On opening the locker, the hinges finally came off and the handle and locker door fell to the ground clattering loud...loud enough the attract the gazes of everyone present in the hallway.
Raiden felt so embarrassed when he heard the giggles and scoffs in every corner of the hall.
"Look at that, it finally fell off. Sooner than I thought actually" Said a female.
Amber Lee, a belle in his class.
She was hanging onto the arms of her boyfriend.
Adam Sandler.
He looked at Raiden in contempt and sneered.
"He could have gone to the janitor too get it fixed. Now he's going to have to buy a new locker. Chicken brain could have saved more money by getting it fixed"
Amber giggled and this time they were passing the devastated boy, so she said out loud to the hearing of other students as well.
"Oh Adam don't be a tease. You know he can barely afford to fix his glasses. How do you suppose he'll even think about fixing a simple locker"
Annabelle and Samantha, her two friends walking behind the couple like flower girls laughed their heads off along with the students while sneering at the boy who was meekly bending down to pick the parts of the locker that had fallen down.
A muscular looking boy wearing uniforms that were so tight, they accentuated his tight muscles and big arms came up to Raiden smirking evilly.
"Hey pipsqueak. Look up here"
At once, Raiden straightened himself not ready for another beat down from his no. 1 bulky in school.
Once he looked up at him, he felt something like paper flutter on his face
His face burned red when he noticed he, Jake had tossed a handful of money on his face, stunning him.
"That's for your locker and maybe if it's more than enough you can fix your glasses as well"
He sneered and the girls hovering around him giggled.
Raiden forced the words out his mouth.
"I don't need your stupid money"
The laughing boy suddenly turned serious and immediately yanked the other boy's collar and pushed him to the ground so that Raiden's lips were brushing the money scattered on the ground.
"I'm not begging you to take it...."
Raiden cursed as his lips hit hard on the ground, tasting something metallic in his mouth. His glasses were squeezed further into the ground and the frame broke some more.
As Jake was enjoying the torment while other students gather to watch the Intriguing scene, a teacher suddenly spoke from behind
"Don't tell me you find bullying students more interesting than class. Because I've got a much better class for you"
It was the principal herself!!!
Mrs Emelda was standing there, usual tailored suit and brown hair out in bun with a strict looking glass in her face.
Her lips were twisted up in a crooked sneer
The students scampered away to avoid been noticed by the woman all the while muttering
"S..sorry Mrs Emelda" Avoiding her scary fierce glare
Jake held onto Raiden's neck some more before releasing his grip watching as the boy on the ground cough and breath like he had been holding his breath.
He placed his hands in his pocket with a sinister grin, not a single speck of remorse in his eyes as he walked past Mrs Emelda whose gaze was now fixed on Raiden who was getting up from the floor.
Was she surprised...no
She was worried ...
This wasn't the first time she had to personally stop something like this....
And this boy had barely been here half his first semester in this school...
"Mr. Jones" The boy looked up on hearing his name but she didn't let him say anything. "To my office"
Mrs. Emelda looked at him
Fortnite's uniform was designed by the best so far it could look good on anyone ...
The shirt was white with a red tie designed with black stripes with matching skirt or pants for girls and pants for boys.
His uniform was dirty and unkempt.
His glasses were barely hanging down from his nose, his hair was scathed and rough like a comb had never seen it and dry blood was at the edge of his lips.
She folded her arms on the table before her and looked intently at the boy who was avoiding her gaze.
Clearing her throat, she said
"You can stop this you know"
The boy smiled a painful smile
"If it's about dropping the scholarship slip from this school, then forget about it Tamora"
She frowned
"And end up getting beaten and bullied all over again. Acting like you're a pathetic whimp with no morsel of strength left In you. Raiden you can be better than this"
"It's not like it hurts anyway"
"You're bleeding"
With that, he slowly put his hand up to the edge of his lips where a bruise was made and when he released his hand three seconds later, the wound was gone almost like nothing happened.
"See?"
He said relaxing on his seat.
"At least try to look like a decent student" Tamora, the principal said, taking off her glasses to give him a serious look.
The turtle shell glasses and the shaggy suit she wore did well to conceal the beautiful young face beneath it.
