Lying on the bed, Joanna Bennett felt hot and uncomfortable.
While she was in drowsiness, someone with a pungent smell of wine pressed down.
"Who are you? Let go of me!"
Her big pretty eyes were full of horror, and she tightly squeezed the bedsheet. Before she could say more, the man laughed emotionlessly.
"You..."
The man's hand fell on her lips. His cold fingertips somehow brought her a burning sensation instantly.
A horrible feeling rose in her. Before she could speak, the man's hoarse and emotionless voice came over.
"You want to be my woman so badly?"
In the heat, Joanna trembled and suddenly came to her senses.
"No... you misunderstood... I'm already engaged..."
By the last bit of her sense, Joanna overcame the dizziness and quickly turned over.
She was petite and so agile that she got out of the man's arms, got off the bed, and took to heels.
But then she felt a grip on her hand. The man threw her back to the bed like a cargo.
He stared coldly at her with gloomy eyes. The corner of his thin lips curved up in a contemptuous smile.
The room was so dark that Joanna couldn't see his face clearly. Even so, she raised her hand to show the man her engagement ring.
...
The darkness in the room engulfed the dim light of the diamond ring.
Along with it, its owner was also engulfed.
...
When Joanna woke up, it was already the next evening.
She felt pain all over as if a truck hit her, and her brows furrowed.
When a knock came from the door, Joanna didn't have time to think about her situation and covered herself up quickly.
In a short while, a waitress came into the bedroom with an exquisite and delicious meal. A standard smile was on her face.
"Please enjoy your dinner."
The waitress put the meal down and turned to leave.
"Wait!" Joanna called out.
As soon as she uttered a sound, she felt a burning pain in her throat. Her voice was as hoarse as that when a piece of abrasive paper scratched against the table.
Her pale face instantly flushed.
Joanna grasped the quilt and wished that she could vanish into thin air.
"What else can I help you?"
"May I ask... if you have any clothes here?" Joanna blushed.
The room should have been cleaned up. Last night... her clothes were torn up by that man.
Scum!
"Yes, a moment please."
After the waitress left, Joanna walked along the wall on her trembling legs to the bathroom to wash up.
Half an hour later, the sound of running water was mixed with the cry of the girl in the bathroom. It was low sobs in the beginning and then a bitter wail.
An hour later, Joanna came out of the bathroom in a bathrobe, her eyes red.
After the wail, she managed to calm down and sit down to eat.
She couldn't blame the world. Now that it came to this, her engagement with Lukas Jensen also came to an end.
She made up her mind to see Kane Jensen and asked the old man to make the call and break off the engagement.
She reflexed on what happened yesterday after she checked in the hotel before realizing that the incident started from a cup of water given by the front desk staff.
As for the identity of the culprit, she had no clue.
But there was no hurry since the fire couldn't be wrapped up in the paper. She would find it out and get her revenge!
After some time, the door was knocked on again, and in came the waitress before she could get the door.
Joanna felt strange but didn't think much about it as leaving the place was her priority.
"Miss, here are the clothes for you."
There were two large bags of various clothes. Joanna looked at her in confusion and then thanked her politely.
"My pleasure."
But when she checked the clothes, she thought it was her illusion.
When she picked up a pink tulle dress on top, the corner of her lips twitched. Even a mosquito net was thicker than this.
She tossed it away and picked up a black lace slip dress. Its hem could barely cover her hip, and the neckline was very low.
With a sullen face, Joanna poured all the clothes out of the bags.
She was struck dumb by the scene.
They were either gauze lace or bunny girl outfit...
What the hell was this?
As blood surged to her head, Joanna turned around and went to dial the landline phone.
Beep...
The phone didn't work, and she went to look for her cell phone.
She looked around but failed to find it. In her anger, she went to open the door in just a bathrobe.
She pulled at it but could not open it.
She pulled again, but the door didn't even budge.
What was going on?
Broken?
No! Could it be locked?
A horrible feeling rose in her!
Her heart was pounding and her face was turning pale.
