"Who's the latest bride in town?!" Alyssa spoke into her phone she was using as a fake microphone.
Sapphire palmed her forehead. "Oh geez."
Alyssa pointed the phone towards Sapphire.
"Sapphire Smith!"
Sapphire raised her head and looked around the mall.
Lines of clothes filled the section. Few people were in the wedding dress section, and those few people were glancing at them. Probably thinking a bunch of weirdos-no, mad people came to shop for a wedding dress.
"You're embarrassing me."
"You? You call this an embarrassment? Hold on." She turned towards the people. "Hey! Everyone! Look who's the-"
Sapphire sprang to her feet and covered Alyssa's mouth with her palm.
"Tone it down, you loud psycho," she whispered, flashing the people who were looking at them a fake, all-good smile.
"Free me, Sapph," Alyssa muffled.
"Until you promise me that you're gonna keep your screams to yourself. This isn't your home where you go all crazy. For the sake of the upcoming wedding, this is a mall." The way the sentence came out, one would think she was explaining it to a little child.
"I'm gonna keep quiet," Alyssa muffled.
"You sure?"
She crossed two fingers and pointed them towards Sapphire.
Sapphire didn't want to trust her, but that's their symbol of 'I promise.' She released her mouth.
"Mad bitch." Alyssa clicked her tongue. "I'mma have to bite your hand next time."
Sapphire threw herself on the sofa. "Can't let my bestie ruin my name before I get married."
"Get ya lazy ass up. The wedding dress won't pay for itself."
Sapphire got her phone. "Working, Jack, no play makes Sapphire a lazy girl."
"Sitting all day and calling Wilson makes Alyssa bored."
"Jealous freak," Sapphire hummed, dialing Wilson's number, saved as My Soul.
Sapphire looked at her with a fallen face.
"What did he say?" Alyssa raised her index finger. "No, don't tell me. He didn't answer."
"He hung up."
"Well... I'm not surprised. Got the looks, yet a workaholic. You better pray he doesn't turn your big night into a conference meeting."
Sapphire pocketed her phone. "I'm not bothered. He still makes time for me."
"You don't know." Alyssa tucked her hands into her pants. "Won't be surprised when you need a good dick and he isn't available."
"Not everyone is gonna be a sex freak like you," Sapphire countered.
Alyssa removed her hands from her pants. "We all have the right to have fun, and mine is dicks. Thick and fat... I want 'em all."
"What do I do with you, Lyssa?" Sapphire said with an 'I'm sick of you' expression. "This is a mall!"
"Know I didn't study law, but I know there isn't anywhere in the law that states I can't talk about my sex life anywhere."
Sapphire palmed her forehead and gave up. Arguing with Alyssa, your loss. She'll always do anything to prove her public display of filth is worth it.
"You ready for the shopping now?"
"I'm standing, you're sitting. Who's more ready?"
"Gosh!" Sapphire stood.
The owner walked up to them.
"The latest bridal gown has arrived. Would you like to take a look?"
"Exposing cup? Tight waist? Great ass view? Does it tick all the boxes?" Alyssa said, scrolling through her phone.
The owner raised her brows, staring at both ladies in confusion.
Sapphire faked a chuckle. "Ignore her. We'd like to see it."
The owner nodded. "Come with me." She left.
Sapphire turned to Alyssa and threw her a death glare.
"I only asked a question. What's with the glare?"
"Who asks questions like that? Did you see the confusion on the woman's face?"
"It's your wedding we're talking about, but I'm the most bothered." Alyssa hung her arm around Sapphire's neck. "Picture this." She moved her palm in Sapphire's face as if opening a dimension.
"In your attire that highlights your curves. So sexy that I won't even remember breathing. Wilson standing at the altar. Don't you want that when you look at his pants, you'll see his dick bulging hard?"
Sapphire quickly shook Alyssa's arm off her. "You don't think about anything else." She began heading towards the direction the mall owner took.
"Hey." Alyssa trailed after her, still scrolling through her phone. "Have you heard the news?"
"What news?"
"Your fiancé's elder brother returned."
Sapphire stopped walking. "Wilson has an elder brother?"

