Chapter 1 A Night To remember

In the elegant hotel lounge, Julia Robin sat across from her blind date, and her eyes widened in surprise. He was even more handsome than she had expected, with chiseled features and an air of confidence that commanded attention. This was her third blind date in the last two months, all orchestrated by her friend Vanessa, who wished to see her get into a relationship with someone that would truly love and care for her.

Julia, who was a soft-spoken, stunning and successful twenty-five year old, had been too focused on her career to think about marriage, which worried her friends. So, they had taken matters into her own hands, setting up blind dates in hopes of finding the perfect match for Julia. And now, she was face-to-face with the most impressive candidate yet.

But Julia was willing to look beyond physical appearance and get straight to the point. So she decided to ask a direct question,

When do you plan on getting married? Her mind was made up to skip the dating process only if his expectations weren't too demanding. Her mother's wish was to see her get married, and Julia was willing to compromise it if it meant fulfilling her mother's wishes.

The man was surprised by her bluntness, but his bright smile put her at ease. "We've just met, right? He said, his warm tone disarming her. Julia felt a flutter in her chest as she introduced herself. I'm Julia Robin.

I'm Max Wellington, he replied, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "And I must say, Julia, you're quite direct.

Julia laughed, feeling a hint of embarrassment. "I guess I am. My mother's desire is to see me settle down, and I figure, why waste time, right?

Max chuckled. "I like your honesty.

But tell me, what makes you think I'm the type that would want to settle down?

Julia studied him, taking in the sharp jawline and piercing blue eyes. "Well my instinct says you're the type who has his life together. And my friend did some research, she said you're doing well in your chosen career."

Max raised an eyebrow. "Your friend sure did her homework.

Julia nodded, feeling a bit apologetic. "She means well. She just wants to see me happy.

Max leaned in, his voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "I think we both know our loved ones always want us to be happy, but sometimes they forget we have our own plans."

Julia smiled, feeling a spark of connection between them. "Exactly! I mean, I love my mother, but sometimes she forgets I'm an adult."

Max laughed. "I know the feeling. So, tell me Julia, what do you do?

Oh that ! I am a fashion designer.

"Max right?, yes, that's me," Max confirmed, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiled. "And I must say, Julia, you're quite impressive. A successful fashion designer, and you're also responsible for your mother? That's admirable."

Julia blushed, feeling a sense of relief that Max seemed to understand her situation. "Yeah, well, someone's got to take care of her. And I'm happy to do it."

Max nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I can relate. I've been on my own since my parents passed away, and it's not always easy. But it sounds like we both have a strong sense of responsibility."

Julia concurred. "Yeah, I think we do. And I must say, I'm surprised. I didn't expect this."

Max raised an eyebrow. This?!

Julia laughed. "You know, a normal conversation.

I was expecting some kind of... I don't know, a weirdo or something."

Max chuckled. "Well, I'm glad I could surprise you. And I have to say, I'm impressed by your honesty. Most people wouldn't admit to being on a blind date, let alone one set up by someone else."

Julia shrugged. "Well, I thought about it, there isn't any use hiding it.

Why hide it? We're both here for the same reason, right?"

Max nodded, his eyes locked on hers. "Right. And I think we both know what we're looking for. Someone to share our lives with, someone to trust and support us."

Julia felt a flutter in her chest as she met his gaze. "Exactly. And I think we both know that marriage is a big step. It's not something to be taken lightly."

Max agreed, his expression serious. "Absolutely. Which is why I'm glad we're having this conversation. Julia, I think we both need to be honest with each other if we want to make this work."

So tell me something, Julia. What do you think is the key to a successful marriage?

Julia exhaled: "Hmm, that's a great question. I think communication is essential. And trust, of course."

Max said: "Absolutely. And I think it's important to have similar values and goals.

What are your thoughts on family?"

"I love kids! I've always wanted a big family. How about you?"

Max: "oh! Me too. I come from a big family, and I've always wanted to continue that tradition."

