Ignited Love

Give me your keys and get out! I scream at him. You hurt me for the last time, I am over the lies and the cheating. Just get out! My now ex boyfriend grabs his things, throws his keys at me and goes to walk out the door, you will regret this he says and slams the door.

I lock the door behind him and crumble on the floor. I can't believe Oliver did that again. (Few days have passed) I went to work as usual. Even though it had felt like my soul had been ripped from my body. I was so depressed.

When I got home on the third day after all this happened, I decided to order myself dinner. Maybe that will cheer me up, I thought to myself. While waiting for my food, there was a loud banging on my door. Next I heard drunken yelling. Scarlett! Scarlett! I'm coming in!

As Oliver burst through my front door. He charged at me and slammed me to the ground and wrapped his hands around my throat. You are mine and will always be mine. If I can't have you, no one will. Thankfully the delivery had just shown up. The delivery driver rushed in and pushed the drunk Oliver off and restrained him.

I scrambled up to grab my phone to call the cops all while Oliver was screaming I'll be back after he got out of the hold of the driver. After the cops left and took my statement, I decided I had enough. I am going to run as far away as I can go. I will just pack up my car and drive. To where? Who knows. I just had to leave.

I set off on my drive, I drove for 24 hours straight in no general direction. I stopped at a truck stop to grab some food and some sleep. I started driving the next morning and drove another 24 hours before I found myself driving through a quiet small town.

I decided to stop at the small strip of shops downtown. I got out of her car and went into the grocery store first. Instantly. I felt at home here. I needed to grab a few things. I decided this is where I wanted to stay. I asked the cashier if there were any apartments in the area.

The cashier happily told me it was my lucky day. The apartment upstairs just became available. I thought it must have been fate. I then asked her if there was somewhere close by where I could get a job. The cashier introduced herself. I'm Annie by the way, I can talk to my sister she's the owner and the one with the apartment also, so maybe you could work here with me. That would be great! Okay let me call her, Annie says.

Annie pulls out her cell phone and dials someone. She instantly says hi Kira, can you come to the store for a minute? All I can hear is the one sided conversation of Annie. She continues oh no nothing with the store, just someone here I'd like you to meet.

A short time later a tall beautiful woman with long black hair walked in. Scarlett thought she looked out of place. She was so stunning. Annie introduced them. Kira, Scarlett here is new to town and inquired about an apartment and a job. I told her that you might be able to help her with both.

Kira smiled a megawatt smile, I can actually. The apartment will be half price for helping me out down here. I could actually use someone to help out Annie.

Great, can I start moving my stuff in now? I just packed everything I could in my car that would fit, so I don't have much. Kira gave her a funny look. Running from something she asked? I paled, how did she just guess that? I thought to myself. No, I'm not running. Just need something new. Kira smiled again.

Okay if you say so as she shrugs her shoulders. Kira motions for me to follow her as she walks to the back of the store. Kira walks outside around the back of the building to a bright blue door. She unlocked it and walked up the stairs as I followed behind her.

I get to the top of steps to a beautiful open floor plan with an island separating the kitchen and dinner room. She leads me down a small hallway, bathroom on the left, bedroom here on the right, and this at the end of the hallway is the master bedroom. To say the least it was beautiful.

I couldn't wait to start earning money to furnish this house. Then she said the most amazing thing. I've been in your shoes before, let me furnish the apartment for you. I bet our style is the same.

We walk back downstairs to where Annie is standing. Why don't you crash with me till you get a bed or an air mattress at least. A little unsure how she knew I had nothing to sleep on, I happily said yes.

As I was showing Scarlett around the apartment, I mind linked Annie and the rest of the pack. Human, she's new to town. She's set on staying. All of a sudden a roar and a snarl could be heard through the link. Humans don't stay, they pass through. You know the rules.

Xzavier come on, she's running from something. She's scared. I could smell her fear when I asked about it. Even more reason for her to leave, he said.

Well she's working in the shop tomorrow. Just stop in and meet her. Fine, I'll meet her. If I think she's not a threat to the pack, she can stay. Thanks bro I say. Him and Annie are all I got left. After our parents died, he became the alpha of the pack.

I just know this girl needs our protection. There is something she's hiding. She's definitely running from something or someone.

Xzavier's POV

The next day I pull up to the little grocery store my sister owns and get out of my truck. My wolf instantly jumps forward, she's here. Mate! Mate! Mate! I needed to calm down.

I pull my wolf back to be hit by the most delicious smell. Sweet honey and lemon on a spring day. It was highly uncommon for a human to be mated to a werewolf, much less to an alpha werewolf. Why me? I wondered.

No matter, I had to get inside. I had to know her. I walked through the door and there she stood. Tall, about 5'7 brown hair that fell in waves down her back.

I couldn't rush this and make her think I'm here just to meet her. I walked around and grabbed a few basic things I could need and walked up to the counter. She looks at me and I'm mesmerized. She has eyes the color of the brightest emeralds.

She's stunning. I can't look away. I introduced myself and asked her name. She politely answers me and says Scarlett.
