Hi. I'm Paris William Schuester. Yes I'm Mr. William Schuester daughter. The only one daughter he has and apparently the only girl in his life. Yes my parents are divorced since dad found out my mom was faking a pregnancy and dad was having an affair with Miss Pillsbury. Don't ask me how much I hate Miss Pillsbury.
I'm a junior in William McKinley High School. I'm also in glee club. Obviously because I'm as talented as my dad. I can play several music instrumental that most of the kids in Glee club can't.
I'm living with my dad since he got full custody of me. We're living in a house with three bedrooms and two and a half bathroom, kitchen, living room, family room, two floors, and basketball ring on the front yard. Not big, and I know that I'm not coming from a rich family but I'm glad with what I have now.
Not big, and I know that I'm not coming from a rich family but I'm glad with what I have now
By the way, I'm single
By the way, I'm single. I never been in love before. Not because I don't trust love but I haven't find the right guy who can understand me like the way my dad did.
"I don't understand why my dad wanted me to be a third wheeling of you two." I simply said and turn my face to the street.
"Because you are Glee club director daughter?" Finn frown.
Now I'm on the way to Kentucky to pick up Sam Evans and convince him that he will back to Ohio and join us for regionals because we are under the guns. Really under the guns.
"What if his parents doesn't let him back?" I ask them.
"At least we tried." Finn simply said.
"No, we have to get him okay." Rachel shakes her head.
Finn parks his car in front of a pub or something. I frown and walk out from the car. I look around and there are a lot of old ladies come and go into that place.
Three of us then walk into that place and look around. "Wait. This is Dairy Queen?" I frown.
"This can't be the right place. Sam works in a bar?" Finn frowns.
"Well, there just aren't a lot of theaters in Northern Kentucky, so theatre groups just have to perform in whatever space they can find." Rachel says to us.
"There's a lot of ladies here like, older ladies." Finn says to us.
"Finn, it's no secret that dinner theater appeals to elderly women." Rachel simply said.
"I think something is wrong here." I frown and look around until I put my eyes on the stage.
"Good afternoon, ladies! Are you ready to meet the men of Stallionz? Then please welcome to the stage, Cobra!"
"I didn't know Backdraft was a musical." Finn chuckles.
"No, that's stripper!" I frown.
"Someone get the door, 'cause here comes Mr. Package."
"Oh, God, no." Rachel shakes her head.
"And ladies, let's give a warm welcome to White Chocolate!"
I gasped as I see Sam walks to that stage. He strips off his clothes and start stripping. So this is what he does?
"That's not an image I can ever get out of my mind." Finn shakes his head.
"Give me a dollar." Rachel simply said.
"What?" Finn frown.
"Just give me a dollar." Rachel says to Finn.
Finn gives her a dollar and Rachel start walking closer to that stage. "Is it only me but he is kinda sort of hot huh?" I raise my eyebrows.
"I never imagine this before." Finn simply said.
The song is finally stop. Rachel gives us a sign to walk follow her. I put my hands into my jacket pocket and walk follow Rachel with Finn until she brings us to a dressing room.
"So this is what you do?" I ask Sam as he is getting dressed.
"I tried getting a real job. DQ was great and I got two free Blizzards a day, but it paid just overminimum wage." Sam says to us. "You know how much I made this afternoon? $61 in 15 minutes." Sam grins. "Am I ashamed I work here? Yeah, I'm ashamed. My dad got a job working construction to pay the rent, but when my brother needs a new pair of shoes or the TV busts, these abs pay for it." Sam says to us.
"Your parents don't know that you work here?" Finn asks.
"No, they just think the DQ pays really well. I'm good at this." Sam chuckles.
"You're good at it because you have that a boy-next-door innocence that makes you approachable, okay? You're good at it for all the reasons that you shouldn't be doing it." Rachel says to him.
"Come back to McKinley, Sam. We need you for Sectionals. Tell me you don't want it. Dude, you're young, you got so much potential. Working here is, like, throwing your life away." Finn says to him.
"Okay, I want it but my dad will never let me." Sam half smiled.
"Don't know till you ask." Finn smiles at him.
"Besides if your dad is Quinn Fabray's dad maybe he wouldn't let you. But if your dad is just like my dad, he will." I smile at him.
"Alright, we can come to my house and we can ask their permission." Sam nods.
"Good. I can't be around this place much longer." I simply said and walk out from the dressing room.
I walk out from that pub and finally feel the fresh air. "My house is only couple blocks away from here." Sam says to us.
"Just tell us where is it." Finn says to him and get into the car.
I get into the car and take my phone out from my sling bag. "So is that a pub, restaurant, or club?" I ask Sam.
"Three of them." Sam simply said. "Hold on, if I'm go back to Ohio, where am I going to live?" Sam asks us.
"You're going to live with me. That's why my dad sent me to third wheeling today because he thought that by sending me could help to convince your parents. Don't worry, there is another empty room in my house and you can use it." I said to him.
"Why you guys really need me?" Sam frowns.