Hmm, "That's amazing! I truly feel like we're really connecting, Max. Like we're on the same wavelength.

"I know exactly what you mean, Julia. I feel like I've known you my whole life. And I have to say, I'm really enjoying your company."

"Likewise, Max. This has been one of the best blind dates I've ever been on.

Max replied softly, "Me too! And I have to say, I'm really glad that a friend of yours actually brought us. She sure does have great taste!

Julia: laughs "I'll have to pass that compliment to her. She'll be thrilled to hear it."

"So, Julia, would you like to go out on another date with me? Maybe something a bit more adventurous next time?"

"I'd love to, Max! What did you have in mind?"

"Well, I was thinking of maybe a hot air balloon ride or a hike in the mountains. Something to get our hearts racing!

Julia said: excitedly "That sounds amazing, I'm in!"

"Great! I'll pick you up at 8 am on Saturday.

"Sounds like a plan. And Max?"

"Yes?"

"Thank you for tonight. I really needed this."

"Anytime, Julia.

"So tell me Max, what's the most spontaneous thing you've ever done?"

"Hmm, that's a great question! I think it was when I decided to quit my job and travel across Europe for a month. Best decision I ever made!"

"Wow, that sounds incredible! I've always wanted to travel more. What was your favorite place you visited?"

"Tuscany, Italy. The food, the wine, the scenery. it was all just so breathtaking. And the people were so friendly and welcoming.

"That sounds amazing. I'll have to add it to my bucket list. And what's the craziest thing you did while you were there?"

Max laughs "Well, I may or may not have gone skydiving in the Tuscan countryside. It was exhilarating and terrifying all at once!"

Julia laughs "That's so cool! I'm a bit jealous, actually. I've always wanted to try skydiving."

"You should do it! It's an incredible rush. And who knows, maybe we can go together someday."

Julia smiled, "I'd like that."

"So, Julia, what's the most adventurous thing you've ever done?"

Julia thought for a moment, "I think it was when I decided to start my own fashion label. It was scary and risky, but it's been so worth it."

That's amazing! I'm so impressed. You're a true entrepreneur at heart. And I have to say, your designs are stunning. I've been looking at your website, and I love your style."

Julia blushes"Thank you, Max. That means a lot of coming from you."

Chapter 2 Getting Along.

Can you please tell me? What's the story behind your brand name, 'Julia's Enchanted'? It's so whimsical and charming."

thank you! I'm so glad you like it. I actually named it after my childhood nickname, 'Enchanted Julia'. My mother used to call me that when I was little, and it just stuck. And I think it captures the essence of my brand perfectly; magical, whimsical, and a little bit adventurous."

"I love that! It's so sweet that you named your brand after your childhood nickname. And I can see why your mother called you that, you do have a certain sparkle that can really enchant anyone.

Thank you, Max! You're making me blush!"

"That's the idea! So, what's the most enchanting thing that's ever happened to you?

Hmm, I think it was when I was a little girl, and my mother took me to see ballet dance for the first time. It was like magic, the music, the dancing, and the costumes. It all just came together in this perfect, enchanting way."

"That sounds incredible! I can see why it should be such a special memory for you. And I have to ask, have you ever thought of incorporating that magic into your designs?"

Actually, I have! I've been thinking of making a new collection inspired by the ballet - the tutus, the pointe shoes, the drama and elegance of it all... I think it could be really something special."

Max said honestly: "I think that's a fantastic idea, Julia! You should totally do it. And I'd love to help you brainstorm - maybe we could even collaborate on a few pieces?"

She smiled, I'd love that, Max! Let's do it!"

"Great! And who knows, maybe we'll create something truly enchanting together."

"I have a feeling we will."

"Oh, Max, you're such a charmer! But I think we should focus on our businesses for now, don't you?

Of course, but I can't help it if I'm drawn to beautiful and talented women like yourself, Julia."

"Well, I suppose I can't blame you for that. But let's keep things going for now, okay?"