[7PM]
The streets of Las Vegas buzzed heavily. Unlike any other street that gets quiet as nighttime reached, Las Vegas always looked like the day had just started.
Crazy lights were stacked in the nooks and corners of the road, making it look like the moonlight was useless in the area.
Cars were moving up and down the streets, and amongst them was a dark grey Lamborghini Aventador. It rode smoothly down the road, passing many shops and houses. It got to a particular one, and the car slowed down.
"Would you like to go in, sir?" The driver wound down the window to the back.
The person turned to the building. His hair covered his forehead, revealing only his deep blue eyes. Those eyes locked on the building as he scanned it for some seconds.
His long finger tapped the window bar with slow precision. "Drive on."
The window wound back up in slow motion until it closed, his deep blue eyes reflecting brightly on it.
The car increased its speed and continued down the street.
Not less than fifty minutes later, it arrived in front of a building.
"Sir, we're here."
The person at the back shifted his gaze to the building-blinding lights. The next thing that caught his attention was the engraved name at the top of the gate.
DeVille Empire.
The gate opened on its own after scanning the car and the people inside. It's an automated gate that doesn't need a gateman. It's set up to recognize the regular people who go in and out of the house. The gateman has his house beside the gate, watches the gate, but never opens it. Lucky him.
The Lamborghini drove into the compound, taking about three minutes before it got to the castle built in the name of a house.
Without turning off the car engine, the driver came out of the car and rushed to the side.
He opened the door, and the person waited for a few minutes before stepping out.
Immediately, the breeze brushed his skin. He felt it. The luxuriousness of the air. It still had that usual scent.
Money.
Unlike the lights that blinded the place, giving off colorful vibes, his clothes contrasted with them. Black well-ironed slacks, with a black shirt tucked into his pants. The sleeves were rolled up to his mid-arm.
He only started walking in when the driver drove the car to the garage.
The workers instantly stopped what they were doing, everybody's attention going to him.
They all bowed to him as he walked past them, his ears catching their tiny whispers.
"Who's that?"
"Don't tell me you can't recognize him. Look at those blue eyes."
He stopped, and his voice came out so calm and controlled.
"Gramps Marco?"
"In the study," one of the helpers replied, everybody's eyes widening at the confirmation of who he was.
"Only one person calls him that."
"He's Sir Tristan?"
"He's back."
He took the stairs, one step at a time, looking like he was walking so slowly, while in reality, the stairs were very long. There's an elevator, but he always chooses the stairs. Anytime.
The more helpers he passed, the more they stopped what they were doing. One doing the cleaning slipped.
His calm-looking blue eyes looked up at the nameplate above a huge brown door.
Old Marco DeVille.
Taking a minute of his time, he stared at it before placing his palm on the biometric scanner.
Scan successful.
The door creaked open on its own, and he waited for it to fully open before walking in.
The first thing he noticed was the brown mahogany table, the light, the stacks of documents on top, and the man sitting behind the table. He was going through one of the documents. Next were the shelves that lined up and the brown color of the room. Not a single change, except the brown got thicker.
"You didn't remove my biometrics?" He announced his presence because, if anything, he knew the man was aware.
"Should I have?" The man closed the document, then looked up.
Nobody talked again. The room was thick with silence as both men scanned each other, noting how they had changed after so many years.
"Welcome back home, Tristan."
Tristan's face softened a bit as he walked close to the empty chair and sat.
He looked at the man's face, his eyes noticing the few grey hairs in his hair.
"Age still hasn't reached you, Gramps Marco."
The man laughed a bit, Tristan catching sight of his teeth. Still complete and white.
"I was waiting for you. Would you have liked seeing me old and weak? Your Gramps is still strong."
"I don't doubt that," Tristan replied and checked the time.
"Are you sleeping here?"
"I came here on your insistence."
Marco's lips lifted. "It's been sixteen years, and you didn't consider returning for once."
"I'm here now. Shouldn't that matter?"
Marco cleared his throat, his brown eyes hovering over Tristan, a look which Tristan quietly recognized. "You look different...calmer."
"Isn't it what the DeVille's wanted?" Tristan replied, calmly.