"Santana, Brittany, and Mercedes left Nee Directions and joined a formed girl choir that Miss Corcoran built. Then Rachel got suspended and we really under the gun." I said to him. "And I just found out that Miss Corcoran ever made out with my dad." I frown.
"Okay that's gross." Rachel shakes her head.
"That's my house." Sam says to Finn.
Finn parks his car and we then walk out from his car. I look around and Sam walks lead us while opening the little gate.
We then walk into the house and his parents are in the kitchen. Sam walks lead us. We are smiling at them and shake their hands.
"Mom, dad, they're my friends from Ohio. They came here to see me." Sam says to them.
"Oh alright." Mrs. Evans smiles at us.
"Dad, Mom, what I'm trying to say is I want to go back to Ohio with them. They need me to compete at Sectionals this weekend." Sam says to them.
"And he could stay at mine. My dad is Glee club director and we are really under the gun. My dad is a teacher and you don't have to worry about food and all, so it wouldn't be like he was homeless. Not that there isn't a quiet dignity in that or anything." I half smiled at them.
"You think you guys could go in the other room, make yourselves busy, please?" Mr. Evans says to us.
"Oh right. I'm really good at making myself busy." Finn giggles.
I roll my eyes and walk away. "I can't believe I said that." I said quietly at them.
"No, it's okay. Just calm down." Rachel says to me.
I nod and sit down on the couch. I bite my bottom lip and hope that Sam's parents will let us take him to Ohio so we all can have perform at sectionals.
~~
"I hope you don't mind because this room isn't that big." I said to Sam.
"No, it's okay. It's I can't thank you and Mr. Schue enough for let me staying here with you both." Sam smiles at me.
"It's okay, Sam. We are a family." Dad smiles at him.
"Alright, this chicken is ready. Dad, help me." I said to dad.
Dad gets up and take the hand gloves then take out the chicken from the oven and put it on the dining table. I take a fork and knife then start cutting it.
"Look since I'm living here, just tell me what should I do okay. Like cleaning do laundry and all." Sam says to us.
"My job is cooking. Dad's job is cleaning so you can do laundry." I grin at him.
"Honey.." Dad rolls his eyes.
"What? He asked, daddy." I roll my eyes.
"No, it's okay I'll do it." Sam smiles at us.
"Good." I grin at him.
"Okay now let's have dinner." Dad smiles at us.
Suddenly the house phone is ringing. I walk to the living room and pick up the call. "Hello?"
"Hey, sweetie. Listen I can't take you to dentist appointment on Friday so can your dad take you? If he can't, I will change the appointment." Mom says over the phone.
"Dad, can you take me to the dentist on Friday?" I turn my face at dad.
"Sure, pumpkin." Dad nods.
"Dad said that he can. So you don't have to change the appointment." I said to the phone.
"Alright, sweetheart I'll see you on Saturday. I love you."
"I love you too, mom." I said and hung up the call. I walk to the dining table and start eating my dinner.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm walking down in the hallways along with dad, Finn, and I. Bring some cups and sparkling cider for everyone in the choir room.
"Hey, great news, everybody. Sectionals is going to be a challenge, but we have a..." Dad and I walk in and put those cups on the piano.
"Mr. Schue, we all appreciate your endless supply of affirmations, but all the sparkling cider in the world can't deny the fact that the Titanic has hit the iceberg and now we're on a sinking ship." Kurt says to dad.
"Not if I can help it." Sam walks in and smiles at them. They start cheering and hugging him one by one. "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Finn and Rachel. Also Mr. Schue and Paris who let me staying with them. I sort of lost my way, but true friends help you find your way back." Sam smiles at us.
"Let's hear it for Sam Evans!" Finn cheerings.
"All right, enough of the sentimental stuff. It's time y'all get a little country back in this joint!" Sam smiles at us.
"Alright everyone we've got not long time to celebrate but we have competition in front of us." Dad says to us.
"Have you plan the setlist yet? Because I didn't see you struggling with music sheet at home." I frown at dad.
"No. Not yet. I'm a bit lost of track." Dad sighs.
"Maybe we should start singing theater songs." Blaine says to us.
"No no no. The Troubletones are bunch of girls. You know we might lose the feminity but we have a thing to against feminity which is masculinity. Masculinity is a way to present an epic anthem. They can have Whitney Houston, Britney Spears, or Amy Winehouse but those are most girls loves. Meanwhile we can perform something that everyone loves." I grin at them.
"What about..." Dad says and rubs his chin.
"No, I'm not talking about Journey, dad. What I'm talking about is Jacksons! Everyone loves The Jacksons family. No matter how old, young, gay, straight, girls, or guys, they love The Jacksons. It's just like how everyone loves The Beatles." I smile at them.
"How come you came up with that?" Dad chuckles.
"Well, you never want to listen to me." I roll my eyes.
"Alright everyone let's do this!" Dad grins at them as everyone start cheering.
I'm sitting down on my hanging chair while reading a comic book. Orly, my white yorkshire terrier puppy is just laying down on my bed. It's just a typical Tuesday night.
