"Sara, it's almost time to leave. Don't you think you are getting late already?" A woman who was sitting in a wheelchair spoke as she wheeled herself toward her daughter's room. A young lady who had an average height walked out wearing a red skirt and a black shirt that was tucked in perfectly. She had a white cross bag slung around her neck alongside a black pair of shoes. Her waist-length shiny and smooth hair was tied up to become a doughnut, her icy blue eyes were glimmering and it complimented her beautiful fair skin.
"My, my, you look glorious, Sara." Her mum spoke.
"Thank you, mum. I got that from you."
"Of course, who else would you have gotten that from if not your mother?" Her mum replied proudly as her eyes lingered on her grown daughter.
"Are you going to a fashion show?" Sara's brother, Vicky, made an entrance. He was three years younger than Sara but whosoever saw the two together would have thought he was the older sibling. He was a handsome young man who was into arts and decorations.
"Do I need to go to a fashion show before I look this great?" Sara asked her brother.
"I just think that's too much of a dressing. Why don't you try wearing a ball gown?"
"You..." Sara threw her scarf at him and the latter chuckled after annoying his sister for the morning.
"Vicky, let her be. She is getting late already. Be on your way, Sara." Her mum scolded and Sara gave him a teasing smile before leaving.
She was Sara, the first and only female child in the family. She was a twenty-five-year-old and single like the moon without no stars which sincerely, she wasn't really worried about. She was a creative writer who wrote poems, stories, blogs, etc for money to go along with the maid work she was doing. Sara's family was not the rich type as they managed their income but the maid job helped them a lot.
Sara stood at the roadside trying to look for a cab or maybe a free ride which she eventually saw and took. She arrived at the Francisco family mansion. They were one of the most respected and powerful families in the City and Country. They were not more than three, the father, the mother, and the son rumored to have traveled after his sudden disappearance from home. No one was later concerned about this again, maybe Sara was but a little bit.
She stepped into the mansion quickly, ignoring the murmurs from the other maids in the house. It was just an hour left for lunch. The family had a strict order which was at 7 in the morning, breakfast should be ready, anytime was suitable for lunch according to individual's demands then 6 in the evening was for dinner.
They could eat whatsoever they wished to after this. There was always a punishment if this order wasn't met. Sara eagerly entered the huge kitchen where a lot of preparations were ongoing, she didn't get the concept at first. Her friend, Josh, looked at her. He was wearing an apron and a net on his head. He whistled when he saw Sara.
"Aren't you a bit overdressed for this occasion?" He asked her.
"Why is everyone saying that and what occasion?" Sara asked as she picked one of the aprons and dressed up like Josh.
"Haven't you heard yet?" He questioned as he stirred the soup on the fire.
"No," Sara replied.
"Okay, let me go straight to the point. You know that Master and Madam's son disappeared, right?"
"Of course, I was here the whole time," Sara answered as she poured herself a glass of clean water. She was about to drink it when the unexpected happened.
"Good. He is coming back today. He is already on his way." Sara's eyes widened as she allowed the information to sink into her mind. She couldn't drink the water anymore.
"You aren't joking, right?"
"Are you laughing?" Josh raised his brows.
"Wow." She suppressed the bubbling feeling within her.
"Madam wouldn't stop talking about him. That's why everywhere looks tighter than before, he is coming back home." Josh giggled.
Sara didn't know if she was to be happy with this news or not. He was finally coming back home after fifteen years...a whole damn fifteen years! This was huge, how would he look like? Would he still remember her? These and more were questions that filled her heart as she started her work.

Inside an airplane, sounds of coming feet from the inner room could be heard by a man whose eyes were closed and faintly into sleep. The sound came closer and nearer until it stopped.
"Do you want one?" A hoarse yet thick voice asked. The man's eyes opened, revealing their grey color as he looked at his friend who was handing over tobacco to him. He closed his eyes again and replied.
" I don't want them to welcome the smell of tobacco instead of my elegant perfume." The man withdrew his hand and chuckled. He sat in front of him and crossed his legs against each other.
"Pretending to be a good boy to momma, huh?"
"She knows what goes around comes around. It's a simple logic, the good boy gone bad." The man replied.
There was a brief silence between them.
"We are finally going home, who do you think you can't wait to see apart from your parents, Alfred?" The other man asked.
Alfred reopened his eyes and looked out the window, he stared at the abundance of clouds as his heart pondered more on the question while his friend watched him intently. This was the first time he was taking this long to respond to a question.
Finally, Alfred looked back at his friend with no paramount facial expression.
"No one."
He replied finally.
