"Marry me," he said, his deep voice with a hint of command. "Are you talking to me?" Mia asked, her eyes darting around the exclusive office, then back at him, and her nose flared up in disbelief. "You're sick! The nerves you have to abduct me here. And this?" "You owe me," his grey eyes bore into hers, his hands tucked in his suit pants. Mia glared at him, "I'll never marry you Xavier Singh. You're arrogant! And rude! And grum.." "Your mother's surgery bills," he cut her off. "I'll take care of it" Her lips clamped shut at his words and her eyes widened. ******** Mia Lopez, a 24-year old aspiring actress, will do anything to get into the entertainment industry, without using her body. Her plans were simple, "Get famous, rich and save my sick mom." After an hate-at-first meet with Xavier Singh, CEO of X-World Entertainment, Mia will get married to the arrogant billionaire. Chapter 1 The hell do you think you are

"Nothing comes without a price, Ms Lopez." He said in a low voice, flashing her a cocky grin.

"Are you willing to do anything to get the lead role?"

"Yes, I am."

Mia hoped he wouldn't say the words she had been familiar with over the years.

She chewed on her bottom lips nervously, and watched as the man leaned back on his plush chair, and Mia could feel his hungry gaze feeding on her delicate curves.

"Just one night with me.. Mia Lopez."

He dropped the words she had been scared of, and her head banged.

Not again!

"A night with you?" she spat, disgusted. "You're sick!"

The man's annoying laughter filled her ears, and she grabbed her bag, feeling suffocated in his office.

After trying so hard to show him what she got during the audition, this was all he could ask for, just like others.

"This is a lifetime opportunity. You won't want to miss it."

Mia glared at the slightly older man and he pushed a written piece of note to her.

Her eyes darted to the note and the steamy coffee on his desk.

"Sure, I won't want to miss this opportunity, Mr... Martinez." That was the name his assistant had called him earlier.

However, she picked up the piece of note, and shredded it to pieces.

"What the..." His eyes flashed with anger and his lips pursed in a thin line. "Bitch!"

Bitch? Mia lost it.

She threw her leg over the table and grabbed his collar forcefully.

"I am not some whore you can mess with, you dirty pig!"

"Let me go!" he grunted, struggling with her grip, but Mia wasn't done yet.

Picking up the cup of coffee, she emptied the hot liquid on his face and Mr Martinez let out a loud scream, piercing the walls of his spacious office.

She pushed him off when his assistant ran in, and she stormed out of his office hurriedly.

Just when she thought this time will be different.

"Shit!" she cursed, rage ripping through her body.

She hurried into an exclusive elevator, ignoring the warning that read, "Out of Limits".

Mia tapped her feet impatiently, desperate to leave here as soon as possible.

Her mind raced over all that happened.

X-World Entertainment has always been her dream over the years and no one could explain how excited she was, when she walked in through the large glassy door for this audition.

She had felt like one of her favorite celebrity, Harper Hernandez. The image of her appearing on TV and receiving the award for the best actress of the year had played in her head.

She wanted to make her sick mother proud. Her hopes of paying for her mother's surgery bills had been high but now, her dreams were shattered once again.

The elevator dinged open and Mia bumped into a hard wall, but there was no wall.

Wincing in pain and frustration, she slammed her fists on the hard and sturdy chest of the masculine figure.

"Watch where you're going!" she snapped, but he didn't bulge.

Immediately sensing the powerful aura around him, Mia raised her hazel eyes to meet a pair of piercing grey eyes boring into hers.

"You trespassed," his deep voice made her shiver.

"Excuse me?"

"How dare you?" He looked at her with disdain and his voice laced with arrogance.

Mia twitched her lips, recognizing the CEO of X-World Entertainment, Xavier Singh. Heir of the Singh family, the wealthiest in California.

"How dare you bump into me?" Mia blurted, surprised at her own outburst.

His blank eyes flickered with something unreadable, then with a snap of his long and slender fingers, men in suits advanced toward Mia, grabbing hold of her.

"Take her away."

"Who the hell do you think you are? Let go of me!" Mia shrieked, struggling to wriggle out of their strong grip.

With her shrill voice piercing the air and attracting stares, the bodyguards threw Mia out of the huge, magnificent building.

Mia cursed and yelled, scrambling to pick her bag and other contents strewn on the floor.

Her cheeks flushed in embarrassment, as she glanced around. All attention fixed on her and she could hear the murmurs and giggles.

"What are y'all looking at?" she barked, and they diverted their gazes away from her.

Mia sighed exasperatedly and ruffled her disheveled chestnut brown hair.

Hastening her steps, she flagged down a taxi. "How can he be so mean?" She bit her lips, trying to fight back her tears.