I turn my face to the window and see that guy the house opposite of mine is sitting down by window seat and reading something
I turn my face to the window and see that guy the house opposite of mine is sitting down by window seat and reading something. I know this is like Taylor Swift music video or Paper Towns movie but I've been watching that guy since I was little. He is not a student at McKinley and I never talk to him but he is kinda cute.
"Hey.."
I turn my face and Sam is standing by my door. "Come on in." I said to him.
Sam walks in and sits down on my bed and rubbing Orly. He turns his face to the window. "That is a cute guy. Not to sounds gay but he is." Sam says.
"Yeah and I didn't even know where he goes to school. I never talk to him just starring at him." I said to Sam. "What's up? Are you hungry or something?"
"Nope. I'm just bored and need someone to talk." Sam simply said.
"Oh yeah dad has to work late at school." I said to him.
"I can't thank you enough for letting me stay here." Sam says to me.
"That's alright. I'm a kid from divorced parents and I need to talk with real people not only dog." I chuckle.
"What you said today in choir room was brilliant. How come to came up with that?" Sam chuckles.
"Well, dad never want to listen to me when it comes to the glee club." I said to him.
"I know that Mr. Schue helped me with school application and afford my food here but I need a job to pay my own stuff." Sam says while having Orly on his lap.
"Why don't you come with me tomorrow after school? We can go to Sheet N Things. My mom is a store manager there and I'm sure she could give you a part time job there." I smile at Sam.
"That would be great!" Sam giggles. "By the way, that chair makes me sleepy."
"Wanna try?" I chuckle.
"Sure!" Sam nods.
I chuckle and stand up. But my foot suddenly caught up in the middle of rattan of this hanging chair as I want to jump off. Sam grabs me and we both falling down to the bed with me on top of him.
We both start looking at each other as he is holding my arms. I don't know why my heart beats so fast right now. He has beautiful green eyes. And he is sort of hot. But what am I talking about? No.
I'm sitting down on a pack of linens and playing with my fingers while mom is looking at Sam from head to toe. "You want me to hire him to work here?" Mom turns her face at me.
"Yeah. He lives with me and dad. His family is in Kentucky and he was homeless." I nod at her. Mom sighs and start walking away. I frown and give a sign to Sam and walk following her. "Mom, please just let him have part time work. You can pay him as much as working hours he does." I said to her.
"Alright $9 per hour." Mom nods.
"Yay thank you so much!" I smile at her and hug her.
"You seems have a crush on this guy." Mom chuckles.
"No, I didn't I'm just being nice. Okay I will tell him that he can start work here from tomorrow." I smile at mom and walk to Sam. "You got the job. $9 per hour and you can work part time which is your salary will be count on how much you're work." I said to Sam.
"Yay!" Sam chuckles and hugs me.
I giggle and hug him back until we pull each other away awkwardly. I giggle and flip my hair back to my earlobe and take my bag. I walk out from Sheets N Things then put my hands inside my jeans pocket.
I'm a country girl who just love wearing simple clothes like jeans, converse, and long sleeve shirt with a bag on my back.
"So where should we go now?" Sam asks me.
"Supermarket. I need to do groceries." I said to him and walk to my car.
I get into my car and put my bag on the backseat. As Sam gets in, I start to drive away to the grocery to buy food stocks and all. Since dad always wrong to buy some groceries so I did it now.
"You did all those housewife thing?" Sam asks me.
"Since my parents divorced? Yes." I nod. "I do the housewife thing like do groceries, clean the house, and cook dinner and breakfast."
"It suck isn't it?"
"Yeah it is but it's better than hearing them yelling at each other everyday. I mean every kids want their parents to be together but if fighting everyday is what happening so I'd say no." I shake my head.
"Yeah sometimes the best choice is let go than hurting yourself." Sam nods.
"What about you? You know that Mercedes is having a new boyfriend and he got a football scholarship at Ohio State?" I turn my face at Sam.
"Well, I'm moving on. He can have her. I'm not gonna die just because I'm single right?" Sam chuckles.
"You're gonna die if you push yourself off of the cliff." I laugh and park my car.
"I know that guy you usually stalk name." Sam simply said as we walk out from the car.
"Who?!" I raise my eyebrows.
"Cole. But he has a girlfriend and he is actually went to East Coast High School." Sam says to me.
"You asked him if he has a girlfriend?" I frown at Sam.
"I asked him for his phone number." Sam says innocently.
"He probably think that you are gay." I frown and take a cart. "How come you talk to him anyway?"
"Oh last night, I was taking out the trash to the garbage. Then I saw him walk out from his car. So I came over and introduce myself and all. He thought that I'm your big brother so I told him that I'm your friend." Sam says to me.
"Yeah well, being single won't make me die." I chuckle and start pushing my cart.
"Are you really never ever have date anyone before?" Sam asks me.
"Never. I'm just enjoying being teenage girl besides I can't date guys from McKinley. My dad knows them." I said to him and take some cereals.
"Can I get this?" Sam grins at me and take cornflakes cereals.
"Fine!" I roll my eyes. "It's like me and my dad are adopting you." I chuckle.
