KIA
Have you ever laughed at yourself while believing in love? The kind of love that makes you blind when all you see are signs. When you are confronted with reality, you may believe that you are the one who is wrong, that you are missing something, and that this is why he is looking for someone else. There are a lot of questions wandering in my head, like: Is it really necessary to be stupid when you're in love? How long was it actually going on before I found out? Why didn't he just dump me if he was going to cheat? How could he just look me in the eyes every day and lie? Did he not feel any sort of remorse? What did I do wrong?
All I did was to love him unconditionally, but I guess loving a person isn't enough...
My name is Kianna Myst Saavedra, and my boyfriend, or should I say fiance, cheated on me with my sister, just like all the other cliches in the film. Yup! My younger sister! half-sister, to be precise. The toughness of people's faces. My sister is the one he chose out of the vast number of women on the planet. While my snake sister chose my fiance from the dynamic number of males in the world. Isn't it lovely? My boyfriend, as well as her boyfriend,
Cute, matchy!
Do you think that's the end of the story? No! Because this is where everything begins. I drank away my sadness and met a man. Oh, wait-everything that transpired was completely unexpected! Don't pass judgment on me beforehand. First, listen to my story.
-
I was set to surprise my fiancé at his condo just an hour ago. Today is our anniversary. We had a fight last night, and I was busy surprising him in order to reconcile. However, I did not anticipate being startled. I had just parked and was ready to leave when I noticed him entering his condo building with his arms around my stepsister... I followed them in secret and witnessed the most awful sight of my life.
I never thought such a dramatic story would happen to me! My 5 years of love! all fucking wasted!
I'm currently pouring a bottle of Carlo Rossi California Red, hoping that the wine will help me forget about him and the misery he has given me. However, why is this the case? Why am I in more pain now? Why am I being forced to do this? Is it right to hurt me? Is he cheating on me because I'm not good enough for him? Why does it appear like nothing matters anymore, including the time we spent together?
Here I am again... My tears are betraying me. They are deliberately taking the lead in falling...
I'm currently in the hotel's corridor, seeking the nearest restroom. I've gone around here before and have gotten lost since the doors are very identical. It's the same when I turn around.
"How come it's the corridor again?" I said to myself. I think I'm lost.
Sob...
My world seemed to be whirling slowly as I lost control of myself. My stomach seems to be changing. I'm in desperate need of a restroom. I can't just puke here. When other people and hotel employees watch me suddenly vomit somewhere, it's embarrassing.
It's starting to feel strange... I've been roaming around the hotel for hours but have yet to meet anyone. Could someone just show up and lead me to the restroom?
When I started to feel dizzy, I grabbed the door in front of me. I just closed my eyes and leaned against the door for a few moments. I'm dizzy to the point where I can't stand it any longer. I was sliding in when the door, on which I was leaning, opened unexpectedly. I ran into a man who appeared to be around 5'11 tall.
He asked, huskily, "Are you all right?" I raised my eyes and saw the heavenly face. Shit! What a fallen angel! Is it possible that I'm in heaven?!
I straightened up and moved away from him. "Oh, I'm sorry. I got lost. I-I didn't intend to break in..." I mumbled. I awoke feeling horrible again. I felt like the food that I had eaten earlier was starting to rise. I need to pee as well. I desperately need to use the restroom. "Ah - do you mind if I use your restroom?" I asked, embarrassed. I even focused my stunning eyes on him, making a pity expression. I'm not sure what I'll do if this doesn't work out.
He simply fixed his gaze on me. Did I say something wrong? Does he not want me to use his restroom? This man seemed to melt me. "Excuse me, you are?" he suddenly asked.
"Kianna... Kianna Myst Saavedra," I said while stuttering.
He scoffed at me after suddenly blushing. What exactly is this man's problem? He's acting strangely. I'm a little afraid of him. He makes me think he's insane. Oh my God! Maybe the next day I'll be discovered in a suitcase. Please, Lord, help me!