She would never shed a tear for assholes like Xavier Singh and Mr Martinez.

*

The taxi stopped in front of her house and Mia paid the driver, taking slow steps into the house.

Her eyes locked with her mother's when she pushed the door open.

"Mia."

"Mom." She quickened her steps, wrapping her arms around her mother in a tight embrace.

"What happened to you?"

"I guess this didn't go well," Tammy said from the couch, watching Mrs Lopez caress Mia's hair fondly.

"He wanted to sleep with me."

Mia sat down beside Tammy, "And I can't.." her voice croaked and Tammy pulled her sister into a hug.

"It's okay, big sis."

"Why aren't you in school, Tammy?"

"Mom had a seizure, I had to stay with her." Tammy said and Mia sighed softly, looking up at her mother.

"It wasn't serious, Mia. I'm fine." Mrs Lopez assured her, entering into the kitchen.

"Mom isn't fine!" Tammy cut in. "And she's running out of medication."

Mia bit her lips hard, and stood up.

"Where are you going?" Mrs Lopez walked out of the kitchen, her voice soft and worried.

"I'll be back, mom. Tammy, stay with her."

Tammy nodded, and Mia walked out, slamming the door behind her.

[X-World Entertainment]

Xavier's sharp jawline hardened for the umpteenth time.

"What did you find about her?"

"She was part of the selected list for the audition, Sir."

Silas said, dropping a file in front of his boss. "L-Galaxy Entertainment released a movie, just the same date as ours."

Xavier's lips curled into a dark smirk. What was in that fucking head of Lucas? His brother will always be his shadow in everything, no matter how hard he tries.

"Get me my coffee."

"Yes, Sir." Silas bowed, and strutted out of the office.

Xavier leaned back on his chair and shut his eyes, his mind blank.

Then, her fierce words replayed in his mind. "Who the hell do you think you are?"

Feisty. He thought.

His eyes fluttered open when his phone rang and his gaze darkened.

"Father," he breathed out.

"Come to the mansion, tomorrow."

Mateo Singh's voice boomed and Xavier's brow furrowed.

Why does his father want to see him?

Chapter 2 Bring a wife.

*THE NEXT DAY*

"Shit!" Mia banged her fists on the blaring alarm clock.

With a loud groan, she mumbled some words and snuggled under her duvet for comfort. Can't she get a little more sleep?

"Mia," her mother's voice approached her room and her door swung open.

"Good gracious!" Mrs Lopez exclaimed, taking in the awful state of her daughter's room in disbelief.

In a second, she yanked the duvet off Mia's body and Mia felt a loud smack on her ass.

"Mom! What was that for?" She cried in pain, rubbing her aching butt.

But when her eyes darted around her untidy room, Mia gave her mother a nervous smile.

"What have you been doing these past weeks?"

"I've been busy, mom."

"Busy?"

Mrs Lopez sent Mia a disapproving glare, picking up a comb lying carelessly on the floor. Mia knew what was coming next.

"Mom!"

"You should learn from your sister!"

"I'm sorry!"

Mia ducked the comb thrown at her, and her legs tangled with a heap of clothes and she wobbled, falling into a pack of opened boxes.

"Ouch!" she groaned, scurrying to the bathroom.

Mrs Lopez sighed, closing the door after her.

*

"I'm late!" Mia exclaimed, sprinting into the kitchen in her black top and baggy jeans, as she packed her hair in a messy bun.

"Did you see the news, Mia?" Tammy looked up from her phone, a plate of cereal in front of her.

"What news? And where's mom?"

"Goodness! Mia, it's everywhere. Mom left to get groceries." Tammy's brown eyes were worried.

Mia raised a brow, fishing out her phone and she scoffed when she saw the notifications pop up on her screen.

"This isn't fair."

"You didn't tell mom you were thrown out of X-World."

"I didn't want her to get worried." Mia snapped.

A picture of her on the floor with her disheveled hair was trending.

Wannabe? Why will netizens have such misconceptions about her.

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Mia bit her lips.

"You don't seem fine. Oh, I'm late for school. Love yah!" Tammy pecked her cheeks and Mia's eyes widened when she saw the time.

"Oh God!" she shrieked, and grabbed an apple, bolting out of the house.

She worked part-time jobs, and the cafe was across the street. Mr Hudson, her boss would kill her if she goes late again.

*

[CAFE SHOP]

"Mr Hudson has an important guest in his office, a bit of luck on your late ass," Grayson's voice laced with mockery when Mia joined him at the counter.

"I'm not in the mood, Gray," Mia sneered and he chuckled, flashing her his cute dimples.

"You're on the news."

"That wasn't.. me" Mia said through clenched teeth.

"You weren't here yesterday. Your hair gave you out," he grinned and she rolled her eyes.

