The hostel was chaotic. All the girls were running out of the corridors. The fire caught the whole place. My heart was racing at a fast pace. I didn't know how to run out of this room. I didn't even know if I will live today or burnt down with this building.

My head was pounding as the smoke was going in my nostrils. I covered my nose with my hands coughing badly. I can feel it the smoke was making it hard to breathe. My eyes were red, I didn't want to cry. I didn't want to lose my will power, I didn't want to give up. But I think my time has come... I will be dead here.

I shouted for help, I cried. I heard everyone leaving the building... The cries of girls, I did cry for help. But no one heard my plea. I can see the flames in the corridor. I can see my death in front of my eyes. AND, I gave up!!! Should I want to live?

There is nothing out there for me to live for... Only my soul. Does this life mean anything to anyone? No, I am alone in this world.

After my parents, no one cared. I will not lie, I have thought to end this life so many times... But didn't dare to do it. I was scared.

But now when I am seeing the death in front of my eyes. I am not frightened, I want to accept the fact that it's over.

My life is going to end here and I will find peace forever... I shrieked back in the corner. The flames of during were reaching up to me. I don't want to feel the pain of burning, I think this smoke will advocate me first!!! I cried and cried.

The pain that was buried in my heart, I let it out... I remember the death of my parents, I grieved on my loose. I remember my brother leaving me alone here, I remembered the betrayal of my best friend.

Does this happen to everyone? Do people conduct your emotions by backstabbing you? I don't know but I can feel my life is miserable enough!!! AND the event happened to me in the hostel, I have lost the last thing that was my self-respect. That man ruined everything. What he did took my self-confidence and self-respect from me, I become a culprit in everyone's eyes. I will never forgive him, I will never forget what he did with me' I hate that man so much...

There is a limit of pain and hurt, I have seen enough. No, I am not strong enough to fight for myself. I think it's better if I close my eyes accepting my fate.

I closed my eyes, I moved away from the hand from my nose. I was starting the flames and the smoke.

I closed my eyes when suddenly only I heard a loud bang.

"Damn it!!! There she is... Get her out." I heard someone shouting ordering people. The voice sounds familiar but I don't know if I can recognise it. I was unable to see anything, due to smoke and fire. My eyes were burning.

My head was being dizzy, I can feel the pain of losing breath. I was feeling it. I was feeling as someones were pulling out the soul from my body. It hurts so bad. But this pain is nothing compared to what I felt in the last few days.

I saw a blurred vision of two men rushing towards me. I think that's it. I am close to death. Finally, I will be free from all the agony. I sadly smiled when someone picked me up in their arms. I.claoed my eyes to engulf the peaceful sleep of death.

It was all dark but I was not at peace. I felt a little sting of pain in my arm and after that, I didn't remember anything...

*Third person p.o.v

(Throwback)

"Leila, come out." Anna called her from her room. Leila was getting ready for her nineteenth birthday party. She saw herself in the mirror. A smile spread on her lips. She was wearing a pink floral print party dress, her face was shining brightly with a beautiful glow. Leila has applied some mascara on her long curled lashes, her white milky cheeks were tinted with a pink blush, her full plump lips glistened with lipgloss. The beautiful brownish-black hairs were falling freely on her back, she has straightened her hairs.

"Leila, come out. Tim is calling to wish you!" Anna said. Leila giggled then come out of the bathroom.

"Gimme the phone..." Leila snatched the phone from her best friend. There was excitement on her face. Timothy is her boyfriend but she is still not ready to introduce him to her family. Leila didn't know how they will react to it! So, she is waiting for the right time to introduce him.

Timothy is her classmate. They were together in grade school. Leila never felt that attracted to anyone before, her eyes caught this young boy with hazel eyes. Leila had a crush on him forever... But he was the one to approach her. Leila was so happy when he admitted his feelings. They were now together for two years, he is so loyal to her, she trusts him so much!!! Leila love and respect their beautiful relationship. It is for the first time in her life she ever let a boy come into her life, but she is happy with him.

If it has been possible maybe he will propose to her for the wedding. Leila feels a rush of adrenaline in her body thinking about the moment. No one knows about him other than Anna.

Leila has this little secret safe with her best friend Anna. She trusts Anna so much!!! They are neighbours and best friend since their childhood. Anna supports her and she cares for her so much. Leila knows Anna will never disappoint her or tell her secret to anyone...

"Hello, Tim. I wish you were here with me." She said with a sad smile.

"Leila, I wish that too... But don't be sad. It's your birthday! Oh, Happy Birthday to you, Happy birthday to you..." He started singing the song for her, she laughed.

"Haha, it's enough! Tim, I am not a baby." She said laughing...

