Chapter 1 Events that unfolded

Stella woke up to find that her husband was not at her bedside. She walked outside, hoping to find him there.

But what did she hear? The sighs and moans of a woman having sex.

"Come on, baby. Harder. Faster!"

Stella peeked through the crack in the open door and saw her husband upstairs, naked.

"You're enjoying it, sighing like that. I like the sound of your voice," he said, dropping a vase of flowers.

Prak

"Did you hear that?"

Not wanting her whereabouts to be known, Stella hurried back to the room.

As the night wore on, Stella, who was having trouble sleeping, opened her eyes again when her husband embraced her with his burly arms.

His hugs used to make her feel comfortable, but now she felt disgusted, especially considering the woman's passionate sighs.

"I'm going to take a shower!" Stella said, getting up from the bed.

Jenson stared in surprise. "Shower?" You're set... Are you crying?" he asked, noticing her puffy face. "Did something bad happen to you?" He asked again.

"No, I just miss my mom and dad." She answered briefly.

"Oh, really? Then let's visit your parents' graves. I'll take you, dear."

Stella stood still. Her mind was still filled with the events of last night. Jason's actions left her feeling disappointed and hurt. She didn't want to talk much, let alone spend time with her husband.

"I want to go alone. You don't need to accompany me," she replied briefly before going into the bathroom to get ready.

For the first time in months, Stella joined the family for breakfast that morning after being busy with work. She sat across from Jason at the dining table.

"Mom, are we finally having breakfast together?" Rafael exclaimed happily.

"Of course, dear. From now on, I'll make time to eat with you," she replied with a smile that seemed bitter. Her gaze shifted to Jason, cold and hard to interpret.

"That's a good decision, dear. You should really put your family before your projects," said Jason, trying to sound wise.

Stella took a slice of bread, spread peanut butter on it, and gave it to Rafael.

"Mom, I don't like peanut butter. I like Aunt Mary's chocolate bread!" he protested, crossing his arms over his chest.

Stella was surprised. Rafael usually liked peanut butter. Now, however, he was mentioning the chocolate jam that she had always forbidden.

"Rafael, your tooth is hurting. Didn't Mom tell you not to eat chocolate?"

"But Dad and Aunt Mary allow it. They don't get angry like Mom," Rafael replied sullenly.

Just then, Mary emerged from the kitchen carrying a plate of chocolate bread and a glass of milk. She was so striking that Jason couldn't take his eyes off her.

"Young Master, here's your breakfast," she said softly, placing the tray in front of Rafael. She stroked the boy's head attentively.

"Your nutritional intake is important, so eat plenty."

"Thank you, Aunt Mary!" Rafael replied happily.

"Of course, young master. Excuse me," Mary said as she returned to the kitchen. Aunt Mary returned to the kitchen.

Stella couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. Her husband was obsessed with Mary, and her son preferred her cooking.

"That maid has taken everything away from me," Stella muttered, clenching her fists.

"Today, I'll take Rafael. You can go straight to the office, Jason," she said coldly as she stood up to go get the car keys.

"Whatever. If that's what you want," Jason replied, continuing his breakfast.

In the hallway leading to the kitchen, Stella saw Mary clearing the dishes. She approached her immediately, her face flushed with anger.

"Pack your things right now! I never want to see you in this house again!"

Mary turned her head as if surprised. But her voice remained soft.

"Madam, what do you mean? Is this a joke?"

"Don't pretend anymore! I know who you really are. Your sweet attitude is disgusting!" Stella snapped.

Mary looked sad and slowly grabbed Stella's hand, but she immediately brushed it away.

"What did I do wrong? Why did you kick me out?" Mary asked in a trembling voice.

"Don't play innocent! I've had enough. It turns out that I keep poisonous snakes in this house. Get out before I lose all control!"

Mary was silent for a moment. Then, she smiled. It was a cynical smile that made Stella's blood boil.

"So, you know everything already?" Mary said quietly but defiantly.

She stepped slowly closer to Stella and said in a dismissive voice,

"Good. Jason and I have been together for eight years. He prefers my sexy body to your fat self. To him, I'm the real wife-not you."

Chapter 2 Stolen attention

Mary's smile widened as if in victory. Meanwhile, Stella stood frozen, her body trembling with anger.

"How dare you talk to me like that?" Stella snapped, her face flushing with anger. Mary just smiled in response as if she were the winner of this game of betrayal.

"Interesting, isn't it? A maid who now controls her employer's house," Mary said with a satisfied laugh.

Stella's blood boiled. How dare a maid take the husband and children away from the woman who hired her!

"Have you no heart? Seizing what belongs to someone else?" Stella asked with emotion.

Mary leaned closer and whispered in Stella's ear, a sardonic smile still gracing her face.

"I didn't take him from you. You took Jason from me. He was my lover long before I knew you. He was only interested in your treasure, not your love."

Mary laughed softly, but her words stung like knives.

"What?!" Stella gasped, unable to believe what she was hearing. Unconsciously, her right hand flew up.

Plak!

"You bitch! Don't you dare lie to me!" she snapped, slapping Mary once more.

Mary fell silent. She rubbed her reddened cheek.

"Madam..." she said softly. The lopsided smile returned.

"Just ask your husband if you don't believe me."

Her gaze swept up and down Stella's body sarcastically.

"You should take better care of yourself. Your appearance amuses me."

Stella choked up. Mary's words hurt, but she knew there was some truth to them. She had indeed changed-too busy with work and too careless about her appearance. But was Jason really just using her?

Though her heart was broken, Stella realized she couldn't stay silent. She still has Rafael, her son, whom she loves even though he's not her own flesh and blood.

Stella was furious. She grabbed Mary by the arm and dragged her to her room.