The Francisco family had invited one of their family friends, the Archibald family to welcome each son. The women were dressed in elegant matching blue flowing gowns and were adorned with jewelry while the men just wore casual yet expensive outfits. They were seated outside the mansion, under a well-covered place receiving the fresh air while waiting for the arrival of their sons.
Inside the mansion, Sara couldn't stop peeping at them once in a while to know if he was back or not. She was getting anxious and she was sure that the anxiousness had risen to an abnormal level while waiting. The head of the maids passed by and caught a glimpse of Sara lazing around.
"Sara!" She called suddenly and Sara squealed a bit before covering her mouth. Even though she was twenty-five, she still had the brain of a child.
"B...boss?"
"Why are you looking through the window? Are you trying to steal something?"
"What? What could I possibly want to steal? The window?" Sara chuckled.
"No, you should steal the mansion, that would be better," Lilah replied sarcastically before glaring at her. Sara swallowed hard and smiled anxiously. She knew something unfavorable was coming next.
"I can see that you are less busy, that's why your mouth is loose these days and you are planning to steal the mansion. Why don't I occupy you with some work?"
"She has gotten into trouble again."
"Idiot."
"Such a blabbermouth." The other maids who saw the situation as they walked past them murmured.
"Er...boss Lilah, I..."
"Security," Lilah called and a man standing not too far from them answered.
"Escort her to the basement and make sure she doesn't leave until 7 pm when her time strikes. She has a particular work to do there." Lilah instructed and Sara felt like crying. Her boss simply smirked and left the poor girl alone.
"Let's go, Miss." The security man ordered.
Jane walked with heavy feet towards the basement. Was she going to lose the opportunity to see Alfred now?
***********|************|
Alfred and Archie landed at Alfred's private airport a few hours later. The surroundings were clean and a bit desolate as it was private property. A man dressed in a suit walked quickly to them.
"Welcome, sirs. Your ride is this way." He led them to a big black car. Gauging from its appearance, it was probably worth a billion dollars. Alfred entered and so did Archie. The driver started the car's engine and zoomed off.
On the way, Alfred stared at the road with full concentration before turning up the window. Everything had indeed changed after so long but he wondered if everyone he knew had changed as well.
After thirty minutes of driving, they finally arrived at the mansion and the driver drove in accompanied by two other cars. The elderly ones, on seeing them, smiled and rose to their feet. The door was opened and the men came out like royalties and walked towards them with no hesitation. They hugged one another.
"My darling, I miss you so much." Mrs. Ursula Francisco said as she hugged Alfred tightly.
"Look at how thin you two are." Mrs. Rachael Archibald spoke as she looked at the two men in front of her who could never be called the two young boys she knew again. They had grown to become strong, handsome, and powerful just like their fathers wanted them to be.
"That's what the mothers will always say but for the men, they look more appealing this way. Welcome back home, let's go in." Mr. Mark Francisco said as he pats her son's back.
Meanwhile, inside the mansion, the maids were already running helter-skelter. Some were fawning over how hot and handsome they looked. When they sighted them coming, everyone arranged themselves and bowed to greet them.
"You must be hungry. Have something to eat." Ursula said as she spread her hand over the large delicacies that were on the dining table. Soon the whole family settled down for lunch and discussed joyfully.
Josh looked around for any sign of Sara but he couldn't find her. He wondered where she could have gone to. After eating, the family decided that the men should rest for the day and that a welcome party would be held on their behalf the next day. The Archibald left after a while. As Alfred walked to his room majestically, the maids and security men bowed to acknowledge his presence either slightly or deeply but he didn't say a word.
When he got to his room, it had been redecorated and refurbished. It wasn't the old boy's room anymore instead, it carried a sense and smell of manliness.

Sara could hear the talking of the maids that walked past the basement once in a while. Alfred was back in the house but she wasn't privileged to see him and this was all thanks to her boss. She had just lost a very good opportunity.
"I hate you, boss Lilah." She gritted her teeth.
Afterward, she got home feeling more frustrated than ever before. She looked depressed because of two things. One, she was overworked and two, she couldn't get a first glimpse at Alfred. Just great.
"I am back." She said with a tired voice before sitting down on the chair. Vicky who was in a corner of the sitting room trying on a new color for his art spared a glance at her.
"We can see that." He replied. Their mum, Danny, wheeled herself out of her room towards her daughter.
"Why don't you try being a bit considerate?" Danny asked her son. Vicky dropped the box of colors in his hand and stood up. He walked to Sara and bowed with a sly smile.
"Dear favorite sister, you are back? Welcome, you look stressed like a monkey. Do you need some water?" He asked and Sara rolled her eyes.
"Save the pretense." She replied.
"It could have helped much longer before I stood up."
