"Be mine, I can take you around the world, wherever you wish,"
-Miran Mayer
______________
"Kimimela?" Her grandmother- Abuela, as she was fondly called, said. She was in the living room, knitting in her favorite chair.
Kimimela "Kim" Cortes hurried down the stairs, lugging a huge suitcase behind her. She tripped at the bottom step but still managed to maintain her balance. She hurried to meet her grandmother and kissed her cheek.
"I have to go, Abuela. My taxi is here and my flight is in four hours and I don't want to get stuck in traffic," Kim says.
"I know, I made you this scarf. I hear America's very cold," Abuela says.
"California isn't cold at this time of the year,"
"Still take it and this..." she sees what her grandmother is holding out to her.
"Come on, ma... you don't have to!" she groaned.
"Take this with you!" she slips a talisman into Kim's purse.
"Why?" She took it out and held it in her hands.
"When you come back, I want you to come with your husband," Her grandma holds her hands in hers. "This will get you a good husband. Put it-"
"Mother!" Lara Cortes-Kim's mother says, "Let her go, she doesn't have to come back with a man. She's only 24"
"I got married at nineteen!! At her age, I already had two kids and was expecting another. Why are you encouraging this child to be single?"
"No one is encouraging her!"
"You are!"
Kimimela watched them argue, going back and forth. She rolled her eyes, she was always their topic.
"I'm fine, it's my decision whether I come back with a man or not. I have to go. Love you, eat well," she picks up the suitcase and heads for the door.
"Alright dear, go safely. Tell Ava she should come to visit us soon, okay? Make sure you have all your meals, warm or hot, and don't stay up too late, okay? I love you."
"I'll try, mom," she kisses her cheek and then Abuela's. "Take good care of yourselves."
Kim grabs the handle of the door and holds it, she turns back at her family. She was going to miss them. She offered them a smile and walked out to meet the taxi that would take her to the airport.
She had decided to find her path in life, and start a new phase. Her family owned a ranch. They were farmers and earned a lot of money. With it, she wanted to explore California, make more money, and travel to other countries, hopefully finding her place.
***
Kim gets off the plane and walks to a crowd of people waiting for the arrival. She looks around and spots Ava- her childhood friend- holding her name up.
"Ava!" she rolls her bag running towards her. It's been four years. She missed seeing her badly.
"Oh my, I missed you!" Ava hugs her. "You look kind of fat though," she pulls her back, taking a good look at her.
"I'm not!" Kim argued, flipping her black hair behind her.
Ava laughs, "You look plumper and it suits you," she smiled.
"It does?"
"You are thick girl!"
Kim rolls her eyes. "First few minutes in California and you're talking about size. Just look at you!"
"What happened to me?" Ava furrowed her brows.
"You look beautiful," she smiled.
"I didn't gain any?" Ava pouts as they begin walking to the exit.
"You want to?" Kim asked.
"I don't know Jackson wants that," Ava's face falls.
"Oh, that's your man?"
"Don't sound like that! Come on, let's go," Ava tries to change the topic.
Kim is not ready to drop it. What kind of a man is he to try to change Ava? "You look beautiful, perfect. I know he's your man, but sincerely, he should get his eye checked. Do what you want," Kim says.
"Oh, Kim you won't understand," She takes her bag.
"Whatever, I'm a little jet-lagged but, let's have fun tonight! Show me California nighttime," Kim wraps her hands around Ava's shoulder.
"Already?" Ava chuckles and hurls Kim's bags into the boot. She has a convertible car, Kim opens the door and sits, she puts her seatbelt on.
"You're gonna love California, I promise," Ava opens the door and starts the car, driving off. Ava turns on the radio...
"Oh, perfect song!" Ava says, moving to the rhythm.
"This is my oh my!?" Kim asked.
"Yes, by Camilla Cabello," Ava says.
"No wonder I like it, I love her!" Kim says.
"Who doesn't?" Ava gazes at her for a second before taking her eyes to the road.
"They say he likes a good time!" Kim danced along to the rhythm.
"My, oh my," Ava choruses. "He comes alive at midnight," she continues singing while laughing.
"Every night," she honks.