"Pack your things right now! I never want to see you in this house again!"

Mary just chuckled. Stella opened the closet and took out Mary's clothes one by one. Suddenly, she found a hidden photo of Jason and Mary embracing and looking happy together.

"You guys...?" Stella hissed angrily as she crumpled the photo.

"Get out of this house!" she yelled as she left.

She grabbed the car keys and prepared to take Rafael to school. On the terrace, Rafael was waiting for her.

"Come on, honey. Let's go."

"Come on, Mommy."

Just as Stella was about to start the engine, Mary came out of the house carrying a large suitcase. She stood at the end of the street waiting for a taxi. Rafael looked back.

"Is that... Aunt Mary?" he murmured doubtfully.

"Yes, she's leaving and not coming back," Stella replied coldly.

But before he stepped on the gas pedal, Rafael pleaded, "Mom, I want to go out for a while."

"Mom, can I go out for a while?"

"Why, darling?"

Rafael did not answer. He opened the car door and ran toward Mary. Stella looked in the rearview mirror, taken aback by Rafael's behavior.

"Auntie, don't go!" Rafael cried, gripping Mary's hand tightly.

"I'm going to lose you."

Stella was stunned. She hadn't expected the boy to plead with the woman who had destroyed his home.

Mary stroked Rafael's head gently.

"I must go, young master. I'm not needed here anymore."

"But, Aunt"

"I'm sorry."

Mary got into the taxi. She gave Stella a lopsided smile, and then the vehicle sped off.

"Bitch!" Stella growled, clenching her fists.

Rafael ran after the taxi a little.

"Auntie, don't go!" he cried out.

"Rafael, come back!" Stella shouted frantically.

But Rafael ignored her. He stopped in the middle of the road and stared at the taxi as it drove away. Tears welled up in his eyes.

"Aunt Mary has left me," he said, sobbing.

"Rafael, come back quickly, darling!"

When he turned around, a car was speeding toward him.

"Rafael! Look out!" Stella shouted in panic.

Too late. The car slammed into his small body.

Braak!

"RAFAEEEEELLLLLLLL!" Stella shouted hysterically.

Chapter 3 Secrets revealed

Rafael's body collapsed. Stella immediately ran over, embraced his small, unconscious body, and took him to the hospital as quickly as possible. Her heart was torn apart and her chest was full of fear.

At the hospital, Rafael was diagnosed with a serious abdominal injury. The doctor said he needed immediate surgery. However, the surgery required a lot of blood, and his blood type, O+, was quite rare.

Stella sat in the waiting room with a worried expression, her hands clutching the bag on her lap.

Not long after, Jason arrived in a hurry.

"How is Rafael? Is he okay?" he asked in a worried voice.

Stella shook her head weakly.

"He has a serious abdominal wound. The doctor suggested surgery, but there's no suitable blood for him yet."

Jason let out a long breath.

"If only we knew who Rafael's biological parents were. Maybe then all this would be easier." Stella said softly.

Jason was silent, seemingly deep in thought. After walking back and forth for a moment, he pulled out his cell phone.

"I'll call some of the employees at my company. Maybe someone has the O+ blood type."

Stella just nodded and looked down again. Anxiety continued to gnaw at her heart.

Moments later, Mary arrived at the hospital. She walked quickly past Stella, managing only a quick glance and nod at Jason. Stella watched them suspiciously; their movements seemed to be a secret communication.

Mary went straight to the examination room without saying a word.

"What is that woman doing here again? Isn't she ashamed?" Stella grumbled in an annoyed tone, folding her arms in front of her chest.

Jason approached her with an awkward expression.

"Did...did you really fire her?" he asked doubtfully.

"Of course! She had the nerve to take everything I had," Stella replied sharply. Stella replied sharply, looking at Jason with disappointment.

Jason gulped.

"What exactly did she take from you?"

"She was playing with fire, but she forgot that fire can always be put out by water," Stella replied coldly.

Jason was unable to answer. He nodded slightly and went to the cafeteria.

Soon, the lights in the operating room turned on, signaling that Rafael's surgery was about to begin. Stella was surprised.

"Who donated blood for Rafael?" she whispered, confused. Curiosity and anxiety mixed together in her.

A few hours later, the operation went smoothly. Stella wanted to thank her son's blood donor. She approached the doctor.

"Doctor, may I find out who the blood donor is for my child? I would like to thank them in person."

The doctor slowly shook his head.

"I'm sorry, but the identity of the donor is confidential."

But Stella remained adamant.

"Please, doctor. Not only do I want to thank them, but I also want to give them a special award from my company. This is important."

Seeing Stella's sincerity and earnestness, the doctor finally relented and handed her a green folder. He handed her a green folder.

"All the data is here."

Stella slowly opened the folder. But as she read the contents, her hand trembled, causing the folder to fall to the floor.

Tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Mary Scott and Jason Hilton?" she murmured softly, in disbelief.

Her body went limp and her knees could barely support her.

She looked at the doctor, her face pale.

"Doctor, are they the ones who donated blood to Rafael?"

The doctor nodded.

"Yes, but Mr. Jason's blood didn't match. Mrs. Mary was a match. That's why we performed an emergency transfusion immediately."

Stella's suspicions were aroused. She remembered Mary saying that she had a relationship with Jason even before Stella came into his life.

"Doctor, can you perform a DNA test on Rafael and the two donors?"

"Of course, Miss. We'll take care of it right away."

A few hours later, the results of the DNA test came in. The doctor handed her an envelope containing the results.

With trembling hands, Stella opened the envelope. Her eyes swept over the rows of numbers and descriptions. Her heart seemed to stop beating.

"Oh God," she whispered weakly.
