Author: : Hua Luoluo
Genre: Romance
Staring at the stunningly beautiful woman in front of him, Brandon thought she would take advantage of him just like many women he had met before who asked for money and power. Instead, Daisy let out a warm, breathtaking smile. However, one thing led to another and Daisy saw a murderous look flash within Brandon's eyes. She now realized how dangerous the man she had entangled with. One step out of line could cost her her life. Fleeing for her safety, she thought this was the last time she would hear of him. But little did she know, their story has just begun.

Chapter 1 Crush

The more Brandon Gu ate, the warmer he felt. He unbuttoned his shirt and cranked up the AC, but he still felt hot and agitated. Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming from the bathroom. He then quickly stood up and checked who it was.

A woman was bathing in the bathtub. The beautiful aroma of her shampoo wafted through the air, which found its way into Brandon Gu's nose. Her sexy figure was barely visible through the water. The sight of a stranger bathing in his room struck his nerves. He was still in complete disbelief that the woman had the audacity to enter his room. Angry, he forcefully pulled her out of the bathroom.

"Who are you and why are you in my room?!" Brandon Gu dragged her, as sweat dripped off his face from the heat.

Daisy Chen remained calm as she lifted Brandon Gu's chin and put one arm around his neck. She seductively approached him with her hips swaying from side to side with every step. Finally, she put her mouth near his ear and whispered gently, "What do you think I want to do? "

Trying to be unfazed, Brandon Gu pushed her away. "Go away!"

Daisy Chen still approached him and kissed Brandon Gu with her soft, lush lips. She leaned against him tightly.

The light dimmed around her, as if she was the most dazzling star in the room. Any man would be enticed by her.

"Don't challenge me!" Brandon Gu turned his head away. He was already out of breath, resisting the urge to kiss her back.

Daisy Chen suddenly stopped. He turned back to look at her lips. It seemed there was a mysterious force from her to pull him closer to her. Brandon Gu couldn't help himself but lean in. "That's right." Seeing him coming closer and closer, she smiled.

However, the man suddenly realized that his actions were a little inappropriate, so he quickly withdrew his hand. His face was burning from both lust and embarrassment. Despite what the rumors said, he really only had been touched by no more than a few women.

Daisy Chen let out a smug smile and guided Brandon Gu's hand towards her body. ...

Her long, silk-black hair spread on the bed, and her face was full of contempt as they made love. When they stopped, Brandon Gu saw some blood spots on the white bed sheet.

"You are...!" Brandon Gu was caught off guard, not expecting this. There was a trace of hesitation and guilt on his handsome face.

Daisy Chen, who had achieved her goal, didn't find anything wrong with it. Just thinking of her sister Abby Chen's face when she heard of this, made any pain worth the price. "It doesn't matter."

"You know what? You're unlike any woman I've ever met before." Looking at the enchanting woman in front of him, Brandon Gu thought that she would pretend to be innocent and aggrieved, just like many women he had met before, who asked for position or money from him. She did intrigue him a lot.

'What is she after?' he wondered. "This is what I want."

"Well, what do you want?" Brandon Gu asked with his head leaned against the headboard of the bed.

For a second, Daisy Chen saw Brandon Gu's eyes flash with murderous intent! She could tell this man was a ruthless character. He would never allow anyone to threaten him! Fortunately, this wasn't her intention.

Thinking of this, Daisy Chen raised her beautifully arched eyebrows. She uncovered the silk quilt, got out of bed and wrapped a soft bathrobe around her delicate body. "Nothing. I just wanted to find a nice guy to spend my first time with." She reached out and placed her curly long hair in front of her chest. She then turned around and looked at the man lying on the bed with a mysterious smile etched on her red lips. "And you're exactly what I was looking for."

"Really?" Brandon Gu's gaze kept following Daisy Chen's every movement. Then, his eyes fell on the woman's rosy lips. "You're not bad either."

Hearing that, Daisy Chen just smiled and turned to the bathroom. She had to keep reminding herself that this man was very dangerous. Now that she had almost stepped out of line, she should be more careful. Otherwise, she would have no way to afford the consequence. Hearing the sound of water from the bathroom, Brandon Gu reached for his phone on the bedside table, made a call and said, "Check today's CCTV of the hotel and give me the information about this woman tomorrow."

Then he lifted the quilt, got out of bed and walked to the bathroom on the other side.

When Daisy Chen came out and saw the empty and messy bed, she couldn't help but curl her lips. She rubbed her hair with a towel with one hand, and took the phone on the tea table with the other. She walked towards the window to see the sea of lights outside the hotel. The city was buzzing with life but she couldn't help but feel lonely.