"He's only here for one thing!" she runs her free hand down her jawline down to her tits going lower.
"A little bit older," Ava winks at her
"A black leather jacket, a bad reputation, Insatiable habits," Kim carries on.
"Girl, what?" Ava laughed at her waving her hands and biting her lips.
"He was onto me, one look and I couldn't breathe. Yeah, I said, ''If you kiss me," she kisses her cheek.
"I might let it happen," Ava winked, laughing her heart out.
"I swear on my life that I've been a good girl. Tonight, I don't wanna be her!" she raises her voice, she was into the song.
"Then don't be her!" She changed to a different lane.
"Where are we going?" she laughed.
"The club? It's not far from here," Ava says smiling.
"I can't go like this," she says. "My party's clothes are buried in my bag."
"We'll stop at the mall first, that's okay."
"But, we have work."
"You asked for this. We won't waste time, promise," Ava taps on her shoulder, focused on the road.
"I think we should go some other time. And I didn't think you would suggest a club," Kim says.
"Come on!" Ava cries. "What says I need new friends more than a party? Think about the people you can meet!"
"Ah, I'm tired," she throws her head back, gazing at the cars and people fading into a blur as they whiz past.
"You know, you haven't changed at all," Ava frowns.
"Whatever," Kim ignores her, "Let's go then, I'll show you how fun I am."
"Alright!" Ava booms, her mood brightened.
Ava and Kim stopped at a mall and bought matching red gowns. The neck was a low V that Kim wasn't particularly comfortable with but she liked it.
Kim walked into the club with Ava. They checked their IDs and were let in. The music was loud and bodies swayed on the dance floor. Neon lights flashed and danced against the walls and bodies filled the place. Being in the club for the first time in California, she stuck to Ava and followed her wherever she went.
"Kim, this is Jackson," Ava introduced her to a tall man with short back hair. He was drinking from a bottle. Kim shook hands with him.
She was seeing him in person for the first time. He was handsome, she understood why Ava got hooked. He was the sole reason Ava moved to California in the first place.
"Nice to meet you!" she yelled over the music.
He leaned into her, "Nice shape you got there." He said clear enough that Ava probably heard
"Excuse me?" he didn't hear her since he pulled away to stand straight.
Kim felt a bit uncomfortable. He was her best friend's man. Why would he say that? She knew Ava had issues with him concerning her body. She must feel insecure this is how he shamelessly checks women out.
"Thanks, you too!" She rolled her eyes, looked at Ava and she only smiled.
"Come on, let's head upstairs," Ava suggested.
"Alright, drink on me!" Jackson shouted.
Kim followed them. She ordered a cocktail while Ava asked for a mix of pineapple and vodka.
When they got their drinks, they danced together. But, Ava mostly danced with Jackson so she was more like a third wheel.
The black dress she had was short and it kept riding up her thighs. She had given up on tugging it down at this point so she kept dancing.
"Hey, I think someone is checking you out," Ava said into her ears.
"What where?" She turns back to look for the supposed someone.
"There," she juts her chin in his direction.
Kim's eyes follow. She spots a handsome-looking man. Although the light doesn't allow her to see much, she can tell he had dark eyes. His lips were thin and they seemed to glisten when the light came on them.
He had a couple of girls surrounding him and had a dull look on his face. The corner of his lips curved as he noticed that she was looking at him.
"He's been staring for some minutes now," she says.
"He isn't my type," Ava turned away from his direction and sipped her drink.
"And what type is he? Hot? Bad boy? You like those!"
"Well, not a womanizer. The guy is with ladies and he has the guts to look at another?"
"It's a free country," Kim looked back at him. He did have a bad boy look on him. She smiled at him, he took his eyes off her and kissed the girl close to him.
"He isn't my type, I said," she took her eyes off him.
"What was that?" Ava says, confused.
"Anyways, can we leave now?" she suggests, she was getting fed up with the club it wasn't her taste.
"I'm sorry, I can't now," Ava winked
"Why not?" She dropped her drink on a table. she looked back at him. She sort of liked the way he sat, he had his legs wide open. Like he was a king. Like he had power.
