"Oh sweetheart are you on your way home?" I enthusiastically asked on the other line.

"Not yet, sweetheart, I'm in the middle of our mission but soon as this mission finishes I'll go home immediately, " She replied in the second line that made my heart pound rapidly. I have this feeling with an unfortunate thing will happen.

I slammed my fist on the table due to my anger.

Damn! you're in the middle of your mission and you have the guts to make a call? Mirana I can't stand it anymore that every time you are on your mission I couldn't stop myself from getting worried. I think its better for us, for you if you should quit your agency. I am worried about you especially now that you are in the middle of your mission, " I exclaimed and she seemed to be stunned by the other line.

"Calm down sweetheart. I miss you that's why I called, wait why you want to make me quit this job when you're not even quitting your job"

"Mirana sweetheart I want us to live a normal life. We'll just build our own business after we get married, "I calmly stated.

"Oh that's great sweetheart we will have our w-wait did I hear it right? After we get married? "she utterly asked.

"Yes, is it too early? Don't you want to marry me? " I nervously asked.

She didn't reply.

"Mirana are you still there?"

"Y-yes sweetheart I'm here to-of course I want to marry you, " she replied nervously. Why do I have this feeling that something bad will happen?

I just sighed in relief.

"I love you Mirana. I truly love you, " I wholeheartedly said.

"Ada-"

A loud bang cut her off and followed by loud gunshots.

Anxiety rose on me by hearing those on the second line. Suddenly my world stopped and I can't even form a word from my mouth.

"Mirana! Mirana! What's going on there? Is everything okay out there? Answer me Mirana!"

Then the line disrupted.

"Mirana! Mirana!"

ADAM

TRINITY RESTAURANTE 9: AM

Years later Adam still could not continue his life, still grieving the loss of the woman he loved all his life.

"Adam, it's nine o'clock in the morning! What we talked about was exactly on time and what do you think you're wearing today? The security guard will almost never let you in because of what you are wearing, I don't know if you are still alive or dead. You didn't even prepare to go here, and you didn't even shave your mustache, and did you ever visit with your scissors?" he exclaimed, looking at me like a hermit.

"It's still early to have words of wisdom Scott, why did you call me?" I went straight to the question because I didn't want to take it anymore, he is becoming annoying.

"Your head is getting too hot, " he said as if sarcastic.

"You know that these hours are hard traffic, Scott, " I said as I put my hands on my head.

"We have a mission and we need your cooperation, Adam. And you are the only one I thought that could do this job, " he said, and there was a seemingly folding folder behind him.

"I'm quitting, " I said firmly.

"You can't-", I immediately cut off his next words, I know where the hell this is going.

"Be serious?"

"Why?" he asked, reflecting on what I had said.

"I have no appetite for these, " I replied, but he didn't seem to agree with my response.

"Is it because of her?" he asked, glancing at the ring on my finger.

"Don't bring her here, " I retorted, but he just looked at me as if I was crazy.

"Adam, you're not married yet! So why are you wearing that ring?" he cried out in anger and pity on his face. I know I shouldn't be wearing this thing, but this is the only thing that keeps my faith in her.

"Look! You've changed, look at yourself in the mirror Adam. Do you think she'll be happy in your present state of life?"

"In my heart we were married, and I knew in my heart Mirana was still alive. I know that, call me crazy or what I just can't help but to think of her every day you don't know what I am going through, let me be just please let me be, " I said with all hope in my voice.

"It's been 2 years Adam, two years have passed. We both witnessed the ashes so better move on, " he said as if he were talking to a kid.

"That's not easy. I have to leave, " I stated, firmly making my hands formed into fist causing my knuckles to turn white.

I left the restaurant without waiting for his reply.

"I knew she would come back for me, " I growled before opening the door of my car.

MARINA

CANADA 8:45 PM

"Marina please I'm begging you!" My twin sister had been crying..

"I can't, " I replied, even though I am hurting to see her in this kind of situation.

"Marina, " she called as she cried.

"Why me, Mirana? Why don't you just show yourself to him, you're making your situation more complicated, and who is this person?" I asked as I helped her sit.

"The person who offered me the ring, " she replied, wiping her tears with the back of her hand.

"Adam, " I don't know, but my heart aches in pain as to what she had said. Adam offered to marry her. The man I've loved since I was a kid.

"Yes"

"So why are you hiding? Why are you spreading fake news that you're dead? You said you love him, Mirana too! Why are you sending me to him?" I made her question because I was having a hard time understanding her.

She didn't respond, but instead she moaned in tears while holding my hands. I feel sorry for my twin.

"Mirana, tell me so I can understand and maybe help you, " I said, tapping her shoulder as I wiped her tears.

She hugged me tightly as she leaned over my shoulder.

"Is it because of Marco?"

"Marco called me. He said he wanted us to start over, " she whispered.

"My God Mirana, I thought you have learned your lesson, that Marco betrayed you for so many times and still you're ending up forgiving him even though you will hurt someone else that loves you. Adam loves you Mir, " it's hard for me to say those words for her, but this is the right thing to do.

"I can't Marina, I love Marco so I need your help. Go to my place and pretend to be me. Introduce yourself as I am, " she said with tears in her eyes.

"Why Mirana? Why me?"

"I can't stand his stares that I might have given away. I love him, but Marco is the one I truly love. So if you do it, it will no longer be hard for me to break up with him. Come on Marina, please, " she said as she held my hands.

"Separate?" I asked that my brain couldn't process her words, I couldn't believe her.

"Yes Marina, tell him I don't love him and I don't need him anymore, " she said as she looked me in the eyes.

