Rachel's P.O.V

Dear Michael, It was just only yesterday that we were having the best night ever. It was your birthday and we went to that club downtown to celebrate. We invited our friends and we were having an amazing time dancing and singing terribly to our favourite songs. We were having the time of our lives.

I didn't want you to go for a walk with Kevin at that time of night but you just wouldn't take no for an answer. I even offered to come with you but you just wouldn't let me, saying that you had to talk to Kevin about something important. When you said that you would come back safe, I wanted to believe you, but something inside of me just told me that something was going to go wrong.

Downtown is a bad place to go for walks in the middle of the night and everyone knows that. I guess you were too drunk to realise the worry in my eyes when I told you that.

The time flew by and next thing I knew, I was sitting at the bar with Michelle, waiting the small television and downing shots. Then, that's when it happened. The news turned on and the reporter said something about a shooting just a few streets down from the club. I didn't want to believe it. I didn't want to believe that the person that was shot would be you but when I saw a glimpse of your face, I wanted to break down.

But I didn't.

I ran out of the club, in heels might I add, and just ran. I had no idea where I was running to but all I knew was that I had to get to you as fast as I could... I just didn't know where you were. I was too busy sitting there in shock to even listen to the reporter speak.

I had to get to you.

But when I saw the ambulance speed past, going in the opposite direction, I knew I fucked up.

I thought you were gone...

Rachel's P.O.V

Dear Michael, After twenty minutes of waiting for a damn taxi, I finally began to make my way to the nearest hospital with Michelle beside me, tears rolling down her face. I wanted to cry also but my mind was too focused on getting to you and making sure you were okay.

When we arrived at the hospital, the first thing I did was throw away those heels. There was no way I could survive running around a huge building trying to find you with heels on. Do you know how much they hurt?

You were in room 210 - well, that's what the doctor told me. When I got to your room though, I didn't see you. I saw a pale guy who was in your room, just lying there with nothing but a few cords attached to him and a few needles also. When I looked at him though, I couldn't believe that who I was actually looking at was you.

The guy I fell in love with.

You were so pale and your lips were purple. When I grabbed onto your hand, you were freezing so I got more blankets. All Michelle and I did after that was just sit in the two chairs that were in your room and watched the monitor, just hoping that you would be okay so we could both hear your voice that we both enjoyed hearing.

After a few hours, Michelle fell asleep on my shoulder, tears stained on her cheeks. I didn't like seeing your sister this way, just crying and crying until she fell asleep. It wasn't healthy for her and you not moving or saying anything wasn't helping.

I couldn't sleep though. As much as my body needed it, I had to stay awake incase you woke up. I needed to see those green eyes and that beautiful smile again but I didn't know when I could.

Now, it is 4.02am and I am just staring at your still figure, hoping that you will just put me and your sister out of our misery. You're the only family we have and we can't lose you.

We just can't...

Rachel's P.O.V

Dear Michael, It has officially been two days since you first arrived in this hell hole and everyone at school is worried about you. Michelle and I had to even sit through a half an hour assembly that was just about you. Everyone thought you were dying which pissed me off.

The teachers couldn't stop giving me looks of sympathy and even one teacher asked me if I wanted to see a therapist or whatever. Does it really look like I need one?

Now, I am sitting in your hospital room again, Michelle by my side. She is staring at you like she is on the verge of crying... again. I don't want Michelle to cry again. She needs to be strong. I keep telling her that you are going to be okay, that you are going to wake up soon and give us all big hugs. She nods but I know she doesn't believe me.

Michelle really thinks she has lost you already...

The doctor came in a few minutes ago and said that you haven't improved at all, which didn't help Michelle and I at all. He said that we have to go soon because you have to go and do an ultrasound but I don't want to leave you.

I left you once and something bad happened...

That isn't happening again.