"I get it," Marco's lips stretched. "And I like it."
"Still keeping your hair long?"
"I'll get it cut after the wedding." He adjusted his position, preparing to stand up. "I will get going."
"It's your younger brother's wedding eve tomorrow," Marco said.
"Isn't that why you insisted I come over?" He stood.
"The rest will arrive shortly."
"We'll meet soon." He began leaving.
"Tristan," Marco called.
He stopped without turning back.
"The reason I called you back is for the wedding," he paused. "It's your younger brother's wedding the day after-it won't happen without you there."
Tristan kept a blank face, letting his words sink in before responding.
"It's the family's youngest child's wedding. Why won't I be there?"
Sapphire's eyes danced with emotions as she admired her wedding gown.
It's the wedding eve today, and tomorrow, she's gonna change from Smith to DeVille. Excited, nervous, and silently wishing things don't go wrong.
She spent the whole day with Alyssa and decided to spend the night in her room, admiring her things one last time.
She took the gown to her nose and dragged in a long breath, the soft flowery scent flooding her nerves.
Closing the wardrobe, she jumped on the bed and cross-legged.
Fishing her phone from under the pillow, she opened her voice chat with Wilson.
"I can't wait for you to become mine."
She blushed hard, speaking into the camera.
"Me too. I. Love. You." She typed and sent it, watching the marks tick two.
Excitement bubbled in her chest, knowing he's online.
She waited.
One.
Two.
No reply.
Her smile faltered a bit, but she forced it back, understanding the reason behind it.
Wilson is a workaholic.
A text notification popped up.
With heavy excitement, thinking it was Wilson's, she clicked it without waiting to check.
"Yeah... right there... destroy that pussy... It's all yours. Fucking yours!"
The phone slipped from her hand, her brows etching in confusion as her ears recognized the voice.
"You feel that, bitch?"
Sapphire picked up the phone and looked at the sender.
She heaved a tired sigh, seeing the sender details.
Alyssa.
"That's Wilson eating your damn pussy."
The video ended, and Sapphire dialed her number.
"What do I do with you?"
"You can thank me for sending you a perfect clip of me fucking."
From the background, Sapphire could hear the sound of skin slapping and heavy breaths exchanging.
"You shot this now?"
"When else... yeah... you ain't a complete badass, so I'm only giving you my-"
Sapphire hung up before she could complete her filthy statement, smiles blooming all over her face.
Before the smiles could last, another text came, this time from greedy Dad.
"Make sure nothing happens tomorrow. The wedding must happen at all costs."
She kept her phone on the bedside table and lay on the bed.
Pulling the duvet over her chest, she closed her eyes, trying to catch some sleep, but her heart refused to slow down.
Thinking it was because of the wedding, she noticed her hands trembling under the duvet.
"Tomorrow should just get over."

[MORNING, GRACE CATHEDRAL]
Months after planning, the awaited day had arrived. New bonds would be formed, families would grow stronger, and businesses would strengthen. In the business world, weddings aren't only for the union of lovers, but the coming together of two companies to grow stronger, and in this case, the DeVilles and Smiths were hours away from forming the biggest alliance in the business world.
A black BMW decorated with balloons and flowers was parked miles away. The bride's family's car.
"Are you nervous?" Theresa Smith asked, arranging Sapphire's hair.
"I'm fine," Sapphire mumbled, staring outside the window.
They were currently occupying the third parking space.
Like every other businessman's wedding, most weddings aren't about love. It's all about business. Politics. The gains.
She could see so many business associates of Wilson's, her father's associates, and more people whom she was sure came to find their way into the DeVilles' good books.
Alyssa nudged her back to the present. "Can't wait to see your fiancé? Mm?"
"Don't blame me if you can't find your mouth one day."
"What? You mean the video?" Alyssa feigned innocence. "You are blessed with an amazing friend like me who would give you her free sex video rather than allow you-"
"Gosh, Lys, we're at the church, for God's sake."
"Now you're seeing what I go through," Sapphire replied.
"What?" Alyssa shrugged, leaning close to Sapphire's ear. "I've prepared the perfect gift for you."