He took a step closer to me and bowed slightly to allow us to align. I believe that I am too tall for him. I'm 5'3", which is quite tall, right? Let's return to Mr. Handsome. His glare stopped in my eyes as he just stared at my face. With him being so close to me, we were literally eye to eye. I could immediately smell his breath, which smelled like mouthwash. Refreshing!
"You-" he couldn't continue what he was going to say when I suddenly covered his mouth and pulled him away from me. He stared at me in shock and raised an eyebrow at me. "Please! You'll tell me later. Can you tell me where your restroom is first?" I pleaded with him, obviously very surprised. He looked as if he'd witnessed a dragon spitfire.
I glanced at him, expecting him to respond, but he remained silent. He simply stood there staring at me as if I were a madman on the street.
*Blurgh*
I immediately covered my mouth. I suddenly had the feeling that the food I had just eaten was rising on purpose. Oh my God! I can no longer handle it. I absolutely need to get this out of my system!
"Wh-what's wrong? Sh*t! Are you sick? Wait a minute... Don't go there. Just wait. Don't go there!" he yelled after I puked on his room's floor.
"Ah- Finally, I was able to let it out. I'd been dying to vomit, and it's so comfortable..." Because my body was so tired, I lay down on the floor and soon fell asleep.
"What the fuck woman?! Don't sleep on the vomit!" I even heard him shout in front of me.
I can't take it anymore... I try to wake up, but my eyes deliberately deceive me. I can no longer think clearly because of my severe headache and I feel like the world is spinning...
Ares
A woman slammed into my chest as I was about to walk outside. What is this woman doing just outside my door doing? "Are you okay?" I inquired calmly. She was taken aback when she looked up at me. I was caught off guard when I realized who this woman was.
It's her! It's been 8 years, I didn't expect that we'll meet again. I think destiny made us meet again...
"Excuse me, you are?" I asked her. I need to double-check that I'm thinking correctly. I know it's her, yet a part of me still wonders if it's actually her. She has changed so much that I don't recognize her anymore...
"Kianna... Kianna Myst Saavedra," she answered.
It's her indeed! It's like we are destined to meet. It's been a long time since the last time I saw her. She's still very pretty but she looks a little off?
"You-"
She abruptly covered my mouth, which caught me off guard. "Please!" she exclaimed, "You'll tell me later, but can you tell me where your restroom is first?"
I couldn't take my gaze away from her. I'm trying to figure out what's going on with her. I hadn't quite finished thinking when she abruptly changed her expression and appeared to be holding something back. She quickly vomited on the floor, covering her mouth. She made matters worse by laying down on the floor. What a fortunate circumstance. Why do we need to meet again in this way?
"Don't sleep on the vomit!" I screamed. What the fuck is she doing?!
I tried to wake her up, but she was sound asleep. She's snoring after only a minute. She had fallen asleep so quickly. When I lifted her up, I noticed the scent of wine on her. Her vomit odor was more overpowering. It turns out that alcohol has a very different effect on her body. I was fortunate enough to be the one who met her. What if she runs into someone she doesn't know? It's still dangerous at this moment because there are so many maniacs around.
"You're still a pain in the neck...How come she's so drunk?" I whispered.
I never imagined we'd meet again after eight years in such dire circumstances. But what happened to you all these years?
"How could you treat me like this?... Please, don't leave me..." She murmured while sleeping.
Turns out she lost her love. Poor little Kia. What if I didn't leave the country? What if I stay? Will I end up with her? ...Kianna Myst Saavedra, I will never let you go this time! I will let you experience how true love works!
-
Kia regained her consciousness the next morning. She had no choice but to open her eyes because the sun was already shining on her face. She first let her eyes adjust because what she could see was too hazy. She was just staring at the ceiling when a twinge in her sinuses appeared.
Umm? Shit! I'm experiencing some vertigo...