"Happy birthday to the most beautiful girl in the world. I love you, Leila." He said. Her face tinted with a blush.

"Thank you, Tim. I love you too." She said buying her lips. Anna poked her shoulder. She looks towards her in question...

"They are waiting for us downstairs. We have to go..." Anna said in a whispered manner. Leila nodded her head.

"Tim, we will meet tomorrow, I have to go now. Brother is waiting for me." She said to Timothy.

"Okay, Leila. Take care. Enjoy your day." He said then cut off the call. Leila smiled looking towards Anna.

"How do I look?" She asked. Anna hugged her' then said.

"You are looking like a doll. Happy birthday best friend." She said. Both of them then come out of Leila's room walking downstairs.

Leila saw her brother placing the cake on the table. She was so happy.

Sometimes, Leila thinks, how can someone be so lucky!!! Her life is so perfect, she has a loving family, a caring best friend and a loyal boyfriend.

"Leila, come on... Look how are the decorations?" Danny asked her, she went then hugged her brother.

"Thank you so much, big bro. It is so beautiful!" Leila looks at all the decorations in excitement. The theme of light pink and dark pink with fairy lights, balloons and candles. It is looking so creamy and girlish.

"Have you talked with mom and dad?" Leila asked him. He nodded her head.

"Yeah, Leila. They will be here in half an hour. After that, we will cut the cake. AND give you gifts!" Danny said. She laughed then nodded her head in excitement.

There were a few guests invited, it is a little party for only family and friends. Leila is now waiting for her parents to come home, she missed them so much!!!

It's been a week, her mother went to get her hometown along with Leila's father... She let them go and enjoy.

Now, they are coming back home for her birthday party. Danny's wife, Cara was starting Leila happy face. There was a hater in her eyes. But she didn't say it.

Cara was jealous of her and she always prays for her downfall. Her evil eye always catches Leila in trouble. Danny knows about his wife jealousy but he always asks her not to think negative. Danny wanted peace in his family. He wanted all of them to live happily. He loves and protects his sister, he makes his wife understand that Leila loves her...

But Cara's jealousy was igniting day by day. She wanted Danny to think only about her future.

Leila was unaware of Cara's jealousy.

Third-person p.o.v

Leila didn't know that her sister in law was so jealous of her, she was unaware of her agony towards herself. Leila was unable to understand the taunts in Cara's sweet tone, she was unable to catch the hint that Cara didn't like her... But Leila as a pure heart girl she was so innocent to feel the hate.

Leila love Cara so much! She considers her as her good friend and a sister without knowing the fire of jealousy burning in Cara's heart. Cara wants her out of their life. She doesn't want to share the concern of her husband with his family.

Danny got married to Cara three years ago but Cara didn't want to come and live with Danny's parents.

Cara was trying for a long time to settle back in her own country. She was trying to convince her husband to go with her but Danny didn't want to leave his family.

Cara didn't like Danny's family from the time she came here with him, she got married to Danny but she never accepted that Danny is living with his parents. She thinks that Leila got all the love and attention.

Danny tried to make her understand but Cara just ignored him. Now, she just wants Leila to disappear from their life. This party and celebrations! It was all making her so annoyed. She petitioned that it never happens again... But this time her evil wishes didn't go in vain, but they were granted and it was going to be the downfall of Leila so soon... The evil stares were going to eat her happiness and ruin her innocence. She was going to go on a journey of pain and suffering that will never end.

Everyone was enjoying this little happiness. The slow music was playing in the background. Cara and Anna were dancing and enjoying themselves.

Leila's eyes caught Cara standing far in a corner. She doesn't look happy. Leila got worried. She ran towards her then grabbed her hand. Cara gave her a look.

"Cara, what are you doing here? Come let's dance." Leila said with a smile.

"Leila, you enjoy. I don't feel like dancing." Cara said in a poison-laced tone.

"Why what happened? Are you fine?" Leila asked caring about her health.

"I think just a little headache. Don't worry! You go, enjoy your day..." She lied.

"Cara, I am so sorry. I think I will call the music off. You can go take rest." Leila said with a saddened expression. Cara smirked.

"Oh, Leila. No, No... I will be fine. I will just go into my room and take a rest. Don't worry. It's your day. You can enjoy it. AND if you will call off the party, you know your brother will be sad." Cara said looking towards her husband. Danny was watching her sister talking to Cara.

"Are you sure?" Leila asked. Cara nodded her head. She just wanted to go away from this party. She got it.

"Take a rest. I will send my brother back soon..." Leila said. Cara nodded her head then went towards her room.

"Little manipulative bitch!" She whispered starting Leila one more time, then closed the door of her room.

Leila went back to Anna with a sad smile on her face. Danny went towards her...