"Yeah like that." Sam chuckles.
I look around and keep pushing the cart to buy some food stocks and other things. Being the only one child from a divorce parents is suck but there is nothing I can do instead of letting them separate.
~~
"No! More thin." I said to Sam.
"Like this?" Sam asks as he keep rolling the cookie dough using rolling pin.
"A bit more or the cookies won't be crunchy." I said to him.
"Exchange, I will boil the chocolate." Sam sighs.
"You can't boil the chocolate directly to the pan." I roll my eyes.
"Then how?" Sam asks me.
I walk to the stove and take a boiling pan. I fill it with water and then boiling it. "Give me that transparent bowl." I said to Sam. Sam walks to me and give me that bowl. I take the chocolate bar and frown as there is a piece cut from this chocolate. "Sam?" I turn my face at Sam.
"Who doesn't love chocolate?" Sam giggles and grin at me showing his teeth that covered with chocolate.
"Your teeth is full with chocolate." I laugh.
Sam cover up his mouth and walk to the sink. I chuckle and put the transparent bowl on the water with the chocolate bar in it.
I turn off the stove and stir the chocolate using the wooden spatula. The chocolate smells seems so delicious. I can't wait to eat it soon.
"Now you cut the cookies using those cookies cutter and put it into the oven." I said to Sam.
"I can't do that." Sam says to me.
"Okay you keep stirring this chocolate and I'm gonna put the cake into the oven." I said to him.
I walk to the counter and cut the cookie dough using cookies cutter. I put it on the pan then put it into the oven. After that I walk to Sam who secretly licking the chocolate using his fingers. I slap his hand and take the transparent bowl. I continue stir the chocolate so it won't dry quickly.
"My stomach is craving." Sam says to me.
"I know. Me too." I chuckle.
The oven is ringing. I take my hand gloves and take the cookies from the oven and put the pan on the counter.
"Now the smells makes my stomach like pinching me from inside." Sam says to me.
I chuckle and take the cookies then dip half of the cookies into the chocolate. After that I put those back into the pan.
"Now your job is pouring the sugar and sprinkles." I said to Sam. "Using the strainer for the sugar so it won't be too much."
Sam takes the strainer and put sugar on it as he start pouring the sugar on the cookies. He then sneezing loudly until all the sugar on the strainer spurts all over his face and his clothes. I can't help it and laugh out loud because he looks like a white chocolate cookies.
"What are you laughing at huh?" Sam raises his eyebrows at me and put the chocolate all over my face.
"Sam!" I pout at him.
"Little bit sprinkles." Sam laughs and seeds my head with sprinkles. "Now you are delicious." Sam laughs.
I roll my eyes then Sam throw the flour at me. "I got the flour on my eyes!" I said to him and close my eyes and rub my eyes.
"Don't rub it." Sam takes my hand. He open my eyes using his fingers and blow my eyes. I open my eyes slowly and we both looking at each other. "You have beautiful eyes." Sam says to me.
We both keep looking at each other until he pulls his face closer to me about to kiss me. I turn my face away quickly and wipe my hands with tissue paper. No. I can't kiss him. It will be a disaster.
Suddenly I heard the front door is opening. "Guys? I smell chocolate here." Dad walks in. "What are you guys doing?"
"We're baking!" I giggle. "I found these cute cookies cutters and I thought we never have one so I bought them and we made chocolate dip cookies. Be our guest." I smile at dad.
"Yeah she is the one who spent your money to buy these stuffs not me, Mr. Schue." Sam says to dad.
"Do you brought the dinner I asked you?" I ask dad and walk to laundry room and pick up a clean towel to clean my face.
"Yeah and I hope you don't mind that I invited Ms. Pillsbury over." Dad says to me as Ms. Pillsbury walks into the kitchen and smiles at us. "Alright, you can sit down there and I'm gonna prepare the dinner." Dad says to her.
She walks to the dining table and take baby wipes from her bag. I let out a sigh and cleaning up the kitchen counter. I put the cookies into a cookies jar and takes a piece.
I never have any guts to tell dad that I don't like her. Not like her personality. I just can't accept her. She ruined my family. I mean, if dad wasn't meet her and my parents wouldn't get divorced. I'm exhausted doing the custody every week.
"I'm gonna take shower first. I got this chocolate all over my face." I said to dad and walk upstairs.
I half smiled and walk to my room. I close my room door and walk to the bathroom. I wash my face on the sink and then look at to the mirror. How am I going to stay like this forever?
*Sectionals*
I'm standing in front of the piano and doing vocal warming up with the others. Today is sectionals day and we will facing some of our friends in The Troubletones. I know it suck.
"Let's take a few moments to gather our thoughts.
Troubletones are on in five." Dad says to us.
"Hello, Will." Ms. Corcoran walks in with The Troubletones.
"Looking good, ladies!" Dad smiles at them.
"We just came to say, may the best glee club win." Ms. Corcoran says to us.
"Yes, and just in case that glee club is us, I have convinced Miss Corcoran to consider a contingency plan." Santana says to us.