"I have to create a perfect identity and demeanor. If they come after me here on earth, I wouldn't want to draw any suspicion to myself"
She just rolled her eyes and her hand moved quickly on her desk like she was looking for something...
She finally hands him a card, a pass to the clinic.
Raiden takes it with a smile, pushing up his already damaged glasses up his nose.
"You worry too much"
"Just take the day off from school and you can go home early"
Raiden stands pulling his bag over his shoulder.
He really looked like a typical nerd student from a poor family background and one would glance twice at him before moving past him
"I've been meaning to ask...did you cut your hair and dye it blue"
Raiden turned to her and through his glasses, his black eyes twinkled
"It's a wig. Can't you guess"
"Oh... I'm going to invite that Jax guy to my office"
"Like I said, you worry too much. It's not anything's going to change anyway"
With that, he leaves the office.
A drop dead gorgeous girl with hair black like ink and so long it kissed her waist sat on the clinic bed, swinging her legs enthusiastically. Her eyes were filled with mischief and it was a unique Emerald green color.
Her skirt was very short it showed off her smooth thighs. A long white stockings covered up to her knees to match with her inky black shoes.
The left sleeves of her shirt was rolled up to her upper arm and right now she was slowly flexing the arm while Nurse Lily was checking out the arm
"You've healed so fast. It's only been three days. Are you sure you can start classes today?"
The nurse asked worriedly.
The girl, Diana managed to flex her arm again.
"It's fine now, see?"
"You should be careful Miss Chen. Basket ball's not a game for girls like you and you happen to be the only girl in the team so please be careful. It's a miracle you can move your hand again"
"You worry alot. I'm fine. Besides, we have a game next week and I'm definitely not missing practice" With that she energetically jumped down the bed and starts pulling down her sleeves when a boy suddenly walks in.
She narrowed her eyes as she scrutinized him. She hasn't been in school for a few days but she hadn't noticed him when she was around.
She heard many things about him though she had never seen him in person because he was an introvert.
They said he was so poor, he lived with the principal in her apartment and he was a whimp who couldn't stand up for himself.
"Mr. Jones. I see you've gotten into trouble again. What is it this time"
Nurse Lily asked collecting the slip he gave her.
"Uhhh" Raiden said rubbing the back of his neck. "Everything is fine now really. Do you know where I can find the janitor. I ah have something to tell him"
She sighed.
"Miss Chen please show him to the Janitor's room"
That's when Raiden noticed the belle who was gaping at him all these while and for two good minutes, they stood there like stagnant statues staring at each other as if in a staring contest.
Raiden thought he saw something flash In her eyes before she blinked and finally moved past him brushing her shoulder against him.
"Sure Nurse Lily" She said almost gruffly and Raiden reluctantly followed her out the door.
The hallway was empty and the school was a drop pin silence as their feet brushed against the floors echoing around the halls.
Diana was Infront walking with hands in pockets.
Raiden was meekly following her from behind taking care not to walk on the same sideline with her.
Who didn't know Diana Chen?
The toughest girl In School
The most beautiful
The wealthiest
The only girl in the school's basket ball team
She was stronger than most boys in school
And boy could this girl break hearts.
So far she had dated and broken the hearts of several boys in their school
And she quoted 'No boy could ever break her heart because she didn't have One'
So she was pretty much a playgirl
And here she was just back from a school leave from breaking her arm during a basket ball match and she was asked to show this pathetic person around.
He was definitely everything that she was not
But she had to admit, through that dorky glasses and introvertive personality, he was gorgeously cute.
She had dated several boys to know that the person meekly following her from behind was more than good-looking...
Once in a while, Raiden's gaze would fall on the smooth fair skin that was exposed because of her short skirt and wondered how someone would feel comfortable walking around half naked on public grounds.
He deemed it wise to just shut up.
They finally reach a door with the word 'Janitor' was written on it in bold red writing.
He looked up and pushed his glasses up his nose.
"Thank you" He muttered
"Do me a favor, yeah?" Hearing her talk, he looked at her. "This never happened between us"
He frowned
"But nothing...."
"We were never talking to each other and neither did I show you the Janitor's office...I have an image to maintain here, okay" She said curtly like she was talking to her servant boy.