"What happened? Why did she leave? Anything wrong?" He asked.

"She is not feeling well. I think we should call off the party brother, you go and take care of her..." She said.

"No, my little sister. No way, this is your day. She will be fine. Now, smile and enjoy. Mom, Dad will be here soon..." He said. She smiles then hugged her brother.

"Thank you, Brother." Leila said. The time went by, it's been half an hour... But their parents didn't come back!

Danny was now worried, he was calling on his father mobile. But he was not answering. Anna's father was a close friend to Leila father. He was also trying to reach them but no one answered.

Leila had asked him so many times for her parents but Danny didn't know where they have gone. Anna and Leila were trying to call on Leila's phone, maybe they are out of coverage, maybe their phone batteries are dead.

But they have a charger in the car. This is not possible. Leila is trying to think of all the positive aspects. They are fine. Yes, they are fine. They will be home soon. She was giving herself hope.

The situation of Danny was also the same. He was parting for their safety.

Now, they both were worried waiting for their parents.

All the guests look at their tensed faces, they left their house to give them some space and time.

"I can not wait for more... I am going out to look for them..." Danny said. Leila nodded her head.

"Okay, brother you go. I will try to call them from here. If they came back I will inform you." She said with a shaking heart. Her face that was shining brightly with happiness is now clouded with frightened expressions.

Danny gets up from the sofa, he walks towards the front door to get out of the house. But, the mobile in his hand suddenly starts ringing. Leila ran towards him. Danny saw the screen shining with his father number.

"It's dad. Brother pick up." Leila said with a smile.

He sighed a breath of relief then attend the call.

"Hello!" He said.

"Yes, I am Danny. Who is there?" He asked; he didn't recognise the unfamiliar voice.

Leila was standing close to him hearing the slow voices coming from the phone speaker. Someone answer from the other side. Leila saw her brother face going in shock.

Danny's face turned pale as someone sucked all the blood from his body. His eyes start tearing up.

"What did you said?" He asked again. He wanted to confirm it. Maybe, he heard wrong. When the person again said the same thing, the phone dropped from his hand.

He looks towards Leila with an expression that shook Leila's heart.

"Brother, what happened? Who was it? Where are mom and dad?" Leila shook his shoulders. Her words were trembling.

Danny shook his head.

"No, it is not possible. It can not happen!" He said in a lost voice.

"Brother, you are scaring me. Please, tell me what happened?" Leila almost shouted.

"Leila..." He hugged her with his shaking hands.

"It was from the hospital. They got in an accident on the highway. They are saying both of them died on the spot." He said. Leila felt his voice coming from a deep dark pit. She doesn't understand a single world or maybe she understood it all. But her heart was not taking it.

"They asked us to collect dead bodies." Danny was crying so much. He was hugging her close but she was not hearing anything, the first words coming out from his mouth was enough to darken Leila's world.

Leila felt her heart sinking in deep black water from where she can never be able to get it back... Leila felt her head was pounding as someone was hitting it with a heavy hammer. She wanted to cry so much! She wanted to shout and stop her brother from saying these things... But she was not feeling anything. It felt as all her senses were frozen. She felt her eyes getting heavy, Leila was unable to bear this suffocation, she closed her eyes.

Danny panicked, Leila fainted in his arms. He shouted for help. The car comes out of her room hearing the screams of her husband. She saw Leila out of senses hanging in his arms...

*Third-person p.o.v

Leila was feeling as if it's the demise of her entity and the whole world was falling apart.

Those words from her brother snatched the light of her life, she didn't only lose her sensed but she lost a part of herself. Leila was unable to understand her feelings. She wants to cry, she wants to shout and grieve to let all the pain out from her heart but the tears were frozen in the lake of her eyes. The banks of this lake were iced as her heart was frozen. But if her heart is iced! Why is she feeling the hell in her heart? This burning to let go of her loved ones who too much to handle. She fainted three times, Anna was beside her... Cara was also taking care of her but she wanted her mother... Her mother whom embrace was snatched from her by fate.

Fate is not measurable but she didn't think that God will take her parents away from her... She never was worried about anything in her life. Her life was so perfect. But this storm destroyed everything, it took her happiness.

Leila would never be able to smile so heartily ever again... She was watching blankly all the people who were coming to give her condolences, what is happening? What is all this? The comfort of anyone is not good enough to make her understand.

She didn't know where was Danny. What was he doing? But she was watching these two coffin placed in front of her eyes.

These two casket boxes were going to bury these but thinking about it, she felt as her heart was smashed with a hammer. The two people in these boxes were her universes. The light of her life. She saw blankly towards Anna.

"Leila!" Anna was crying. She saw the warm tears floating down on her cheeks. Leila wanted the same, she wanted to hug her mother and cry. But she was nowhere...