"Jackson doesn't want to leave now," Ava smiled, sheepishly.
"Girl," this guy has you on a leash, "we have work tomorrow."
"I know, I will catch up with you later. Here's the key to the apartment," Ava digs through her purse and hands Kim the keys. She tells her the address and number. "I would have given you keys to the car but, I don't know if you have a license or if a Mexican license is permitted so, catch a cab."
Kim shook her head, "Bye."
"I'll be home soon with your stuff," Ava heads closer to Jackson.
"Don't drink!"
She pulled down her dress, picked up her bag and she looked back at the young man, he had vanished.
Kim lets out a sigh. She walks out of the club and cool hair blows into her face. She inhaled deeply.
"Aah, better," She walked to the roadside. She felt like someone was watching her.
She looks about and her eyes fall on the black car parked by the curb, a little ways from her. The young man who was staring at her in the club was right in front of her, leaning beside his car. He had a lit cigarette between his fingers.
"Hey, Miran. I'm done, let's go." a woman walks over to him. His eyes don't leave Kim.
Kim quickly looked away, the intensity of the stare overwhelming her. She hailed the next taxi and got in, telling him the address.
Author's note: Don't forget to add this to your library, Thanks for reading.
Kim spreads her legs as a finger slips into her, teasing her with his thumb, breathing heavily with her locked eyes with him, the unknown man kisses her neck while he caresses her tits firmly. He trails his kiss to every part of her body making Kim moan as she enjoys the sensation. Kim closed her eyes, while her head went backwards in pleasure, her waist moved according to his fingers vigorously as she was about to cum.
"Hey, Kim!" Her eyes popped open, looking around, her gaze focused on Ava. "You're going to be late for work," she says.
"Huh?" She jumped off the bed.
"Did you enjoy your sleep?" Ava asked.
"Huh... " she picked up her towel, speechless, for a minute her dream looked so real.
"I guess you did, I'm off to work" she picks up her bag.
"Wait for me!"
"You left the club early because you wanted to wake up early but I'm leaving before you."
"You should have woken me up! Besides, how did you get up earlier than me?" she raised her voice.
"Maybe you're affected by time difference or something. I'll see you at work,"
"Ahhh!" Kim slams the bathroom door.
________________________
"Good morning," Kim greets the nurses at the desk. Her hand is around the strap of her shoulder bag and she smoothes out her skirt-one of her favorites that stops somewhere between her mid-thigh and knee. She also has on a white t-shirt.
"Good morning." the nurses replied.
" I'm Kimimela Cortes," Kim introduces herself.
"Oh, the new nurse. Welcome to California,"
"Thank you," Kim spots Ava going through a clipboard. She absentmindedly walks towards her, dressed in blue scrubs.
"There you are," Ava pulls her hands and leads her away.
"What?" she followed her.
"You have a patient," she increased her pace.
"Already?" she whined.
"Yeah, he has a case of gaseous inflammation and constipation," she looks back at her.
"What?" she laughed.
"Why are you laughing?" Ava asked.
"Well, it's funny."
"You're a nurse" Ava scolds her.
"Whatever," she rolls her eyes.
She opened the door and walked in.
"She's here," Ava introduces her.
"She?" a young man says, scanning her. The other nurse looked at her, she felt a bit uncomfortable.
"Isn't that skirt too short?" a nurse says.
"That isn't the problem," the man says.
"He is your patient," Kim looked at the old man, she thought it was going to be a young man.
"Okay..." she gulped.
"He just came out of surgery, you have to watch him closely for any side effects," she looked at Ava, she had given her the wrong information.
"Doesn't mean you won't attend to other things," the other nurse says.
"Alright," she agrees.
"After you change to your uniform," she adds.
"Oh, right. I was about to do that," she walked out.
"Kim, this way," Ava directs her.
"You mislead people," she complains.
"What?" Ava says, they walked to the changing room
"Constipation?" she mumblings.
"That's what I thought" Ava shrugs.
"Who's that woman?" She struggles with her shirt.
"Mrs willy?"
"She's married?" Kim's eyes popped. She looked young.
"Yeah, has a kid too. She's very annoying," Ava brushed.