She took a look at her phone and found that there was only one missed call from Jean Yi. Daisy Chen looked out of the window and suddenly smiled. It was cold and ironic.

The city was so big and full of various people, but none of them had anything to do with one another. She was born and raised here, living in the city for more than twenty years. Suddenly, she felt cold and tightened her robe.

Then she turned around, about to put on her clothes and leave. She was thinking of going to Jean Yi's place for a bowl of noodles, but when she turned around, she saw Brandon Gu standing there, his hair still dripping wet. The chandelier overhead shone on his glistening skin, with the ancient shelf behind him, making him feel lonely and unreal.

When Daisy Chen realized what she was thinking, she couldn't help but despise herself. 'How could a man like him be lonely?'

"I thought you had already left. Whatever! I'm leaving now." Daisy Chen put away the phone on her hand and looked at the man in front of her.

He was leaning against the shelf behind him, which made him even more attractive. An indescribable aura was around him.

She just smiled at him, picked up her clothes on the ground, walked inside and changed. During this time, the man didn't say anything. He just sat on the living room sofa.

Seeing Daisy Chen come out, he threw his business card on the tea table in front of him. "You are good, and I'm very satisfied."

When she heard his words, she couldn't help but laugh in anger. She raised her sexy red lips and smiled generously, staring at the eyes of the man in front of her. His eyes were deep and yet was so emotionless.

After staring at each other for a while, she raised her eyebrows, took a few bills from her bag on the sofa, and put it on the tea table in front of Brandon Gu. "You still have room for improvement. Next time you're in a good mood, I will take care of your business." Then she put the business card into her bag without looking at it and left.

Looking at the money in front of him, Brandon Gu smiled meaningfully. 'We will see each other soon.' His eyes darkened.

Chapter 2 Birthday Celebration

"Jean, you're the best." Seeing her friend from across the table cook long-life noodles just for her made Daisy smile from ear to ear.

"I wouldn't have gone back to the kitchen if it weren't for your birthday!" Without looking back, Jean could sense her friend's bright smile.

Every year, Daisy always asked Jean to cook a bowl of long-life noodles for her birthday. Daisy wouldn't even bother touching her birthday cake. Jean remembered the first bowl of noodles she made. The food was so atrocious that she threw up when she tasted it, but Daisy gladly finished the whole serving with a smile. Since then, she knew her friend was one of a kind, and she never let go of Daisy.

"Here you go. Your noodles." Jean put the bowl in front of her friend and sat on the opposite side of the table. In the past two years, she hadn't improved on anything else but her cooking skills became superb.

"Thank you, mwah!" Daisy pouted her lips and blew a kiss to her friend. "Here I go!" She quickly tied her hair into a ponytail and began to eat the noodles. "Jean, you're getting better at cooking," Daisy flirtingly said to her friend while eating. "Do you remember the first noodles you made for me? Oh my god, I will never forget how that tasted!"

Going along with her friend's teasing, Jean pretended to be angry and tried to grab the bowl in front of Daisy. "You don't like it, do you? Then don't eat it!"

"I'm sorry, I was just kidding!" Daisy quickly grabbed the bowl with her hands. "Today is my birthday, so you can't do that to me."

"Humph! For God's sake, you're already 22 and you're still playing that card." Jean rolled her eyes. "But to be serious." Jean fixed her eyes on her friend.

"Are you going to be engaged? If I remember correctly, your family and the Han family are going to set an engagement for you when you turn 22, am I right?" Thinking of the news she heard from her brother, Jean looked at her friend with concern.

"I've heard that your fiance, Alex Han, is not a good man!" But Daisy just kept eating her noodles without raising her head. "Hey, did you hear me?" Jean tried to get her attention. Still, no response. Jean didn't like it whenever Daisy shut her out. Annoyed, she pushed her friend's arm.

Daisy jerked in surprise, which made her choke on the chili sauce. Tears instantly welled up as her face flushed.

"What is wrong with you? Are you trying to kill me?" When she finally caught her breath, Daisy finally looked up to her friend.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. I'm just worried about you." Jean took out a tissue and handed it to Daisy, and then poured a glass of water for her. The sight of her friend sitting on the other side of the table made her sigh.

She knew more or less about the situation of her friend's family. Daisy lost her mother at an early age, and her father remarried less than a year after her mother's untimely death. Now she had a half-sister and a stepmother who despised her. Her father was known in the business circle to be greedy and cunning. Wanting more money in the future, her father allied with the Han family in a bidding for a developed land.