"Don't be so hard on him. And besides, he loves you and it is not fair for him for you to split up with no valid reason. He thought you were dead, he thought you were gone for good. Then I'll show up? What if everything will go wrong or even more complicated?"

"Marco is a rich man and there is no reason for him to know that I am alive. Marina, two years have passed and I think he is moving on, " she said as if she doesn't give a care.

"What if he's still waiting? Hoping that someday you'll come back for him."

"Please Marina, do it for me. It is only temporary that you will not endure to him" she begged and I could not help but ask her.

"Does he know me?" I asked even though I can't bear to hear her answer.

"Not yet"

"When will I leave?" I asked while looking in the mirror, I looked at my own reflection.

I will become a shadow of her if this means to get close to him I will take this as a risk.

"The next day Marina soon, I will handle everything, " she said, and another aura replaced her fragile look.

"Okay, " I finally gave up. It is only temporary and it will not last long. And I expect everything she says.

Adam was my first love since I was thirteen. Mirana and him were the best of friends that time, I can't show myself to him because Mirana didn't like me to befriend him. She says she just wanted to protect me but deep inside I know that she doesn't want me; she doesn't want to have a twin sister. I was not surprised that even now Adam doesn't know that Mirana has a twin sister, and that's me.

I'll never forget the first time we held hands. Mirana and she were playing in the backyard when Mirana left because she would prepare some snacks and juice for the two of them.

I had just walked out of our room. I was tiptoeing when I was in the middle of the stairs as I approached the door. Someone holds my hand, my body turned stiff as soon as I heard the voice of the one who is now gripping my hand.

"Mirana, come I have something to show you, " he promised with eagerness in his voice.

I immediately removed my hand from his grip. I hurried to my room and ignored his calls in my sister's name.

Mirana waited for Adam to leave before walking into our room filled with anger. She screamed and yelled out what would happen if Adam caught me and discovered they were twins. She was very upset those days.

And now she needs my help. I'll see Adam again. This is one I want, but only to be a shadow of my twin sister.

ADAM

I grimaced in the annoyance of who the fucking calling me at this time.

"What the! it's 3 in the morning and who is the fuck calling in the middle of the night?" I muttered in anger and searched for my phone. I immediately looked at the caller's ID who interrupted my sleep.

"Scott, what do you want?" I annoyingly asked him as I rubbed my forehead.

"Sorry for disturbing your sleep but would you do me a favor?" I tsk I wanted to punch his face and his groin for ruining my sleep.

I sighed deeply before answering. This guy is trying my patience.

"What is it?" I asked calmly, trying to hold my temper.

"Would you fetch my cousin at the airport? I can't fetch him now because I'm kind of a busy man here in my office doing this project that should be yours."

"Okay! What is the specific time and what airport?" I finally agreed.

He told the time of the arrival of his cousin and the place.

Airport 8:00 am

I'm here already at the bench waiting and it's been an hour of waiting. Scott told me that exactly 8 is the arrival of the plane so I patiently waited for an hour.

When suddenly a man appeared in front of me.

"Adam dude!" the man in front of me exclaimed.

"Yes?" I asked, arching my right eyebrow.

"It's me Keiro! Remember? Cousin of Scott?" He introduces himself while pointing to himself.

I stood at my seat and punched his shoulder gently. He's already a grown-up man. I can't even recognize him.

"Man! What was that for?" he fumed as he held the part that I punched.

"That's to keep me waiting."

We look at each other's eyes for a minute and burst into a laugh causing people to turn their heads on us.

"Oh, man! You didn't fail again. I always lose, " he whines like a kid. Yep, His appearance changed but was still young enough to think.

"Because I'm good, " I grinned, causing him to roll his eyes.

"No, you're not. I can't help myself but close my gorgeous eyes. Look at you, are you planning to be called by someone a hermit because you look like one, " he laughs so hard while saying those words.

"Shut up! Get your belongings and don't expect me to help you " I said and turn my heels on him leaving him full of complaints.

We were heading out in the place when I suddenly saw a woman in a red dress clutching her bag while crossing our path. My heart pounded fast when I saw her face and I went numb when our eyes met.

It's her, it is truly her.

I ran towards her. I ignored Keiro who was shouting at me. All I know is her, she came back, she's alive and she's not dead. I didn't bother to excuse every person I ran. Until I grab her wrist causing her to turn her head to me. I still can't believe that it's her. I swear I am not mistaken.

"Adam, " she softly said but enough for me to hear it.

"You know me?" I asked, looking straight into her eyes. She says my name and I heard it coming from her mouth.

"N-no!" she said, trying to pull away and to lose his grip.

"You say my name, " I gritted as she held firmly her shoulders.

"I-I don't k-know y-you. Let go of me!" she shouted and she ran away.

I don't know why I hadn't followed her to feel my own feet as if I had been paralyzed at my place. I just looked at her until she got lost in my sight.

She says my name even though she said it under her breath. I heard it right, she says my name loud and clear.

"Adam! Who are you following?" Keiro suddenly appeared. I almost forget that I was with him.

"Nothing, " I answered, still looking at the street where Mirana left.

"Okay? Shall we go? I'm starving and I badly need some rest, jet lag bro, " he said and he looks drowsy.

"Let's go, get your luggage, and put them in the car."

"What are you waiting for?" he asked before opening the front door of the car.

I believe it was her, she's alive. But I don't know why she keeps on denying that she didn't know me while in fact, she says my name. Why did she deny that she didn't know me? I hope that all of my questions will have an answer.

Mirana, just come back into my life. I'll forgive whatever you have done. Just come back.