"I noticed,"
Kim took off her clothes. Ava sees Kim's tits bounce as she takes off her shirt, it seems like they were waiting to be free.
"You're blessed, girl." Ava comments.
"Why? that I work under her?" she gawks at her.
"Actually no, I'm jealous of your body." she cried.
"Again with this, you're insane" Kim laughed.
"And you don't work under her. What does that even mean?" Ava laughed.
"I don't know, it's so confusing here," she wore her uniform.
"I can show you around. During lunch," Ava offers.
"Thanks," she wore her trousers and white crocs.
"See you later," Ava says.
"Where are you going?" She grips her hand.
"To work. I'm usually assisting the doctors in the theatre," Ava breaks loose from the hold.
"I don't understand you," Kim wraps her hands around Ava's waist.
"What?" Ava rolls her eyes but smiles. "You're being clingy."
"You just said..." Kim stops, seeing Mrs willy by the door.
"What is going on here?" Mrs willy opens the door. Her eyes trained on them. They pull apart.
"I'm sorry, it's not what you think. I was just-" Ava tried to explain. This must look bad.
"I don't care. This is a workplace. Lives are at stake, you don't have the time to frolic or dilly-dally around,"
"Sorry about that," Ava apologizes as she and Kim find their way out of the changing room.
***
Kim walked down the hallway. She held her phone in her hand and looked at the time. She was exhausted and on her first day? They seemed to have more patients than in the hospital she worked at in Mexico.
"Kim!" a female voice calls her, she quickly narrowed her gaze toward her
"Yes? What is it?" Kim asks, taking the strands of her hair away from her face.
"You're needed at the emergency room!" she says running off.
Kim ran along with her, she got to the wide-area and Ava waved her over. She looked around, the emergency was huge and the whole day she hadn't been into wards only.
Kimimela came closer to Ava, she heard a man growl as she came closer the sound became louder.
"He got stabbed," Ava says, rubbing her hand.
"What?" she breathes hard trying to catch her breath from the little race she had just done.
"I think we know him," she whispered in her ears, she graced her lips with a cunning smile and winked at Kim.
"Huh?" Kim returned the smile awkwardly, she walked over to the curtain and opened it. Seeing the young handsome, bad, playboy she had met at the club, her smile vanished and her face filled with disappointment. He was the reason why she had a sex dream and now he was right at her front.
Ava stepped closer to her "I will leave him to you," she says, pulling the nurses away.
"Hey! Where are you going?" she pulled her hands, whispering beneath her teeth.
"You can do this," Ava says, letting out a soft moan. "I'll be back in a couple of minutes."
"Excuse me?" he called, hoping to get her attention, He was sprawled on the bed. His hands pressed against the piece of clothing on his wound. His hands were stained with blood.
"Hmm?'' She pulled the tray close to her. "How... How did..." Kim briefly closed her eyes, he made her nervous and she bet he could tell "How... Gosh how did this happen?" she stammered.
Playboy had no response, he growled in pain, despite the pain, a pretty smile graced his lips.
"I need you to take your hands off," Kim instructed. She placed her hand over his and he hesitated before slipping his hand out.
"Okay," he says, staring at her constantly, he wasn't taking his eyes off her. The lady at his front was a gorgeous nurse.
Kim pulled closer. She took off the cloth carefully in case there was a cut artery or vein that would cause him to bleed out. Luckily there wasn't. The bleeding had slowed.
"I'm going to clean this up. It's going to sting a lot," She said, not waiting for his reply Kim grabbed her scissors and cut a part of his trousers open so that she had access to his wound.
Kim cleaned up his wound. He watched her carefully like he was going to practice more at home. She wiped the edges and then the cut.
"Ahhh," he grabbed her hands, and Kim gulped. "Could you at least be gentle?" She locked eyes with him.
"I'm sorry, I thought I was being gentle," she took her eyes down. "Can you let go?"
He gently let go of her hand. "Do I scare you?" he says.
Kim continued cleaning up his wound. She replied, "Why should you?" she says, staring closely at him.
"I can feel you shake," he says.
"I'm just nervous, that's all. I have to be careful" she continued, avoiding eye contact, she knew he would have remembered her from last night.