He parted his lips but words weren't able to come out. Words that were compressed in his chest.
He just pretended to look unbothered by what she said and looked away.
"Sure"
With that, she looked at him one more time, squinting her eyes again as if trying to dissipate what was running across her mind but she just shrugged it off and walked away.
Sighing he held the door knob and pushed it, walking inside.
A few minutes later, he stepped out not sure what to do with his life at that moment. He had a permission slip to leave school when he wanted.
But then again, he was okay now.
He'll go to class....
He makes up his mind and moved with resolute towards his respective class when he saw Diana and a boy walking towards the rest room.
The boy was hugging her from behind and she was smiling naughtily while saying something only both could hear.
He leaned forward and buried his lips on the nape of her neck.
The girl giggled and moaned softly.
The boy was Travis Jackson and he was another hunk in Fortnite.
But he had a girlfriend. Karen Bane
Raiden squinted his eyes watching the lovey dovey couple enter the boys' rest room.
He just sighed.
A typical high school scenario
What was his business anyway
He went for class
He wasn't bothered about what he saw that morning but what really got him curiously stunned to the core was when the news of the death of Travis Jackson spread around the whole school during lunch break.
Diana was eating in the cafeteria with her friends all around her. Not just ordinary people. The popular kinds that were rich and well known in school like Amber Lee, Samantha and Annabelle.
But she couldn't enjoy her lunch because all they kept talking about was about Travis Travis Travis.
Hell!!! everyone in school was talking about him and how his corpse was found lying sprawled in the boys' restroom.
"I don't know why you guys are making a big deal out of this. It's not like he's the first boy to die in Fortnite academy"
Amber rolled her eyes at Diana's words
"Well don't you think it's absurd that something like this happens Almost every week. Students are dying like Chickens every week"
A girl with blonde hair and black eyes suddenly sat down sniffing while cleaning her already swollen eyes.
Karen Bane, Travis's girlfriend.
No one said anything just flashing her sympathetic looks.
"That murdering son of a..." Karen paused and said. "How dare he ..."
Annabelle frowned.
"How are you sure It's a he"
Diana who was eating noticed someone's gaze lingering on her.
She was extremely beautiful, she knew that she would often gain the attention of several students even females but this particular gaze had been lingering on her since she sat down to eat.
As Cassandra and Karen bantered on which gender the murderer could be, she looked up and her green orbs grab hold of black ones.
Eh? What is he looking at me for?
Raiden noticed that she had spotted him peering at her like a creep so he bent down almost burying his face in his food.
Diana noticed he was the only one seated on a bench, alone with no one to talk to.
She kept on looking at him, finding his reaction to her looking at him cute.
So she kept on looking at him to tease him.
As she gazed at him, he became more uncomfortable and swung his fork around his food aimlessly trying hard to look down.
'So now you know what it feels like to get stared at'
She said and Raiden shot his head up in time to see her smirk and look back at her food.
His eyes widened and he parted his lips in surprise.
That was because she was sitting several metres away from him but he could clearly hear what she said.
Did she just communicate with him, telepathically.
As usual, Diana walked ahead of the other girls.
She was the leader with Amber behind her followed by Annabelle, Samantha and Karen.
They were the Fivers
A group of beautiful girls with skirts as short as hell to show off her their long smooth sexy legs. They were the terror of the school and no one In their right senses would ever want to cross their paths.
Even boys... except their boyfriends of course.
But Diana wasn't the type of Person to commit herself to a boy, she was more of a play girl. Have fun with him and toss him away when you're bored, get a new one later.
And despite knowing her attitude and nature, boys still threw themselves at her. Because she was just so out-of-this-world beautiful and sexy.
The Fivers went to an empty class to spend some time together while class sessions were going on.
Annabelle was painting Karen's nails while Samantha was painting Amber's nails.
Diana was seated down, arms folded, eyes closed, head leaned back.
You would think she was in the same room with you but yes...her body was ..but her spirit and mind wasn't. She was far off from earth but no one knew.
Suddenly, Raiden enters into the class. His backpack hung on one of his shoulders as usual.
He had on a straight face as he said without waiting for the other girls to recover.
"I want to talk to you"
He was looking straight at Diana whose eyes was closed.
