Adrianna stared at her reflection in the mirror, the wedding dress fitted her so well and she couldn't stop herself from smiling. "This is beautiful," Rita her best friend complimented her

"I know right?" She beamed looking at her

Rita forced out a smile, "Yeah, Gilbert is lucky to have you," She through gritted and obviously not happy about her friend getting married.

Then Rita's phone beeped, she briefly look at the message and kept it back into her purse. She turn to Adrianna who was still admiring her wedding dress.

"You still be going to event planers right?" She asked and Adrianna nod looking at her through the mirror, Rita fake a pout. "Sorry but I might not be able to follow you, I need to get back home," She said.

Adrianna turn to her, "Hope everything is okay?" She chip in worriedly moving closer to her.

"Yes," She muttered "-Mom needs me," She lied while Adrianna simply nod with a warm smile, taking her hand.

"You can go, family comes first," She added giving her a light message on her hand.

"Thank you, you're the best friend in this world!" Bye!" With that Rita left.

Adrianna turn back to her dress, she smiled as she imagined herself walking down the aisle with Gilbert in one week time.

"He will love this," She mumbled "I should show him this," She told herself and went to her bag pulled out her phone.

She dialed his number, "This number is currently unavailable" That was the reply she keeps getting from the other line.

"Is he busy?"She asked herself then an idea pop into her head, "Should I give him a surprise visit? Yeah! I should," She concluded and with that she went over to the changing room.

She changed into her casual wears and left the wedding dress store. She drove straight to Gilbert's house.

She drove into his compound, She went to the entrance and met the door opened. "So, he's at home and he's not picking my calls? That silly guy," she mumbled with a chuckle and walked in.

She started hearing moans from the bedroom, she wants to believe she's hearing the wrong thing. Then her eyes fell on the unpleasant things on the floor, a lady's underwear, a bag and shoes.

She tried not to cry, "Get it together, it can't be what am thinking," She told herself and curiosity made her walk slowly towards the bedroom, hoping it's not what she's thinking.

The moans grew wide, she slowly opened the door only to see the shock of her life. Her bag fell off and tears dropped from her eyes. Is this a dream? If it is, she has to wake up from this bad dream!

"R-Rita!"She yelled calling to their attention as more tears followed. "Gilbert?!"

The two in question pull away from each other, Rita hid her eyes while Gilbert kept biting his lower lips.

This is man she's getting married to in a week time! He's having an affair? Not just with anybody but her best friend?

"Adrianna...Er,," Gilbert tried to say something but Adrianna gave him a resounding slap.

"Why my friend!" She yelled bitterly and turn to Rita who was still hiding her face. "How could you! I trusted you! You're my friend! No, not anymore," She said and with that she left the room.

Gilbert wanted to follow her but Rita pulled him back, "Didn't you say you don't care about her? You're only getting married to her because you pity her, isn't it?" She asked.

"But,"

"No buts, it's her loss."

"What if she tells the family about this? This is going to put me lot of trouble! I can't..." Rita shut him up with a kiss.

She pulled away and smirk, "I will take care of that for you," She assured him with wink.

"What do you mean?"

"Don't worry, the blame will be on her."

Devastated Adrianna drove roughly into a random clubhouse, she wasn't thinking straight and what she thought of doing right now is to drink herself to stupor.

"One bottle of vodka," She ordered at the counter. The attendant was shocked by her request, a bottle vodka could make her walk with her head back home.

"A glass you mean," He asked to be sure he heard her well.

With a deadly glare from Adrianna, he went to bring the vodka. A bottle precisely.

"That bastard!" She mumbled and opened the bottle, she gulp down almost all the beer in the bottle.

"And that stupid friend of mine!" She gulped down the rest, she was already getting drunk but wasn't satisfied, she wants more.

"One more!" She ordered and the attendant did as told.

Few minutes later, she was already on the third bottle, dead drunk.

"I, (hiccups) love......him! He's my first love whom I wish to spend the rest of my life with! (Hiccups) he betrayed me with my best friend (Hiccups) such is life!" She started speaking nonsense and displaying a drunkard acts.

She stood up, to her it felt like she's in cloud nine. "I feel...I feel so happy!!"She shouted though no one was listening to her. Then she saw the dim lights, she smiled stupidly "The stars are supporting me! Look how shining they are!" She laughed then suddenly started crying.