Sapphire faced her. "It's strange, but I don't wanna think 'bout it. You're not normal. Anything from you is always off."
Alyssa hushed her up. "Don't talk about it when it hasn't arrived."
"Mom, where's Dad?" Sapphire asked.
"He's making sure he gets that contract. You know how he is," Theresa replied, her eyes travelling over Sapphire's shoulder.
"The groom's family has arrived."
Both girls followed her gaze.
"Wow, Tracy is lit," Alyssa complimented absentmindedly.
"Were you gonna expect less? She's a DeVille," Sapphire replied, watching the three family members go inside.
"I'm a Gifford, but I can look lit if I want."
"No one is forcing you."
"It's time to go in, you two."
Sapphire looked around the place, trying to see if she'd spot her father, but there was no sign of him.
"Father isn't here yet."
"You aren't gonna let the old man stall your wedding," Alyssa replied, doing a quick touch-up on Sapphire's gown. "If it's for walking you down the altar, I'll gladly do it. The man might be trying to seal a deal with Old Marco."
"Old Marco arrived before the rest of the family members," Theresa said.
"Then, he's stranded. Ion know," Alyssa said, making sure to keep the energy alive.
Sapphire's face fell, but she managed to wear a smile as they all got down from the car.
Theresa pulled the veil down over her face, while Alyssa handed her the bouquet.
"Go make yourself Wilson's," Alyssa whispered, holding Sapphire by the hand.
Sapphire flashed her mom a smile, the three of them walking into the church.
Theresa walked up to Old Marco, and after exchanging some pleasantries, she went to the rest of the family members.
"Where is your husband?" Mrs. DeVille asked.
Theresa gulped, forcing a smile back on. "He's attending to something."
"A man who isn't present at his daughter's wedding," Tracy scoffed, checking her manicured nails. "What a joke of a wedding."
"Tracy," Mr. DeVille cautioned. "Manners."
Tracy rolled her eyes and fixed them on the couple at the altar.
Alyssa had that sweet smile as she released Sapphire's hand.
"Don't you dare think of putting on a sad face," she murmured into Sapphire's ear before going back to her seat.
Sapphire nodded, a bright smile appearing on her face as she saw Wilson's face up close.
Her heart skipped countless beats, different waves of excitement and emotions swirling within her.
"You look so beautiful," Wilson leaned in and whispered, drawing out the blush she'd been trying to keep in.
"Thank you," she whispered back.
Immediately, the lights dimmed for the guests. The only visible people were Sapphire, Wilson, and the priest officiating the marriage. The dimmed light gave off a fairy-tale wedding, and Sapphire grew ten times happier. Her father's absence disappeared from her mind.
"Did you do this?" she asked.
"I know how much you love the fairy-tale princess wedding."
Redness flooded Sapphire's cheeks. Thankfully for the veil.
"Priest?" Wilson noticed the priest hadn't started officiating the wedding.
"Old Marco's orders," the priest answered, holding the Bible.
"Old..." Wilson trailed off, his eyes searching for Marco.
The door creaked open, and the shadow of someone reflected at the door.
Everybody's eyes went to the door, following the man until he took a chair at the back.
Wilson's eyes went back to Old Marco, and he could see the old man giving the priest the sign to start the wedding.
His brain clicked, and he squinted through the dimmed light. He knew. No one else could make Old Marco delay the wedding except Tristan.
Sapphire's eyes were also on the man, and it was the voice of the priest that called her back.
He cleared his throat. "Does anyone have a strong reason why this couple shouldn't be together?"
Silence.
--
"By the holy matrimony and the power vested in me, I now pronounce you both husband and wife."
"You may now kiss your bride."
Sapphire's heart skipped. Threads of sweat appeared on her forehead beneath the veil that suddenly felt too suffocating. The bouquet started trembling in her hand.
Alyssa's stomach dropped. For the first time since today, worry and fear were written on her face.
Theresa's face went cold, her eyes flashing with sadness.
Wilson began lifting the veil.
Sapphire's heart raced at an abnormal rate. The church suddenly closed in on her. Her breath grew heavy when the veil completely left her face.