"Yes, in the event of a New Directions loss, Troubletones has voted to allow any of you to join us at Regionals." Ms. Corcoran smiles at us.
"You're welcome." Sugar simply said.
"Excuse me? That's incredibly rude, Santana." Finn frowns.
"We're being nice. It would be rude if I followed you around and every time you took a step, I played a note on a tuba." Santana simply said.
"Thank you for the offer, Miss Corcoran, but right now, we're gonna concentrate on winning this thing." Dad says to her.
"And we will be winning, Shelby. We've got it in the bag.Puck here is going to come through for us.
He's such a shining star, in every conceivable way.
Don't you think?" Quinn smirks at her.
"Good luck, everybody. See you on the ice." She smiles at us and walks away with the Troubletones.
I let out a sigh and button my blazer then walk out from the choir room. I walk to the auditorium and look around over the seat row until I see my mom is sitting down on a seat.
"You're coming!" I smile at her and hug her.
"I won't miss it for the world. Good luck." Mom rubs my hair and kisses my cheek.
I walk to my audience seat and sit down there. "And now, the judges for this year's Show Choir Sectional here at McKinley High. Department of Motor Vehicles Employee of the Month, Brandy Englebert! From the 11th District Court of Appeals, the Honorable Judge Dorothy Saunders! And Western Ohio's Birthday Clown of the Year three years running, Tickles! And now, let's welcome our first performers. All the way from Defiance, Ohio, the Unitards!"
"I see your mom came here." Dad says and sits down next to me with Ms. Pillsbury sitting down on the next one.
"Yeah I sent her ticket besides this is first time we have sectionals in our auditorium since 1976." I said to him.
"That's right." Dad nods. "How do you feel?"
"Nervous." I half smiled.
The Unitards ended up their performance. I stand up from my seat and give them applause. The Troubletones have Santana and Mercedes. We don't even have Rachel.
"Ladies and gentlemen, from McKinley High, competing for the first time ever, the Troubletones!"
We are applauding and see the Troubletones are performing on stage. They're performing a mashup song of I Will Survive and Survivor. They may have pretty ladies but we have hot guys.
"Alright, guys get ready now." Dad says to us.
I stand up and walk to the backstage to get ready for the performance. The Troubletones is finally ended up their performance and it was bring a standing ovation from the full house.
"Also from McKinley High, let's give it up for the New Directions!"
I'm on my own, I'll call my own shots
Thank you
Blaine:
Got my own mind
I wanna make my own (with Artie and New Directions: decisions)
When it has to do with (with New Directions: my life, my life)
So let me take you by the hand
And lead you on this dance, ah
Second song is done. Now the last one. We picked these setlist really carefully because we didn't want to screw things up. And I hope we didn't.
Artie:
Ooh huh, hoo..ooh
Finn:
I'm gonna make a change,
For once in my life
Artie and Finn:
It's gonna feel real good,
Gonna make a difference
Finn:
Gonna make it right...
Puck:
As I, turn up the collar on
My favorite winter coat
This wind is blowin' my mind
Artie and Blaine:
I see the kids in the street, (Blaine: with not enough to eat)
Who am I, to be blind?
Pretending not to see their needs
Sam (with Blaine):
A summer's disre(gard),
A broken bottle (top)
And one man's soul
Artie (with Blaine):
They follow each other on the wind ya' know
(Cause they got no where to go)
That's why I want you to know
Finn with New Directions:
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
Artie and Finn with New Directions:
Nanana nanana nananana
Artie:
Oh oh...
Blaine (with Artie):
I've been a victim of a selfish kinda love
It's time that I realize
(There are some with no home,)
Not a nickel to loan
Could it be, really me
(Pretending that they're not alone?)
Mike (with Sam):
A willow deeply (scarred),
Somebody's broken (heart)
And a washed out dream (New Directions:Washed out dream...)
Puck:
They follow the pattern of the wind you see
Puck with Finn:
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me
Finn with Artie and New Directions:
I'm starting with the man in the mirror (New Directions: You)
I'm asking him to change his ways (New Directions: You)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make that change
I'm starting with the man in the mirror (New Directions: You)
I'm asking him to change his ways (New Directions: You)
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make that
New Directions:
Mike with New Directions:
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change (Artie: Come on!)
You got to get it right, while you got the time (Artie: Wooooo!)
'Cause when you close your heart, (Artie: You can't), then you close your
(Artie: Close your, your mind) mind!
Finn (with New Directions):
I'm starting with the (man in the mirror, oh yeah) (Artie: That man, that man, that man)
I'm asking him to change his ways (New Directions: Just change) (Artie: That man, that man, that man, that man, You know, that man)
Now we are on the stage holding our hands at each other. Hoping for the winning. We ended up our performance with full of standing ovation. And Sam brought those disgusting yet hot sex moves that the judges like so it like we have 90% chance of winning.
"As an award-winning clown, I'd like to say that it's nice, for once, to be working with kids that are just sick with talent. Third place....The Unitards!"