"Fine!"

"Are you okay?"

"Why do you care, Gray?"

She was losing it already. Grayson was her colleague at the cafe shop, and he knew of her dream to become a celebrity. They have always been on each other's neck at the slightest moment.

Grayson stared at her for a minute, before going over to take orders.

As Mia tried to get back to work, her phone rang, she glanced at the caller and shoved her phone back into her pocket.

"Isabella won't let me hear the end of it."

[SINGH'S MANSION]

After an hour of tense silence in the grand dining hall, with the clattering of cutlery against plates, Mateo Singh, a sturdy man with handsome older features, cleared his throat.

"Xavier," he started and Lucas groaned loudly.

"Why must it always be Xavier?"

Xavier raised his blank eyes, his domineering aura filling the room. "Yes, father."

"Calm down, mon peach." Xavier's step mother, Camille Singh, smiled lovingly at Lucas, before giving Xavier a hateful glare.

Lucas' wife, Mitchell, sat beside him, eating quietly with her eyes lowered.

"I feel it's the right time to hand over the reins of Singh Empire to you," Mateo Singh continued and Xavier lifted his eyebrow. Finally, his father was changing his mind.

Camille Singh gasped in shock, her face contorting in disbelief. The atmosphere thickened as Lucas banged his fist on the table, startling his wife. "How can you do this, dad?"

"Lucas!" Mateo raised his large hands, his voice etched with irritation.

Xavier remained quiet.

"Do not call my name, dad. You're letting this illegitimate son of yours take over!"

"Stop it, mon peach," Camille cautioned Lucas and turned to her husband. "Darling, what are you saying?"

"No one says another word," Mateo's voice turned cold, and the table fell silent, but Lucas blood boiled in rage. This news was unexpected. He has waited patiently all these years, with thoughts of taking over the empire. His father had never loved Xavier. Why will he hand over the family greatest wealth to him, leaving him with nothing? Lucas hands trembled in fury but Mitchell squeezed his hand gently.

"You really can't do this to your son, darling." Camille protested, trying to keep her cool.

"No more words, I say!" And she clamped her mouth shut.

"Xavier is my son, too. He has proven himself worthy. But Lucas, what has he done except being his brother's shadow?" Mateo Singh's voice was harsh and cold and Lucas turned beet red.

"I'm glad you made the right choice, father." Xavier's deep voice dripped with a hint of arrogance and mockery, and Lucas shot him a malicious glare.

Mateo nodded in approval, "But, on one condition will my empire be handed to you."

"What's that?"

"I need to be sure of an heir, Xavier. Bring a wife in less than a month."

"What?" A loud gasp spread across the table and Xavier's chiseled features hardened.

Chapter 3 Hot and sexy King of entertainment.

His father was asking him to get married?

"You do not tell me what to do," Xavier replied curtly, his expression unreadable and Mateo let out a low, deep sigh while Camille flared up.

"Darling, why are you doing this? Lucas has a wife already."

"Xavier doesn't even have a girlfriend!" Lucas voice was filled with hatred, and he gripped Mitchell's comforting hand tight.

Mitchell raised her head and shivered when her eyes locked with Xavier's piercing gaze.

'Why is he staring at me?' she thought and avoided his eyes.

When the atmosphere remained tense, Mateo's face turned stoic as he spoke with finality, "If Xavier doesn't get married, the empire will be given to Lucas."

[X-WORLD ENTERTAINMENT]

Xavier shut his eyes, brushing his tongue lightly on his thin, attractive lips.

"You've worked so hard to please your father. You've gotta do what he says, man."

"I do not have to get married," Xavier said calmly, and his best friend, Jayden, chuckled.

"Chill, man. If you don't want a woman to stick with you for the rest of your life, you can hire some bimbo." Jayden drank from his wine glass and Xavier's eyes fluttered open.

"I do not trust women."

"You've got Harper."

"She means nothing to me."

Jayden dipped his brows in amusement.

"At this moment, she means something. She has been loyal, Xav. Don't be so rigid."

A cold glare from Xavier caused Jayden to burst out laughing.

"You have got work to do. You sure want to lose your job."

"You can't fire me! I'll do that first, Xav."

Xavier raised his thick brow, and his grey eyes went blank.

After dropping his wine glass, Jayden dragged his feet to the door, "I'll send Harper to you, now." With a knowing wink, Jayden took his exit.

*

"I'm so glad you need me right now, honey."

The translucent glassy door pushed open and Harper Hernandez, an actress in X-World Entertainment walked in.

She swayed her hips to Xavier, who stood at the window, hands tucked in his pockets and his expressionless gaze fixed outside the city.