She slowly got out of bed. Her eyes were drawn to a stunning room. The items that the wealthy appear to own will attract her attention. She just realized she wasn't in her room after that.
This room was filled with the light of morning. The sun was shining on my face when I awoke. I stepped to the window and massaged my bleary eyes. There was a pearly glimmer in the sky. I can tell, it was a lovely and bright morning. Clouds moved over the sky, white and fluffy.
Where am I?
After a night of heavy drinking...
She was taken aback when she remembered the man from last night. She couldn't help but scream at first, trying to figure out what had happened while she was unconscious.
"You are awake."
Kia quickly hid under the blanket and turned to face the source of the voice. His hair was wet, and water was still flowing from it on the floor. Fresh from the bathroom, huh! Kia said in her mind.
The bravery of this man, who stepped out only wearing a towel wrapped around him. He has a lovely figure, but he can't take me that way!
Kia screamed angrily, "You wretch! What have you done to me?" It didn't seem to notice her and even approached her. "Stay back!" Kia exclaimed.
Kia shivered and hid in the blanket, much to her horror. Ares couldn't help but be intrigued by Kia's odd behavior.
"Take it easy, we just did-uhm," Ares said gently.
Kia's eyes widened even more when she heard him stuttering, "We what?! My clothes have been... been... Anyways, I'm calling the cops to have you arrested! You're a rascal! Dirty dog!" Kia exclaimed angrily.
Ares let out a deep sigh. When he helped Kia, he didn't expect her to react so negatively. "I was drunk last night and you broke into my room and vomited, which is why... If you don't believe me, we can examine the hotel surveillance. It must shoot extremely clearly, so you can be clear on your thoughts..." Ares raged.
Ares said something that surprised Kia and left her dumbfounded. She wasn't sure if she'd believe it or feel ashamed of what she'd done earlier.
"However, I was wrong to make my own decision; I apologize... I am not a jerk who takes advantage of others; I will be accountable for you," Ares added.
Ares' remarks stunned Kia. He had no idea what he was talking about.
"So..." Ares smiled. "Let's get married!
Marriage is not a joke! It is hard work that demands a total commitment from both people to work. Why did this guy suddenly ask me to get married?
Kia was taken aback and asked Ares, "What are you talking about?... You want to marry me?"
Ares soon became sweaty when Kia asked the question. "I am man enough to be responsible and make her feel protected." He thought to himself.
Ares inquired anxiously, "Mhmm... Will you marry me?"
Kia was surprised and asked Ares, "Are you serious? You want to marry me?"
Ares felt nervous when Kia posed the question. He thought to himself, "I'm mature enough to take responsibility and make her feel safe."
Anxiously, Ares inquired, "Um... Will you marry me?"
Will she agree? She's lucky to have me as her husband. Look at me. Could I still not meet her expectations? Ares thought.
Kia was caught off guard by the question. She couldn't believe that Ares was talking about marriage so casually. Why doesn't he seem to understand the seriousness of it? Marriage isn't a joke... Anyway, we can always get a divorce after we're married, right? ... Wait, what am I thinking? Kia, snap out of it! Are you blind? He looks like he comes from a wealthy background. We should steer clear of wealthy people; they only bring us pain. Kia thought to herself.
"Oh, no," Kia exclaimed, "never mind. Can you help me find a dress? I really need to go!"
Ares couldn't believe that Kia had rejected him.
"What are you saying?! You're saying no to me? Do you know who I am, lady?! I'm your average guy-next-door!"
He just smiled and didn't respond to Kia's words. "I know we've just met, but I assure you I'm a trustworthy person. I wasn't joking about wanting to marry you; I'll take care of you," Ares replied.
Kia's face and eyes showed anger. It was as if she found his words distasteful and didn't want to hear them. "Didn't you hear me? I said, help me find a dress because I need to leave! I just want to stay away from wealthy people! I'm tired of being deceived!" Kia was irritated.