We are applauding and smiling as the judges give the Unitards the trophy. We then move our standing place and walk to the middle.
"In second place we have........the Troubletones! In first place is New Directions!"
We are cheering and hugging at each other. Sam suddenly hugs me tight and swing me around until we both look at each other and pulls away awkwardly again. I don't know what's wrong with us but I'm happy that we won again.
I'm sitting down on the couch in family room with blanket all over my lap and a sketch book. This is my typical day night. If I didn't sketching, I would read comic book. I have passion with arts and I hope that I could make it someday.
Suddenly I heard some steps to downstairs. I turn my face and see Sam walks in and turn his way to kitchen. "I thought you already sleeping in your room." Sam says to me.
"Not yet." I shake my head.
"What are you doing?" Sam sits down next to me and eating a box of cornflakes. "Is that me?" Sam asks me and point to my sketch.
"Yes. I'm making a real comedy stripe comic. I have passion in arts. Since I was little kid I always got the highest score at drawing." I said to him. "Why you didn't sleep?"
"I'm kinda having sleeping trouble nowadays. At home, my little sister usually read me a bed time story to made me fall asleep." Sam says to me.
"Do you want me to read a bed time story for you?" I raise my eyebrows at him.
"No. Do you have any story about Star Wars? Like Star Wars fanfiction maybe?" Sam asks me.
"I can Google it." I said to him and close my sketch book then take my iPad. "Oh I found some. Do you want to hear it?"
"Okay but can we go upstairs? Because I can't sleep on the couch that shorter than my legs." Sam frowns.
"Sure." I nod and get up. "Put that box back into the pantry or I'll kill you." I said to Sam.
I take my blanket and turn off the living room lights then walk upstairs. I walk to Sam's bedroom and sit down on bean bag pillow.
"You're pretty neat." I said to him as I look around his room.
"Yeah I don't like messy things even sometimes I left my shirt on the ground." Sam says and lays down on the bed and pulling the blanket all over his body.
I start reading the fanfiction from my iPad while sitting down on that bean bag. I look at him and he is starring at the ceiling. I chuckle and continue reading the fanfiction. I guess he is my new close friend now.
It's finally the holiday that I love the most, yes Christmas! It's not about how much we get the Christmas present but it's about the giving. Yes I love Christmas and everything about it.
When Christmas Day is here
The most wonderful, wonderful
Wonderful, wonderful
Wonderful day of the year!
We are standing around our Christmas tree and looking at it. "This year Christmas tree is totally awesome." I smile.
"We might have spent the entire decorating budget for the whole year, but with something that looks as absolutely fabulous as this, I have to say, brav-ho-ho-ho." Rachel smiles and clapping her hands.
I chuckle and sit down on my seat. Sam is sitting down next to me. We are totally become close friend since we live together. I read him fanfictions every night before he goes to sleep or sometimes usual bed time story.
"Guess who's not getting coal in their stockings foonce us. I just got off the phone with Don Borowski, the local station manager at Lima's PBS affiliate." Dad walks in. "Turns out that their annual broadcast of the Yule log burning has been canceled." Dad grins at us.
"The hell?" Puck frowns.
"Yeah, they can't afford the licensing fees anymore. But thank you, Scrooges who own that copyright, because Don came to Sectionals, he loved what we did - and he is offering us..." Dad grins at us.
"A Christmas special featuring all of us?" Artie asks excitedly.
"Okay please say you said yes." Rachel says to dad.
"Not only did I say yes, but when Don said that they were looking for a director for the special, I nominated you, Artie." Dad smiles and points at Artie.
"Me?" Artie frowns.
"Yeah. He saw West Side Story, loved your work, and he wants to take a meeting." Dad says to Artie.
"But I I swore I would never sell out and do television. I'm really going to have to think about this, Mr. Schue." Artie says to dad.
I half smiled and walk out from the choir room as I heard the bell rings. I walk to my locker and write on the list that I made. I'm gonna do something special this year but I don't know what it should be. Or maybe a little charity.
~~
I'm decorating the Christmas three with Sam in different side. I'm on the front and he is on the back. It's like I'm having an older brother here. It's fun and I'm not alone anymore.
"Sweetie, I'm home!" Dad walks in. "Wow since when my baby girl let anyone else decorated her beloved Christmas tree?" Dad chuckles.
"Dad, having a perfectly decorated tree is not what Christmas is about. It's about being with the people that you love." I smile at him. "You can help Sam with his side." I said to dad.
"Alright, I will join." Dad says and walks to Sam.
I smile and keep decorating our Christmas tree. "I will bake ginger chocolate chips cookies tomorrow. You will have Christmas with us right?" I ask Sam.
"No, I will go home. I will bring Rory to have Christmas with my family." Sam says to us.
"Where are we going for Christmas this year?" I ask dad.
"Your mom and I agreed to take you to Harry Potter and The Cursed Child stage play in Chicago." Dad smiles at me.
"Really?" I ask excitedly.
"Yeah. You can't stop whimpering about it." Dad chuckles.
"Yeah well, who doesn't love Harry Potter?" I giggle.