"I see, are you always this careful?" he relaxed.
"Yes, I am," she reluctantly answers.
"You're hot for a doctor" he looked at her, Kim looked up at him. "At the club" he added.
"I'm a nurse," she corrected, "And the club, I guess we are all humans" she defended.
"A nurse" he repeats. "I don't mind, but you're here at my front"
"Yeah, and I'm done. You're going to need stitches. I'll get someone for you in a bit," she covers it with a bandage.
"Are you sure?" he asked, Kim followed his eye, he stared at her chest.
"Yeah, I am. Keep your eyes on my face, please," she says uncomfortably. She could tell he was admiring her body, she knew she wasn't really uncomfortable, she could even let him take them off. She shook her dirty thoughts away.
He chuckled, "Can I at least have your number?" he stopped her from leaving, grabbing her wrist.
She looked at him, he had so much confidence.
"No, you can't," she says holding her lust in,
"Why?" He asked, pouting at her.
"Because you're my patients." she breaks loose from his hold and starts to pack.
"Is that all?" he smiled at her. He looked cute with his smile, his black hair covered his forehead. she shook the thoughts away from her head.
"I also don't want to give you my number. You're a stranger. Who's to say you're not a serial killer who will track my phone and cut me into a million pieces?"
He frowned. "That was gory." he chuckled.
"Excuse me then," Kim says, covering his curtain.
"Do I go home?" he says.
"After your stitches. You can rest up before you leave, come back tomorrow for..." she paused, tomorrow? she would be seeing him.
"I should come tomorrow? alright," Miran agrees.
"Actually, I don't think it's necessary," she denied. "But, I think the other nurse would attend to you."
"I should if you say so, although I would prefer if it was you," he lays back on the bed slowly.
"Kim," Ava called.
"Kim huh?" he says softly.
Kim was too stunned to speak. Her name sounded perfect coming from him. She looked back at him in the space between the curtain. "What Kim exactly?" he smirked.
"Are you done?" Ava asks.
"Yeah," she looked back at him, he had his eyes closed, he acted strangely. She walks away with Ava.
"What's wrong?" Ava says.
"Nothing. He needs stitches and I'm not doing it."
"Why? What happened?"
"Why did you call me?" she flares up.
"What? I will soon get off work."
"He was checking me out and he asked for my number!"
"That's good then," Ava says.
"I need to wash up and get my clothes," she drops the tray.
"Alright," Ava says, "I will wait for you outside."
"Let's grab something to eat," she offers.
"Ah, I'm going with Jackson," Ava says smiling. Ava looked at her with disgust.
"Oh, Jackson," she said mockingly, "You aren't making California fun for me. As you promised."
"Then hook up," she nudged her.
"No way, he looks creepy," she shakes it off.
"Hmmm, well have dinner alone," she walks away.
Kim meets Ava at the exit and they head home. Ava prepared for her dinner date with Jackson while Kim ordered dinner.
Kim changed into a large t-shirt and black shorts before she took out her phone. Her mother had left her seven missed calls. She unlocked her phone and dialled her number.
"Mom?" she says laying on the bed.
"Have you eaten dear?" her mother says over the phone.
"Uh, yeah," she struggles with sleep.
"I hope it wasn't pizza or some
fake junk food,"
"No. It was real food with lots of carrots and vegetables," Kim chuckled, yawning.
Kim hummed in response, turning to her left side.
"How was work?" her mother says. Kim's eyes slowly closed as she spoke with her mother on the phone.

"Let me take you out for dinner," he says.

"Sir, why are we here?" His driver asks as he pulls into the parking lot.
"To treat my wounds," he plays with a lighter, flicking the lid open and then closing.
"I heard you came to the hospital yesterday,"
"Yeah, Lina took me there." He smiled looking outside.
"But you don't usually go to the hospital," The driver killed the engine.
"I know, but she insisted," he says, watching Kimimela from this car. She looked dazzling, she smiled at Ava entering the hospital.
"Are you going in now?" he asked.
"Kim?" he whispered her name, "I want her."
"Sir?" The driver asks, confused. "Kim?"
_____________________
"Kim?"