He just smiled and said "Okay. But just remember, I'm always here to help you with anything you need, business or otherwise."

"I'll keep that in mind, Max. And who knows, maybe someday we'll collaborate on something truly special."

Max raised an eyebrow. "I'm counting on it, Julia. And I have a feeling it's going to be something truly enchanting."

She laughs "You're such a romantic Max! But I like that about you."

He smirks "And I like that you're a true entrepreneur at heart, Julia. You're not afraid to take risks and go after what you want."

"That's what it takes to succeed in this world,

Max. I think we both have what it takes to make our dreams come true."

Max nodded, "I couldn't agree more, Julia. And I think we're just getting started on this wild ride called life."

As the evening drew to a close, Max walked Emma out of the hotel lounge, the cool night air enveloping them. "Would you like to grab dinner with me sometime this week?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with interest.

Julia hesitated, her mind racing. She had promised her mother she'd give this blind date a chance, but she hadn't expected to actually enjoy herself. "I'd love to," she said finally, a smile spreading across her face.

Max grinned, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Great. I'll pick you up at 7 pm on Thursday?

"Sounds perfect. But don't expect me to dress up too much, I'm a jean and t-shirt kind of girl."

Max laughs, "I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm a fan of casual elegance myself, and besides, I think you'd look beautiful in anything."

Her face flushed red instantly. "You're making me blush, Max. But I have to say, I'm really looking forward to Thursday."

"Me too, Julia. And who knows, maybe we'll even discover some more common ground beyond our love of adventure and entrepreneurship."

"I'm counting on it, Max. And maybe we can even plan a future adventure together."

He said excitedly "Now that's an idea I can get behind! The world is our playground, Julia. And I'd love to explore it with you by my side."

"I'd like that, Max. And who knows, maybe we'll even create our own enchanting story along the way.

"I'm counting on it, Julia. And I have a feeling it's going to be a bestseller."

A love story for the ages, huh? You're really aiming high, aren't you, Max?

"Why settle for anything less, Julia? I think we have something special here, and I'm willing to take a chance to make it unforgettable."

She replied with a smile, "I like your enthusiasm, Max. And I have to admit, I feel a connection with you too. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, okay?"

He chuckled "okay. I promise to take baby steps, just so I can savor every moment with you, Julia. But I have to ask, what's the most important thing you're looking for in a relationship?"

"Hmm. I think it's trust. I need to know that I can rely on my partner through thick and thin."

"I couldn't agree more, Julia. Trust is everything. And I promise to be someone you can always count on."

"I appreciate that, Max. And I think we're off to a great start.

And just then, Julia suddenly popped the question: Would you like to get married now?

Max Wellington was surprised and confused at the same time, he thought. Didn't she ask that we take it one step at a time?

No woman had ever proposed to him like that before, especially not on a blind date! He thought to himself, "Is she desperate or just really eager to settle down?" But as he looked into her eyes, he saw something there that made him pause. It was a sense of determination, a sense of "I know what I want, and I'm not afraid to go for it."

He just smiled softly and said, "Well, Julia, I must say, you're certainly a breath of fresh air. I like your honesty and your straightforwardness. And I must admit, I'm also feeling the pressure from... I mean to settle down. So, why not? Let's go get that marriage license!"

Julia's face lit up with a smile, and she stood up, document in hand. "Great! Let's go!"

As they walked out of the hotel lounge, Max couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He had never thought he'd be the type to get married on a whim, but there was something about Julia that made him feel like this was right.

As they walked to the Registry, Julia asked him about his family and his background. Max told her about his parents, who had passed away a few years ago, and how he was an only child. He told her about his job at the Darius Group, and his passion for photography.

She listened intently, asking questions and showing genuine interest. Max felt like he was opening up to her in ways he never had with anyone before.

When they arrived at the Registry, they filled out the paperwork and got their marriage license. As they walked out, Julia turned to him and said, "You know, Max, I think this is the start of something beautiful."

Max smiled and took her hand, feeling a sense of hope and excitement for the future. "I think you might be right, Julia."

