INHUMAN

A Raven bird flew across sky, finding a place to rest. It aimed for a building and landed on the roof.

A young woman came out holding a basket. She hummed a song and went over to feed the animals in the cage.

"Hey dear, have you missed me?" She laughed "oh I'm sure you have" she spoke to the animals.

She noticed a hen struggling to move with a broken leg "oh no poor you." She spoke, her eyes were filled with pity.

"You know I can't do anything right?" She whispered as she checked the animal's leg. It was broken bad, probably when it was dragging for food. She thought she gave them abundantly.

She stood "I guess it's a goodbye then" she took the animal with her and locked the rest in the cage.

The woman went back inside and head to a room with a burning fire at the corner.

She placed a pot on top of the fire. "Don't worry Mr hen. I'll make sure to remove your feathers gently" she rubbed the back of the hen.

After preparing everything, she carried them with her to drop it on the table.

A man not as young as the woman walked in elegantly, he was handsome even though he was older.

The woman smiled when she got a glimpse of him.

"Honey You're back" she cheered.

"Honey how are you doing?" The man query as he stepped inside the dining room.

The woman envelope him in a tight hug.

"You should freshen up first dear" the woman suggested.

"Sure I will do that, but just a minute, wait before I go or don't you miss me?" The man acted pitiful to which the woman laughed to.

"Of course I do, but dinner is going to get cold if you don't go any moment from now." She informed.

"Okay fine, since you don't miss your husband enough to at least spend a moment with him." He pulled back and walked away.

She smiled sheepishly. She sat around the dining table. Her mind became overwhelmed with the thought of a child as she looked at the three set of chairs.

She needed to give her husband a child, he was getting old day by day and needed a successor.

She was so deep in thought that she didn't even notice that her husband was done, and was already sitting before her.

"Hehehe." He cleared his throat to get her attention.

"Ohh dear, you scared me. I can see you are so clean now." She smiled "alright let me dish your food my sweet looking husband." She said trying to hide the sadness she was feeling.

"My wife sure knows that her husband is good looking." He replied giving her a simple smile. But worries were hidden behind that smile.

"Hahahaha yes I know my husband is good looking and most of all he is adorable." She said presenting his food before him.

"Yummy." He said dipping his spoon inside the food to his mouth.

She smiled seeing her husband reaction.

"Go easy on yourself there's still plenty to eat my husband."

"How can I go easy on the food when my darling wife prepared it herself."

"Hahaha stop being such a sweet man. alright eat up okay."

After the couples Were done eating, they got ready for bed. Alice couldn't sleep so she stayed up thinking.

Alice thought about her arms around her baby as tears filled her eyes. Her husband Thomas couldn't help it then turned and wrapped his arms around her so she won't feel alone.

"Thinking again?" He asked in a low tone

"Hmm. Thomas what do I do to get pregnant and make you happy Thomas?"

"Who said am not happy Alice? I am happy as long as I have you am happy, you do not have to worry okay, I will always be by your side." He kissed her hair.

"Thank you Thomas for being patient am lucky to have you."

"No. I am lucky to have Alice. So let's go to bed and try not to think anymore okay."

"Okay good night Thomas."

"Good night Alice."

They both hugged each other to Bed.

"Good morning honey." Alice greeted her husband that was already dressed for work.

"Good morning my beautiful wife."

"I see my husband is dressed and looking handsome as always."

"Yes I am. And I will see you later in the day when am back." He said planting a kiss on her forehead.

"Huh? I thought you said you are going with me to the market today?"

"Yes I did say that. But the knights from the palace are coming to get some Swords for the king's guards."

"As we all know the king is doing everything possible to keep the kingdom safe for the arrival of his unborn child." By saying that Thomas realized he had made a mistake.

Thomas Aberforth was not bothered about the situation. But his wife Alice was seriously in need of a child. that she could do just anything for it.

Alice Visited so many temples to pray, so she could get pregnant but everything was pointless. Thomas loves his wife even if she has not given him a child.

Ever since they got married it has been seven unhappy years for Alice. Thinking has become her best friend.

when it's morning she and Thomas will get prepared for their business. When it's evening Alice will prepare dinner with tears in her eyes.

Thomas works in a shop were they make sword's for the royal family.

And his wife Alice sales fruit's In the village market.

One evening Alice came back from the market feeling all tired and stressed out. she went inside to freshen up and came out to break some woods since her husband is not yet back from work.

Then some women where at the corner mocking and laughing at her for being childless Alice pretended not to hear what they were saying about her.

But she couldn't hold back the tears anymore she throw the axe she was holding on the ground and ran inside to cry.

She screamed so loud with pain in her heart. Coursing her very existence.