"Yes?" She looked back at the lady that called her. It was Sandra.
"Someone is out there looking for you,"
"Me? Why?" Kim placed the clipboard she was going through on the desk.
"He said he's your patient."
"Did he say his name?" She prayed internally that it would be a different person from the weird guy she treated yesterday.
"No. He says you would know who he is." Sandra replies.
Kim's face dropped. "Alright, tell him to give me a minute," she tells her.
"Okay," Sandra left.
Kim steps out of the coffee room. She walks to the hospital lobby and finds a middle-aged man standing. She was somewhat relieved.
"Him?" She looked at Sandra who was typing into a computer.
"No, that one." She points to Miran.
"He isn't my patient," Kim says with finality and turns to Sandra.
"He isn't?"
Kim takes deep breaths. He was frustrated.
"He sort of is," Kim sighs, "I cleaned him up yesterday and had another nurse stitch him up. He's technically her patient now."
Miran notices Kim and walks over to them. "Thank you," he says to Sandra while he struggles with his leg.
"Why are you here?" She asked through her clenched teeth.
"You told me to come today," he gives a big smile.
"I did, I know but, why did you ask for me?" Kim asked.
"You're gonna treat me?"
Kim looked at him. He was too confident, she rolled her eyes and said, "Follow me." She starts to walk away.
"Okay," Miran follows her into a room.
"Seat." She beckons to him while she stands. "I thought I told you yesterday that another nurse would see you today."
"You did but, you attended to me first. You're nicer."
"I have a job. There are far more urgent patients than you who just need a change of bandages. You can do that anywhere. Why do you have to come here?" Kim asked, exasperated.
"Because of you," Miran says calmly.
"I don't think you should do that." She unwrapped his bandages and took her time cleaning the cut.
"Why can't I?" He says.
"Because it's inappropriate. You're at my workplace and you're wasting my time," she says, cleaning it up.
"Doesn't matter, what should I do to get you to look at me?" he relaxed.
"You're cute, you know." she laughs.
"Am I? Then let me take you out for dinner."
Kim paused, she looked at him and he smiled at her.
"Why should you?" She asks instead.
"I will pick you up by 6 pm..." he looked at her.
"Girls like to be asked, not told." Kim began to wrap up the cut.
"You have an ID card today."
"Ah, yes I just got it."
"Kimimela Cortes," he smiled. "I was dying to know what Kim," he says. "Do you know what your name means?" He tilted his head.
"Little butterflies?" She says, raising her gaze at him, she rolled her eyes, did he think she wouldn't know.
"Hmm, butterflies" he smiles, "Wouldn't you like to feel them? I mean the butterflies," he says, Kim paused.
"You should go now," She says as she finishes up, while she clears her throat, he amuses her.
"What do you say?" He holds out his hands.
"I'm too busy today," she said.
"I will take that as a yes" Miran gets up holding his leg. Her eyes travelled the length of his body. She hasn't really studied him well but he looked well off.
"It's a no," she insisted.
"Why?" he grinned.
"Because I don't even know your name, you have an injured leg. Why should I eat with-"
"Miran Mayer," he says.
"What?"
"My name. And my leg won't be an issue. See you at six. Thank you... Kimimela," he winked at her before wobbling out of the room.
_______________________
Why should I go out for dinner with him? It hasn't even been a week and she is already getting herself involved with a stranger.
"Miran?" She muttered to herself. She looked the name up. "Hmm, Arab origin." She typed in his last name. "German? That's weird."
"What's wrong with you?" Ava asked.
"It's nothing," Kim typed Miran's full name into the search engine.
"Kim?" Ava called.
"Hm?" she replied looking at her phone. "Oh my goodness!" She couldn't believe what she was seeing.
"What? What?" Ava scoots closer to her. She snatches the phone, "Who is... wait a minute."
"Give me my phone," Kim was amazed by what she had seen.
"Wasn't he the one at the club?? And the hospital too?"
"I can't believe this. He asked me out to dinner this evening."
Ava gaped. "Wow, you hit the jackpot girl, an Arab billionaire!!"
"Hush!" Kim said, looking around. "We're at work, keep your voice down!"