As they walked hand in hand, Max couldn't help but notice the way Julia's eyes sparkled in the sunlight. He felt a sense of joy and freedom that he had never experienced before. "You know, Julia," he said, "I never thought I'd be the type to get married on a whim, but I'm so glad I did."

Julia smiled and squeezed his hand. "Me too, Max. Me too. And who knows, maybe we'll even fall in love along the way."

Max chuckled and pulled her close. "I think that's already happening, Julia.

As they walked, they talked about their plans for the future. They discussed everything from where they would live to what kind of family they wanted to have. Max was amazed at how much they had in common, and how easy it was to talk to Julia.

After a while, they found themselves at the edge of a beautiful park. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow over the trees and flowers. Julia turned to him and said, "You know, Max, I think this is the perfect spot for our first kiss as husband and wife."

Max smiled and pulled her close. "I couldn't agree more, Julia," he said, and leaned in to kiss her.

As their lips touched, Max felt a sense of happiness and contentment that he had never felt before. He knew that he had made the right decision in marrying Julia, and he couldn't wait to see what the future held for them.

Chapter 3 Julia Broke The News To Samantha.

After getting the marriage license, they went their separate ways. That night Julia struggled to fall asleep. She couldn't stop thinking of Max Wellington and how quickly they had connected.

The sun had barely risen over the horizon when Julia's phone rang. It was her friend Samantha, and she sounded excited. "Hey, girl! I'm outside. Let's go!"

Julia laughed, got up from bed and quickly took a quick shower, dressed up and then got into Samantha's sleek red Mercedes. "What's the hurry?"

Samantha grinned mischievously. "I heard your car's in the shop again. You need to upgrade, Julia! That old thing is holding you back.

Julia chuckled. It's not that bad, and besides, I like fixing it up. It's like a project.

Samantha raised an eyebrow. You're such a do-it yourself, enthusiast. But seriously, when are you going to treat yourself to a new set of wheels?"

As they drove, Samantha couldn't help but pry into Julia's love life. "So, are you dating anyone? You're still young and talented, you deserve someone amazing."

Julia's heart skipped a beat at the mention of relationships, but she brushed it off. I'm good, Samy. Don't worry about me.

Samantha wouldn't let it go.

I heard Vanessa set you up on a blind date. How did that go?"

Julia hesitated before dropping the bombshell. "Actually, I got married."

Samantha slammed on the brakes, and the car came to a sudden halt.

What?!

You're married?!

When and how?

She just parked by a coffee shop, pulled Julia out of the car and they both went into the coffee shop. Tell me everything!"

Julia couldn't help but laugh at Samantha's reaction. Well, his name is Max Wellington. He's local, works for the Darius Group, and that's about it for now."

Samantha's eyes widened. "Max Wellington? That name sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it.

As they sipped coffee at a nearby café, Samantha fired off questions like a machine gun. "Does he own a house? How much does he make? Is he going to support you?"

Julia shook her head, amused. "I didn't ask about his income, Samy. I can take care of myself. And we agreed to split bills jointly."

Samantha's jaw dropped. You're not thinking about the future at all, are you? Joint finances? That's not a long-term plan, Julia!"

Julia quietly explained, I proposed all of this, Samy. I didn't want to take advantage of him. And no one knows what the future holds.

Samantha stared at Julia perplexed, still trying to wrap her head around the situation. "Well, I guess I'll just have to meet this Max Wellington and see what he's all about."

As they continued drinking their coffee, Samantha mentioned the upcoming class reunion. You should come, Julia! William Brooklyn will be there, and who knows... maybe you two can rekindle something.

Julia smiled politely but firmly declined. I don't think so, Samy. I'm married now, and I should be faithful to Max. Besides, he's been good to me so far.

Samantha nodded understandingly but couldn't help but wonder what Julia was getting herself into. Little did she know, Julia's new life with Max was just beginning, full of surprises.