Then Thomas find a way to change the topic. "well I promise tomorrow I will go with you to the market okay."

Alice mood was already changed

She forcefully smiled at him.

"Okay if you say so. Tomorrow then. I will just have to go to the market all by myself. But make sure you take care of yourself you know the palace guards are found of troubles.

"I sure will okay." He said walking towards her and hugged her. "Also take care of yourself."

"I will." She said releasing herself from the hug.

Thomas pick up his things and left the house, Alice was standing outside watching her husband as he walks. When a middle age woman weaved at her with smile on her face.

Alice weaved back at her with surprise because the people around hardly talk to her, all they do is mock her, 'maybe she's new.' she said inwardly.

And then she went back into the house so she could get ready.

After Alice was done preparing for the market she came out and lock the front door of the house. She started walking to The market with things she was holding, then she saw the woman again. But this time the woman was walking towards her with same smile on her face.

"Hi am Rebecca." She said with a smile on face. "ohh forgive me I just move to this place newly, i have been walking around so I can know the surroundings very well."

"Ohh I see. Am Alice by the way."

"Nice to meet you Alice. I see you are going to the market, let me not delay you any longer I will see you around."

"Ok nice to meet you too. see you later." Alice said with a smile.

As she walked pass Rebecca.

As Alice was walking she turned back to look at the woman again.

'Hmm what a strange woman.' she said inwardly.

Later in the day.

After the stressful day at market. Alice came home all stressed out and tired. She dropped her things. Went straight to check on the animals as she always does.

Then she heard a voice that called her name, Alice turned to see who it was, But only for her to find Rebecca walking towards her.

"Hi Good evening Alice, how was work today at the market?"

Alice wasn't use to talking about her day with other people, if not her husband. All she did was smile at Rebecca.

"Sorry I guess am disturbing too much." Rebecca said with a sad tone.

"Ohh no Rebecca you're not. Actually I don't talk to much people around here. Other than my husband."

"I see. And why is that? When you look free to chat with. I mostly prefer you to others I have approach around here."

Alice smiles. "Really? I never knew. Well I will be making dinner soon will you like to join me if you don't mind?"

"Sure I don't mind. I will join you, so what are you making for dinner?"

They both continued talking as they went inside to prepare dinner. Alice was happy to finally have someone to talk to, which is not her husband.

"Alice I heard the queen will be giving birth very soon. And the king is adding up the knights to protect the kingdom for the queen's delivery." Rebecca said as she was cutting the vegetable.

Once again Alice was reminded of her problem. Alice didn't let it get to her as she forcefully answered Rebecca.

"Well I guess the king really love's our queen so much." She smiled. 'And I wish I was in her place.' She said in a low tone.

They continued chatting when Thomas walked in, and was surprise to find his wife chatting and laughing with another woman. And also preparing dinner with her. But Alice and Rebecca didn't notice because they were busy chatting as they were cooking.

Not until Alice turned to find her husband standing and staring at her in shock. Alice smiled and went to hug Thomas.

"You are back. how was work?" She ask hugging Thomas. And collecting the things he was holding to keep.

"Work was fine." Thomas speak in a confusion.

Rebecca turned her gaze towards Thomas and gave him a welcoming smile.

"Honey meet Rebecca. She just move into our neighborhood newly.

Rebecca meet Thomas my husband."

Rebecca was standing with smile on her face. As she looks at the couples before her, while Alice was making the introduction.

"Ohh I see. Well miss or Mrs?

"Mrs." Rebecca answered.

"You are welcome to our neighborhood Mrs Rebecca nice to have you around." He said returning his gaze to Alice.

"Thank you Mr Thomas. Am glad to be here and having such a kind hearted people as my neighbor. She said.

"Well honey go freshen up we are almost done with the food."

"Okay my darling." He said going to the room to freshen up.

Few minutes later they were done cooking and setting the table.

They all sat together eating, chatting and laughing.

"Well I must be on my way now it's getting late, am really greatful I met the two of you ." Rebecca said getting up from her seat.

"Thank you so much for coming Rebecca." Alice said with smile on her face.

"Anytime Alice, I will see you tomorrow."

Rebecca left the house, Alice got up and pick the dishes from the table. Thomas was happy seeing his wife smiling.

"I see someone is happy." Thomas was smiling and walking towards his wife and hugged her from the back.

"Ohh common Thomas am just glad I meet someone different nothing more."

"Ohh really? Well that's good.

"Alright allow me to finish cleaning the dishes, I will join you in the room okay." Alice said.

"Okay then I will be waiting." Thomas replied.

Thomas went inside and Alice continued with the cleaning.