"The nerd guy with magic trick?" Sam frowns.
"Better than Star Wars." I roll my eyes.
"Alright we are done with our tree!" Dad and Sam cheers.
I walk to their side and look at the tree they decorated. I shake my head and turn the side around which my side is facing the front. Which facing the front.
"I thought she wouldn't turn it around." Dad simply said.
"I heard that!" I roll my eyes and walk to the kitchen. "Dad, I'm so lazy to cook, can we call Breadstix?"
"No, I will cook." Dad says to me and walks to the kitchen.
I walk to the pantry and take Orly food and put it on his bowl. "Orly, time for dinner!" I shout. I heard Orly footsteps on the stairs until he turns to the kitchen and I put the bowl on the ground.
"He is really smart." Sam says while looking at Orly.
"He is well trained. He won't pee in anywhere except in toilet." I said to Sam and sit down on the counter. "Dad, you know that I love sketching and making stripe comic since I was little right?"
"Yeah. Why?" Dad asks me.
"Can I enter Hunter College, City University of New York? They have this best arts program and the tuition fee is not that expensive so if I don't get scholarship, you still can afford that." I said to dad.
"Isn't that public state university?" Dad turns his face at me.
"Yes." I nod. "Can I?" I grin at him.
"Make sure you're graduate first." Dad chuckles.
"Like I'm not going to graduate." I roll my eyes.
"Hey, I got report from Ms. Jenskin that you got A- for your algorithm exam." Dad says to me.
"That was her fault to gave exam without telling us before." I shrug.
"Mr. Schue, I was wondering. Since I lived here, will you give me A+ for my Spanish exam?" Sam asks dad.
"Hah don't wish!" I roll my eyes.
"No, Sam. I'm very professional and strict about grades. Even she has to study hard first." Dad says to Sam. "Alright, barbeque chicken pop is ready." Dad grins at us and put the food on the dining table.
~~
I open my eyes slowly as I feel thirsty. I look around my room and Sam is sleeping on my hanging chair. Yeah I was tired from reading him a bed time story so I gave him a book and let him to read it by himself.
I get up and take a glass of water from my desk and sip the water. After that, I walk to my closet and take a blanket. I'm sitting down in front of Sam and take the book then put the blanket all over his body and rub his head.
With him my life seems brighter now. I'm not lonely anymore and I feel like I have a close friend again. It's really nice.
I continue lay down on my bed and turn off the lamp and pull the blanket on. Christmas week is still begin and I can't wait for that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now we are in auditorium. I'm just listening to Rachel sing a song to us for that PBS show. This is my second Christmas year without my parents to be together and I just hope that they could be one for me on Christmas.
I lean my head on Sam's sleeve and listening to the song that Rachel sing which is kinda sad. I don't want to be sad on Christmas, I want to be happy.
"Rachel, could you come see me?" Artie called Rachel as Rachel ended up her song.
"Yes, Artie, of course. And if this is about my ears, I know that they're a little naked right now, but that's just because I'm waiting for something special. Something that's really gonna sparkle and, you know, catch the light. So what's up?" Rachel says to Artie.
"It's not about your ears, it's about your song. It makes me want to kill myself." Artie simply said.
"I'm sorry, Joni Mitchell is not depressing, she's emotional." Rachel frowns.
"It doesn't fit my vision for our Christmas spectacular." Artie shakes his head.
"And what is that exactly?" I frown.
"We begin in the Swiss Alps, in the village of Gstaad, in the perfely-appointed living room of Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson's chic swank chalet. The tree towering and opulent. The fireplace draped in garlands. The stockings bejeweled. Kurt and Blaine, the perfect hosts have invited their friends to drop in for an evening of Noel Coward-esque banter and fun, happy, cheer-filled songs." Artie says to us.
"Are you telling me I'm not invited to Kurt and Blaine's for Christmas?" Rachel asks Artie.
"Not unless you pick a happier song. The evenins festivities conclude with Rory, dressed as the Christmas elf Itchy, reciting Frosty the Snowman. Start with fun, end with fun. That's how you do it, kids." Artie smiles at us.
"The Frosty story isn't fun. At the end, he melts and dies." Sam frowns.
"I'm rebooting Frosty. In my version, he doesn't melt.He.. well, new pages forthcoming." Artie says to Sam.
"What's wrong with a story that's a little sad or a song that's a little depressing? I mean, that's part of Christmas, too, right? It's the sad things that make you remember what's really important." Sam says to Artie.
"Sorry, Sam, but the phrase is "Merry Christmas," not "morose Christmas" That's the vision. That's what you have to buy into." Artie says to Sam.
"Well, sorry, Artie, I'm not buying into it. I'm gonna go downtown, see if I can ring one of those Salvation Army bells." Sam gets up and about to walk off. "Come on, Rory. I'll give you a ride." Sam turns his face at Rory.
"I should memorize my part, Sam." Rory says to Sam.
"Fine." Sam simply said and walks out from the auditorium.