"Anna, where is Danny?" She asked in a lost voice.

"Danny is outside. He is preparing for the..." Anna sobbed then stopped talking!

"For what? He went to take mom and dad. Where are they?" Leila asked her, Anna hugged Leila closely.

"Leila, please. I want you to cry. Don't conceal this pain inside." Anna said. Leila looks at her with stray eyes.

"Why are you saying this?" She asked.

"Why are all these people here? Why did we come here?" Leila was asking difficult questions from her best friend.

Anna didn't know how to make her understand. How to tell her that it's her parents funeral. Cara looks towards Leila and Anna. She came closer to them, she sat beside Leila.

"Leila, it's your parents funeral. Your brother is preparing for that... You have to be strong." Cara said. Leila looks towards her in shock.

"What are you saying? Are you gone insane!!! No, Cara, you are lying." Leila said. Anna was also looking at Cara with anger. How can she just say it like that? Didn't she know the condition of Leila? She is going through so much pain. Her parents died yesterday, Cara is such a careless bitch. Leila may not understand the behaviour of Cara. But Anna was seeing the real colour of Cara, she saw a glint of happiness in Cara's eyes.

Anna thought to tell Leila slowly. So, she comes out from this trauma. She comes out from the state of this shock.

But what Cara did make it worse.

"I am not lying. You have to accept it. It is the truth. Your parents died." Cara said.

Leila was watching her with utter shock, her eyes were teeing up.

"Anna, is she saying the truth?" Leila asked her friend. She wanted Anna to deny it. She wanted her to stay it's all a lie. Anna higher her tight then nodded her head.

Cara move up from the bench then walk away from them, Leila was now crying. She didn't know for how long but she was crying for hours... She was hiccuping due to continuously crying, she was feeling dizzy. Her eyes were are and the tears were dried on her cheeks. But now the salty water was not coming out... Anna gives her comfort, she gave her water but Leila didn't drink it.

After hours of her grieving, she saw her brother coming towards her, she stands up then run towards Danny. Leila hugged him. She didn't know if the frozen lake again melted, she cried... She cried like a little child.

Danny solaced with her, he was caressing her back to calm her down.

"They are gone brother, they left us." She said in a breaking tone.

"Yes, Leila. They left us alone." He said. Danny also wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes.

"But we have to be strong for them, Leila we have to do it. It is so difficult for me. But please, I want you to stand beside me. Our parents will rest in the peace of they saw their children doing their last rituals." He said. Leila sobbed. She was still amazed by the cruelness of fate.

One moment she was so happy as happiness

will never fade away from her life. And the sorrows will never enter her life and the next moment she was feeling as this sadness and sorrow is for eternity. She will never feel happiness again...

After the presence of her brother and crying for too long, Leila was a little calm down. Now it is time for the most difficult moment of her entire life. She was going to say goodbye to her parents.

Danny was also crying. All of them come out of the hall. They all gathered in the graveyard. The coffins were placed in the graves. Danny and Leila put the dirt on the graves...

They both hugged either and saw their parents going away... They were now sleeping peacefully under the burden of this dirt. All the people did all the rituals.

AND with a. a slow pace the time went by as everyone started going away... The crowd gathered there was faded. Now there was only Leila, Danny and Cara standing in there, Danny hugged both of them...

They were tired and this was a very difficult day. Leila didn't want to go back home. But no one can live here until it is permanent. So, Danny made her understand, all of them can back home. Leila with a broken heart and a tired body.

(On the other end of the City)

He was sitting on the office chair. It was a very busy day, he just finished a meeting. It is so difficult to manage business and studies at the same time... Damien looks at the clock. It was ticking and the time was 10:00 pm. He stretched his arms then put his head on the backrest of the chair. He closed his eyes.

"Oh, Dad. I wish you were here. I hope you will get better soon..." He thought then heaved a deep sigh!

It was time to go home. He was so exhausted.

Damien opened his eyes, he made his composure back to his business self when he heard a knock on his door.

"Yes, come in." He said. Damien saw his assistant Liang coming in...

"Sir, it's too late. Should we go home now?" He asked.

Damien nodded his head.

"Yes, you go home. Thank you, Liang or all the help." Damien said. Liang smiled.

"Sir, it's my work. Aren't you going home?" He asked.

"I have to complete an assignment. I will go home late. Have a good night Liang." He said.

Liang nodded his head.

"Have a good night, boss." Liang thought about his boss. This boy will sit here and complete his university assignment. He is so hardworking. Liang smiled then exited the office.

Damian gain turned on his laptop and start searching for the topic of his assignment. He has to submit it tomorrow, Life is not so easy for him also...