"They(hiccups) betrayed me!"She lashed out gulping the rest of her beer.

She suddenly feel pressed, "I need to pee, where is the restroom?" She asked no one in particular and started walking round the clubhouse, she found one.

"Seen!"She exclaimed and walked into the restroom but she came into the male restroom.

"Why are they so many here?" She asked staggering then went into one of the toilet to ease her bladder.

Walking out, her eyes landed on a guy smoking. To her, the guy looked like Gilbert.

She went to him, "It's Gilbert! What (Hiccups) are you doing here? Are you here to apologize?" She asked drunkly.

"Who are..." before the guy could finish his words, Adrianna crash her lips against his.

"Sleep with me," She whisper into his ears.

The guy smirked, "You desperately need it huh?" He asked and she stupidly nod her head.

"Not here then," with that the guy carried her all the way to his room.

A resounding slap landed right on Adrianna face, her cheeks turned pink, Gina was fuming as she felt like giving her another one.

Adrianna hold onto her cheeks with a gasp, "Mom-" She muttered shocked, she was returning back from the clubhouse only to be welcomed with a slap from her mother.

"What's the meaning of this?" Gina, Adrianna's foster mother asked angrily showing her a picture of her and a man, kissing.

"This is a misunderstanding Mom, it's not what you think."

Gina scoffed, "not what I think? Are you kidding me here!" She yelled while Adrianna flinches in fear.

"I can explain, Mom. I was so drunk last night, I wasn't in my right mind,"She explained herself but Gina wasn't ready to listen.

"Drunk you say! What made you drink that you forgot your wedding on the line! You just ruined everything!" Her foster father, Simone snapped furiously.

Then Adrianna remembered what happened yesterday, catching her fiancé sleeping with her best friend, that thought irritated her more.

"Talking about the wedding, I think we should call it off, you wouldn't believe what Gilbert did, he-"

Gina scoffed, "Now you're talking about calling the wedding off?! You should be looking for ways to apologize to Gilbert's family and not saying nonsense!" She scowl and Adrianna pinched her eyebrows confused.

"Apologize? Why should I apologize!"

Simone stood up, "Because of your nonchalant attitude! The other family wants the wedding to be called off!" He yelled obviously pained. He spent a lot on the wedding, he was hoping he could grow his business through it.

"W-what?" Adrianna mumbled

"Are you shocked? You filthy thing! Do you know what I regretted the most?" Gina asked obviously not expecting an answer "Taking you from that gutter!" She lashed out.

Adrianna bat her eyelashes preventing the tears not to call in presence of her so called parent. It's true that they adopted her but she feel pained whenever they mention it to her face.

"Do you have to always say that!"She summon the courage to talk back at her.

"Are you raising your voice at me! you ingrate!" Gina yelled back

"You both don't care about my opinion, you've always made decisions for me and I have never complained but you're putting the blame on me without hearing my own side of story?" She asked almost in tears.

Gina rolled her eyes while Simone glare at her. "No one needs your opinion, we are the one that adopted you! We decide what you do! Start preparing to apologize to Gilbert's family," Simone instructed but Adrianna shook her head.

"I can do everything you want me to do but you want me to apologize to a cheat? No, I'm sorry but I will not!" Without sparing the both of them glance, she dashed into her room.

She fell on her kneels, the tears she's been holding started pouring outta her eyes. "Why! Why does it have to be so hard for me?" She cries.

First it was Gilbert who broke her heart by sleeping with her best friend! and second, she lost her innocent as a lady to a total stranger last night and her parent added to her pains.

She kept hitting her chest, "It hurts,"

Two weeks later

"What's the meaning of this trash!" Gina threw some piece of paper at Adrianna's face. Her glare was killing and her fist keeps getting tight.

"I'm..sorry," That was the only statement Adrianna could make at the moment. Tears dropped, one, two till it became more.

Gina threw her head back and scoffed, "Sorry? Your wedding was called off and you dare carry a bastard in you! Sorry?! Is this all you've got?! Sorry?!" Gina yelled angrily at her, she then started pulling her hair like she wants to cut it off.

"It hurts,"Adrianna cried but Gina doesn't care, it's already an humiliating thing for the wedding to be called off and now she's pregnant and to worsen the matter she doesn't know who the baby father is.

Gina suddenly let go of her hair and pull away from her slowly, "Get out, out of this house," She said calmly but deep down she felt like killing her.

