His Little Secret

"Room 957, I will greatly appreciate it if you can take me there." Rhett raised her eyebrows as she pointed to a card. She would come to work at the party for the night, which paid well.

"You can help yourself!" Crystal pushed him away, then tucked the card back into his shirt before slowly moving forward. This was a party for the wealthy; if she could assist him, she would be rewarded handsomely; if he was not kind enough, she could take some of his possessions.

She turned back and took his hand. "I will help you!" His room was only a few steps away from their current location; she only had to wake up for a minute before she arrived, authorized the card, and the door opened.

"You are so heavy!" She said that after putting him to bed, it was time for her to do her job. She moved closer to him, searching his pockets; his eyes were already closed, and he was probably too drunk to remember what she stole from him.

She was searching through her pockets when she felt his hand pull her in; she was only a few inches away from his face at the time. "What are you doing?" he inquired.

'He is still awake!' She screamed in her mind, wondering why she had not been more cautious.

"I am helping you with your clothes." She said nervously, smiling and ready to get out of his bed, but he still pulled her back.

"But I do not know you..." He whispered in a low voice, appearing uncomfortable; she could only persuade him otherwise.

"You begged me to help you, and I did, so do not blame me," she said nervously, but he still held her arm tightly.

"I am not his son, so I do not trust you, I do not trust anyone," he said, drawing him closer to her, her heart racing. Rich people usually have a lot of bodyguards; what if they showed up at this moment and held her down, refusing to let her leave?

"Since I have helped you, let me go," she hurriedly stood up, but he pulled her back, her lips landing on his.

"You..." She said and tried to slap him, but he was already sleeping, so she could not hurt him; it was probably not intentional, she sighed as she stormed out of the room.

"I have not taken anything from him," she hit her head as soon as she remembered, turning back to see a guard already standing at the door, what a missed opportunity.

'MORNING!!' The hotel attendant screamed from outside; he could not have entered the room without permission, and based on the number of knocks, the person inside was most likely sleeping.

Rhett got out of bed, exhausted from being woken up so early and still drowsy. He opened the door and found the attendant standing there.

"You must move out as soon as possible because your pay has expired!" The attendant said, and Rhett nodded slowly, thinking it was the stupidest reason to wake someone in the morning. He slammed the door shut and returned to his bedside.

He took his phone and saw fifteen missed calls from Ash, so he quickly called him back to see what was going on.

"You are already involved in a scandal, and thousands of reporters are waiting at the door!" He screamed, and Rhett arched his brow; this was not such a big deal to him.

"Why are you acting surprised?" "It happens all the time, it is fine," he put down the phone and was about to hang up when he heard him say.

"It is different this time around, there is evidence," Ash screamed at the top of his lungs, loud enough for him to hear.

"What evidence could they possibly possess?" He inquired, perplexed, as he had never done anything wrong. "There are pictures; I will send them to you." Ash said this over the phone and quickly hung up, expecting the pictures.

Dan Café

"How did things go at the hotel yesterday?" Lucy inquired curiously; her friend had gotten a really good deal to work at the party for the rich, so she should have made some money.

"It was not good for me at all; I completely forgot about the deal, and there were guards afterward," she shook her head, still regretting the previous day's events.

"How could you pass up such a fantastic deal?" Lucy dropped the glass in her head, frustrated that Crystal could not get anything out.

"What are you going to do with the expenses? I doubt you will find such a good deal again," Lucy remarked, shaking her head.

"I really hope I see one," she said sulkily, turning to face their manager.

"You are here gossiping again; go attend to some customers," he said, and they rolled their eyes before walking away; the manager can be overbearing for the money he pays at times.

Despite the difficulties, Rhett eventually walked into the company, and Ash was there to support him.

"What will we do?" He inquired nervously, aware that it was his responsibility to express his concerns; he could only ask how he could help.

"I remember being drugged; get me the lady's information," Rhett asked, and Ash smiled.

He had gone to a business party in the hopes of getting a good deal, but he had been drugged, and the only person who could help him was Crystal.

"It is already on your table," he said, and Rhett arched his brow, showing that he was getting better at his job.

He looked through the file and smiled when he found nothing wrong with it; the rumors would most likely die down in a few days, which was fine as long as she was not a threat.

"Ash!" He called, and Ash walked right in, ready to take command. "Get me..." He was about to say when he realised he had told her everything.

"Get the car ready!" He screamed, terrified that his secret would be discovered.

"Someone wants to see you," a waiter said, and she dropped her gloves in rage. He was already preparing to complete the day's tasks, so who could it be now?

"Lead the way," she said, and she slowly followed her, eventually arriving at a well-decorated section of the café that appeared to be reserved for the wealthy.

"Who is so important?" She inquired while slowly opening the curtains.

He smiled and said, "Nice to meet you, CEO of Lix Enterprise!"

He smiled and said, "Nice to meet you, CEO of Lix Enterprise!"

"CEO of..." Crystal trailed off at first but she looked towards him and smiled, he was the one she helped last night if he really cake here for her then she wouldn't be so safe anymore.