Her eyes met Wilson's.
He came closer to her. Her face turned pale, and her breathing increased.
The whispers in the hall caught her attention.
"Kiss her already!"
"Why is she looking like that?"
"Does she have a mouth disease? She looks scared."
Everyone's attention was now on them, even the ones who came specifically for the connections and initially acted nonchalant.
"I understand," Wilson whispered, flashing her an 'I got this' smile.
"Thank you for making me a part of your life," he smiled, then faced the guests, still wearing that warm smile. "We'll skip the kissing part."
Gasps broke out.
He didn't let it get to him. "My wifey here is a shy one. Don't let her face deceive you. She's shy in public, but behind the door-" he winked. "If you know what I mean."
"That's more like it!" Alyssa stood, jamming her hands together.
Soon, everybody joined her, commending the lovely words and the newlyweds.
"Thank you," Sapphire said, elated.
"It's my duty to protect you from now on."
Rose petals fell on the couple, more people clapping for them, with Alyssa's voice seeming to be the loudest.
Sapphire smiled, her love for Wilson doubling with how he handled the situation perfectly.
She saw the proud look on her mom's face, the crazy look on Alyssa's face, but nowhere could her dad be found.
She felt somebody's gaze on her. Not soft, neither normal. It was deep. She wished to ignore it, but her eyes passed through the thousands of people sitting, thousands of smiling faces, going straight to the back.
Through the dimmed light, her eyes met the gaze. Deep blue eyes that didn't need to announce themselves before getting noticed.
Sapphire exhaled. "You've got this." She tried convincing herself with encouraging words, but she knew within her that if they were to award the pathological liar of the year, she'd come first.
Standing in front of the mirror, she admired the red lingerie she was putting on. Tiny thongs that barely covered her pussy. Sexy lacy red fringe danced around the edges, not doing much to cover the pussy, but a little bit better compared to the thong. The upper part had the same lacy straps, partially covering her stomach, and leaving the bellybutton exposed. For her boobs, a bra-like cup covered only the nipples-her back, only the bra strap.
"Don't think too much," she told her reflection, before sitting on the bed.
8:30 PM
"Why isn't he back?" She reached for her phone, thinking of calling him.
He had been gone for a long time. He didn't stay long at the after-party before he left. She had attended the party with Alyssa and a few of his associates, bored by his abesence. Since then, not a single call from him.
"Is he thinking..." She shook off the thoughts as if they were poison. "No. Wilson loves me."
She checked the time again-8:40 PM.
A call came to her phone. Alyssa's name flashed brightly on the screen.
She stared at the ringing call, knowing the exact reason Alyssa was calling.
"You picked!" Alyssa screamed from the other end. "I thought you're supposed to be taken to cloud nine by now! The hell are you guys doin' by this time!"
"Wil...son...we can do it. I... promise I won't flinch... Oh, Lys, sorry I picked the call by mistake. My baby and I are..."
"My God, Phire... I'm sorry for the interruption," she paused, then continued in a lower and more concerned tone. "You don't have to force it if you feel scared. Wilson is understanding. I know he won't think of hurting you."
"Thanks Lys. Now, if you don't leave the newlyweds alone, how are we gonna do the real deal?"
"Love ya, bye!"
Sapphire slowly lowered the phone, feeling the guilt in her chest for lying to Alyssa.
What could she do? Most newlyweds are usually together by this time of the day, and her-she hadn't even spoken to her husband.
9:00 PM.
"I give up." She stood and dialed Wilson's number.
First call-not available.
Second call-disconnected.
Third call-he answered.
Her ears caught a familiar sound.
"Stop disturbing us!"
The call ended.
She looked at her phone screen, rechecking the number she had called.
Wilson's number was clearly saved on the phone.
Then, whose was that lady's voice? What was that sound? It didn't sound like-
Her hands trembled as she dialed the number again.
He answered.
"I told you to... Wil's-"
"Who are you?" Sapphire's lips quivered.
"Who's calling?"
Sapphire heard that voice from the background. A voice she could swear a million times she could recognize even in her sleep.
"Must...be...your...petty...wife! Ah! Hold on, baby."
