doesn't surprise me. It has taken me quite a while to not let the pain of being alone get to me, I mean a man for god's sake, crying is for babies.

We enter the gate and literary we pass near the center building where I work there is a house on the side it's like 10 minutes walk in my bike its cut in half, it's been abandoned for a while, it's a cement house, just like all the houses here, or made of wood, but those who live on the wood are in either up the hills hidden away or on top of where the sea waters meet the sands land.

All the houses are painted in bright colors, the house I will be living in is a bright orange color. It's hidden between palm trees, pine trees, platano trees, flambollanes, and ceiba trees. I go in the house and there are boxes of my stuff, I am holding on so tight then I hear a voice and I flinch, the Luna came out of her BMW with 3 more omegas, they start putting stuff on away.

"I am going to help you make sure the house feels like home a bit, I will also be visiting as I have been so I know you are alright, Okay Iniko?" I nod at her question.

"Sure, thanks for the help," I answer as I walk away from her.

I put stuff where they go with the help of everyone else as we do I stop for a minute, my stomach starts to rumble, I realize I have no food in my own house. I go out of the bathroom where I was putting my toiletries. Ones I'm on my way out I see boxes of pizza, the Luna walks out while on her cell, she puts it a bit down to talk to me.

"I ordered food and I am having more omegas bring you food can't allow you to be here alone and hungry can I?" she has over-done eyebrows that unit in annoyance, while I smile at her to answer.

"Thank you, Luna." I pull and push myself from the door frame.

"Go on and eat I am outside to make sure they get things right, do you know how to cook?" She asks doubtfully, I nod then shrug my shoulders.

"Well the basics, are rice, mashed potatoes,habichuelas, frying boxed bacalaitos, tostones, mayuketchup, and I only know how to cook chicken. Why?" I ask raising my eyebrows.

Luna claps her hands and smiles as she walks outside. "Perfect you can defend for a bit but I will have an omega from the kitchen come over some days to help you learn to cook, okay?" She turns out to be outside.

"Thank you, I appreciate it." I roll my eyes at her back.

She walks out and I get a slice of pizza as I get my head around the fact that this is my birthday. Happy 18 years old to me. The rest of the omegas here take slices with me, omegas don't eat a lot so I eat as I usually do. Out of 7 boxes, 2 are eaten by the omegas, they are full and I eat all 5 boxes, I usually eat 2 boxes.

The Luna comes in with the rest of the omegas. I see my two warrior friends on the back of the house in a small markesina in the back and one in the front of this 4 bedroom house. It stings to see them help me after being with me in such a horrible way, they put a long big freezer in there, the omegas fill it with meats, frying foods, and other goods.

As they finish I get my house ready for a party but as I start the same omegas come back with party decorations. I put some merengue on as we work, we start goofing around as we do our work, Chase is dancing with one omega and Kealan is working with balloons and tying them.

I finish putting the last touches, while we are doing this I hear a knock on the door, I scream "COME IN! IT'S OPEN!!!"

We keep the time going, when someone pokes my back shoulder, I look back and my face starts to heat up because in front of me is Anvi. She is such a beautiful girl, her pixie cut black hair with blue tips, her dark blue eyes are enchanting, dimples with her dark skin tone, she has an hourglass figure and a low voice.

She is so energetic and always caring about her friends or anyone who she can help. Wearing a short-sleeve to her elbow of a blue-colored with a zig-zag deep v cut, her dress is long to just underneath of her knees with flats.

She is 6.02, 18 years old and hasn't found her mate. She is so worth it tho, she works with the animals on the farm in the Lycan territory. That reminds me I haven't showered or changed since yesterday, I have to make it look like I am not stinky, I stay waiting for her to act till I realized I yelled at her to come in, I scratch the back of my neck as I try so hard to be nice.

"Hey, I had no idea you were coming in. Kinda having loud music and stuff, the party isn't ready."

Anvi looks at me with her smile " It's okay I don't mind, mind if I help?

I shake my head "No I wouldn't mind thanks for caring, I kinda have to go get ready since I haven't had the time last night, first shift got me all covered in sand."

When I hear David 'Are you blaming me for running at the beach?' he asks a bit surprised in his tone.

Anvi walks to me and says "Here this is for you"

She gives me a small box, I open it to see a necklace with the word Anvi on it, does she like me? Ou please give me good news and pick me as your chosen mate. I would be the happiest man alive.

"I love it, thanks Anvi, I will be back soon okay?" I tell her as I walk backward.

"Take your time stinky." She giggles.

I smile at her and I take the box with me up the stairs, I lay my clothes and take my shower, as I take my time to look good because I now know Anvi is here, I need to make it work. Okay, I look okay good, I'm wearing a long gray shirt with a small V neck that is tied up, my dark skinny jeans, and my sneakers. I open my door since I heard it knocking to reveal a woman I have never met before.

"We need to talk, Iniko..."