He reaped the benefits at Daisy's expense. Almost everyone knew that Alex Han was a playboy who indulged himself by wasting an extravagant amount of money and sleeping with women left to right.

Besides, the Han family was just a small family on the rise. Mr. Han had accumulated some connections in the past. He had a silver tongue and a charming personality, which he used to slowly build up his network. But when Jean mentioned the Han family to her brother, his face was filled with disdain. For him, they were nothing but some upstarts.

"I know, but no matter how much you worried, you can't change the very fact. Nothing can stop the marriage." Daisy took the water from her friend and took a sip. Her long and thick eyelashes covered the gleam in her eyes.

The Chen family had been hiding a financial crisis for some time now. But it had nothing to do with Daisy. She renounced any connections she had to her family three years ago. Now, Daisy's father wanted to use her for money, but first he needed her permission.

"Then what do you think? Are you going to accept this arrangement?" Jean held Daisy's hand anxiously. "Your family is unfair. You and Abby are both daughters of the Chen family. Why isn't she the one who's going to marry the Han family?" Speaking of this, Jean felt sorry for her friend.

Seeing how concerned her friend is for her, Daisy stopped pretending to not care. A warm feeling bottled up inside of her as she thought, 'It is so good to have Jean by my side.'

She patted her friend's hand and comforted, "It's okay. If it weren't Alex Han, there would be someone else." Daisy's thought unwillingly wandered off again as she looked at her nails and thought about going to a manicure shop.

"At least, compared to others, Alex Han won't interfere in my life. We can both live our own life." Then, out of nowhere, Daisy turned to look at her friend with rare seriousness in her eyes.

"Besides, Abby couldn't escape this fate either. The Chen family is going to arrange a marriage between her and Mike Qi." Daisy was on the verge of tears when she spoke of this. Sure enough, the biggest difference between having a mother and not was that Abby was free to find a rich, gentle man to marry. Daisy, on the other hand, didn't have this luxury.

"What about falling in love with a person who equally loves you back? A person who you're happy to marry and have children with." Jean couldn't help but feel sorry for her friend.

"I've never thought that. I'd rather be alone than be with someone." Daisy smiled, picked up a grape from the fruit plate and put it into her mouth, acting as if everything was well.

"Plus, it's very good being single. You can do whatever you want, whenever you want it with no one holding you back," Daisy said as she raised a snicker and quickly touched her friend's face with her right hand. "You're more than enough for me."

"Daisy! I'm serious!" Jean blushed and stood up in an instant.

Seeing her red face and watery eyes. Daisy raised her hand and touched Jean's chin. 'Jean is getting more and more beautiful,' she thought.

"Okay, be serious." Daisy straightened up. "There is a way, but our time will be very limited, making it next to impossible."

"How? Tell me so I can help you." As Jean heard this, her eyes lit up at Daisy with complete eagerness and attention.

Daisy was really touched by her friend's concern. No one had cared about her feelings ever since her mother died. She forgot how good it felt having someone care for her.

"Find someone richer and more powerful than Alex Han and Mike Qi," Daisy sneered, raising her lips. No matter who she ended up marrying, Daisy would just be a commodity. She never had the initiative.

Chapter 3 Home

"There are lots of men who are much better than Alex! But I will admit only a handful can stand up to Mike," Jean said, scratching her head. She quickly recalled all the single men she knew in the business circle.

"Brandon Gu, Larry Long..." Daisy shook her head with a smile as she heard her friends' calling those names one by one.

"What's wrong? Don't you like them?" Jean anxiously asked. "No, I'm sure they are all very good people.

Surely anyone will fall for them. But how could they like someone like me?" Daisy was more than thankful for her friend's concern, but she seriously doubted if any of these men would like her back.

"Come on, Daisy! Don't say that. You're more than enough for these men." Jean tried to lift her friend's confidence.

Growing up in such a complicated family made Daisy the strong woman she was today. Plus, Daisy was one of the most beautiful woman she knew. Jean couldn't help but gaze at her friend's stunning physique at the thought of this. Her delicate features, sexy figure, and the aura she gave off was enough to make every man fall head over heels for her.

After much thought, Jean narrowed down the list of men down to two, Brandon Gu and Larry Long. Only Brandon Gu knew how to properly hold a woman like Daisy.

"Daisy, I think Brandon suits you very well!" Jean became excited at the thought of this. She sprang up and sat next to Daisy, holding her arm in excitement.