Danny shook her head playfully at Vicky's behavior. These two never stopped pulling each other's legs and never ceased to amuse her. Vicky moved closer to her and touched her forehead before sitting beside Sara.
"How was your day?" He asked her.
"The worst!" Sara retorted, "I had to work double time."
"That must have been because you offended Lilah," Danny said.
"What I did can't even be counted as an offense, mum. I was just looking through the window and nothing more than that but when she came along, she accused me of wanting to steal the mansion. How ridiculous! I tried to prove her wrong but guess what? I was thrown into the basement to work double time. I missed the opportunity to see...oops, mum, guess what?"
"For the second time," Vicky muttered and Danny chuckled.
"No idea, just blow it up."
"Alfred is back." She announced.
"Alfred is back?" Danny looked confused.
"Who is Alfred?" Vicky questioned.
"Madam's son, the one rumored to have disappeared fifteen years ago, do you remember now?"
"That Alfred? That's good news."
"Uhm...why is it? I don't get it." Vicky raised his hand to signify that he was clueless about what was going on.
"You don't need to. I will explain it to you later. I got the information this morning but because of my punishment, I couldn't see him. Well, tomorrow is another new day." Sara picked up her white cross bag and was about to leave for her room.
"Why are you so eager to meet him?" Vicky's sudden question stopped her before she could bounce off. She turned dumb for a while and coughed.
"Is there any law against it?" She said and left.
Vicky gave his mum a 'what the hell?' look.
"Just let it be, get her something to eat," Danny instructed him. He nodded and stood up to go to the kitchen.

Alfred was sitting on his bed with his laptop placed on it. On the screen were the faces of two men, Archie and Arthur, the sons of powerful individuals. Alfred had no shirt on as he lay bare on the bed.
"So, what do you two suggest? Should we go clubbing?" Arthur Bruce asked.
"Nah, my dad is gonna throw a welcome party for Archie and me tomorrow evening," Alfred responded.
"Apart from that, I am as tired as f*ck, do you think those training were easy, huh?" Archie asked.
"Stop talking as if you were the only one who had to go through training. I went through the underground one as well." Arthur retorted.
"Whatever your words are, we are seeing tomorrow right?" Alfred interrupted.
"Wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Yeah, after that we are going to plan our clubbing. I can't wait to have those sexy vixens to myself." Archie replied dreamily.
"Same here."
"I concur. Goodnight."
"Whoa...whoa...whoa, easy there, Bigfoot. There is still something I have to say." Arthur said.
"Okay."
"I have noticed that Vegan has been buying a lot of weapons these days and he is doing it secretly. I have my suspicions though." Arthur spoke.
Alfred only stared at the screen while thinking. If Vegan was taking such steps then something wasn't right and it could be dangerous for everyone because nothing good came from him and his family.
"So, what do we do?" Archie asked.
"We will continue to spy on his movement, he has nothing good to offer and he is a poisonous snake. Arthur, try to find out where these weapons are being brought from and make sure that your traces are not seen then give the information to Archie to deal with. I will try to think of the next step." Alfred gave out his instructions.
"Okay then. Goodnight."
The conversation finally ended for the night. Alfred stared at the space in front of him, he was trying to figure out what Vegan could be up to, he just arrived back after so many years and this guy has started creating trouble for him but no matter what, he aimed to outwit Vegan's plans at all cost.
The next morning, Sara had woken up as early as she could. It wasn't her shift for the morning, it was until noon before she would leave. She looked at her side clock, it just struck 7 am so she rolled on her bed lazily and blinked her eyes multiple times. Then it dawned on her that she was to update her stories that day so she rose from the bed and picked up her phone to go through her sites.
Sara was a signed author on an app, a blogger who had her official website, and sometimes would take ghostwriting jobs. This was her talent and gift as she had been doing this since she was a teenager. She went to her playlist and played a song by Charlie Puth featuring Jungkook of BTS, left and right, to help her get ready for the day.
She quickly updated a few more chapters and talks on her sites before she went offline. Today was a huge day as Lilah had told them last night to be present for tonight's event. The Francisco family would be throwing a welcome party for their son and many wealthy honorary guests would be available.
Sara finally considered this to be a good chance of seeing Alfred again. Her phone rang and this jolted her from her thoughts. It was her second friend, Vanessa, calling.
"Hey, Van."
"You finally picked up my call, babe."
"I never missed it and you didn't call twice."
"Whatever you say, darling. Are you at home?" Vanessa asked. Sara could hear the rustling sound from something on her friend's side.
"Yeah, my shift starts at noon. What are you doing?"
"Great. I am unwrapping an order that I made but anyway, I am coming over." Vanessa hung up and Sara shook her head while smiling.
"Vanessa indeed."