"Is this some joke or something" Amber said, fuming while glaring at him. "Get lost"
"Diana" He said avoiding Amber like she was a fly.
"He's new. He probably doesn't know her" Annabelle said smirking evilly.
"I don't care. He can't just come in unannounced and ..."
"What's going on" Diana voice suddenly echoed in the class.
Everyone thought she had awoken from a quick nap.
All of them failed to notice how her eyes glowed back from ruby red to her usual green color.
She frowned when she sees Raiden.
"What are you doing here"
"He came to talk to you" Amber said, scoffing.
"It's important. I won't take much of your time" Raiden was quick to say.
"I certainly don't have time for people like you" Diana said nonchalantly.
The other girls tittered while Amber glared at him in satisfactory.
"Leave while I'm still being nice or I'll break the remains of your glasses" Amber sneered
Raiden looked at Diana but she had her eyes closed again, leaning back.
He grits his teeth and leaves.
"Imagine the guts of that guy" Sam turned to Diana. "Say, did you happen to run into him. He's acting like you guys have met"
Diana just smirked.
"Maybe we have maybe we haven't. Who knows, I might have forgotten"
During History class, Diana decided to show up for class.
Her friends were separated in other classes so she was alone in Class 12C
Luckily for her, the only seat available was the one at the back but to her dismay it was right behind Raiden's.
Ignoring him as usual, she sat down and pulled out her books.
She noticed the teacher nicknamed Miss Anti-tardy was late for the first time so turning to the girl beside her, she whispered.
"What happened. I'm noticing a lack of teachers today. Even Miss Anti-tardy is late"
The girl pushed up her big glasses
"That's because they're all trying to investigate the death of Travis. They say he was murdered in the boy' restroom and the CCTV camera didn't catch anything. It was all a blur"
"Hmm" Diana just said turning back to her books. She bent down to read noticing it was pretty much what some people were doing while the others seemed to be happy about the absence of teachers today and whiled away their time on their phones.
Raiden was also trying to read but he got interrupted by someone throwing him crumpled up papers every now and then.
He would push up his glasses and ignore them but the papers flew like hard copy distractions landing on his forehead or nose before settling down on his book.
He looked up to see Jake and some of his pathetic friends who were of course part of the mischief.
But he couldn't do anything
He just had to sit there and let them do what they wanted ...
Diana who was watching everything pursed her lips and glared at Raiden wondering how someone could just sit there and get bullied by his fellow classmates.
Soon, Jake mistakenly tosses a paper and it went past Raiden's ears to hit Diana on the face.
For a moment, everyone gasped and there was a stand still silence as they all waited for what would happen.
Raiden turned sideways to look at her.
Diana angrily hit the surface of her table and stands up, screeching her chair backwards.
"Who threw this" She said raising the crumpled paper up.
Raiden turned and his mouth almost fell open as he watched Jake and his friends tremble in fear!!!
"No one wants to talk" A brow raised on her face, she smirked evilly. "Then maybe I should just let everyone here do squats on the ground... how's that"
'She can't do that' Raiden thought, frowning.
'Try me' She said but in his head again!!!
He turned to look at her but she was looking up ahead like he wasn't there.
Jake stands up
"It wasn't meant to hit you...please forgive me"
Raiden suddenly frowned wanting to know why someone as big and intimidating as Jake would crumble low before a girl like Diana.
"So it was you" With that, she walks over to him and pushes him slightly so that he was seated and she was towering over him.
She shoved the paper in his hand
"Eat it"
Raiden blinked.
'I didn't hear her well right?'
"W..what?" Jake asked with a petrified look.
Diana rolled her eyes.
"You know how impatient I am with repeating myself. I said..eat it!"
Jake looked at the paper and looked back at her pleadingly.
"Maybe next time you'd think about throwing papers in class like a hoodlum"
Jake's hand trembled as he held the paper in his hands. He looked up and on seeing Raiden watching him, he glared at him.
"You're making me angry" She growled and suddenly slams her two hands on the table which made everyone tremble especially Jake and he threw the paper into his mouth and chewed it with a sour expression on his face.
She kept watching him with an evil smirk on her face till he swallowed the paper with tears in his eyes.