Sapphire couldn't feel her body moving. It felt like her body had been glued to a spot as the sinful sound filled not only her ears but the room.
The sound got louder. The voice got clearer, and bringing down the phone, her eyes met the shock of her life.
The call had been switched to a video call, and on the bed was her husband-naked, sweating, looking like he was having the time of his life as a woman rode him.
The phone slipped from her hand. She staggered, using the bed to support herself.
"Understand! Now leave us alone!"
She only came back to reality when the phone beeped. Call ended.
Hastily, she picked up the phone, dialing Wilson's number again.
Switched off.
Tears blurred her eyes; the only image she could see clearly was Wilson in bed with another woman. Her heart ached. It felt like a knife sharper than anything was slicing through it. Each slice giving her a new different layer of pain she hadn't experienced before.
She shook her head and rubbed her palms across both cheeks. "It can't be my Wilson. It just can't."
Rushing to the wardrobe, she took the first thing her hand came in contact with. A bathrobe.
Without bothering to tie it, she dashed out of the room. The cold tiles slapped against her feet as she had forgotten to wear her flip-flops. The only thing in her head was the video.
Getting outside, the cold breeze brushed against her skin. The robe danced behind her, and her hair bounced on her back as she ran past the car and went straight for the main gate.
She didn't need a security card. Her details had been saved in it. She ran out of the gate, into the street.
Her eyes had caught the window of the room. A banner appeared in the video, and only one hotel in Las Vegas had that fancy banner close to it. MEMO HOTEL.
Like a crazy woman, she ran. The world spun around her, the breeze got heavier, and the crickets sang like it was some choir. Yet, she ran, not minding any of those, or even the danger that the night held.
The few people that were on the street, she whipped past them, barely seeing their reaction to a lady who was supposed to be in her matrimonial bed with her husband, running in the street with her lingerie partially out like she had lost it.
Forty-five minutes later, she was at the hotel. She panted, gasping heavily; she thought she might collapse on the spot.
Catching a little breath, she rushed to the receptionist's table. "I... Wilson's room number. Wilson DeVille."
The receptionist gave her a strange look, from her head down to where the high table stopped her from going further.
"I'm sorry, but-"
"Wilson DeVille's room number!"
The receptionist shuddered.
"Ma'am, we don't-"
Sapphire spotted a pen on the table. With no second thought, she grabbed the pen, dragged the woman by the collar and pointed the pen to her neck.
"Will you give me the number, or do I have to shed blood to get it!"
"Ma'am, you can get-ouch!" Her skin tore open, a sharp pain going through her.
"Room 1011!"
Sapphire dropped both the pen and the woman, and ran upstairs.
It's not true. It's not true. Not my Wilson.
She kept mumbling until she got to the front door.
Looking up, the number plate glared boldly at her.
She didn't lean on the door to listen. All she needed was to confirm the video herself, even though it sounded foolish. A live video from Wilson's number couldn't be fake.
Yet, she grabbed the knob and twisted it.
Then and there, the remaining hope shattered. Wilson was by the wardrobe while the girl was on her knees, giving him head.
Not being able to handle it, she closed the door and held her chest. Every tear she had been trying to hold in began rolling down. Hundreds at a time.
She wiped them. More poured out.
She held the knob again and went in fully.
"Wilson!"
Quickly they disengaged.
"Great, your wife had to ruin it," the lady hissed, and got back on her knees.
She picked the glass of juice and tasted it, not bothering to hide her nakedness.
Her eyes were locked on Wilson. On the man who called himself her husband. The one who was looking at her like she had interrupted something important, rather than his wife catching him cheating on her, and that too, on their supposed wedding night.
"Why?" Sapphire didn't know how, but she found her voice.
"Why what?" Wilson asked, with a smile. Not sweet, rather sly and cunning. A version of Wilson she would give up her life while trying to prove that version of him didn't exist.
"Oh, you mean her? Yvonne?" He acted ignorant, walked to her, and kissed her softly. "She is the one I love. The one I wanted to get married to."
Sapphire's breath caught, his words echoing in her head.