"Look, the Gu family is a well-known old money in the business circle. How could the Han family be not a patch on them? Plus, he's just so handsome. Everywhere he goes, people are swooning over him. He also doesn't just rely on his family's money like most of the young, rich men out there. Alex is a loser compared to him!"

"Hhmm, you're right." Seeing her friend in high spirit, Daisy couldn't help but laugh.

"Well, that's all for today. I have to go back." Daisy stood up, picked up her bag on the sofa and said goodbye to her friend.

"What? You're leaving now? But I'm still not finished!" Jean pouted as she followed Daisy to the door.

"Oh, stop it! We're not in a hurry." Seeing that her friend still wanted to say something, Daisy added, "Besides, you have to help me think of a plan on how to get close to Brandon."

"Well, that's right. We should make a good plan." After for a while, Jean thought what Daisy had said was reasonable. "Well, go back early. Be careful and drive safe."

Daisy waved her friend goodbye and got in the car. "Thank you for your noodles, Jean."

For some reason, Jean felt the loneliness in her friend's words. "You're welcome. See you." Jean waved back as she watched the car slowly disappear in the urban jungle.

Daisy opened the car windows and the cold evening wind blew inside her car. She let out a shaky breath as she let the sadness in her heart be carried by the wind.

Anxiety had nothing helpful for her current plight. She'd better get those thoughts out of her system. Everything would be fine in the end, wouldn't it?

In a trance, the car had entered the community. Looking at the brightly lit villa in front of her, Daisy felt her good mood suddenly shift. She didn't want to see anyone in the house.

After parking the car in the yard, Daisy walked into the living room with her bag on her left hand and the key ring on the other.

"Oh, you're back," a shrill voice from behind said.

"What are you talking about? It's your sister's birthday. Go to the fridge and bring the cake." A gentle voice came from the stairs in front of them.

Without looking up, Daisy could imagine Tracy Dong putting on the facade of a gentle, loving mother.

She raised her head to look at the direction of the voice. As expected, Tracy Dong was wearing a well-cut white dress, and her arm was gently placed in the crook of Bill Chen's arm.

Daisy shifted her gaze toward Bill Chen. A man in his late fifties with small, slanted eyes, which never failed to intimidate people. He was her father.

Daisy's mouth twitched at the thought of this. She had never received any love or affection from her father. And now, he was using her for business.

"Why do you come back so late? Your mother and your sister have been waiting for you for hours." Arm in arm with Tracy Dong, Bill Chen went downstairs and sat on the living room sofa, full of dissatisfaction.

"Oh, don't worry. The youth are always out and about hanging with their friends and complete strangers. It's not a big deal," Tracy Dong said gently. She seemed to be trying to ease the situation, but in fact she only added fuel to the fire.

Sure enough, Bill Chen's face darkened. "Humph, the whole family was waiting for you for hours to celebrate you birthday. But you didn't even think of coming home early."

"Dad, Daisy just went out for some relaxation." Abby walked towards the sofa with the cake in her hand. She provoked her father even more.

"What relaxation? Is our family stressing her out?!" Bill Chen's anger was being fed more and more by Daisy's stepmother and sister.

"Daisy's going to be engaged, but she just doesn't want to be married to the Han family." Abby cast a glance at Daisy to relish the expression on her face.

"Daisy, if you are not satisfied with the marriage, just tell us. Although our family is not in a good condition now, we are willing to listen to you." Frowning slightly, Tracy Dong walked to Daisy and held her arm.

Daisy frowned and looked at her hand held by Tracy Dong. She took her hand back when she smoothed her hair.

Seeing that they had been acting as if all was well between them for so long, Daisy had enough and felt it was time to call it quits.

"I know Dad made that decision for my good. Of course, I have no objection to the engagement. As for the cake, sorry but I'm too full tonight. I feel sick just by looking at it. You can enjoy it by yourselves though."

The smile on Tracy Dong's face deepened when she heard the first half of Daisy's words. 'You gave your consent to this marriage. So you'd better not regret it,' she thought.

However, hearing Daisy say that she felt sick when she saw the cake made Tracy Dong feel embarrassed. She was shocked for a while before regaining her composure. Tracy Dong let out a smile and said, "Then give it to Jim. Your father and I don't like sweets and your sister wants to lose weight."

Jim, a husky, was the family dog.

"Then I'll go to bed first." Then she turned around and went upstairs to the second floor. Leaving the three people downstairs, they could do whatever they wanted for all she cared. Out of sight, out of mind.