"Look at you girl!"
"Why would he go after me?" Kim wondered aloud.
"After what he saw at the club, if I were him, I would do the same," Ava remarked.
"Don't play with me," she blushed.
"I'm serious."
"Whatever, wow. I'm stunned, he's into so many things," She says looking at her phone.
"Nah, Kim I must say, you really scored it big," She cries.
"It's one date. It doesn't mean anything. And I think he's German."
"What?" Ava was intrigued. She locks her arm with Kimimela.
"His last name is German, so he must be German."
"Also from the United Arab Emirates. Born and raised."
"His mother seems to be the Arab one."
"Yeah."
"He asked me out for dinner," She says, what it means finally dawning on her. She smiled.
"Ooooou, look at you."
"I'm just kidding," She wiped the smile off. "I told him no. I'm not going."
"Why?"
"You know I don't like attention. If he's that popular and rich and we start something, the word is sure to go around." She explains.
"But still, if you fall for him, you wouldn't mind. Think about how popularity will help your career. Think about the exposure." Ava tried to convince her.
"I don't care. If I was an actress, then the exposure would be nice. But, I'm a nurse. It doesn't change anything."
"He's popular in the business sector, people don't give two cents about it."
"They will, once he falls in love with someone," she argues. "That someone is not me."
"You make a point... but you're not gonna give him a chance at least? If you don't, he might keep chasing after you. He looks ambitious."
"He'll eventually get tired and give up. I just have to play hard to get and give him warnings," she smiled at her.
"So ambitious," Ava says smiling.
"Nurses and gossip," Mr Williams- the hospital director said as he walked over to them. "You aren't going home yet?"
"We are. We were about to head to the changing room. Bye, sir." Ava pulls Kim away.
"That man..." Kim begins.
"Mr William, right?"
"Yes, I don't like the way he stares at me." She says picking up her bag.
"Ahhh, everyone has complained about it," Ava says.
"So it's not just me?" She breathes.
"He's looked at pretty much all the female nurses like that before. Including me,"
"That's better," she smiled.
"It could be a weird way of showing his respect and we could be misunderstanding it."
"I'd rather misunderstand it and be wrong than brush it off as nothing and still be wrong."
"You're right,"
Ava and Kimimela walked out of the hospital laughing as they told each other stories.
"Oh my god," Kim jumped, seeing him in front of the hospital. He wore an all-black with a black car.
"Wow," Ava whispered.
"That was a long wait," He says, pushing out of his car and heading towards them.
"No one asked you to wait." she breathes.
"Our dinner, did you forget?"
"I said no, did you forget?" Kim returns.
"Can I borrow her tonight?" He asks Ava.
"Of course!" She pushed Kim to him.
"Hey!"
"Just for tonight," She says in sign language.
"Oh, you do sign too?" He smiled.
"Mr Mayer..." She says.
"I see you remembered my name," He smirks.
"Well, I have a smart brain. And you're the latest thorn in my heel," She says.
"Wow, quite the comparison," he says. "Where would you like to go?"
Kim groaned. "This is a one-time thing. I'm only doing this because I haven't eaten dinner, I won't next time" she said looking away.
Miran smiled, "This way," he directed her to his car.

"How can I help you?" A waiter walks up to their table.
"Miss Cortes," Miran beckons.
"Just Kim," She smiles and looks at the menu.
"Okay..." He looked at his menu too.
"I would like... pasta and chicken," She says.
"Alright..." He took her order. "What about you Sir?"
"The same as the lady."
"Okay. If that'll be all..." The waiter bowed and left.
"Spanish?" Miran guessed.
"No, Mexican." She says.
"Wow."
"What's wrong?" Kim asked.
"You amaze me, that's all."
"Ahhh? I see." She nods to his words, he had a way with words and she liked that.
"Do you speak Spanish?" He asked.
"Yes, of course."
"I guess it would be awkward if I ask you to speak," Miran says.
"usted es guapo, señor," She says, Miran smiles and looked up at her.
" Gracias hermosa," He replies.
"Oh my!" she pinched her lips.
"It's nice of you to compliment my looks." He laughed, earning a smile from her.