"Then what am I?" She sucked in a long breath. "Answer me! Why did you get married to me!"
"Easy." Yvonne dropped the glass with a soft clink, and walked up to them. "Screaming, and your condition don't go a long way. High blood pressure is real."
"You told her?" Sapphire's voice came out almost inaudibly.
"What do you think? Lovers shouldn't keep secrets away from each other. I don't have to remind you about this one because you know it well, right?"
Yvonne's hand traced down his erected cock that was leaking precum. "Ignore the trash."
Wilson faced Yvonne, wrapped his arms around her, and rubbed their bodies together.
Sapphire marched up to him and forced him around. "If you didn't love me, why did you get married to me? Why did you lie to the whole world?! Why did you make me feel safe at the wedding when you know this is your plan?!"
"The wedding was a joke. Your dad wasn't even present. He doesn't value you and you dare to speak about love. You think a guy can love you?!" Wilson raised his voice, glaring at her with nothing but pure hatred and disgust. "There is no difference between you and a robot! A woman who flinches at the smallest of affection! A hug! I couldn't even kiss my so-called bride at the wedding because she was about to start shaking!" He dragged his gaze down her body.
"You even bought a lingerie! A robot in a human body! She was hoping for a wedding night. I am a human, and I have sexual feelings. Animals have feelings as well, but a robot, that is what you are! A frigid woman!"
Sapphire's hand flew to his cheek. "To hell with you!"
Yvonne's eyes widened. "How dare you lay your disgusting filthy hand on my man?!"
She returned the slap-twice.
Sapphire fell on the table, her body pushing down everything on it including the juice Yvonne was drinking.
Something cold touched her tongue. A metallic taste of blood.
Her eyes trailed to Yvonne's hand. She had a ring on her finger. The ring had busted her lips.
Sapphire's glare turned dark, and she traced her hand on the table, reaching for a broken piece of glass.
"You are nothing but a bastard, Wilson. A bastard!" She ran with all her might, aiming for Wilson's chest.
"Sapphire!"
Wilson whipped around like a flash. The glass met the door and shattered into shredded pieces, some pieces piercing her palm.
Wilson grabbed her hand, but she turned and took advantage of the opportunity.
Gripping his arm, she sank her teeth into his hand with everything in her.
"Argh! Bitch!" He yanked her away.
Yvonne rushed to Wilson. "Are you okay?"
She fell on the floor, and her forehead hit the door.
She winced painfully.
"You won't get away with this." Yvonne went and picked up one of the broken bottles.
Sapphire saw Yvonne coming for her and tried to stand when she noticed Wilson holding her robe.
"Let go of me you bastard," Sapphire spoke in urgency.
Yvonne reached her.
Sapphire removed her hand from the robe and fled away from the room.
"Bitch! I'm going to kill you. You dared to bite my Wilson!" She dropped the broken glass and went to Wilson.
"I told you she's a bitch. You should have dumped her on the altar-"
Wilson shut her up with a kiss. "Don't you trust me again?"
Yvonne smiled creepily. "I do."
-
By the time Sapphire ran out of the hotel, the street was almost empty. Her gaze was completely blurred, and the breeze got heavier. She didn't know if it was because of the weather, or the fact that she was running only in her lingerie.
She had no idea where to go, or whom to run to. The house was a no for her. Alyssa's house would mean bothering her, and her parents' house would not even be an option.
She was running with no direction, looking back repeatedly in case Wilson and his girlfriend were coming after her.
Looking forward, she got blinded by an upcoming car headlight.
"Ah!"
She missed her step and fell in front of the car. Her eyes hugged each other tightly as she thought the car would run into her.
Not feeling a thing, she slowly opened them, to meet the headlights still shining on her like some criminal.
Inside the car, the driver focused his eyes on her.
"Sir, it's Mrs. Sapphire DeVille...your brother's wife... she looks stranded, and is running in and-should we help her?" The way the words came out, it was as if he was speaking out everyone's confusion who had seen her that night.
From the back, no one could tell where Tristan had his eyes on.
Then his voice came out cold and authoritatively. "The next time you'll stop my car for something so irrelevant, that will be the day you'll hand the keys over."