Ares was surprised by her reaction. She wants to avoid... wealthy people? What has she been through all these years? I need to come up with a new plan... Ares, think!
Ares chuckled, "Rich people?" "You seem to be misjudging what you see... I'm just an assistant... Do I look wealthy?... I'm overwhelmed... But, sorry to disappoint you, I got drunk with my bosses last night and I got really drunk. They felt bad, so they arranged this place for me." Ares sheepishly scratched his head, realizing he had shared more than he intended.
Kia looked at Ares and seemed to be scrutinizing his face. "Are you telling the truth?" Kia asked innocently.
When Ares saw that Kia appeared to believe him, he smiled. "Of course, do I look like I'm lying?" Ares asked, grinning. "But, like I said before, I want to take care of you, so I want to provide you a home."
Ares' words made Kia smile, despite her headache and the lingering effects of the wine she had the night before.

A home... What a comforting word...
The only home I knew in the past was my family: Mom, Dad, and me, their only daughter. But everything changed when my mother tragically died in a car accident. I was deeply depressed during that time. Waking up every day without her, I felt lost.
My dad remarried his mistress and they had a daughter together. Since then, it felt like I had lost my family. The special treatment I once received vanished like it never existed. My father seemed more focused on his new wife and their child. It was as if he had forgotten I was his own child. They now owned the house I once called home. I didn't belong there anymore.
Could this day be the turning point in my life? Is this the loving and caring home I've been longing for? Perhaps it's time for me to make my own choice. There's no harm in trying to lead a normal social life. He seems trustworthy and kind...
"Could you please do as I've asked?" I inquired.
I couldn't tear my eyes away from him. His presence was so commanding, like an angel from heaven. Lucky guy, some people are just blessed with incredible genes.
"What is it?" He asked.
"Are we entering a marriage of convenience?" I asked again. He nodded, still wearing that smile. "I want us to complete the contract and part ways as if nothing happened after two years..." I explained.
He seemed taken aback as his smile disappeared. His reaction made me anxious. Did I say something he didn't like? Isn't that what he wants?
"Um... We'll divorce in two years, but don't worry, I'll fulfill my duties as your wife during that time..." I added.
Will he agree? Why is he staring at me, speechless? Is there something in my eye? Is my face dirty? I can't bear his awkward gaze any longer. Please, Lord, make me disappear. I think I said something wrong...
"Alright, let's make a deal!" he exclaimed.
Surprisingly, he agreed to my terms without hesitation. Was it really that easy to ask him and have him agree? Maybe he doesn't want a long-term commitment either, which is why he agreed to a two-year contract so readily...
He approached the bed and sat down beside me. He held my right hand, but my left hand was quickly covered by the blanket that was meant to cover my naked body. "Let's not waste any more time; let's get married today," he suggested. "I'll go home and get my identification papers, and you can do the the same. We'll meet at the civil affairs bureau later."
"Mhm! Alright..." I didn't object to his plan and simply agreed.
I stopped him in his tracks when he tried to leave. "Wait!" I called out to him.
"What? Are you having second thoughts?" he asked.
"N-no... I forgot to ask your name," I said, scratching my head, ready to inquire.
My question brought a smile to his face. What a cocky person. What does he think of himself? I know he's attractive, but let's not get too full of ourselves!
He continued to smile as he replied, "I'm Ares France Vuertalejo... Your soon-to-be husband."
"Hmm... Ares... Nice name, huh? Well, Mr. Ares France Vuertalejo, you ripped my dress! How am I supposed to go home like this?!?" I complained.
He scratched his head and chuckled a bit. "I'm sorry, I got carried away and lost control... I'll get you a new one right away!" he said, rushing to the bathroom to change. He left the room after promising to buy me some clothes.
"Well, now that I'm on my own, how can I be sure that Mr. Ares France Vuertalejo isn't a scam artist?"