"Do you need anything for me to help you with?" She asked calmly with a broad smile on her face as she anticipated his reply she really hoped he didn't know that she tried to steal from him.

Rhett pulled out the document and placed it on the table signalling for her to check it out she takes the document trembling in fear on what it might have to say about her.

After reading it she dropped at it back annoyed at its content "You want me to be your wife? That's too much of a request don't you think?" She asked and Rhett raised his brow wondering why she would reject such an offer.

"It is a contract marriage, infact we are not even getting married you just have to act like we are married" He said and Crystal shook her head negatively considering the backfire of the plan.

"Don't you think anyone would suspect it? You can't tell me you don't have a girlfriend? Why can't you get married to her?" She asked earning a laughter from him but he suddenly pulled back a serious expression.

"I don't actually have one I don't moreover you wouldn't die if you get into a contract marriage with me, will it?" He asked and she smiled she couldn't deduct his thoughts but she knew for sure it would only take a few days before she got into trouble by his side.

"You can't see what I can do I kindly reject your offer moreover can't you get married to someone else? Why me?" Crystal asked and he smiled as he walked up to her as she began to tremble. His reason wouldn't be because he saw her last night right?

"Remember last night..." He trailed off and Crystal hurriedly raised her and placed his lips obstructing him from saying anything.

"You can't use that to pin me down I didn't do anything to you last night." Crystal said looking away and he looked confused at first but he pulled her hand down and smiled.

"I said I would repay you if you helped me and you helped me so I have to repay you." He said and she scoffed the way rich people do their things is one she would never understand.

"Your way of helping me is forcing me to get married to you?" She asked and he shook his head he had finally understood why she rejected him she misinterpreted his intention.

"No, I just want to help pay for your mother's expenses and you way of paying me back would be by pretending to be my wife." He smiled and her face changed immediately.

"You really planned it out huh? How did you know about my mum?" She asked fearing that her mother might be in danger.

"Your background is very easy to investigate." Rhett said and she sighed.

"Fine! But I have a condition to add." Crystal said and he smiled excited about the fact that he was finally able to convince her.

"What?" He asked and Crystal smiled in response.

"Our relationship can't be revealed to the public and also it will work to pay off the money quickly" She said stating all the terms she knew could probably protect her from any unexpected saga.

"Sure! I will pay your mother's hospital bills and to pay it off, you can work for me" He said and she smiled.

"For how long?" She asked, she didn't want to be tied to his side for too long it was too much of a danger considering that he would have a lot of suitors.

"Three years if you are not qualified and a year and a half if you are qualified." He said, just the period of a year was enough for him to establish his power even if his secret got out it wouldn't be a big deal.

"A year and and a half is enough for me I know I am qualified" Crystal smiled if it weren't for her lack of connections she would have been able to pay her mother's hospital bills long ago.

"Okay! Do you want to start today?" He asked and she nodded.

Lix Tech Company

The CEO walking in with a lady by his side sure ensured a lot of gossip a few workers wondered what her relationship was with him while the others pitied her regardless of her relationship with him. Rhett lead hee to seat beside another employee and whispered to her ear "Ash,will bring the description to you"

Rhett walked away and she turned beside her only to see a lady at the desk next to hers staring at her.

"Hi, I am Ava!" She introduced herself and she smiled it seemed like the employees here were really nice and friendly.

"Crystal!" She smiled giving a hand shake before taking her seat.

"I can see you are pretty close to the boss." Ava said and Crystal immediately turned to her to clarify she would let anyone misunderstand their relationship.

"Not really I am just his cousin we are not close at all." She said and Ava muttered and 'oh!' before turning back. Crystal breath a sigh of relief as she also turned back to her desk.

"Hey!" Few hours into reviewing her work she heard someone called from behind her she looked up to see it was Rhett.

"It is time to get off work!" He said and she raised a brow checking the clock on her hands.

"But it is not even four yet don't you think it is too early to get of work?" She asked and he scoffed like she was telling a joke.

"Rules don't apply to me I am the boss here!." He said and grabbed her hand pulling her up from the seat.

"Where are going now?" Crystal asked as soon as she got into his car she knew he wanted tos take her somewhere.

"Home!, I will get you some clothes first" Rhett said and signalled to the driver to start in which he obliged.

"You finally know how to come home?"

"I have given you the manuscript of the device a year ago and you are here telling it will take nine months to complete it?"Rhett asked.

"I guess you don't love your job."Rhett said standing up and exiting the room.

He went to sit in his office thinking about the next step to take when Ash stepped in.

"Boss,I have all her information here."Ash said.

"Drop it here and leave,"Rhett said and Ash did as instructed.

'Crystal Hearth huh?' Rhett thought as he viewed the information about her.

"That reminds me I met her in the cafe shop yesterday,"Rhett said as he got up to his feet,took his sunglasses and went to his car.

*Cafe shop

Walking in Rhett made sure to give the aura meant to be feared, sighting him the manager walked up to him.

"Should I prepare the server room?"He asked,Rhett was somehow a regular customer here as he either comes to relax or hold a secret meeting.