I half smiled and let out a sigh until I heard the bell rings. I actually don't want to be in a show where Kurt, Rachel, and Blaine will taking all the spotlight. I'm invisible in this school and everything I did is not matter.
~~
I'm sorting out some stuff that I can giveaway for a charity. Instead of rehearsing for that show and listening to how Artie wants the show to be. It's better to be at home, packing stuff for charity.
"Do you have any...what are you doing?" Sam walks into my bedroom.
"I have these children books that I never read anymore since I was in middle school. Maybe I can give it away for charity you know. Like a school for homeless kids." I smile at Sam.
"What about you come with me? We can volunteer at Lima Homeless Shelter and then we can donate these books. Then we also can collecting donations in downtown. How is that?" Sam smiles back at me.
"I never do all those things before but sure." I giggle.
"Being homeless make me realize that if you always look to someone above you, it will never be the end, we always wanted more. But somehow we have to look to someone below us and realized that everything we have is enough." Sam says to me.
"I actually agree with you about what you said in auditorium today." I said to him. "It's been two years I'm facing Christmas without my parents to be together." I half smiled.
"Aren't your dad and your mom fine now?" Sam asks me.
"Yeah they both are fine with not being together but I'm not. I'm exhausted doing the custody. I want to live in a house with both of my parents in it." I half smiled. "And honestly, the biggest reason why I'm single because it's hard for me to trust someone and having commitment. That's why I just love watching my crush and never talk to him."
"That guy across the street? Really?" Sam raises his eyebrows.
"You said he was cute." I roll my eyes.
"Come here." Sam sits down next to me and hugs me. "Look, I can help you to go out on a date with him if you want to. I can talk it out."
"No. He already assume that you're gay. I'm sure with that." I shake my head.
"Alright. But look, your parents already made a decision. They still love you no matter what. Your mom can't stop talking about you at work. Currently she told Howard Bamboo to find the best Christmas present for you and 90% of them are wrong." Sam says while rubbing my back.
"Really?" I frown.
"Yeah. I saw it." Sam smiles at me. "Look, this is Christmas week and no tears on this day. You should be happy we all have to be happy even though everything is not perfect.
"Thank you Sam." I smile back at him.
"Do you have any colour pen anyway?" Sam asks me.
"On my desk." I said to him and point to my desk.
"Alright, I borrow these." Sam takes my colour pen and walks out from my bedroom.
I smile and continue sorting these books. Yeah Sam is right. Everything that he said is totally right. I'm sure I will have the best Christmas this year.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm applauding annoyingly as Blaine and Rachel ended up their song. I'm stuck in this room because of dad which I actually don't like it. Because this is not what Christmas about.
"I bow to you." Artie grins at them.
"Oh, God." Rachel giggles.
"Gold. Gold! That's what I'm talking about! I see Cheerios behind you, kind of a dancing Santa thing." Artie grins at them.
"Just as long as they don't upstage us." Rachel simply said and goes back to her seat.
"Yeah, as long as they don't upstage us." Blaine nods.
"Good." Artie smiles happily.
"Look at you do-gooders. Hard at work." Coach Sylvester walks in.
"Coach Sylvester, we're in the middle of rehearsal." Artie says to her.
"Yeah, and I think it's great you're working so hard on your performance. And I'll tell you what. Everyone at the homeless shelter is really looking forward to the show. I just wanted to confirm with you, Artie, that we're on for Friday night.
Oh, Friday." Coach Sylvester smiles at us.
"It's a no-can-do on Friday. We're taping our Christmas special for the Lima PBS." Artie shakes his head.
"You told me you were in." Coach Sylvester frowns .
"This is a huge opportunity for us. Can we just do it another night?" Artie asks.
"Homeless will be homeless for a while. That's sort of the problem. I promised them. You don't want to disappoint these kids." Coach Sylvester says to us.
"Hmm, like your behavior has disappointed us for years?" Mercedes asks.
"Last Christmas, you cut down our tree, you stole our presents and you made Becky dress up like a reindeer." Artie frowns.
"So you're gonna walk away from people who have nothing?" Coach Sylvester asks us.
"No, not at all. We're just gonna distract them from their plight and the smell of urine and make them happy with our glamorous Christmas cheer." Rachel grins at her.
"The homeless don't have TVs. So you're all agreed on this? Fine. Merry Christmas." Coach Sylvester simply said and walks away.
"Let's take it from the top, guys. And remember, smile." Artie grins at us.
I let out a sigh and take my bag then walk out from the choir room. I'm sick with people who doesn't have any sense of giving. I mean it's not about coach Sue but it's about those homeless kids.
"Coach Sylvester?" I called her and run to her.
"Yeah Schuester?" She turns her face at me.
"I'll be volunteering at the Lima Homeless Shelter. I also have some old children books that still clean and in a good condition also some clothes that still new but I never wear those. Can I donate those?" I ask her.
"Sure, kiddo. See you this Friday." Coach Sylvester smiles at me and walks away.
I smile and turn around. Yes I want to do a charity this year and how to do this from myself. I don't care if I don't have to be on TV. I more care what if those homeless people wouldn't have food for Christmas.