Harper wrapped her arms around him and leaned on his broad back, his powerful aura sending a tingling sensation down her core.

"Get off me, Harper," his voice was captivating, yet rude, but Harper didn't mind.

Being close to Xavier Singh was a wish every woman in California hoped for.

She pouted, and released him. Pushing her blonde hair backwards, she bit her lips seductively, "Why do you want to see me?"

"Let's get married. In two weeks."

Harper's almond-shaped eyes widened as her hands flew to her lips.

"Oh my God."

"Do you have a problem with that?" Xavier's piercing eyes bore into her, she shook her head vehemently, and her face broke into smiles.

"I'm so happy, Xavier. At least I... I knew you were mine in the first place."

She made to hug him, but his icy stare made her retreat.

"Don't get over the moon, Harper. This remains a secret.. Get out."

She gulped, "I'm.. I'm sorry," then slowly took another step backwards, before leaving his office, with her face lit up in excitement.

*

"Mia!"

Mia sprang out of bed at the piercing scream that rang in her ears and she fell on her butt.

"Ouch," she glared at her best friend, Isabella.

"Did you get scared?"

She ignored her, getting to her feet, "What are you doing in my room?"

"You weren't taking my calls."

"I was busy, Belle." Mia rubbed her ass, and flung herself on the bed beside Isabella. Rubbing her still sleepy eyes, she yawned tiredly and Isabella's forehead creased in a tight frown.

"You're never too busy for me, Mia."

"I.. I was.."

"Why were you kicked out of the audition? Did you screw it up?" Isabella paused, "Don't tell me you did something crazy."

Mia scratched the back of her neck, her disheveled hair falling over her face, "I didn't do anything, Belle. First, the pervert wanted to have sex with me like others."

Isabella gasped softly, and her big brown eyes flashed with anger. "Tell me you kicked his ass!"

Mia chuckled, amused at her best friend's scrunched up face. Isabella has been her best friend since college and they had always stood up for each other. Hearing her fume over what Mr Martinez did gave her a warm feeling.

"I sure did, but that wasn't why I got kicked out."

Isabella knitted her brows in confusion, "Why?"

"I had a clash with..." Mia paused, feeling the rage building up within her as she remembered that day. His piercing grey eyes, that seemed to bore into her soul and his cold, deep voice. "Xavier Singh," she blurted and Isabella screamed.

"What!"

Mrs Lopez came rushing into the room, "Is everything okay, girls?" Her eyes scanned the ladies worriedly and Mia dashed toward her mother, scared that her mother's heart might act up out of panic.

"We are fine, mom. Breath."

"We're sorry, Aunt."

After Mrs Lopez left, Mia shot a glare at Isabella, whose hands covered her mouth in shock.

"You met Xavier Singh! Oh kill me," she said, her voice in hush whispers and Mia frowned tightly.

"I literally said he kicked me out!"

"Tell me, how did it feel when he looked at you? Oh I bet he's as hot as he looks on TV. Did you get to touch him? Did he..."

"Bella Moore!" Mia snapped, clearly annoyed and Bella pouted.

"Don't give me that look, Mia. Who in the world doesn't get excited after meeting the hot and sexy king of entertainment?"

Mia rolled her eyes, walking to her closet.

"He's not sexy and hot as you claim."

Bella's lips parted disbelievingly, and she snarled, "Take back your words."

Mia let out a chuckle, pulling out her wears. She had to get to the pizza shop early.

"Oh my God!" Bella exclaimed, staring at her phone wide-eyed, and Mia turned to face her.

"What?"

"My Xavier is getting married!"

[L-Galaxy Entertainment]

Lucas smashed the glass of wine he was holding against the TV, it's shattering sound echoing in his office as it broke into pieces.

His eyes burned with anger as he grabbed his car keys and got out of his company. He kept hitting his fist on the steering wheel as the news replayed in his head.

"THE CEO OF X-WORLD ENTERTAINMENT AND CALIFORNIA'S HEARTHROB, XAVIER SINGH ANNOUNCES HIS ENGAGEMENT. FIANCEE WILL BE REVEALED SOON."

Xavier might try to hide his soon-to-be bride, but Lucas knew who she was, and he was going to teach him a lesson.

His car skidded to a halt in front of her mansion, and Lucas slammed the door close.

"Where's Harper?" Lucas growled when he stormed in.

"She's.. she's in her room, Sir," a maid said, bowing in fear.

'Perfect!' Lucas smirked, climbing up the stairs. He pushed her room door violently, Harper sat in front of her large mirror, applying make-up on her face.

Her jaw dropped when their eyes locked. "Lu.. Lucas," she stuttered.

Lucas took quick, powerful strides to her, pulling her to him. Before she could say a word, he slammed his lips on hers.