"I wouldn't need that for today,"

"Just get me Crystal Hearth."Rhett said, taking his shades off and staring directly at the manager maintaining an emotionless face.

"Crystal!?..."The manager trailed off as he thought what kind of trouble has she gotten herself into this time.

"What!?"

"She doesn't work here"

"Or..."

"You don't love your store anymore?"Rhett asked and the manager sighed,he knew this man and he could help build his store to greatness but also destroys it In a minute.

"I'll get her for you."The manager said.

"Good,I will be at the table next to my room."Rhett said and walked off.

"Crystal!"The manager called and saw her attending to a customer,he dragged her off and took her to the counter.

"What's wrong?"

"You give me a day off?"Crystal asked dusting her shirt off.

"A day off?"

"You wish?"

"Not only do you not have a day off you have also gotten yourself into trouble,"The manager said making different thoughts run through her head.

"Is he planning to fire me?"

"If he is,he should at least give this week's wage"

"Where am I going to find a new job"

"The CEO seeks you."The manager said.

"Which CEO?"Crystal asked.

"The CEO,well forget it you won't know him anyway,"

"He is at table eight,give your best impression,I don't want to lose my store,"The manager said and walked off after a short time crystal also walked off to the table.

"Good day,you asked for me."Crystal said immediately she got to the table and seeing his face she smiled"It's you"

"Turns out you are a CEO,good for you."Crystal said, making Rhett give off a creepy smile which made Crystal cringe.

He took out a piece of paper from his suit and dropped it on the table.

"What is this?"Crystal firstly asked.

"For me!?"Crystal asked, pointing at herself and Rhett also nodded his head.

"Contract Marriage!?''Crystal said in a surprised way after reading the book.

"Yes,both parties will gain."Rhett said and Crystal thought 'I don't think so'.

"I don't agree."Crystal said and Rhett looked at her shocked at her words how could anyone in their right senses refuse a contract that could change their life forever.

He cleared his throat as he had no choice but to pull this off.

"Are you sure?"

"The money could pay off all your debt and also help in curing your mother?"Rhett questioned her decision and she looked at him with a surprised expression

"How do you know so much about me?"Crystal asked.

"I need to know who I am dealing with"Rhett said and Crystal gave off a scarstic look 'a CEO indeed'

"I still don't agree"Crystal said not letting the benefits shake her.

"I mean don't you remember our first encounter?"Crystal asked giving a questioning look.

"You...."Rhett was shocked by her persistence.

"I won't force you but I hope you could go back and rethink your decision"Rhett said dropping his card on the table and also taking the contract paper with him.

"So bossy,I would definitely not want to live with you"Crystal said.

"Are you okay?"

"He isn't going to demolish my shop will he?"The manager asked.

"Ofcourse he won't,I didn't do anything wrong after all"Crystal said walking off.

"The confidence still remains"He said looking at crystal.

"I wonder what they talked about"He said and also went to resume at his work.

It got dimmer and crystal was sitting on her couch and watching a movie while eating some popcorn when Lucy opened the door.

"I am home!!"Lucy announced making crystal look back to her.

"How was your work?"Crystal asked.

"Oh don't get me started with it."Lucy said as she gave a fustrated look and closed the door going to join her on the couch.

"You won't believe what the boss did today,"Lucy said and Crystal looked at her anticipating the whole story.

"He actually tried to kiss me."

"And forcefully at that."Lucy said.

"Really?"Crystal asked to confirm and Lucy nodded.

"What did you do to him?"Crystal asked.

"Of course gave him a heavy slap and beat his life,the security had to drag me out"

"Guess what?"

"I am fired at that one."Lucy said and Crystal laughed.

"Crazy experience huh?"

"I also got asked for a marriage today?"Crystal and Lucy's jaw dropped wide open.

"A marriage!?"

"Not even a date."

"Men this days can be crazy."Lucy said and crystal nodded in agreement as they continued with the movie.

"Grandma!?"Rhett called upon entering into the house as he couldn't sight her anywhere.

"Grandma!?"He called again searching through the house for her.

"I am here!"He suddenly heard his grandma say and he turned back to see her standing with a angry expression.

"Where were you last night?"His Grandma asked making him quickly give her a smile.

"Well,"

"Grandma,it is simple,totally simple not complicated at all,"he said demonstrating while waving his hands.

"Talk!?"

"Can't you talk anymore?"His Grandma asked.

"Well,"Rhett said thinking about what he could say.

"Louis took me to a bar last night and he left me there,"Rhett hurrdily said.

"Really?"

"So you think that is a befitting explanation?"His Grandma asked and he shrugged

"Not really," he said.

"You haven't brought me a wife and you sleeping in bars."His Grandma siad chasing after him.

"I will be on my way now,"Lucy said after she ate breakfast in the morning and walking to the doorstep.

"Okay,"

"I will see you later,"

"Have a good day!"Crystal said giving her a beaming smile.

"Thank you."Lucy said before completly exiting the house.

After Crystal was also done with her breakfast,she also took her bag and approached the door which was suddenly opened by Mr. Shake

Giving a nervous laugh crystal asked "Shake,you are here to visit me?"