Those obscene clothes crossed her mind, and her pale cheeks turned rosy. Blood was surging in her.
"Hello?"
"Open the door!"
"Anyone there? The room door is broken. I'm locked inside!"
...
Joanna shouted till her throat burned. In the end, she could barely utter any sound, but there was no response at all.
She hadn't expected the man should be so unscrupulous that he locked her in here!
It was getting dark. Joanna ran around the entire suite but found no sharp objects, nor did she figure out a way to call for help.
The city was slowly lit up. Collecting herself, Joanna rushed to the living room and picked up a kettle.
In her view, if she broke the window, people outside would be alarmed.
Before smashing it, Joanna examined the condition outside. There was a terrace for the air-conditioner, so even if the window shattered, no people down the building were supposed to be hit.
Bang!
Bang!
...
The kettle was out of shape, but there wasn't even a crack in the window.
Joanna cursed inwardly and ground her teeth.
Bitchy man!
Joanna loosened her hand, thus dropping the kettle on the thick carpet.
Seeing no way out, she gave up.
Even if it was the Grand Court Hotel, should they use such fine window glass?
The more she thought about it, the stranger and more upset she felt.
On second thought, she believed that she should not be afraid.
Because she was drugged yesterday, and today...
Humph, she would show her prowess!
Joanna curled up her lips coldly, went out to the living room, and sat on the sofa.
The room was pitch-dark. Only the moonlight slanted in and landed on the floor.
She didn't turn on the light as she planned to beat the bitchy man up in the dark.
After some time, Joanna's nerves were strained, and she felt drowsy. Following a click, the door opened.
As the moment came, Joanna rushed over like a cannonball.
If Joanna was not drugged as to overlook the man's aura, she definitely would not dare to do this.
But there were no ifs.
The light at the doorway was dim, and the man came in with the light. Therefore, she couldn't see his face clearly.
When Joanna rushed over, she didn't notice that all the curtains in the room slowly closed after the man got in.
Joanna reached the man's side and kicked at him.
She found the right position and direction but underestimated the strength of her opponent.
She didn't know what went wrong but missed the target several times. Then she felt dizzy, fell heavily on the king-size bed, and saw stars.
Feeling a weight on her, Joanna really regretted her action.
"This is a misunderstanding! Let me go... we can talk about it!"
Rustles of undressing were the only reply.
Joanna's nerves were taut, and she took in several deep breaths.
"Hey, it was my fault to hit you, but you did something terrible first yesterday. How about we call it even? Take it as..."
The man's deep and hoarse voice reverberated in the dark room.
"Go take a shower!"
Joanna was stunned...
Damn!
Without waiting for her reply, the man suddenly clasped her hands and ruthlessly threw her into the bathroom despite her struggle.
As the shower was turned on and hot water came down, she couldn't see things clearly but still felt the awful air about the man and shivered in fear.
As her body was pressed against the cold wall, unprecedented fear got the better of her.
She softened her tone and explained hurriedly.
"This is a misunderstanding. I'm not that kind of woman!"
"Heh!"
His voice was hoarse, scornful, scary, and dangerous.
"So what?"
As soon as the man finished his words, Joanna who had been on guard lifted her foot almost instantly. However, the man was faster and subdued her in the blink of an eye.
"You ask for it!"
In the dark, the man clasped her hands and drew close without saying another word.
Joanna was exhausted and fainted several times that night.
...
"Aw..."
As soon as Joanna turned over the next day, her body felt sore and weak. She quickly sat up and gnashed her teeth.
Soon, the same waitress pushed a food cart to her, "Miss, you're awake. Here is your meal."
Joanna smiled sweetly and gaped behind her in surprise.
"Ah, what's that?"
The waitress looked back curiously. Naked, Joanna went all out and struck her neck with a chopping move.
With a thud, the waitress fell in a faint.
At her fastest speed, Joanna undressed the waitress, tied up her limbs with towels, fumbled through her body, found 100 yuan, and got out of the room without looking back.