Samantha's eyes narrowed, her voice firm but curious. So, you're telling me you married a guy without even knowing his income or if he owns a house? What's going on, Julia?"

Julia's expression turned serious. "I know it's not the conventional marriage, Samy, but I'm trying something new here. And Max's been good to me so far. I'll make it work for as long as it lasts.

Samantha sighed, her voice softening. "I just want you to be happy, Julia. And I know you deserve someone who can provide for you. Maybe you should reconsider going to the class reunion next week. At least get to meet with William Brooklyn, and well, you know how things were between you two before.

Julia's smile faltered for a moment before she regained her composure. I'm glad you said before, Samy. I shouldn't go. I'm married now, and I need to stay faithful to Max. Besides, I'm not interested in rekindling anything with Williams. My life is with Max now.

Samantha didn't want to push further, though her eyes still held a hint of concern. Alright, Julia. Just be careful, okay? I don't want you to get hurt.

Smantha leaned in, her voice taking on a conspiratorial tone. "But, between you and me, Julia, I'm still curious about this Max guy. What's he like? Is he handsome? Charming? Tell me everything!"

Julia laughed, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "Well, Samy, he's definitely charming. And handsome? Oh, yes. But, more importantly, he's kind and respectful. He treats me like an equal, and that's all that matters to me.

Samantha looked sternly. Respectful? That's not exactly the most exciting adjective, Julia. Don't you want someone who'll sweep you off your feet?"

Julia's expression turned thoughtful. I used to think that was what I wanted, Samy. But, after everything that's happened, I realize I need someone who'll support me, not try to control me. Max does do that. And, who knows, maybe one day I'll even fall deeply in love with him.

Samantha's eyes widened in surprise. "You mean you're not in love with him yet? Julia, you're married to the man!"

Julia thought about it for a moment before she regained her composure. It's complicated, Samy. Let's just say I'm taking things one step at a time. And, for now, I'm happy with the way things are.

Samantha nodded, though her expression still held a hint of skepticism. "Alright, Julia. I trust you. But, promise me one thing? if things go sour, you'll come to me, okay?

Julia's face softened, her voice filled with gratitude. "I promise, Samy. And, thank you for being such a good friend. You're always there for me, no matter what."

Samantha was about to dish out more advice when Julia's phone suddenly rang, breaking the conversation. Julia was surprised as she checked the caller ID, her cheeks flushed slightly red. "Oh, it's Max," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Samantha's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Your husband?" she asked, her voice laced with excitement.

Julia nodded, her face softening as she answered the call. "Hey, where are you?" she asked, her voice melting at the sound of Max's warm tone.

"I'm coming to see you," Max replied, his voice soothing Julia's heart. "What's going on? Are you okay?"

Julia's eyes met Samantha's, and she mouthed"my husband" before focusing back on the call. "I'm out with a friend," she said, her voice low and gentle. "What's going on? Are you okay?"

Samantha leaned in, her ears perked up, trying to catch every word of the conversation.

"I'm okay," Max said. "Just taking care of some business. Send me your location, and I'll pick you up when you're done.

Julia's eyes darted to Samantha, and she said quietly "I have to go" before speaking into the phone. I'm done. I'll send you the address now.

As she ended the call, Samantha raised her head. "Looks like you're in trouble, Julia!" she teased, her voice laced with sarcasm. "She made a fuzzy sound, the way you said 'my husband'!"

Julia laughed, her cheeks flushed red. I know, but I promise I won't keep anything from you, deal?"

Samantha nodded, her expression turning serious. Deal! And remember, if he ever mistreats you, I'm just a call away.

Not long after, Julia sent Max her location, and he arrived, sending a simple message: "I'm here."

Samantha grinned, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Well, it looks like your husband is waiting, Julia! Go give him a kiss from me!

Julia blushed and rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "I'll pass on the kiss, but thanks for understanding, Samy. I'll catch up with you soon?"

Samantha nodded, her expression turning serious once more. "Julia. And remember, I'm always here for you, no matter what.