Adrianna tears stopped, she wasn't hearing her mom well.

She take her step closer, "Mom..."

"Don't call me that word ever again in your life, I'm not your mom! I picked you from that homeless woman and I regretted doing that!" She snapped angrily.

Adrianna trembled to the horrifying words, "Don't say that, Mom-"

"GET OUT, NOW!"

Before Adrianna knew what was happening, Gina pushed her out of the house and locked the gate right away.

Not so long, rain started dropping till it became heavy, Adrianna was under the rain crying and hoping Gina would open the door but that never happened.

"Take,"The old woman stretch out a glass of water to Adrianna.

"Thank you,"She replied and collected it with shaky hands. "Thanks for bringing me here, I would have died in the cold weather if not for you, thanks," She muttered.

Her dress drenched, she was in the rain and Gina didn't bother.

Thanks to the old woman who saw her passed out in the rain and bring her to her house.

The old woman sigh deeply as she stare at Adrianna pitifully, "How could someone that calls herself your mother chase you out in the rain? That's cruel!"

Tears dropped from her eyes, the old woman move closer to her and pat her gently on her back.

"Don't cry," She told her "Let me get you food, you must be hungry," The woman said and went to bring her fish.

"Here, eat."

Few minutes after she finished the fish, she came out to sit with the old woman outside. "Hey, you're done eating?" The old woman asked and Adrianna nod.

"Yes,"She replied softly and took a seat.

"I will be going back to my home town soon, " The old woman said and Adrianna raised her eyebrows.

"Is this not your house?" She asked.

"Yes, I only stay here when am on deliveries," She utter and took her hand giving it a soft massage. "you should plead with your mom so you can go back home especially now that you're pregnant."

Adrianna shook her head, "I don't want to go back, it's going to be hell," she begin to cry "take me with you."

The old woman widened her eyes, "Are you sure? My hometown is a rural area and I sell fish! You can imagine how my house would look like," The old woman said but Adrianna doesn't mind.

"I don't mind, I just want to get out of this wicked city," Adrianna said in frustration. The old woman understood her well so she nod slowly.

"You can come with me," The old woman finally came to conclusion and that made Adrianna smiled out.

She didn't know when she pull the old woman into a warm hug. "Thank you! Thanks grandma,"

The old woman smiled, "Grandma? Tsk, you can just call me Hilda."

"Adrianna."

The both of them smiled.

(Adam City, At a marketplace)

**Eight months later***

"Buy fresh fishes! 50bucks each!" Adrianna could be seen advertising her fish business, her baby bump visibly shown and big, anytime soon, she will be delivering her baby.

"Adrianna, you shouldn't stress yourself huh? Don't stress the baby," Hilda advice but Adrianna shook her head with a smile.

"I feel great selling fish, I bet my babies also do so," She muttered and then look down to her big stomach, "-right babies?" She asked and Hilda laughed.

"Babies?"Hilda asked.

She nod,"Yes."

"What made you think it gonna be babies?" Hilda asked.

"I have this feeling that it gonna be twin! You can't imagine how much I love having twin," She replied with a giggle.

"Well, I can't wait to see them, whether twin, triplet or quadruplets," Hilda gave her an assuring smile.

"You're so funny, grandma-"

"Is that not water coming out between your legs?"Hilda snapped rushing over to her. "-your water broke!"

"Is it time yet? It's just eighth month, how-"

"Enough of talking, let's get you to the hospital. I bet your due time is early," Hilda told her, she wasted no time to stop a tricycle passing by.

"The town hospital," she told the driver.

"140bucks,"

"Let's go,"Hilda said getting in alongside with Adrianna who is now in labor. The driver started the tricycle engine and zoomed off to the town hospital.

Hilda couldn't stop herself from praying as she rub her sweaty palm together, Adrianna has been in labor for the past two hours and the doctors in charge haven't stepped out of the delivery room since then.

"I hope she's okay, gracious God," She prayed.

Then, a stretcher was pulled out from the delivery room and that made Hilda smiled out tears, "Adrianna," She called though Adrianna had fell unconscious.

Then she look around, "Where's her baby?" She asked one of the nurses.

"Here," One of them replied and brought forth three babies. "They are so cute, A girl and two boys."

Hilda's smile grew wider, "They are Triplet?" She asked taking the baby girl from them.

"Yes, Triplet,"
